Note: The decision was made to consolidate all Disney publications under the name Walt Disney Company. This profile is for Walt Disney, the characters he created, and the company he founded. Any questions, please ask in the Librarian's Group.

Walter Elias “Walt” Disney (December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, animator, entrepreneur, entertainer, international icon, and philanthropist. Disney is famous for his influence in the field of entertainment during the 20th century. As the co-founder (with his brother Roy O. Disney) of Walt Disney Productions, Disney became one of the best-known motion picture producers in the world. The corporation he co-founded, now known as The Walt Disney Company, today has annual revenues of approximately U.S. $35 billion.

Disney is particularly noted for being a film producer and a popular showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design. He and his staff created some of the world's most famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, a character for which Disney himself was the original voice. He has been awarded four honorary Academy Awards and has won twenty-two competitive Academy Awards out of fifty-nine nominations, including a record four in one year, giving him more awards and nominations than any other individual. He also won seven Emmy Awards. He is the namesake for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the United States, as well as the international resorts Tokyo Disney, Disneyland Paris, and Disneyland Hong Kong.

Disney died of lung cancer in Burbank, California, on December 15, 1966. The following year, construction began on Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. His brother Roy Disney inaugurated the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971.

The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) (commonly referred to as Disney) is the largest media and entertainment conglomerate in the world in terms of revenue. Founded on October 16, 1923, by brothers Walt Disney and Roy Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, the company was reincorporated as Walt Disney Productions in 1929. Walt Disney Productions established itself as a leader in the American animation industry before diversifying into live-action film production, television, and travel. Taking on its current name in 1986, The Walt Disney Company expanded its existing operations and also started divisions focused upon theatre, radio, publishing, and online media. In addition, it has created new divisions of the company in order to market more mature content than it typically associates with its flagship family-oriented brands.

The company is best known for the products of its film studio, the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, today one of the largest and best-known studios in Hollywood. Disney also owns and operates the ABC broadcast television network; cable television networks such as Disney Channel, ESPN, and ABC Family; publishing, merchandising, and theatre divisions; and owns and licenses 11 theme parks around the world. On January 23, 2006, it was announced that Disney would purchase Pixar in an all-stock transaction worth $7.4 billion. The deal was finalized on May 5. On December 31, 2009, Disney Company acquired the Marvel Entertainment, Inc. for $4.24 billion. The company has been a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average since May 6, 1991. An early and well-known cartoon creation of the company, Mickey Mouse, is the official mascot of The Walt Disney Company.

I liked this book. This book was really interesting for myself like a human going to the demon realm and not wanting to go back home from the demon realm called the boiling iles. I like how luz noceda is, she reminds me of myself while growing up. She had the same hobbies and also she acts like me too. She is basically my favorite character from the book and other people too. And also she's really cool and also a human learning magic is even better than anything. And also Eda is such a mother to luz and also to King. I really enjoyed this book and what happened to luz and the boiling iles.

This paperback adaptation includes two stories from the Disney animated series The Owl House. The first story is episode 3 where Luz, a human who has accidently transported herself to the magical Boiling Isles decides that she wants to attend witch school instead of learning with her mentor Eda. The second story is episode 12 in which Luz tells a lie about how many spells she can do in order to not seem like a "baby" to her new witch friend Amity.

The book would mostly appeal to fans of the tv show as each story has character development and should be seen sequentially to understand all the inside information. It was especially hard to feel a connection to Luz as the two stories come at different times in the series. The book is illustrated with small screen shot pictures from the series. It was like reading a play by play of the animation and not a true story. This was not the best adaption of a tv series for kids that I have seen as a Librarian, but it may not be the worst either. A search for the history of the show revealed that it did last only two seasons on Disney and that the character development took it more into pre-teen to teen level storylines in season two.

I would recommend this book as an optional purchase for school and public libraries.

Rather than feel myself cast into some premature geriatric oblivion by reading this charming adaptation of streaming's most charming show, The Owl House, intended audience decidedly younger than my so-called mature years, the tale worked its magic on this aging heart and mind and recalled youthful vim in a rather enjoyable fashion. Dana Terrace's vivid world and spectacular characters continue the grand traditions of fantasy, spun in timeless fashion to hearken the weird and macabre (and wonderful) realm of childhood imagination and fears.

Great owl house adaptation of two of my fave episodes, does not add anything. But I do have one little suggestion. They should have put enchanting Grommet fright in here as well. But I still love that adventures in the elements! I could literally hear the voice actors screaming I my ears and I knew exactly which lines were coming next. Also I think that there should be just short stories like sort of like the gravity falls books in graphic novel form that add to the shows canon. Like lost legends but owl house! Who knows Tinela could be the next shembulock!

A TV adaptation that retells the episodes "I Was a Teenage Abomination" and "Adventures in the Elements". Follow Luz as she encounters Hexside School and learns her first two spells.

Nicely written. It was fun to revisit the characters in these pivotal episodes of The Owl House.

Includes black-and-white shots of the show, which pair well and nicely break up the text.

A nice book for those who want to revisit parts of the show. I miss The Owl House so much. Such a great show.

As far as adaption novels go this wasn't my favorite. I understand it was based on a few episodes and I am new to the series so I could use some character development here (even though one can argue that Luz story is all about her development into this world), but this was practically play by play of the series episode.
It's all good, it still had it's charm just really was looking for something that brought out a side-quest feel or support characters get their shine-kind of thing.

Okay, I really love with all my heart the story that Dana Terrace presents us with so much affection in The Owl House, my heart beats a thousand per hour with every situation that occurs in the plot, each character is very well developed and has its own history, likewise the adventures that Luz has along the way are unforgettable, each event and her search for love make this story beautiful.

That's it? I was a Teenage Abomination and Adventures in the Elements? That can't be it! Where's the rest of it?! Still waiting on more Owl House content aside from the show itself and three part movie posing as Season 3! At least you'd think there'd be a defictionalized Good Witch Azura...
