What do you think?

Devastated
They want to ruin me.
I'm used to being the new girl.
Every time Dad gets restationed, it's the same routine--keep my head low and be invisible until the next move.
Except, despite the uniform, I don't have the money or the complexion to blend in with the devastatingly rich and beautiful students gracing the halls of Desert Badlands Academy.
It's bad enough that, before my first day, I let Xander Gale give me a handy introduction in a darkened hallway of his home. Even if he is hot, I keep telling myself I don't need any distractions. My scholarship is riding on finishing up the year here.
But when I see him looking at me, I still hope we can pick up where we left off.
Only, now his lingering stares have caught the attention of the other sinister members of The Crows--Jorden Battle and Marshall Landers. All beautiful disasters, gods, and idols of Badlands--or Wastelands--who feast on the innocent.
★★★
It's all my fault.
Marshall caught me watching Izabelle Waters. He's made a game out of taking whatever he knows I want just to see me scramble. And for what? To be the King of The Crows?
Now there's going to be a feeding. He wants me to ruin Izabelle with the whole school watching.
I'm not going to allow it.
Not when my future relies on it. Not when she's the first girl I ever really wanted. Not when the last girl we videoed ourselves ruining is now dead.
***Devastated is a 30,000-word dark/mature high school romance novella with a bully/suspense twist. This is the first book in the Wastelands Academy Series. Contains foul language, sexual scenes, and mention of suicide; any sex featured is consensual.
*Previously published in Hearts of A Valentine's Day Bully Romance Anthology.

Entertaining storyline in this BWWM bully romance involving the typical characters -- elites (Crows), mean girls (Ravens), and preyed upon students (The Feed). The setting is high school, and this novella follows Izabelle (Izzie), the heroine, and the love affair with Xander, the hero. Xander, initially set upon bullying her along with the Crows and Ravens. There is also a story involving Xander's father.
What I liked: The pace of the story, the characters, the chemistry between the two main characters, the foil of the hero, his cronies. The book was also steamy. I liked reading the two characters' strengthening behavior, particularly the heroine. What I felt could have been better: the story and character development. Understandably a novella, the story at times read jumpy, storyline transitions were missing, and the characters didn't feel to have distinct personalities.
Overall, I found this book entertaining. I liked it, and was excited to read an interracial bully romance as only one of two that I've come across to date. I look forward to the next part and hope to read more bullying and romance.

Disordered mussiness
The beginning of the story attracted my attention, but in the middle, it reads as a contour.
One minute the main character Izzy is introduced to Xander and his family the next they're making out in a room where the adults are mere feet away. And after that meeting, she's in school and all of a sudden she gets intimidated, but you don't see it, as it says.
The characters were shallow and so dull in my eyes. The two have no clear personality or direction about who they are and what they represent.
Xander is warm and cold, he feels obliged to help Izzy although they only shared a scene before he suddenly arrives at a conscientious moment.
Truly the story was all over the place like someone reading a map and still gets lost. I felt detached from the story and the characters. I thought that the main romanticism was more baffling than bathetic and that the rhythm and timing of their relationships were offside.
Overall, it’s A tumultuous story that has no character development. The book had an engrossing presupposition, but it fell short.

PITCH DARK AND YA STUFF
I'm giving it four stars because I'm not cool with the ages of the characters. I love the pace of the story, the characters (save for daddy Gale - another personal opinion) and the world I was tossed in. Devasted is definitely not the usual boy meets girl story and not for the faint in heart. Like what and where was the author when she was conjuring this world????

Bad Ass Izzy
I love how they all underestimated exactly what Izzy was capable of and my hope is that she’ll eviscerate the entire Ravens and Crows misfits!
