Authors James and Young have created one beck of a great battle yarn.

Captain Lee Santo decorated war veteran is thrust into a battle for the very soul of humanity, tasked with trying to broker a piece with the AIC to end a decades long war. Is betrayed and left with a severely damaged ship and crew far from home with no rescue possible. Him and what's left of ships complement battle against an unstoppable force that humanity didn't even believe existed.
Captain Santo's young son Lt. Commander Ben has now resigned his commission is reaching for his father's ship "Atlas" an won't stop until he has found and rescued him and any crewmen with him.
STORY continues with fantastic characters, amazing plots and twists, battle sequences galore. Always new adventures with never ending spectacles.
This complete series is a MUST read for anyone who lives Military SF.

his is it! Do the Shapeless aliens plow through the Earth and Moon, leaving them as burned out husks with no humans left? Or does Ben Saito get the AIC and UEF forces moving together to get there in time to even fight the overwhelming number of aliens? Does Lee Saito even make it to the Shapeless home planet, let alone destroy it? Can the pirate team stop the aliens from using the planet-killer weapon? Does Detective Sydal find and rescue his son and make it off the Moon safely? There’s non-stop action as these sub-stories all come together in this exciting finale, and it is unputdownable!! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series and especially this last book. I received an ARC and wound up buying a copy to support these great authors.

It finally comes down to this as the final confrontations occur as all the different story lines all come together. It was full of action, adventure, danger and battles as everyone seems to finally be fighting together, kind of. It was fun and addicting to read to see how it would all end and if Saito's would win in the end. I was glued to the end to see what would be figured out this time and how it would all tie together. Plus had to see if the clueless would actually figure things out. Just a great story that was well written and enjoyed seeing everyone again. It has been a crazy ride. I enjoyed it as always.

Received as an ARC copy, this is an honest review. Time is a precious thing, but it may be the very thing that the AIC and the UEF no longer have. Even as the long time enemies band together to desperately outwit the Shapeless in the deadly game of suicide gambits as the city of Annapolis and Earth itself faces the darkest trials ever faced. Humanity's life hangs on a thread... a miracle may be its only way to finally survive the endless night brought on by the Shapeless and the Oblivion cult. The haunting, epic series ends profoundly stark as it began... with an adventure on a razor's edge of survival. Highly recommended.

It was a roller coaster of a series, with lots going on, battles galore, an easy to hate alien, and the valiant humans fighting to save their race, and not everyone survives to the end. There was a lot to resolve in the last book but it did all come together in a very satisfactory manner. I received an ARC and this is my voluntary and unbiased review.

That’s how you conclude a series.

While not everyone got their happily ever after, I think the character arcs had a satisfactory conclusion. It may not be what we wanted for them, especially in the beginning, but it was what was best for them.

What a ride

The Oblivion series was as well written sci-fi story as I have read.
Plenty of fully developed characters who all fit together perfectly to bring the saga to a well deserved ending .

Happy ending?

The finish was what I expected but are they really out of the game or only waiting for a chance for revenge?

It is always a shame when little kids can't get along and always want to fight. It's even worse when grown men and women fight each other to the death. Bad enough when we do it to ourselves, but when aliens get involved, well, all bets are off, so to speak. The UEF and the AIC must come together is they are to defeat the Shapeless. Eventually Captain Lee Saito heads to the Shapeless' home world, but will he alone be able to change the tide of this war? And what happened to Clarissa when she fold-jumped out of the fighting - with a Shapeless attached to her spacecraft? Joshua James and Daniel Young have done another wonderful job with this book. Can't wait to see what else this duo does in the future.
