Brian and Kenny are two teens with distinctly different feelings about their neighborhood Slowbomb. Brian would rather go unnoticed, while Kenny wishes to glean all he can from “the street life.” As they navigate through life, they both learn the consequences of the choices they’ve made.
Enjoyed reading about Brian and his life in Slowbomb housing projects with his best friend Kenny. They were just two young boys that wanted a way out of the projects, they both went about it two different ways. They were both trying to make something outa of nothing. Great read!
Nee Nee is a new author to me and I’m really loving her writing style. I enjoyed every moment of this book. Brian’s story felt so real— growing up in the projects, dealing with family, friendships, and the pressure of the streets. There are so many teens facing the same challenges Brian is. I loved how the people around him saw his potential, especially his talent in art, and didn’t let him fall off. It really shows how important it is to listen to the ones who truly want better for you. This was a great read and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND everyone to tap into this story.
