Pre-publication quotes "I do not think it is an understatement to say that it is a revolutionary book. It is obviously written with integrated courses very much in mind and manages to integrate the basic sciences with clinical information very well.... Maybe above all things, this is a very practically orientated book and really attempts to mould the medical student in to a very good house officer."

For the medical student or resident who prefers a concise yet thorough review of General Surgery, this book is a condensed, text book version of the larger and more comprehensive Cuschieri reference volume. Each chapter is followed by a review chart with all the salient points outlined in simple tabulated form. A quick read through these green 'Summary Tables' serves as a memory consolidation tool. Excellent chapters on the surgical management of Burn Patients and Pelvic Injuries.

This book is kickass. I think I like it better than Burkitt's Essential Surgery. It makes me understand things better, and I like the simple language it uses. I think even babies can understand it. I like it there's a summary at the back so I don't have to be thorough as to read the whole book.
