A small island near Puerto Rico filled with murdered party-goers and blood-stained cocaine leaves a deadly mystery for Marston, Holm, and the MBLIS team. And when the murders are linked a political kidnapping that ties back to the Dominican Republic, Ethan finds himself reunited with his old ally, Jake Header, and Header's allies in the Coast Guard.
But, with a fresh storm brewing in the Caribbean, can even their combined expertise cut to the heart of this newest mystery?
Matt Lincoln has lived his entire life on the coast and he wouldn't have it any other way. A lifelong fan of Travis McGee, Magnum PI, and just about anyone who knows their way around a boat and a good cigar, Matt now lives where the sand meets the surf with his beautiful wife, a son who reminds him way too much of himself at that age, and an Irish Setter who he can never seem to tire out. Life is good.
Too long; a lot of stuff could have been cut out, like all the sight-seeing and waiting around for something to happen. A lot of times I thought I was reading a tourist brochure for Puerto Rico and San Juan. It very seldom had me on the edge of my seat. I do like this series, but this isn't one of the best entries.
Reading them all but I think Matt may have been channeling his inner teenager a bit more than usual. Stilted and unusual use of language, weak on science, dialog, technology, small unit tactics, firearms, communication tech, boats, seamanship, capabilities of special forces members. Too much gushing, sauntering, leering, gasping. Ethan seems a bit of a hormone driven, emotionally driven trainewreck. Adults don't talk or act like that do they? Will continue to buy Matt's books though.
Great Read. As always. combined defined chats with exotic locales and interesting off-the-front page headliner plots. Maybe a hint of insider knowledge? Wholly recommend any Matt Lincoln story. Love the high-ranking format ! Only negative is you need a different proof reader. Numerous character reference & grammatical errors. Still a TOTALLY ENJOYABLE SERIES & READ. C. Brackney
Loved the book but, not a fan of the chapters being the first person. Just too hard to remember who's the character. That being said, you will not be disappointed reading this thriller. He has me hooked and I will read every book in this series. Even the new characters take on a great presence in the story. Alexandra was amazing. Pretty fast paced and incredibly descriptive.
I just have to say, Thunder Storm was harder to put down than any of the Coastal Fury books yet for me. I feel like I got my physical excersise just reading it too! I heartily recommend Thunder Storm to all that like fast paced, edge of your seat reads. Matt Lincoln has brought it all together with fun included. Thanks Matt!!
Though t love the stories, this one was hard to read because of all the editing errors. Not only were there words miss placed but there were time line errors and name errors. These errors really spoil the book for me. I would be glad to offer you my free editing services to help get the story right the first time.
Interesting and fast-paced. I like the stories bouncing around to different countries and locales. You get differing perspective , a taste of the local culture and a history lesson.
Another fast paced, enjoyably easy read. I have become a big fan of this series of adventures involving Marston, Holm & reappearance of another character Header. Cannot wait until my next literary excursion with them.
The author writes very interesting stories that allow the reader to visit the places in the book. And the character involvement is very well developed.
Have read the entire series and look forward to more. Great escape from reality and I mean that entirely as a compliment. Books that I can get lost in are hard to find.
Once again, awesome story! This was an easy read since there was excitement and lots of unanswered questions throughout. A touch to each emotion. Thanks loved it!
Sorry but you can't knock it out of the park every time! Not much excitement for me . I will continue to read your books but this one did not hit a home run for me.
