WRANGLED FATE is the first book in the Black Claw Ranch series. Though each will stand on its own, it would be better to have read them all and in the order of release.
I had already read books two through five and picked up the box set just to get to read book one. I’m not all sorry that I did!
It was great to finally find out Tansey’s and Ethan’s story. I’ve loved these bears and their mates, but it’s wonderful finally getting to the beginning and their alpha.
Great story and fun read.

SPURRED FATE is the second book in the Black Claw Ranch series.
This is a spin-off series, and you will revisit characters – This was the first book I had read in the series, but I know I bumped into some dragons, bears, wolves, and lions that must have their own stories. I wish I could read them all!
I loved this story of new beginnings – making your own path – defining your own destiny. Joss and Hunter are complex characters, but Cecilia Lane did an amazing job of presenting their twisted “meet cute,” relationship, and drama. There was plenty of sexy, swearing (or not!), and laughs in this enjoyable, entertaining, paranormal, suspense romance.
Cecilia Lane is a new-to-me author and I look forward to reading more of her world.

BREAKING FATE is the third book in the Black Claw Ranch series.
Sloane is feisty, sassy, self-assured, and strong. She is also the only human, the only female, and newly assigned to the SEA (Supernatural Enforcement Agency). Her transfer means living in Bearden among shifters who don’t trust humans as a rule and even less anyone on the SEA. She doesn’t know who she can trust, who will have her back. More than the transfer, her past has her keeping secrets, because of that undecided trust.
In most paranormal romances, she would find her mate in her new partner. I like that she didn’t. Instead, he’s one “bad news bear” of a cowboy.
Lorne also has a past that is holding him hostage. He’s holding his bear back from claiming the human SEA agent that the bear says is his mate!
I loved the twist and pull as they both tried to figure out who they were to one another. I loved the intrigues regarding Lorne’s family and Sloane’s previous department. I loved Lorne and Sloane together and at the Ranch.
In short, I loved this story and I look forward to returning to the Black Claw Ranch!

Imagine her surprise to see Alex’s name among the files of test subjects!
New business will wait, Olivia wants old answers first. I loved that she wasn’t weak. She may have been crushed, but she wasn’t destroyed! Her strength is going to be tested by Alex… and by his maker.
This was an amazing story. It was full of suspense, passion, and love. I especially love the love of the clan. They are great at teasing, tormenting, and pranking one another, but they will also support and defend against any and all who may come against them, including their own inner demons.
I’m excited to read Jesse’s story in BUCKING FATE in just a few weeks. No matter where Cecilia takes us, I know there will be passion, suspense, and love … lots of love.

WILD FATE is the fourth book in the Black Claw Ranch series.
We met Nora in WHISKEY AND WOLVES in the Shifters and Sin series and that same scene was shared in this story. Talk about a scary introduction to the shifter life! I’m glad that we got this chance to see that Nora was safe after Jensen took that risk to release her from Viho.
Jesse is the last of the Bears in the Black Claw clan to find his mate, but she may be the most special of them all. Really, all of the women are exceptional and perfect matches to their bears.
I’ve loved the talents and the companionship, not just in the couples, but also in the entire clan. This series has been wonderful, and I hate to say good-bye now that we’ve reached the final book. On the other hand, I know that Ms. Lane will bring us to more wonderful towns full of shifters and their ladies.

This is a great box set for anyone who loves a good shifter romance, all five books are standalone stories, the only thing they have in common is the Black Claw Ranch.
Wrangled Fate - Is an incredibly entertaining story which is exciting, gritty and very well written. It is also full of steamy chemistry between Tansey and Ethan. Tansey has come to Montana looking for her missing brother who has been turned into a wolf shifter, she just has to know that he's safe.
Ethan Ashford is a bear shifter, he's a rancher and is believed to be the last person to see her brother alive. He has been set up to look guilty regarding Tansey's brother's disappearance, perhaps by the same someone who is killing his cattle and rustling them too!
When Ethan first met Tansey he knew immediately that she was his fated mate but she's a human, will she accept him for what he is? Will he help Tansey? Can he find Tansey's brother and gain her trust? All whilst trying to find whoever is out to ruin him.
This book has it all, it's a real rollercoaster with lots of action, intrigue, suspense, passion, danger, and romance involving sizzling hot sex scenes and incredible chemistry.
Spurred Fate - Joss is a badger shifter who has moved to the Black Claw Ranch in Bearden she is trying to start over after her ex-husband's betrayal. I liked that there were all kinds of shifters involved in this story I think that added to it. There is Joss of course and a bear shifter called Hunter, another bear shifter a female this time, Joyce, whom I didn't like at all and as for Cal Joss's ex., he was one twisted soul.
I felt a connection with the main characters Hunter and Joss, I liked them. Their chemistry/connection was very complex not surprising when you think about their pasts but it's also deep and abiding. Apart from the obvious love story, there are bounty hunters, drama, intrigue, lots of twists & turns, and if that's not enough there is also humour, magic, danger and mystery, and traffickers, stalkers, all adding to this enthralling tale. Most importantly of all, there is love.
Breaking Fate - This book is as good as the two that went before it. I love this author's writing styles and I loved the two main characters in this one. They are both strong and seem to be fighting their fate.
The storyline is exciting and well written and has lots of detective work and danger with someone is trying to kill or maim them. At times you wonder if they are going to make it to their HEA, fate certainly hasn't made things easy for them.
Wild Fate - Troublemaker, troubled soul Alex is a troubled soul and troublemaker who can’t stay out of fights he's resigned to being put down one day because of his behaviour. Six years ago Olivia, who is a scientist, gave up on ever having a happy future with him.
This is a story about two broken people with broken hearts, who get a second chance at happiness, the story has action, love, and chemistry.
Bucking Fate - Nora was kidnapped by a vicious alpha wolf and turned against her will. But by a twist of fate, she escaped but seems to have just exchanged one terrible existence for another, but things may soon change as Jesse senses the need to mate with Nora but past circumstances have robbed them both of choices in their lives.
Nora isn't sure she can trust Jesse or his clan, especially with the secrets that she is keeping. Will Jesse and Nora be able to have a future together with the past nipping at their heels?

I'd already read books one and two of this series, but the box set was such a great deal that I switched to this rather than buy them separately.
Wrangled Fate
Tansey's mission to find her missing brother takes her to Ethan, the alpha bear on Black Claw Ranch. Ethan doesn't have time for a mate, no matter what his bear thinks, but he can't quite stay away from the woman.
I read the Lion series before this (wrong order, I know), so I had met some of the characters before. I enjoyed getting to know the bears, who are almost as dysfunctional as the lions! Tansey was awesome and I also loved Ethan.
Spurred Fate
Newly divorced Joss has moved to Bearden to work with her old friend, Tansey. A new relationship is definitely not on the cards, but then she meets Hunter. Yearning for his own mate, Hunter has always been disappointed, but every part of him knows that the pretty badger shifter is his mate.
I loved this story. The badger was a nice touch! Hunter was actually quite sweet and I also liked Joss. As always, there was a good storyline, loveable characters, steam, and lots of fun.
Breaking Fate
Sloan is an agent with the Supernatural Enforcement Agency. The sole human in the team, she has a lot to prove and is determined to give shifters a fair chance. Lorne Bennett is emotionally scarred from an upbringing where his human-hating family mauled his human girlfriend.
This was probably my least favourite in the series. I still liked it. I just didn't love it like I did the others. Sloan didn't quite have the same crazy vibe as the others and I missed that.

Alex is a bitten shifter and his bear constantly fights for control. Even worse, the shifter who turned him is stalking him. When Alex was turned, he ran out on his girlfriend to avoid hurting her. Now, she'd back in his life and he needs to keep her safe. Olivia was crushed when her boyfriend left. Now she's a scientist and newly arrived in Bearden to study bitten shifters. Discovering that Alex is one of her subjects answers some questions but she's still drawn to the man, even if he is surly and uncooperative.
I enjoyed this one. Alex is extra grumpy. More so than the others. I did like the interactions between the couple. My one gripe is that I feel the stalker was dealt with very quickly at the end and we never really got any answers.

Jesse is finding it difficult to be the only unmated member of the clan. Nora was held captive, changed and mated against her will. When she finally escapes, she finds her way to Bearden. Jesse wins her over, but she's keeping secrets from him and the clan.
I really enjoyed this one. I adored Nora and her clumsiness! And Jesse was a sweetheart.
Overall, the stories here are a great read and I'm looking forward to reading another series.

Mystery, secrets and romance come together for a well written story. Sloan the only member of the otherwise all male SEA unit. I enjoyed the courtship of Sloan and Lorne, two strong characters with lots of chemistry.

Awesome Box Set!!!
I absolutely enjoyed reading Black Claw Ranch Complete Series: A Shifting Destinies Box Set!!! This is five complete books in the Ashford Bear Clan. Each book reflects on one cowbear & his future mate and how it relates to business on Black Claw Ranch. Book 1 Wrangle Fate is about Ethan Ashford the Alpha who is a bear & Tansey who is a great cook and a wolf. Book 2 Spurred Fate is about Hunter Shaw a cowbear who is responsible for the horses and trail rides on the ranch & Joss Warren is a chef she handles all the food for the guests at the Bed & Breakfast on the ranch as well as all meals for the entire clan. Book 3 Breaking Fate is about Lorne Bennett a cowbear who runs the guides the trail rides and attends to the cattle & Sloan Kent is human works as an enforcer on the Supernatural Enforcement Agency Squad. Book 4 Wild Fate is about Alex Carter who is a bear that was turned by a rogue monster handles the animals on the ranch and occasionally helps with trail rides & Oliver West is an ex-human who is a Geneticist at the special lab for shifters. Book 5 Bucking Fate is about Jesse King who is second to the Alpha and is a cowbear & Nora Morgan is a waitress who is a wolf, who was turned and mated without her consent. Each book is full of emotion and plenty of toe curling occurs. Each book is more interesting then the last, and it takes you on a journey with this pack. I absolutely enjoyed reading Black Claw Ranch Complete Series: A Shifting Destinies Box Set!!! This is five complete books in the Ashford Bear Clan. Each book reflects on one cowbear & his future mate and how it relates to business on Black Claw Ranch. Book 1 Wrangle Fate is about Ethan Ashford the Alpha who is a bear & Tansey who is a great cook and a wolf. Book 2 Spurred Fate is about Hunter Shaw a cowbear who is responsible for the horses and trail rides on the ranch & Joss Warren is a chef she handles all the food for the guests at the Bed & Breakfast on the ranch as well as all meals for the entire clan. Book 3 Breaking Fate is about Lorne Bennett a cowbear who runs the guides the trail rides and attends to the cattle & Sloan Kent is human works as an enforcer on the Supernatural Enforcement Agency Squad. Book 4 Wild Fate is about Alex Carter who is a bear that was turned by a rogue monster handles the animals on the ranch and occasionally helps with trail rides & Oliver West is an ex-human who is a Geneticist at the special lab for shifters. Book 5 Bucking Fate is about Jesse King who is second to the Alpha and is a cowbear & Nora Morgan is a waitress who is a wolf, who was turned and mated without her consent. Each book is full of emotion and plenty of toe curling occurs. Each book is more interesting then the last, and it takes you on a journey with this pack. You will fall in love with each member, and you will laugh and even cry. I highly recommend reading this book set!!!

Wonderful!!! This is one of my favorite authors and series. Each book is about a shifter and the mates they did know they needed. With lots of danger, comedy, action, suspence and lots of sexy times. Individually the stories are standalones but they all have references to each other. A great read!! I highly recommend this title, you will not be disappointed!

Black Claw Ranch Complete Series box set contains all five books in the series by author Cecilia Lane. Heck ya this one is awesome. Each story will take you on a journey of trust. Some are gritty and down right dirty( just like we like them) & some are a bit darker. Yet each has its place- and you’ll love every moment.

I love this mythology, the way these shifters handle their beasts and the beasts communicate with them. I also love the stories, the real life “feels” that could be mine and your heartbreaks or joys. With just enough angst and action and a ton of romance these tales make for a lovely read.

You get 5 great books about bear shifters who all have their own stories and past. All the stories have great characters and plots, wolf and bear shifters and their fated mates. Well worth reading.
