This sci-fi romance was well written and well edited. My problem with the novel was the fact that it was mostly composed of some really dark moments and subject matter without being broken up with light or funny interludes to leaven the darkness of the overall story. The hero was kind and heroic and wanted the best for the heroine, so that is a plus. The novel opens with the entire crew of the spaceship the hero is on being murdered by a traitor to the crown. Then the hero is gravely injured by the traitor and abandoned on a slave planet where he is imprisoned. The heroine rescues him from the slave planet, but then they crash-land on a planet where the heroine is imprisoned in a cage and psychologically tortured for six months. The hero and heroine are released from the planet where the heroine was imprisoned, and she suffers from severe depression and PTSD. They get picked up by the nation the hero comes from, and the book is over shortly afterward. I think this book should have trigger warnings so that people who suffer from depression, anxiety or trauma are not ambushed by the very dark content making up almost the entirety of this novel. Another aspect to this novel I disliked was the complete lack of sexy times between the hero and heroine. One of the main reasons I read sci-fi romances with alien heroes is the hot sex scenes with alien anatomy, and this novel contained some kissing and heavy petting, but not sex scenes. This novel also ended abruptly without the heroine getting closure and a real HEA. This novel really could have benefitted from a home, baby, marriage and happiness epilogue for the heroine if the author did not want to include such a wrap up for the novel in the ending chapters. The biggest reason I read romance novels is for the guaranteed HEA, and this novel fails to deliver that in my opinion. Overall, this novel does well in the sci-fi elements, but it fails as a romance novel in my opinion.

When Meghan's originally introduced in the series she's 16, and I'm not going to lie, considering the ARcav are substantially older than humans (I'm talking hundreds of years old), I wasn't sure how long Ms. Hart would wait to tell this tale.

This story is darker and the suffering is definitely there in spades, but I enjoyed Methi and Meghan's story because it really takes a turn I wasn't expecting. It did help though when it came down to it, because it was the kind of experience necessary to allow Meghan to grow up and actually feel like she's emotionally ready for an HEA with Methi.

It wraps up fairly quickly, but having read the Christmas book, I understand the why. This is like my current go-to alien soap opera, and I'm still tuning in to see what's next.

Hmmmm.....

I really like this story as well as the series so far. What I don't like is the abrupt ending. It just stops too soon. Where's the reunion? What happens with the princess and her people? Does the General get his position back? They thought he was dead right? So the story feels unfinished.

Rescue mission

Meghan is shown growing from a sheltered Teen to an adult ready for her mate, Methi.
I read the story and felt like I wanted more. From feeling like her brain potential was not expressed (shown more of a regular teen) to the last quarter. Felt like most of book was slow and many parts unneeded, to the going home and ending. Felt like saying “this is it? WtF!” and I rarely use that language.
How about the author makes it up to us, with a short story, maybe a year or so later, with them having a baby, her doing work at the senior govt level, and he as well.

Okay - not as good as first 2 books

This was an okay book. I have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed in it, only because I know the author is capable of telling a much better story. This felt half-hearted.

Did I read the same book as the negative comments implied?

Ok... I have to admit... not everyone has the same experience whether; reading, seeing, tasting, touching, smelling, or hearing. I read some of the negative comments and all the things someone pointed out like lack of sexy times, unresolved issues, no closure, a hastily thrown together plot, an annoying heroine, and lack of closure made me almost not want to read this book, despite it being the Arcav/Human couple I was most hoping to read about... well, I am SO HAPPY that I did! Hope Hart hasn't steered me wrong or let me down yet! Just letting you know now... possible spoilers****
So the main thing is read the story until the end people don't skim. There may be some definite stressful subject matter in this storyline, but it shows the strength and evolution of the couple's characters both individually and as their relationship and understanding of one another matures. There are definitely scenes that are heartbreaking as well as heart-warming that have you rooting as well as going through all the ups and down with them. There are definite sexy times as well as heavy petting for those interested in the sex/erotica... as well as another piece to the Arcav plot that keeps you want to read more to see what happens. The Hero that has a reason for trying to save the heroine to keep her safe because of his own cultural stigma, which IS explained, as well as the Heroines. There IS an HEA as well as a resolution or rather reunion with the heroines mom at the end. Thank you Hope Hart. I can't wait to read the next installment!

Still love Varian. Still hate Jaret. I find it fitting that Brexa whom he cheated on his mate with and was screwing for Intel was feeding him false info. Jerk.. he can suck on that! Lol

Loved Meghan. At least she stole a ship she knew she could fly (unlike clueless Amanda). I was pleased that she was smart, confident, and didn't take sh*t- also unlike Amanda.

Methi was very sweet and loveable. Unlike a-hole Jaret.

I am so glad that this was better than Jaret's book. I was almost ready to quit series but this story has restored my faith :) I do wish there was more closure at the end. It seemed very abrupt. I would also have liked to have seen more romance.

A lot more fun than I thought it would be! We love a strong female lead and I'm so grateful that Meghan turned 18 before she left the planet and Methi still tried to give her time to grow up! Lovely couple, probably my favorite book in the series so far.

❤❤👍👍

This was the book I was most excited about. Meghan and Methi are such fun loving characters and because of that it seems their love story would be easy. Loved this book!

This story was a tough one, first of course it left a lot of unanswered questions which I hope will be addressed in the next book. What about Talis and Brexa, what plans do they have with the Grivath? Saria and Talen what happens to them on this trip to Fecax? Now to the story, Methi is assigned to Fecax but Talis kills the crew and leaves Methi on a planet after he stabs him on the leg. He's found and taken and caged. His inmate is a young girl who helps him heal his leg. Methi realizes the young girl is the Fecax Queen the Arcav's are looking for. Meanwhile Meghan is distraught when everyone thinks that Methi is missing or presumed dead, so she looks in the case and believes Methi is at the opposite area of space. When no one takes her seriously, she steals a ship and finds Methi on Durin, caged and rescues him. When they go to her ship, they discover her ship was stolen by the Fecax Queen who escaped, so they steal a old spaceship and barely escape Durin. As the ship travels in space, it's acting funny. Will they get home? This story was a tough one because I really like Methi from the previous books so I was looking forward to his story. Personal emotions seems to overtake the main story, with Meghan with her abandon issues and Methi with self doubt of being worthy than the romantic encounters and it's leaning more to the dark side with all the captivity. There's action, lots of drama in this ARC which I enjoy reading and reviewing but it's not my favorite in this series. (why the 4 stars)

Conflicted read!

This one for me was a difficult start. For one I happen to agree with Harlow here that I don’t give a damn if you’re building rockets and splitting the atom at 16 you’re just too damn young for a relationship...especially a life mate with some old dude with a couple centuries under his belt. So yeah, I’m on the statutory rape train with Harlow. Even them making out made me shake my head some. I’ve worked EMS most of my life and I’ve seen rape and worse and I don’t care even if it’s consensual there’s issues here. Yes, this is a book fantasy etc but shit got real. Ya know? I also didn’t like how Meghan talked to Harlow and hurt her feelings the way she did for protecting her. This book had me feeling all types of ways. Saria was also a basket case. I do hope there’s some closure on that planet. The queen really left an impression on me. The Fecax princess.... man, I have some real mixed feelings about that woman too. Like really? We could have went someplace and merged vessels wth are you thinking? Also I know they know technology and stealth drives but security protocols to get onto their vessel? So many unanswered plot holes here. Meghan just showing up was another. This book by far was the one that had me frowning. It was still a good book but it definitely challenged me morally And ethically. Something these books books don’t usually do lol. I’ll give this one 3.75⭐️

Stand-alone book with some interesting characters...

Having not read the previous books in this series, I was delighted at what a solid stand-alone read this book is. It fills in enough information about past events to make sure I was not lost but does not so completely relate them that I feel no need to read the previous books, rather it has left me curious to go back and seek them out.

Methi is an honorable warrior, struggling to fulfill his honor, live up to his goals and intents, and to be better than the man who fathered him.

Meghan has brains... an intelligence that is fierce and cutting, and if brains alone determined maturity, she would be an adult by anyone's standards. But she is just 17 years old, and while others realize she has more to experience and more to learn before she makes irrevocable decisions, she is determined to have her way now.

This story is full of adventure, personal growth, and moments that challenge these characters to be more than they have been in the past.

An inspiring read!
by sewsummore

Methi knew Meghan was his mate the first time he kissed her but when he knew her age he vowed never to mate her while she was still a child under the laws of his planet. That did not stop him from being her friend until he feared he was at risk of taking her too soon. He took a mission that ended in his being hurt and then abandoned on a lawless planet. Meghan was sure she knew where he was but no one would listen, in the end she rescues him herself only to find that their troubles were only just beginning. This story was one that encompassed many emotions joy, sadness, hopelessness and desire are just some of them. Their road back home took more than six months and during that time they were forced to be apart except of a few rare occassions. Their love saw them succeed in escaping their captors but there were still some hurdles to overcome before they could be the lovers and mates they longed to be. A inspiring read with a happy ending.

This is a intriguing Sci-fi alien romance with some mild dark undertones, although it is slightly different to the previous books I still enjoyed reading it. The well-paced plot is interesting with good world building & scene descriptions. The characters are well-developed, strong-willed & determined. There is some good support from the secondary characters.
There is: A hot Arcav Male (Methi), his unclaimed mate who is a human female (Meghan), conniving traitors (Talis & Brexa), a abducted Fecax queen, various kinds of aliens, humans, twists & turns, intrigue, some suspense, adventure, action, threats, danger, enemies, deceit, betrayal, traitors, spies, captured, imprisoned, rescued, escape, violence, conflict, determination, verbal conflict, head injuries, confusion, defiance, ultimatums, mating bands, a devious king, conflict, manipulations, disagreements, rage, frustration, apologies, trust, happiness, love & a satisfying conclusion.

Finally the Fan Favorite got the girl - Highly recommend this story and series!

This is the third full story in the Arcav series. It contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, adult intimate scenes and violence. Content includes kidnapping / abduction, fighting sometimes to the death, consensual / non-consensual acts.

If these types of scenes are not your favorite, then please do not purchase and then rate it lower than it deserves.

While this could be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend it be read in order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers as there are reoccurring characters with an overall storyline arc. Plus you would get all kinds of spoilers and miss some of the universe created.

I didn’t reduce the rating based upon the grammatical issues, as the stories and series were able to engage my attention and provide an escape from reality.

Meghan and Methi are friends. Methi is starting to loses his sanity. Methi knows that Meghan is his mate but things are not working out for them. He's getting bitter and he is trying to keep his demons at bay. He leaves Megan and when he goes she gets ticked. He's always been there for her when she needed him. This book felt different than the first three. There was lots of kissing but no steamy sex. This story was more for people who don't like to read about sex. They finally get there HEA. Methi went on a mission, not that he needed to, but cause he wanted to get away from his intended mate. Megan was only seventeen and the wait was killing him. He left no message, so Megan goes nuts.

Me this is tested a lot and when Megan finds him, she has to fight for survival too. And they thought waiting was bad...

Book four of the Arcav Alien Invasion series a well written story with a very good storyline that kept me turning pages. This is human Meghan and Guard for the Arcav Queen, Methi's story of suspense, drama, danger, confinement, an evil king, and romance. I wonder if the Lahmu Princess Saria and her guard Talen, will get a story of their own. I want to read the next book. I have enjoyed the series so far

This is been a very well-written series so far. The characters are likable. The world building has been very good. The storyline has been understandable and easy to follow. My one and only negative critique is in the first book there is a spanking sexy scene which I hate. No woman should be hit ever. It doesn't take away from the story though and was easy to skip through and mostly ignore.
