The forests surrounding the Rogue River are some of the most beautiful that Oregon has to offer. Unfortunately, the actions of an Archaeology professor and his students, excavating an historic cache of artifacts in a cave, make the forests the most deadly as well. An old Indian tribe had assembled the artifacts, centuries ago, to keep a monster from destroying them. Now the monster's progeny has been disturbed and he finds the humans both annoying and delicious.Dusty Denninger, his son and their friends must put the proverbial genie back in its bottle, or more accurately, the Sasquatch back in its cave. It refuses to cooperate and death, destruction and mayhem ensues.
Even though this book is called Sasquatch 2 it's not a sequel to the first book but actually a stand alone, and as good as the first book. In the first book the beasts had mates, but this one was strictly a loner but just as deadly. One thing about horror stories the characters you don't like almost always get killed. Unfortunately so do some you do like. Sounds like they'll be a third book I'm looking forward to it.
This is such a fantastic series and I can't wait for the next book. I've said it before and I will say again that if you love creature horror or anything Sasquatch this is a must read. Seriously, it has everything including great characters, lots of interaction with the Sasquatch, lots of scary, gory moments, and even a lot of humorous moments. I love the way this author writes. I am always drawn into his books immediately. More please and soon, Mr. Miley!!
Absolutely phenomenal series! Insanely well written & off the charts creative!…
I cannot say enough positive things about this series. Jeffrey Miley’s Sasquatch Adventures set of books is not your typical “creature” fare. This book, like the first— Sasquatch: The Cave — is solidly written & beyond creative. The imagery is complex & colorful. There is also no loss in depth of character development, world building, nor details featured within the plot line to simply just push another “creepy creature” book to publication. As unfortunately occurs all too often in this genre. Sasquatch 2: The Mask is riveting & thrilling. Everything you could hope for is here, as well as plenty of gripping shocks & surprises. Additionally, Miley does not shy away from including difficult emotional experiences. His use of emotive language is stellar. This author is truly a master of his craft. A treasure within this genre. And I cannot wait to move on to his next exciting tale. I recommend this title & series for readers who enjoy books across the spectrum. A read you will long reflect upon without a doubt (especially when you’re in or near forested areas! ;)!….
I think I'm sold on short stories for a while until I read one that irritates me lol
I had a really good time reading this story like the first book in this series it was a very straight to the point story started with a bang and ended with one. One complaint I do have and I think it's a fair one is the author has this tendency to give away events before they happen. Like for instance as an example without giving anything away let's say such and such character is having a wonderful and good day and daydreaming in his or hers head about visiting a girlfriend or looking forward to hanging out with friends at school but then all of a sudden the author will use a trick I cant stand he will say something similar too but such and such character did not know what was waiting for them and they will never go to school and hang out with there friends again. I'm not critical of the author at all I just dont like those kind of give aways before it even happens especially if I'm somewhat emotionally involved with the character's which is why I gave it a 4 for me instead of a 5. Good book though and it needs to be read by those who love good gross escapism in a world of monster's.
I have to come up with something different than the story being awesome. This story was fast paced, full of encounters with the beast and several casualties. Great read! I really enjoyed it.
Yes, I was mad when one of the characters died - didn't like that at all. But there is always some give and take, as I have said numerous times before.
All the characters were well defined and likeable. Obviously I'm going to have to read the next one in the series...
The story kept my interest every page of the story. I emotionally felt for the characters in this book. I would recommend it but it was a little graphic in its gory details.
What a book. I could not put it down. The father/son team was great. I felt sadness when Danny died, however you described his anxiety to a t. Premonitions go a long way.
This is the 3rd Bigfoot story I have read in two weeks. This one is every bit as good as the others. Jeffery B. Miley has become one of my favorite authors.
I liked this book a lot. It had a good story and action. But why kill off one of the main characters after the plot climaxes? Its a bit of an unnecessary thought. But it remains an interesting story.
No one is safe. Sasquatch is angry. The men are out trying to find it so they can kill him. But the kill count is growing, and it's not favorable for humans.
