Arcav Alien Invasion #6

The Arcav Captain's Queen

Rate this book
She wants her planet back...
...But all he wants is her.

Forced to become a monster to survive her father’s cruelties, Saria wants only one thing: To convince the Arcav King to help her lead her people out of the darkness and into the light.

She has no intention of mating anyone. Least of all Roax- the bossy bodyguard who the Arcav King ordered to be her shadow.

As an Arcav Captain, Roax never wanted to be saddled with the spoiled (and evil) Lahmu Queen. He’s heard more than enough about her wicked ways, even if her sad eyes make him itch to uncover her secrets.

As their chemistry grows hotter, and danger appears around every corner, Roax vows to protect the broken Queen with his last breath.

But his Queen is hiding secrets. The kind of secrets that may just tear them apart.

The Arcav Captain's Queen is a full-length romance with no cliffhanger and a guaranteed HEA. It's best enjoyed after reading the first four books in the series.

Read it now.

If you like hot, dominant aliens, kick-ass heroines, and steamy romance, you'll love Arcav Alien Invasion- Hope Hart's new sci-fi romance series.

I'm going to say it - I think this is my favorite entry in the series. I adore Saria, and considering her start in Meghan and Methi's story, that's saying something. She's the definition of the misunderstood, prickly heroine. Roax didn't get alot of play in the earlier books, so I enjoyed getting to see more of him - he was the perfect match for Saria. Their banter is solid, the chemistry was great and other than a bit of letdown with the final battle scenes (which admittedly, are hard to write), I really enjoyed all of this.

This is quickly moving up my list of auto-checkouts. It's the alien SFR series I needed to fill that Planet Blue Balls void. *blinks* yeah I know there's a dirty joke in here, but Imma let it go.

Oh this book made my heart hurt. Saria was introduced in an earlier book as an evil princess (now Queen), and she maintains that icy exterior here, but she is carrying so much pain. She’s a prickly FMC who is secretly a wounded bird inside, and of course Roax feels crazy guilty when he realises how badly he’s misjudged her. I loved this story and read most it a little teary. My only complaint is that the ending was a little rushed.

Another winner!

I love this series. It just keeps getting better and better. At first I wasn't interested in Sarias story, but gave it a chance as I really like the characters. So glad that I kept reading! As usual I can't wait for the next book.

I find myself interested to read this one. When Saria first showed up 2 books ago, she was a monster. But then as we got to see her a bit more we see that she was a monster because it was the only way to survive, that had she not been that way she probably would have been dead. And that the little good she could do was that, little and that it ate away at her.

Seeing Saria change was great! Part of it was being away from her father, part of it was seeing more of the worlds, the Arcav in particular and all the people (mostly humans) she came in contact with.

When Saria finally went back to her world, she made sure that everyone knew things had changed and that if there was any of those that thought like her father, they would go the way of her father. She has a long road in front of her to fix things for her people, but with Roax at her side, it will be easier as she can share her burden.

Saria is the Lahmu princess/queen. The males of Arcav and other species believe that she is evil like her father and don't trust her. Roax is ordered to be her bodyguard to protect her from others on the planet and he is not happy about the job. The human females don't have any problems with her as they understand the abuse she survived by her father and his men. As Roax and Saria get to know each other they begin to fall for each other. What happens when she goes to reclaim her throne on her planet? An interesting journey, you don't want to miss.

Can the Lahmu Queen win your heart?

I truly didn’t think I was going to like this book. I have put it off because I just didn’t think Saria could be redeemed. Boy was I wrong.

I have read all the Arcav books, and I truly didn’t think there was anyway I would feel for Saria. However, she and Road both snuck their way into my heart. We get to learn about Saria’s back story and the true horrors she had been through.

This book was great. I was surprised Ms. Hart was able to pull me in and make me forgive Saria. Roax was just a perfect mate for her too! Now I am excited to read Peyton’s story. If you like big loving aliens, strong women, and an interesting story, then this is right up your alley! Grab this series/book today! Can be read as a standalone but it would be better to read it as part of the series! Great book!

My favorite book in the series so far. I wasn't sure Saria could be a likeable heroine based on her previous behavior but she really won me over. This is a well written enemies to lovers story, and I only wish it could have been a little longer, as the ending felt rushed. I am definitely hoping the author gives us more of the intriguing Dragon King. 4 stars.

Another disappointment

I have continuously said I loved the first book in the series. I had high hopes for the rest of the series, but one book had actual cheating, multiple had promiscuous or formerly promiscuous main characters, including this book, and this book is sexist. The main species have dated mates. Why would they ever have sex with anyone else knowing their mate is out there or will be? That is nearly cheating to me. But all or most of the male characters have had previous sexual partners. What sense does that make when they have dated mates? The terms mansplain and mantrum are used in this book. Both are sexist terms. If it isn't right to be sexist against women, then it is right to be sexist against men. I like most of the female main characters, but being a strong woman doesn't excuse sexism against men.

Dragons AND aliens! What more could you ask for?

I absolutely ADORED this book! I loved learning more about Sarai’s past. The author did such a great job of telling the story of this “monster”, who really had a heart of gold. The romance between Roax and Saria was a slow build and not instant love, which was great. The story was absolutely incredible. The dragons were a huge surprise. All I can say is that there better be a dragon spin off with Bree and the Dragon King!

After reading Hope Hart’s Thesian series, I had to go back and read where it all started with the Arcavs. The Arcavs are an alien race, who have incredibly long lifespans, with a single Achilles’ heel: they go crazy if their meat dies or leaves them. The King’s brother, Korva’s, mate died. As a result, he went batshit crazy with the whole “if I can’t have my mate, then neither can you,” so he poisoned his planet, to where the females only birthed baby boys. In conjunction, he also released DNA into the humans of Earth to where some human females are compatible as Arcavian mates. He found humor in forcing his kind to breed with an inferior species. (Interesting concept, we have no choice but to go with it.) So the Arcav king invaded Earth, took away their weapons, and forced its women to submit a blood test. With no other choice, Earth is forced to cooperate.

Written in 1st person (my favorite) present tense, The Arcav Captain’s Queen is book 5 in this series and follows the alien Arcav Captain Roax and his Lahmu mate Saria. We met Saria in book 3 during Meghan and Methi’s crash on Huldra. They were taken hostage and Meghan was added to the Lahmu king’s collection, spending months in a cage. Saria helped in getting them off her planet, and her mother arranged for Saria to flee with them. Roax was the captain that rescued Methi, Meghan and Saria, and had been stuck as her guard on Arcavia ever since. Saria comes from a species that can fly (super cool!), and Roax follows her back to Huldra as her mate (of course). After a lot of drama, things work out, and they get their HEA.

It’s difficult for me to to review this book because I’m getting bored with the same story over and over again. While each book has different characters with different outlooks, each outcome is exactly the same. Boy meets girl, one or both have deep seeded issues that prevent them from accepting the mating, one saves the other from danger, both boy and girl get matching wrist tattoos that mark them as mates, boy and girl finally accept their feelings for each other and live happily ever after. That’s the bases for each and every book. And I don’t see it changing anytime soon. Unfortunately, I’m too invested to stop reading now. Lol

I will say that THIS book wasn’t between a human and alien, it was between two aliens. Which was a nice change. I was heavily irritated to see that the next book goes back to human and Arcav because I desperately wanted to read the story between Bree and the Dragon King. Grrr.

Saria and Roax play a game of cat and mouse with each other, both testing the other for weakness, all the while trying to ignore the growing chemistry between them.

Saria has escaped her home world and is seeking an alliance with Arcavia to head back home and reclaim her throne and provide for her people. Roax has been ordered by his King to be her personal bodyguard a job he both hates and secretly loves as he gets to be close to Saria.

I read the story in one sitting it is filled with betrayal, love, hate, redemption, forgiveness and a lot of heat. While Saria and Roax first started off combative they soon realize that there is a lot more to the other besides their public persona.

Once they let their guards down and lets the other person in things heat up in an out of the sheets. Saria has had to contend with a royal court that would eat you up and spit you out at the first sign of weakness her entire life and Roax has to go against his need to protect and care for his woman knowing that she is able to defend herself still doesn’t stop his protective instincts.

Thankfully there is minimal angst and these two are able to communicate as adults and get past their differences and tackle the real enemy together.

One of their hopeful allies is a dragon race and as they say I’m all in on finding out what happens next.

There are a few typos but nothing too much to take you out of the scene. The story moves at a nice pace without too much filler and you are more than primed for what comes next.

Roax, an Arcav Captain, never wanted to be stuck protecting the female, Saria. The reader can see his disdain for her when he enters her locked room and can hear his blatant disrespect in the way he addresses her when he hears her in the bathroom getting sick. He doesn’t know her secrets and what inner torments caused her such pain. She does her best to ignore him.

But for now, what Saria wants to do is convince the Arcav King Varian to help her people on Huldra, her home planet, where they live in the darkness of the mountain now because of her father. Her plan is to negotiate with the Dragon King, make restitution for her father’s waging war on them, and attempt to convince him to help protect Huldra from the Grivath her father is trying to negotiate with to set up a base -- which she says could endanger Arcavia. She asks for a ship and some Arcav to show the dragons she has the Arcav support. Unfortunately, Varian says no, he could not provide a ship for 42 days. Saria is not at all pleased and tells him if he does not provide the ship by then, she will leave anyway. To her dismay, Varian assigns the rude Roax as her new bodyguard!

Watching the interaction between Roax and Saria is entertaining with their ongoing hostilities. Will Roax eventually see Saria’s intentions for her people and earn her trust? There is much action and intrigue in this story, so grab your copy and see if they can sort everything out without bloodshed.

I've been entranced by this series these days. It made my quarentene! I was in need of some good series to make my "stay at home" easier.

This one was one of my favorities of the series. I don't usually leave a review, but I thought I should do it for this one.

In the beggining I thought I'd hate Saria, since Meghan was one of my favorties and suffered a lot in Saria's hands, but Saria is such a complex character... When you start to understand her, you understand that her world wasn't and couldn't be black and white... She needed to survive and when you need to survive you do what you gotta do.

She is strong and badass... As every woman written by Hope Hart, which is a big thing, in my opinion. I'm so tired to read about frail and weak women... It's was beautiful gift to come across such strong females leads! :)

So, in my opinion, the highlights:
1) Saria's background
2) Her planning to take her court back
3) The dragooooons, babe! That was a big and amazing surprise.
4) Bree coming along
5) Roax being such a good man... Loved how he was so dedicated and how he didn't step down when she presented a new challenge for them to face together.

What I'd like to see soon enough:
1) What happened to Bree, please! I loved her character for the beginning!
2) How Saria dealt with her internal problems... Sure, she has a long way to go to organize her court and to change their brutal ways...
3) I'd love to see a sequel of this one.

I know I said this about book 3 already, but this is definitely the best part of the series! The drama, the will they won't they is just perfect.i love Saria and I love the relationship she has with roax. Saria is such an interesting character and her terrible past just makes her more intriguing. I love her strength and determination to do whatever it takes.
I love how Roax tries everything he can, to respect her decisions even though it hurts him. Him almost dying actually made me cry. Her loosing her wings, because she wants to save Roax...I can't take it.
I couldn't stop reading this book, but the pregnancy in the end -shoot me dead! Why do they always have to be pregnant?

I'm also really excited about the dragons, I hope that they will play a bigger part. As a fan of the alien Warrior series I can't wait to learn more about them. I hope dragix will find out in any series of Hart's that there are still more of his kind.
Can't wait for the next book.

By Hope Hart

Saria escaped an abusive father. Needing the help from the Arcav King to save her mother and her people.
Roax was given the task of guarding Saria while she is under the kings protection.
I knew there was more to Saria when she showed up in the books. What she is willing to do for her people, she puts her own life on the line and then some. I recommended reading the books in order as ALL the characters have a role in each book.

The Arcav Commander's Human
The Arcav General's Woman

I really loved Saria. I was glad to find out that Talon had kidnapped her and she didn't willingly leave her abused, courageous, wonderful mom. I didn't blame Talon for what he did because he loved her mom and carried out her wishes.. (Hope he gets a book).

I enjoyed Saria training the women and empowering them. The women who were kidnapped and abused needed that confidence boost.

I teared up when Saria was in the training center and her wings suddenly flared up and after a struggle, she was able to fold them down. Everyone in the auditorium clapped- shocking and touching her.

It took me a little while to warm up to Roax, but I ended up loving him. My faves are still Methi and Varian.. I still detest cheating a$$hole Jaret from book2.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. The book is about a woman(Saria) that was from Huldra where she had to run from her home. Saria is trying to get the help of the Arcav King so they will help get a meeting to met with the Dragons so she make is so her people can move back to their lands out of the caves. Saria is trying to get her life as long as her peoples back to where they was before her family gone mad. Now would be the time to get the book. I will be getting more from this author. Thank You for writing the books so we can read them.

Saria moves to center stage

Readers met Saria in Meghan and Methi’s story, and while that isn’t required reading coming into this story, it provides depth to the backstory touched on here, and brings to life a lot of the emotional baggage Saria carries.

In some ways, Roax is a lot like his fellow Arcav, fiercely protective topping the list of descriptors. When Saria needs to visit Brin for some medical care we get some of our best insights into Roax, the man who, when you pay attention to his words, is determined to protect the ones he loves, in every way possible.

Wonderful story, from the previous book I didn't like the Lahmu Princess Saria but in this story we begin to understand why she acts like she does. Roax, Arcav Captain is assigned to guard her during her stay on Arcavia and at first he resents being her bodyguard but the more he is around her he discovers she is his mate. Saria doesn't want a mate she wants to return home to help her people along with the Arcav's help to defeat the Grivath. The personal battle between Saria and Roax begins on who will get what they desire as these two fight it out in this romantic story. I volunteer to read and review this ARC via booksprout.

Perfect and wonderful, like the previous stories empathetic, fluent, captivatingly told and emotional with a wonderful depth. The development of the characters is beautiful and comprehensible.

I love the moments when the self-confident, possessive, arrogant, overprotective and oot-dominant Arcavians reach their limits, when they have to deal with the real needs of their life partners, irritated and easily overwhelmed. These moments are so entertaining and funny.
The best sentence ever:
"Arcave makes. I sometimes don't know how you function with the amount of sheer testosterone that must be coursing through your bodies."

What a temptation to simply transfer this to men. 😉

I don't know why this author keeps insisting on giving the bad guys from previous books their own books. The heroine suffered a lot of abuse and had her wings mutilated so she couldn't fly at age 5.

She helped torture Meaghan (human heroine from a previous book) on her father's orders. Eventually she helped her escape and then escaped on the same ship.

Honestly I was more interested in Bree (sister with cystic fibrosis who was healed by the Arcav) Bree is the sister of a twin who is an Arcav mate. Bree is now spending 2 months with the Dragon King. Since Bree agreed Dragon King agreed to help Saria beat the Grivath.

3.5 ⭐️
This would have been a 4 ⭐️ easily, except for 2 issues.
The first half he’s an alpha-ass. Cruel when it’s not necessary, and lessens the type of individual he is.
Second, you have a kick-ass heroine who takes no bullshit … except at times from him?
After all she’s been through, survived …. These should be real trigger issues for her!
I found it hard to breath, and tensed at times imagining what it would feel like😳🫢

But the second half… awesome!!!❣️
Action, drama, romance. Awesome dialogue, DRAGONS 😍🥳
Need more dragon interaction!

(Side note, clearly the author has never had a snapped tendon 🤯😫)

Recommend. Just gotta push through those first difficult moments.

This book was totally awesome. I loved the characters of Saria and Roax. Arcav males are all alphas but they seem to meet their match with their human females. Saria finally escapes her miserable past and flees her home planet and heads home to reclaim her throne and help her people. Roax is ordered by his King to safeguard Saria as his personal bodyguard. I read this book in one sitting. Didn't want to put it down it was so good. Can't wait for the next book. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Saria and Roax’s story. Saria was introduced in the last book of this series. To put it frankly, she was a stone cold bitch. I didn’t think that redemption was possible, but it was! And Roax is the perfect mate for her. As with a lot of the books in this series, there are times where I’m literally laughing out loud. And other times where I shed a tear or two.

I would definitely recommend this series to fans of PNR/Alien romance books. But fair warning, the first book sucked. But the rest were very good.

The Arcav Captain’s Queen

Saria and Roax we met in the previous book with Meghan and Methi. He slowly comes to realize she is his mate while she is learning about caring for and about people and having friends. The storyline is interesting. While the Arcav can mate with humans there was doubt that another race could also be their true mates. I won’t tell much about how the story goes. But, it is rather interesting. There are sexual scenes that may offend some readers. I recommend this book if you are following this series.

Th Arcav are an automatic read to me and I have all the series in my collection. I loved reading them even this story where a Lahmu, not a human, is the female lead.

This explicitly shows never to judge a book by its covers. The Lahmu Queen is quite an unexpected package and it seems like the Arcav has good instincts when it comes to their mate.

Quick and easy read

I have read all the books in this series, and each one exposes just enough of the back story to keep me reading more.
Each book centres on a couple and this one was quite intriguing!
She had her wings cut off when she was just a child.. but now she has her wings back and a mate. She doesn’t trust easily and there are several times where they both need to take a breath.
