Stella Bixby is a native Coloradan who loves to snowboard, pluck at the guitar, and play board games with her family. She was once a volunteer firefighter and a park ranger, but now spends most of her time making up stories and trying to figure out what to cook for dinner.
Can’t get enough of Rylie and the rest of the gang. She’s back and of course stumbles upon another murder scene. Or is it? This is another fun, fast paced installment of the Rylie Cooper Mysteries and I need more!! Must read series for cozy mystery fans. It’ll keep you guessing until the end!
Another good mystery, in this one Rylie is in charge of a group of teenagers who are doing community service in the park, when they find an unattached artificial arm what appears to belong to a missing woman. It is also suspicious because the woman's husband jogs in the park every day in the exact spot where the arm, and later her shoe, are found. There is much more going on, as the woman's brother, who is trying to find her and asks Rylie for help, is shot. Rylie gets in deep trouble herself with her boss and with the police she is trying to help, but eventually figures out the real murderer.
Seriously, Garret????!!!! Don't get me wrong. Garret is a great guy. I get it. It's just not right. Rylie once again finds a mystery to solve. Only this time it's not exactly a dead body. It's more like a body part. Still she finds herself trying to stay alive as someone tries to silence her for knowledge she uncovered.
I recently found the "Rylie Cooper Mysteries" series (two weeks ago), and have literally been racing through the books. After finishing book 3 (Throttled), I was not sure what next to expect. However, Stella Bixby has more than delivered with this next chapter of Rylies life.
I feel like I am constantly searching for a fun, light mystery, that is smartly written. You would think with the whole Cozy Mystery genre, it would be easier. However, I have found that there are a lot of books that try and fail to live up to the hype. If you have read books by Shannon VanBergen (Glock Grannies); Kate Benitez (Amateur Womens Sleuth); or Chelsea Field (An Eat, Pray, Die Humorous Mysteries), you will love this new series by Stella Bixby.
Rylie has a lot of problems in her life, including Nikki who was Luke's girlfriend. And Luke leaving for two years to the Middle East. Then there's teenagers and finding fingers sticking out of the dirt... Oh yeah, that nice runner Jacob? Word is he murdered his wife. We all know Rylie can't help but get smack dab in the middle of trouble again. Another great book that had it all. Mystery, great investigating, romance, and friendship. Don't miss this latest episode of Park Ranger Rylie Cooper!
I am absolutely in LOVE with Stella Bixby's Rylie Cooper mystery books! Fun, fast reads. I love the short chapters and the excitement in each one. Rylie is such a lovable main character! You just never know what trouble she is going to get herself into next! This time is was her attempt to find a missing person, presumed to be dead.
This book has so many things happening at once with twists and turns that while it made an interesting story it shattered my trust in Riley's friends. There were sad goodbyes and WTH moments. It was not my favorite book of the series but it was still well written in the same spirit as the other books in this series.
Enjoyed the the self-deprecating witticisms of the main character. Waiting from page to page for the next surprise in the story line. Can’t wait for book 5.
WOW ! The best one yet but read 1, 2 and 3 first it helps build up the excitement. And some pretty sly comments too. Part of the time you'll hold your breath and part of the time you'll be laughing. Rylie is such a smart mouth. I love her.
Another great addition to this series! Will Rylie marry Derrick? Will Luke return from the Middle East and sweep her off her feet? I will definitely be reading the next in series to find out😀
This is a great read. The best so far in the series. The twist at the very end really was so unexpected. I loved it. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries and enjoys not dealing with foul language.
This cozy mystery series is so much fun. Park Ranger Rylie Cooper can't keep her nose out of investigations and she gets herself into some pretty dangerous situations.
This was probably my favorite of the series so far! I loved the twists and turns and how Rylie followed her instincts. This series is the perfect balance of mystery and a sprinkle of romance.
The Rylie Cooper series has settled down into dependable mystery books with a somewhat ditzy heroine. The first two books did not impress, the third was a vast improvement and "Tampered" ramps it up just a little more. After Rylie finds a prosthetic arm and a red shoe in one of the parks she works in she's disappointed when the police show little or no interest in attempting to solve a cold case involving a missing, presumed dead, one-armed wealthy woman. With her unerring ability to either find trouble or let trouble find her it is not long before she's in the middle of her own investigation. More murders follow and it appears that Rylie may be next! It's great fun and the final page has a cliff-hanger that made me laugh! 4 Stars.
This was my first time reading one of the Rylie Cooper mysteries. It is #4 in the series and I plan on going back and reading #1-3, not necessarily because I feel like it would have added a lot more to Tampered but because I REALLY ENJOYED Stella’s writing style and the characters. There were several references to past characters and events that I'm sure were introduced in the first books of this series, and I hope they are as exciting to read as Tampered was. Riley Cooper is a park ranger who has a knack for crime solving. With interesting characters, murder, deception, love affairs, friendships and lots of people who basically tell her to “stay out of it” and mind her own business, Riley can't help but to get caught up in solving the case - investigating what really happened to a missing woman who's cold case was reopened because her prosthetic arm was found reaching out of the ground on park property. This book was a quick read that kept me turning the page...fun for those of us who enjoy a little mystery with a little love and humor thrown in for good measure. If you've read the first books in the series, I'm sure you will enjoy this one. If you're like me and haven't yet....what are you waiting for??
Bixby's ranger-sleuth has a nose for trouble, and though she's warned off the case - several times - she just can't help but ask a few questions. That leads her into danger. Can she find her way out of it before it's too late?
I enjoy reading about Riley's adventures. She's quirky. She's determined. She's a little mixed up too. But it all combines into a fun package that delivers suspense, a bit of romance and chuckles too. Rylie Cooper Mysteries is a series I'm sure you'll enjoy; I'm looking forward to the next installment!
[Many thanks to the author for the opportunity to read an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review, the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.]
A wanderfull cozey murder mystery that starts of at high speed with caracters so diverse in in nature but bonded in in the deadly drama.I ammensly enjoy the strong female lead, a park ranger with a nose for trouble while finding the truth. What more could you ask for in a cozey,it has mystery, intreage, fisty caracters and a little romance. Stellar Bixby gives an exciting full read at high caliber writing. It's time to aquier a copy and start enjoying "Tampered "as much as I have. 🙄🤔😊Kat
What a creative mystery this was! Twists and turns, romance and drama, made this a captivating read. I love how the author makes you feel like you know who the murderer is, only to blow your theory right out of the water and keep you guessing until the very end! Of course there's always some humor thrown in with Rylie and her knack for trouble as well! I highly recommend reading this book and the whole series! Can't wait for book 5!
This was another fun addition to the Rylie Cooper mysteries. This was a good story and very well organized. This is mild plus for since there was a little language and a little innuendo. Definitely a hard to put down the book and worth reading.
