Injustice comes in many forms, as Big T and Shawna are discovering, while Helen's childhood innocence is shattered beyond repair. Survival is the only way of the world after the beginning of the storms, though one person still clings to the hope that they can somehow stop them in Storm's Fury Book 5.
Tired of the usual post-apocalyptic tale? Welcome to your new addiction.
Storm's Fury is a new, epic saga from #1 best-selling authors Mike Kraus and Justin Bell.
The skies above America darken as powerful, corrupt forces inadvertently unleash a disaster of biblical proportions.
In a quiet southern town, a lonely soldier lives each day in a bottle, forever regretting sins and losses of the past.
A young girl, caught up in the cares of the world, has her life ripped apart.
As the fury of the storm closes in on the country, two impossibly unlikely companions are forced to work together to survive - or they will surely die.
It's sort of unusual how Joel and Helen flipped roles (or did they?) Though I do love how Helen springed back to growing up full tilt. Joel probably just had to step back a bit (which might be considered the effect of being out of his homesteadsty element).
Nice doggy.
Laura, well, looks like she is a bit flunking her apocalyptic exams. (it's a good thing I already know how things went after this since I'm writing after having burned through the whole series).
Another great gripping story to keep you guessing as to what happens. No matter that you think you’ve figured it out, you’re wrong. Absolutely fantastic.
The action in this book is pretty sporadic and the groups are moving together very slowly. As was the case with book 4, I just find the situation with the park ranger unbelievable. I just can't see that a previously decent man with a happy family could turn into such a sadistic brute just because he was grief-stricken. That part turned a solid 4 into a 3 for me. I also wondered why Laura was surprised someone would shoot her. She has been running from people trying to kill her since Seattle. Joel has gone from a strong capable guy, even if a bit rough in manner, to someone who needs to often be saved by a teenager. The actual cause of the disaster and the people behind it did not get a lot of time in this book, though it does feel like a build up for something big in that regard is coming. I am curious about what is to come, especially the dynamic in Malcolm between Kramer and Carter since they are both right and are both wrong. And Helen....please give that dog a good name. He has been a very good dog.
The sensational family saga of overcoming the odds continues apace, in Justin Bell and Mike Kraus' epic Storm's Fury series: (An Epic Post-Apicalyptic Survival Thriller) Book 5, Storm Cloud.
At the same time as this gritty story of varying groups of survivors, (of the deadly subversion of secretly weaponized weather-wise satellites' effects) moves forwards, in a 'what if...? potential near-future apocalyptic scenarioic progression, it also fills in the motivation and more of the back stories of the main characters, as they seek safety and salvation at journey's end - wherever that may be.
Meanwhile, treachery, danger, doubts and death stalk ever-closer to the down-trodden, weary, injured and fatalistic 'pilgrims', who look to a very different tomorrow.
Jack and Laura are being held captive by a forest ranger who has gone insane, or was always a violent man? Joel and Helen are still headed to Wyoming on horseback, running from a crazy Albanian trying to kill them. Big T, Shawna and Salenda run into a motorcycle gang.
Exciting adventure with interesting characters. What’s next? Looking forward to the next novel in the series.
Enjoy the pacing and looking forward to more resolution in the next book or two. Really appreciate the connection between Joel and Helen and would love to see Helen finally get joined with her mother because of their experiences they could learn to love their strengths and maybe weaknesses that they will need to carve out a future together
Every time I think every possible Apocalyptic and Post-apocalyptic scenario has been written about and exhausted, some brilliant author cooks up a new way to end the world.
This particular series is like that -- providing an improbable but highly innovative entry into an EMP scenario and resulting events.
How quickly civilization breaks down. We live in a world completely dependent upon technology. We have either forgotten or never knew how to survive without this technology. The attention to detail pulls you into the story. You wonder how you would survive. I'm hoping when this story is finished that there are some good outcomes.
While Mr. Bell has succeeded in broadening the storyline, he’s filled in with more graphic violence and gore. I’m sure some enjoy that. I don’t. The scene between Ali and Joel was pages and pages of blow by blow disgusting scenes that seemed designed to induce vomit.
I am almost halfway thru this apocalypse series and it is a great read! Joel and Helen are still alive and traveling. Laura Park is still fighting for her life plus Shawna and Big T are fighting to continue on their trip. Lots of things have happened and many have lost their lives!
I liked this series a lot. I'm a big fan of apocalptic type stories and this was that. Had to stop at book 6 because the first 5 felt pretty completed. The later books feel like they're bringing too many unnecessary plot points in. I will eventually go back and finish the series, but had to take a break for now.
This is a great apocalyptic series. The characters are great. Story line tops most I’ve read. It’s all coming together! I cannot wait for the next book!! Pleassseeee write faster!!
Enjoyed the book. Highly RECOMMENDED. 15 more words required or they won't let me post. There should not be a requirement for how many words you have to type in a review.
Wow. You just want to keep on reading, then you reach the end of the book, you want more. Your kept engrossed, in each of the adventures, hopping from one to another, good guys, bad guys. Keep going on.
Love the writing style of Justin and Mike....strong characters and strong story ! Intrigue never stops, it just continues to build on itself....can't wait to continue the journey
Jack & Laura escape the deranged Ranger only to be attacked by an assassin. The Chicago group are chased by a motorcycle gang while Joel & Helen are pursued by an Albanian maniac. Will they survive the repeated assaults?

Our characters continue their journey toward Wyomie. Laura makes it but in bad shape. Others travel onward, fighting to find a place to belong. Book 6 is waiting.
Great story, 2 Great authors working together, Great story line, great characters, and action. I highly recommend reading all of the stories these two come up with, alone or together.
