Detective Kyle McBride battles to get drugs off the streets of Hope City and is sure someone at Kilton Pharmaceutical Company is key to the thefts of prescription fentanyl.
Bored in the marketing department of Kilton Pharma, Kimberly gets to use her journalism background to write human-interest stories about the employees. But her digging turns up more than she bargained for.
Working together, Kyle wants her information without involving her in his investigation, but never expected his heart to become involved.

As an Award Winning and International Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. I joke that I "cut my romance teeth" on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created.
My first novel, Emma's Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love's Series. From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.
My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with. I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.
I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters. When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!
I enjoyed this book, more as a police mystery, and linking/setting up the next books. This book builds on the case started in Carter, and the investigation is done really well.
I like the story and the side characters. The only thing that let this book down for me was Kyle the main character. I did not see much character development on his part. I thought his partner Alex was a better characters. I think Kimberley was done well but her being welcomed into the McBride/King family felt a bit rushed but as she knew a couple of the family members already that could be easily explained.
A good book and great interlinking between the authors with respect for each others' characters and stories. I am looking forward to the next one.
Great story of unexpected love and family. Kyle and Kimberly met one night, then she slipped away. They meet again in a most unusual way. Lots of action and drama. A bit of an insta-love feel. Kimberly did not have a family growing up, and fits and and falls in love with Kyles. Great getting to know all of the friends and family connections in this series.
Whenever I pick up a book by this very talented author, I know I am in for another thoughtful and engaging story. This one confirmed that point. Let me add that if like me , you have only read one of the previous stories in this series, rest assure that this is a stand alone. Kimberly Hogan and Kyle McBride meet one night at a bar, had a one nightstand and when she disappears the next day, he can’f forget her and she regrets leaving with giving Kyle only her first name. Never suspecting that their paths would cross again, and that their lives would change forever. From the moment they meet again by chance in a homeless “city”, a relationship begins. Again , not realizing they already had a connection. Kyle McBride is a detective in Hope City. He and his partner aim to get the drugs off the street . The latest robbery of a shipment of fentanyl manufactured by a local pharmaceutical, suspicions of an inside job are raised. Kimberly Hogan works in the marketing department . Bored in a job that doesn’t inspire , she jumps at the opportunity to write about the various individuals in the company. Digging into people’s lives puts her in danger , as does Kyle’s invasion of privacy. The story, filled with suspense and romance, was engaging from the first page to the last. Aside from the main plot, the author reminds us not only of the dangers of fentanyl and how it frequently is sold in the black market, but also about homeless . Individuals frequently end up homeless because of circumstances beyond their control. Leaving them and their families, children included, without a place to call home. We as a society, need to do more . Kudos to the author for that reminder. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Love this amazing series by the two of my favorites and very talented authors Maryann Jordan and Kris Michaels. Kyle is the 5th book and is the story of Kyle and Kimberly.
Kyle one night meets the beautiful Kimberly and they have a one night stand. But both of them can’t get each other out of their minds. Kyle McBride is a police detective and is investigating a theft of a prescription drug (fentanyl) that is manufactured by the Kilton Pharmaceutical Company. Kimberly Hogan works at the Kilton Pharmaceutical Company in the marketing department. She gets the opportunity to interview and write stories about people working at the Pharmaceutical Company.
Love everything in this book. The storyline was great. The chemistry between Kyle and Kimberly was hot. As always love the protectiveness of Maryann’s alpha males. Great seeing once again the McBride and the King clan together. Love how caring they are with each other. Rory’s book is going to be interesting. Can’t wait.
Another awesome addition to the Hope City Series! The story starts out with a bit of insta-lust. Police detective Kyle McBride wakes up alone after night with a woman he immediately connected with, he can’t seem to get her off his mind. But he never expected to run into her in the middle of a drug investigation.
“I don’t want our pasts to keep us from the future, Kimberly.”
I love the fast pace of this story. Kept on the edge of my seat with the suspenseful storyline, I never stopped caring about the romance and connection between Kyle and Kimberly.
“Bending, he kissed her. A kiss to claim and possess, but he knew it was she who claimed his heart and possessed his soul.”
Kyle is a standalone story but part of a wonderful romantic suspense series by two different authors. I’m really enjoying these books and can’t wait to read more of them. -5 Stars!-
Maryann Jordan is a master storyteller and it is evident in this book. This book is a standalone and not part of a series. It's Kyle and Kimberly's story. He's a detective and this story brings to light the dangers of fentanyl, how it's sold on the streets, and the dark side of the pharmaceutical industry. They had a one night stand and then she ghosted but fate brought them together again. The book is a romantic suspense that full of danger and overflowing with emotion. Fast-paced and full of action, This is a great book that's well-written with strong characters and a page-turning plot. I read an arc via the author and voluntarily chose to write a review.
Kyle is book 4 in this new amazing series by Maryann Jordan and Kris Michaels and I have to say I’m absolutely loving these stories😍
Kyle and Kimberly meet one night by accident at their local pub and hit it off immediately❣️However, unbeknownst to them both his most recent case and the company she works for are about to collide - will they survive the collision or burn up together with their intense chemistry?
I cannot wait to get my hands on the next books in this series and absolutely recommend this series to everyone, it is just that phenomenal - in my opinion🤩
This was an amazing book to read. We left off in Brody's book with Kyle chasing the girl in the red hoody, well that klutzy girl is Kimberley, a writer/ marketing personnel at the very pharmaceutical company Kyle is investigating.
This book is full of twists that keep you guessing, who is involved, who is behind the drugs and what is going to happen to all involved. Kimberley and Kyle have that insta attraction and lust thing going on when they first bump into each other. That heat only grows over time, combusting into an inferno of desire. A great all around read, romance, action and deception.
It is through Kris Michaels that I was introduced to Maryann Jordan as a writer. They have teamed up to write the Hop City series and together they write some tense, suspenseful and wonderful stories. I love some seriously alpha men and the women that tame them.
Love these books and the spin off series. They keep on getting better and better.
You don't know what you are missing if you don't read these authors work.
Hope City is a real City with real problems. Kyle and Kimberly’s story is wonderful. Love the back and forth tug between the two. Lots of suspense and romance . Very strong characters. Another hit for Maryann Jordan.
Another GREAT addition the the Hope City series! Kyle is particularly the McBride family and is also a detective like his brother. He is out with his partner and friends and meets Kimberly at his local hangout. They instantly connect and both are rather surprised about it. One night stands aren’t really either one of their ‘things’ anymore, but even though they have a night of hot sex together they both feel it is more though don’t say it to the other. When the morning comes Kyle is alone and Kimberly has snuck out so she doesn’t have to deal with the awkward morning after protocol. Neither knows the other’s last name or phone number and kinda wish they did because their evening was so memorable to each of them. Fate steps in and brings them into each other’s lives again in a very wild multitude of ways and they are both really happy about it!
Kimberly works for the company that Kyle is investigating but is not in a department where his drug investigation Is centered though she has a new project that unknowingly pops her in the middle of things. It is interesting watching her navigate around his world and see how she is involved on the periphery. Kyle is a strong alpha and used to getting his own way. Kimberly doesn’t come across as strong enough to stand up to him but she seriously holds her own and several times, I was so proud of her for doing so. She is creative and super kind hearted. I particularly loved watching her creative side bloom for her and hear about her inspirational story ideas. I loved watching her navigate the homeless women and their children in cardboard city by getting over her fear of being their alone and then by being so genuinely sweet that the ladies open up to her. She is an orphan with no one in her life to depend on and getting used to Kyle being around and wanting to help her is something she has to learn to adjust to. Kyle makes a few mistakes where Kimberly is concerned and has to work hard to regain her trust, which he does in spades. What I liked most about his part of the relationship is that he is simply rock steady for her and even when he does wrong, he figures out how to make things right. He never wavers in his feelings for her, right from the beginning he knows she is someone special and he needs to treat her as such.
If course it is always great to see all of the McBride and King families. I love both sets of parents so lovingly welcoming new partners into the fold, even if the partner isn’t in their blood family. I love the fact the Kimberly was BFFs with Kyle’s sister and he had no idea!
This story was just sweet. There was no drama or trouble in the relationship. It was very mature with both characters not into playing games. They knew the other person was special and tried to find ways to keep them in their lives, rather than throw up road blocks. Well done, Ms, Jordan! I absolutely loved Kyle and can’t wait to meet more McBrides!
This is book 4 in the Hope City series and can absolutely be read as a stand alone although I recommend reading the previous book since they are all interconnected and previous events are talked about in this one as well. Kimberly Hogan and Kyle McBride meet one night in a bar that they both frequent. Neither expects more than a night although they can't get the other of their mind after their night. They don't expect their paths to cross again, and they both feel regret over that. Kimberly works in the marketing department at Kilton Pharmaceutical company. And while this isn't the job that she went to college for, it does pay the bills until she can make a go of her writing career as she wants. When she is asked by the higher ups to write about the individuals in the company and to try to show the company in a better light after what happened previously, she jumps at the chance to do something closer to her dreams. Kyle is a detective with Hope City and he and his partner are trying to get the drugs that have been coming into town off the streets. And when the latest robbery of Fentanyl from Kilton, they suspect an inside job. He doesn't expect his path to cross Kimberly's again. Or for his invasion of her privacy to lead her into danger. Now he has to not only prove that he truly cares about but keep her safe in the long run.
I loved this one!! The chemistry between these two are there right from the start but there is also this huge connection that I truly wasn't expecting but I loved! Kyle is driven and is more than willing to do anything and everything in the pursuit of his job, sometimes to the detriment of others. But he is also this sweet and loving man who would do anything for someone he cares about. Kimberly is this sweet and beautiful soul that you can't help but like from the start. She has a heart of gold and doesn't let the things in her past drag her down, which I loved! This book had the romance that I have come to expect from this author but it also has plenty of suspense and some action in it to just keep you wanting more! I loved every bit of it!
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely loved Kyle (Hope City, book 5)! I think Kyle just might be my new favorite. I know I say that every time I finish a new Maryann Jordan book, but this time I mean it…I think. Kyle (Hope City, book 5) tells the story of Kyle McBride and Kimberly Hogan. Kimberly meets Kyle at a bar one night. They feel an instant attraction to each other. They have a drink, take a walk, and spend an evening at the closet hotel having the best sex of their life. Kimberly awakes early in the morning, and does not know the protocol for one night stands. She does not want things to be awkward when Kyle wakes up, so she slips out and heads home. All she knows is that Kyle is a detective. Kyle wakes up alone and is ticked off that Kimberly left because all he knows is her name was Kimberly and she is a writer. They have each been thinking about each other for an entire week when they bump into each other again, or should I say when Kyle tackles Kimberly to the ground and hand cuffs her. Kimberly works in the marketing department for Kilton Pharmaceutical Company, and Kyle is investigating Kilton Pharmaceutical. Okay, that is all I am saying because I hate spoilers. Kyle and Kimberly’s story is full of mystery, action, hot sex, and apologies…from Kyle because Kyle definitely oversteps. You will see a pattern of apologies in the Hope City Series. As with every MaryAnn Jordan book, you will find great character development, edge of your seat mystery and action, and a beautiful love story. You will see the McBride and King family make appearances. Hope City books 1 and 2 are co-written by Maryann Jordan and Kris Michaels, and the other books in the series are either written by Maryann Jordan or Kris Michaels. Overall, Kyle (Hope City, book 5) was amazing. Kyle is a must-read, and can be read as a standalone, but I would start with Hope City, book 1 because characters are introduced and appear in each of the books in the series. You really cannot go wrong with any books by Maryann Jordan. Cannot wait to see what Ms. Jordan has in store for us next.
Kyle McBride and his partner are detectives with Hope City PD. They are currently working to get drugs off the streets—specifically prescription drugs that can be combined with other drugs to make them more powerful and more deadly. Kyle comes from a big family and extended family whom mostly work as EMTs, DEA, firefighters, detectives. After work, they often find themselves at the local bar. Kyle’s days of one night stands are over. Kyle is interested in something long-term. When he inadvertently bumps into Kimberly at the bar, he’s willing to make an exception. But the one night stand leads him to wanting more. Without his mysterious woman’s last name or phone number, he’s at a loss. Until he sees her again...
Kimberly works in advertising at Kilton Pharmaceuticals. She’s bored and wants to pursue a career in journalism. When an opportunity arises for her to work on human interest stories, she’s thrilled! But her interviews start to cross the line and catch the attention of some not so honest people.
Kyle and Kimberly are genuine, hardworking people. They laugh and love hard. While they don’t always agree and Kyle screws up in a BIG way, they are forgiving and compassionate. I loved that Kimberly was raised in an orphanage, but she wasn’t bitter. I enjoyed her interactions with her family at the convent, Kyle’s family, and the homeless women and children. Kyle’s protective, but supportive. I was surprised by the twist in the end...I was totally wrong! I can’t wait to see what happens next in Hope City. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
Ms. Jordan takes us back to Hope City for Kyle McBride's story. The heroine in the story is Kimberly and Ms. Jordan has given her a past that includes growing up in an orphanage, the opposite of what Kyle had growing up. If anything, her childhood helped make her the incredible woman she is today. You see while doing some research for a work-related story to be published she gets an idea to interview other people in Hope City. She connects with her past and that brings her to the poorest section of town, the so-called cardboard cottages. Ms. Jordan sheds some light on homelessness and reminds us that good people with jobs and who don't use or sell drugs can fall into desperate times.
Ms. Jordan writes about Hope City in a way that brings a fictional city to life, one in which you could picture in any state in the US. Her characters are real and have flaws. Her stories suck you in and make you want to live in a place like Hope City and have friends like the McBride clan. It's as you have a seat on the sidelines as the story unfolds with intense chemistry between the major characters and the twists and turns along the way. I find myself wanting to know more about Kyle's partner Alex and the two other detectives that are mentioned in the story. I am intrigued by the people we met at the Carboard Cottages as well. That is what storytelling to me is about, sucking you in and making you care about the characters and that is what this series does every time. I can't wait for more.
This is book four in The Hope City Series and it is Kyle and Kimberley's story. Kyle is a detective for Hope City Police Department and he is investigating the illegal drugs on the streets after having so many drug related deaths. While at the pub with his friends he meets Kimberley and they end up spending the night together only for her to disappear the next day and Kyle has no way to contact or see her again which is something he would have liked to do. Kimberley works for The Kilton Pharmaceutical Company and she helped to design the brochures for the marketing department even though her background is in Journalism but now she has been asked to interview and write stories from the employees so that they can put the company in a better marketing position after all the bad publicity that they have had recently. Kyle and Kimberley's connection and chemistry is really strong but will they see each other again to be able to have a relationship. Omg there are twists and turns along with betrayal, secrets, pain, danger, hope and many difficult situations and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see what would happen next and this book was really addictive. Maryann Jordan is an amazing author and writer and I have read every single one of her books and I have never been disappointed and that is why I definitely recommend you read this book and others by her as they are definitely worth reading. I voluntarily reviewed an Arc copy of this book.
The action and the intensity of this story started with the first page.
Traveling through the downtrodden Cardboard Cottages, into the halls of the elaborate pharmaceutical company was interesting. The sterile walls of the Kilton Pharmaceutical company hide deep greed and treachery. It helps bring the drug addiction epidemic to light. The breakdown and explanation of this epidemic were on point. The idea that the greed of the almighty dollar causes the despair of drug addiction and poverty at the tent city, aptly named Cardboard Cottages is the truth, at its deepest roots.
The romance between Kyle and Kimberly is off the charts. They burn up the sheets but make sure that it’s not just sex. Throw in the intensity of Kyle’s job as a Hope City police detective along with Kimberly’s job as a writer, working on cleaning up Kilton Pharmaceuticals public image. Now you have a scenario that keeps you on your toes and guessing. Kimberly and Kyle’s romance is guaranteed to be a HEA, but getting to the bottom of the cycle of the drugs being put on the streets is nail biting!
Obviously, Maryann Jordan’s stories always leave me thrilled and satisfied. Once again, 5 well earned stars!
** I was given an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I will be buying my own copy as soon as the book is released for my own personal Maryann Jordan library.
This book by Maryann Jordan has all the feels From page one the suspense, action and the love story of Kimberly and Kyle will make it very hard to put down. The author has realistic situations throughout this entire story. She brings to light how pharmaceutical grade fentynal can be added to heroin to make an entirely stronger and more addictive drug. Her descriptions of a homeless city within the city proper are emotionally draining. The childeren and mothers tore my heart out.
Character development and storyline were evocative and realistic. This author never fails to keep the reader involved and ready for the next booking a series. Even though this book is part of the Hope City series it is totally a stand alone book. It is the first book I have read in this series and I didn't feel confused or that I missed anything. I will be going back to catch up with all the characters individual storylines. Marvelous writing and story make this book on not to be missed. Great job.
I have really enjoyed this series. I admit I wasn't sure how it would work with 2 authors writing individual characters but I LOVE it! This book was so good start to finish I had a difficult time putting it down. Absolutely had me guessing until the end which I LOVE! Kyle and Kimberly had an interesting start and she accidentally becomes involved in Kyle's investigation. They pick right up and are amazing together. He is definitely alpha. I always like that in MaryAnn Jordon books always discuss a real life issue, whether it's Veteran issues, PTSD etc. This series is great because it hits so many issues. It discusses the opioid crisis and homelessness. I liked the real discussing how families end up homeless and how they feel. This book had it all, a fabulous couple, a swoon worthy alpha guy, and a story that has you turning the pages trying to figure out who did what and why!!! This was a great story ahead always I love her writing and enjoyed every part of this book!!
Kyle McBride is also a Hope City detective. He and his partner Alex are trying to unravel the mystery behind prescription drugs being found that are killing homeless men in a bad area. When he meets a cute blonde and has a one-night stand which she walks away from the next morning, he is shocked to see her in the same homeless encampment area. They have an awkward re-meet, during which Kimberly sprays them both with pepper spray. They both feel a spark, though. Unfortunately, Kimberly is very involved in unearthing stories about local people,as well as doing the same for her employer, which happens to be Kilton Pharmaceutical, the source of the killer drugs on the streets. Kyle and Alex have a very convoluted story to untangle, and Kimberly is more involved than Kyle wishes, but they eventually solve their case. The Kings and McBrides make a few appearances, too, including a family dinner!
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, sadness, secrets, pain, suspense, and heartbreak.
The below is also in the series with this book: A Hope City Duet (Hope City, #1) by Kris Michaels Carter (Hope City, #3) by Maryann Jordan Brody (Hope City, #4) by Kris Michaels
This is Kimberly and Kyle’s story. Kyle is a detective that is trying to investigate a case. Kimberly is an employee of the pharmaceutical company he is investigating. She is trying to write some stories on her fellow employees when she stumbles on to things people are not going to want her to know. Now working together these two need to figure things out before the danger comes for them. One case could take them both down can they trust each other so one can protect the other?
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
Such a great read! Kyle is a detective for HCPD trying to get illegal prescription drugs off the streets. Kimberly works for a local pharmaceutical manufacturer writing brochures in the marketing department. Kyle is investigating a van loaded with drugs from the pharmaceutical company when it delivered to a pharmacy. The two meet at the Celtic Cock and have a one night stand with first names only and she sneaks out unsure of the proper protocol of the morning after. The two cannot get the other out of their heads. Kimberly is tasked with writing articles on different employees in the company as a PR move to help boost their status in the city. The two meet after a pepper spray incident at a local homeless “city” and Kyle is determined to make Kimberly his and keep her safe. This book has suspense, suspects, heartbreaking homeless conditions, family, friends, steam and love.
I love this new series. It has a grit and edge to the stories. I’ve read the previous books and love the way the authors don’t exactly crossover but do include the King’s as well as the Mcbride’s. This is Kyle and Kimberly’s story. They meet in a bar, classic one night stand altho Kyle didn’t think that. Kimberly inexperienced and unsure runs out. They both look for each other whilst completing their normal jobs. Whilst taking a new assignment Kimberly who’s background is journalism takes a trip to the cottages a homeless cardboard city. What follows is a investigation that nearly turns deadly. This book kept me hooked from the first page to the last. The love between these two is strong and I loved their connection. Throw in the two families and you have an intriguing, intense but awesome book
This was a great book it has plenty of twist and turns to keep me turning the pages quickly to see what awaits these great characters around the next corner. This was a story with suspense, danger and some chemistry. For me Maryann Jordan has written another five star story that will kept me hooked. The characters are well developed and intriguing. Kyle is a detective who is working hard to get drugs off the streets and he has some suspicion that someone at a local pharmaceutical company may be stealing prescription fentanyl. Kimberly is a bit bored at her job and decides to do some human interest stories of the people she works with but soon she stumbles onto something that may bring her some harm. This is just the start to a great book and I highly recommend it and can't wait for more from this talented author.
Another great instalment in the Hope City series with Kyle, a detective on the force who meets Kimberly at the local bar and they end up having a steamy night. Kimberly doesn’t do one night stands and doesn’t know the proper protocol when she wakes up and leaves Kyle behind with no way to contact her. Neither can forget the other and when he runs into her again, he isn’t letting go. They find out they have more than one thing in common but one of those things could ruin their budding relationship. A great read with steam, some suspense, amazing characters and a read I couldn’t put down. I liked these two, the easiness between them, little to no drama and no others coming between them. The story flowed beautifully and I loved seeing all the family members again....can’t wait for the next one!
Now the reason Kyle knows this girl becomes clear in the following chapters. It seems Kyle made a bit of mistake, not getting a phone number or even a last name from the woman he thoroughly enjoyed one night with. She was gone when he woke, and it seems he can't get her off his mind. Even going back to the Celtic Cock, where they met, to see if the owner knows who she was.
Kimberly has the same problem and it's as she's delving into a new project that she sees Kyle again. He's not happy about the situation and her explanation frustrates him as she bounces around the facts.
There are more than a few twists and turns in this book along with the sizzling relationship they begin or rather continue. I really love how we see everyone from the previous books and see how they are faring.
I'm going to catch up with Brody and then wait impatiently for the next book!
Kyle is working on the Hope City pharmaceutical street drug problem. Other Detectives plugged one hole, but if looks like it was just a leak. There's a much bigger pipeline coming from the Kimber Pharmaceutical. Now, to track it down. Meanwhile, he meets Kimberly, an aspiring writer. What he doesn't know right away is she works for Kimber, writing pamphlets for doctors and patients on the drugs the company makes. But she's given an assignment to talk to VP's down go the workers to create some good New loses for the company. Then a delivery van is robbed at a pharmacy. And 2 dealers are caught with drugs from that van. Things catapult from there, including an attempted murder of Kimberly. Kyle is beside himself, working clues to break the case. Then.....
After meeting in the local first responder bar, Kyle and Kimberly shared a night that was momentous for them both but didn’t get around to things like last names, phone numbers, addresses, that kind of thing. For the next week while Kyle continued looking into a pharmaceutical company for clues about the flood of drugs hitting the street, Kimberly was offered a break from her boring marketing job to write about the good things her employer, the same company is doing.
By chance the two run into each other in an unsafe part of town and realize they found something special. Going through the new couple exchange, Kyle realizes Kimberly’s assignment is drawing attention from inside and outside the company that some people don’t want exposed. It comes to a head when Kimberly and Kyle’s connection becomes public knowledge. Rating: 4.25stars
Maryann Jordan always always captures my interest and imagination with her romantic stories and marvelous characters. I fall a little bit in love with her heroes and want her heroines as a best friend. Kyle has just the right mix of suspense, intrigue and romance. Big pharma, corrupt corporate officials, drug trafficking and the plight of a homeless population are all spotlighted along with some great action and plenty of sizzle.
Kimberly Hogan and Kyle McBride couldn't be more opposite. He comes from a large, loving family and she grew up as an orphan. He's living his dream and she's still chasing hers. He's bossy and protective. She's independent and stubborn. It takes just one encounter for them both to be hooked. Their relationship moves fast but when it's right, it's right.
KYLE by Maryann Jordan. This is a wonderful addition to this series (can easily be read as a stand-alone). Kyle, a police detective, is dreamy. I adored him. He is not too over the top alpha, but just enough Kimberly is an independent and strong female character. She, too, is not so over the top. I like that Ms. Jordan has her be smart in her decisions about her safety, etc. the two together certainly had chemistry. They seemed to just fit together effortlessly. The story itself has danger and mystery, some heartbreak, love and family. I highly recommend this series, which is shared between Maryann Jordan and Kris Michaels, as it is entertaining yet easy to read. (received ARC for honest review)
