An innkeeper who reads minds. An ornery detective. And a trail of bodies. Cider Cove is the premiere destination for murder. Each book in the series can be read individually so dive on in! ***Includes RECIPE***
My name is Bizzy Baker, and I can read minds—not every mind, not every time but most of the time and believe me when I say it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.
It’s Thanksgiving in Cider Cove—and when another body turns up, I’m suddenly not feeling so thankful. Murder is being served up cold and my sister Macy is looking pretty guilty.
Bizzy Baker runs the Country Cottage Inn, has the ability to pry into the darkest recesses of both the human and animal mind, and has just stumbled upon a body. With the help of her kitten, Fish, a mutt named Sherlock Bones and an ornery yet dangerously good looking homicide detective, Bizzy is determined to find the killer.
The Country Cottage Inn is known for its hospitality. Leaving can be murder.

Psychic innkeeper Elizabeth "Bizzy" Baker Wilder is in the middle of things when she stumbles onto another dead body. About the best she can say is that at least this time the death wasn't at her cozy inn. Instead, she's downtown for the town's 100th anniversary celebration/harvest festival when her sister's arch-rival turns up dead, leaving Bizzy's sister Macy as the prime suspect. Naturally, she can't leave the investigating to the police (even if the lead detective is her husband).
If you like one of the Country Cottage Mysteries, you'll probably like them all (except maybe for the first one). After Just Buried took the series to a darker, more serious place, A Frightening Fangs-giving (and Butchered After Bark) returns the series to its light, wacky roots... which is good, but not as good as it could be.
"A Frightening Fangs-giving (Country Cottage Mysteries #11)" by Addison Moore is a little Thanksgiving themed. The events of the story take place over the month of November and end on Thanksgiving.
I had a hard time sticking with this one. It was almost too sweet in some places, then a bit more suggested romance and lustiness than I prefer in my cozy mysteries. So I would classify this one as a cozy paranormal mystery with a touch of cozy romance. It's cozy paranormal because there's the whole telepathy thing for the main character and a couple others. Also, maybe a ghost.
It's a fairly standalone book, but maybe I would have had more interest and attachment to it had I read the previous books. Bizzy's sister, Macy, has a shop in the main downtown area. Macy's ex-friend, Amber, is opening an identical shop across the street from hers. She and her business partner have also copied Macy's look. Quite honestly, Macy deserved a little of the torment that Amber was throwing her way. She was knowingly dating Amber's boyfriend and in general seems to be a bit of a pain in the booty herself. I was have expecting the sister to be the victim. Nope, it's Amber.
Bizzy Baker is the manager of the Country Cottage Inn. Today, everyone in Cider Cove, Maine is downtown for the Founder's Day celebration. The town is 100 years old! Bizzy is at her sister Macy's store. The two of them walk across the street. They want to see what type of store is opening just across from Macy's. Macy is shocked to see that the store is basically a duplicate of her own. And, what's worse is that the owner is an ex-friend of hers who is dressed up and has dyed her hair to look exactly like Macy! Macy is furious! Later there is a murder in the alley behind the new shop. Unfortunately, Macy becomes a prime suspect. Bizzy is determined to figure out who the murderer is. Her husband, Jasper, does not want her to get involved. Bizzy starts poking around asking questions of possible suspects. Bizzy is aiming to prove that Macy is innocent. She's hoping this can be solved by the upcoming Thanksgiving Day parade and dinner so that everyone can enjoy the day with their family. Love this series! This book can be read as a standalone but I really recommend that you read the whole series.

A Frightening Fangs-giving is the eleventh book in the Country Cottage series. Country Cottage Mystery series, it is part of a series, but could be read as a stand alone and you would be just fine. This series is about Bizzy, a fun quirky Inn manager that loves her quaint little home town Cider Cove. When is not your normal run of the mill manager when Bizzy was younger and almost drown she gained the ability to read minds. This has been a blessing and a curse. Cider Cove is turning one hundred years and they are having a huge founder day celebration during the month as well as getting ready for Thanksgiving. Across from Macy’s store there is a new store that is opening with the start of the founders celebration. But much to Macy’s frustration it is a carbon copy of her store by a carbon copy of her by the name of Ember Sweet. opening night seemed all good and well for a while, but it wasn’t long before Ember was found in the ally behind her store. Macy being her competition and being known that they didn’t get along put her at the top of the suspect list. Will Bizzy be able to find the real killer and clear her sister before it is to late and Macy gets arrested for the murder or will this be one case she isn’t able to solve.
In this addition to the Country Cottage Inn series, the people of Cider Cover are celebrating Founder's Day, the town's 100th birthday, and preparing to celebrate Thanksgiving. Bizzy's sister becomes the number one suspect in the most recent murder, because it happened behind the new store across the street from hers, which is owned by her ex-friend and look-alike. Against her husband's wishes, Bizzy begins her own investigation, determined to clear her sister's name. To top off the story, Bizzy finds three abandoned kitty cats. The animals of this series always add a little something extra, IMHO. Just love 'em! Come back to Cider Cove and find out if Bizzy is once again able to save the people, and animals, in her life.
The dynamic writing duo of this series, Addison Moore & Bellamy Bloom, never disappoint and this story is no different. Well done to the authors. I'm looking forward to whatever comes next.
Can Bizzy solve the murder before all of the celebrations are over? Now that there is a new business in town that is a copycat of Macy's and she is seeing red. Let us not add on top of that it is an ex-friend of hers that has opened this shop and is trying to be just like her. Now we can add on a murder of someone from that shop and everyone things that Macy has done it. Now it is all up to Bizzy to figure it all out and save her sister from going to jail.
Can Bizzy solve this murder too or will she have to leave it to Jasper and the rest of the police force to solve this crime? If you want to know then you will need to read this awesome book to find out.
This is a stand-alone read but I recommend you read every book in the series as they make the books so much better as you get to know the characters.

It's almost Thanksgiving in Cider Cove. Bizzy Baker Wilder is definitely living up to her name. She is definitely busy and her life is always on the wild side these days especially since she keeps finding dead bodies! Unfortunately her spicy sister Macy is one of the top suspects in this murder investigation. Bizzy has to work quickly to clear her name. Macy and her clear disdain for the not so dearly departed are not making it very easy. Then you add the possibility of an angry ghost in the mix and Bizzy has never been busier..... I always love the murder mystery/ investigation in Bizzys world but my favorite part of these books is the interaction with the animals since she can read their minds. The three new kittens in this book fit right in with the gang!

A rival shop opens directly opposite to Bizzy's sister's candle and soap store, and not only are they selling the same type merchandise, but the owner looks virtually identical to Macy.
I enjoy the characters, the coastal Maine setting, and most of all the delightful animals in this series, along with the fact that Bizzy can communicate with them and we hear their hilarious thoughts. Unfortunately, the author commits the ultimate sin of having Bizzy once again confront the killer with no backup. (Of course she earlier told her detective husband that she is perfectly capable of taking care of herself.) Why do authors write a fun, feel-good story, then spoil it by having the protagonist commit an incredible act of stupidity? With a little more thought, they could have frightening situations that the characters did not bring on themselves!!!
Celebrating Founders Day in Cider Cove should be a fun event to attend. Unless you throw a murder in! Yep, Bizzy puts on her investigative hat again despite her new husband's wishes. Bizzy has to help clear her sister's name as she is one of the suspects in this latest murder. With this book in the Country Cottage series we have the addition of 3 kittens who help the other furry friends try and help Buzzy solve this murder. Along with the furry crew comes Jasper, and Bizzy's family and friends to try and wrap this up so they can enjoy Thanksgiving together. Can Bizzy clear her sister's name, solve the murder, and avoid becoming the next victim? Read on to find out!
When an old friend turned frenemy of Macy's decides to open a store and change her appearance to mimic her, she is not amused. When said person dies on the stores grand opening night and Macy was seen arguing with her beforehand, Bizzy will again find herself at odds with her new husband as she realizes she'll need to clear her sister's name by catching the real killer. With her menagerie of pets and questionable sidekicks helping, she'll eventually succeed. Now if only she could do so without endangering them all by confronting the killer herself.
Glad her marriage survives another family member being charged with murder.
Bizzy Baker Wilder has got one interesting life filled with a lot of interesting people, and why would Thanksgiving be average. When Her sister Macy is the prime suspect in a murder case she sets off to prove she didn’t do it. From best friends, quarky old ladies, family, and a nemesis make for a memorable thanksgiving season. With her handsome detective husband and her furry menagerie it’s time to bring justice to the table. Hands down make you laugh out loud, and not want to put it down. Addison and Bellamy shine once again, can’t wait to see where they take us next!
This was another great cozy mystery in this series. It had all the Thanksgiving vibes all the while Bizzy and her animal companions set about to prove Bizzy’s sister didn’t kill her rival. There were plenty of twists and turns as Bizzy tried to put it all together. It had a really nice flow to it. Of course, the kittens cuteness didn’t hurt either. It was just a fun, and engaging cozy that I really enjoyed.

Every book in this series I've read so far has been phenomenal! I loved the 3 new kittens added to the storyline! Sure hope they'll have appearances in future books. They were absolutely adorable!!! I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. Kept me guessing right up to the suspect reveal who did the murder. Can't wait to get to the r book!!!!
Bizzy is certainly staying busy in this holiday book. She finds three abandoned kitties and her sister is the number one suspect in a murder. All the animals in this book are sweet and generous. I almost wish I could read my pet’s mind! I love the scenes between the newlyweds. Looks like there may be more of that next month!!!
Bizzy has done it again. And by again i mean stumbling upon the dead body of Ember. With her abilities and Fish and Sherlock Bones she's off on a new mystery to find the culprit, before Macy takes the fall. Of course she can't have a normal Thanksgiving. Can't wait to read what adventure see has next. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Addison and Bellamy are rocking Cider Cove!!! Bizzy is back, just in time to celebrate 100 years of Cider Cove!! Thanksgiving is right around the corner and murder is afoot!! This time it looks like Macy is heading to the big house! Can Mrs. Baker-Wilder solve this case and save her sisters behind in time?
This book was fantastic. I guessed who the killer was pretty early on - which is unusual for me - despite the fact that the “evidence” was pointing towards other characters. And the cliff hanger at the end was pretty strong, I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!
An Awful Thing To Remember Cider Cove is the premiere destination for murder. This is a great book to remember. Marigold has committed a crime but she almost gets away with it. This is the eleventh book in the series. I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
A very good story with lots of excitement and surprises. A little more quirky than I think was necessary but the plot flowed well and kept the reader engaged. Characters are warm and eccentric. Satisfying conclusion.
Bizzy does it again. Right at the very start wit the help of Sherlock Bones, Bizzy discovers a body. A person who looks just like her sister . A person who just happened to open a shop exacross the street from her sister's
Love all these books. Dislike the start if next book in series at the end and excerpts from other books. Would recommend to anyone who lives animals or not. Easy reading.😁
I have to be missing something with all the high stars for this one. I could barely finish it. I didn’t like any of the characters and the storyline was awful. I love cozies and was looking forward to finding a new one. Will not be continuing with this series.
