a poetry book through the journey through the struggles of mental health, trauma, and finding yourself. take the guidance that these words provide and bloom as a new woman, a new person in this world full of pain. let these words heal you, to let you know that you aren't alone in the way you feel. this is the book to take you to the place you need to be, trust my words and take them as your own.-thank you
this was really sweet and I loved the message that this book sent to its reader. you can really tell that this book was written from a very genuine place.
however,
there were quite a few spelling and grammar errors throughout the book, and I just really couldn’t connect with the poems. i’m not really much of a poetry reader either but I wanted to give this a try
Be The Blooming Flower by Freya Ede is a poetry book that deserves five stars because of its ability to really speak to me. The poems writen in this book were able to help me feel seen and help me heal. Published on June 8, 2020, the book explores themes that may be difficult for others to talk about out loud so I would place a trigger warning on this book as well. The book is split up into four sections of poems. The first section is titled “For When You Are Buried Deep”, the second section is titled “For When Love Plants Its Seed”, the third section is titled “For When You Want To Flourish”, and the fourth section is titled “For When You Are Blooming”. Each section is filled with poems to make you feel different emotions regarding anxiety, depression, self harm, and learning being content with yourself. The author uses a lot of analogies to nature in this book to convey darkness as well as growth. The tone of the book is extremely uplifting and makes you feel bright. I would recommend this book to people who need to something emotional and genuine in their lives; somebody who wants to learn about the process of healing.
This book was my first poetry read and I loved it. Be The Blooming Flower by Freya Ede was truly a genuine and emotional book that offered kind words and related to many readers. I found these words inspirational and helpful as many others felt as well. I wish I had someone who could have told me these words earlier, but I’m happy to find something like this in the end. Many of Freya’s words have stuck with me and I hold them close using them as a reminder that everything will be okay and that there is a purpose for everything that happens. I have learned a lot about the process of healing and I am thankful that I had come across this book.
There are many triggers in this book, so be wary. But this book is worth it.
This poetry collection was okay. It is short enough to read in one sitting. The author’s prose is simple and fits the style of poetry that is quite popular these days. I really liked the message of this collection, to use the poems as guidance to bloom as a new woman, to heal from trauma and pain. I thought that was really beautiful and there were definitely a few poems that stuck out to me. I also liked how the author uses analogies to nature to convey darkness as well as growth. I wish it was better edited, as I came across numerous spelling and grammar mistakes. And, I just didn’t connect to this poetry as much as with other collections I have read.
My teenage daughter told me about this book of poetry. I wasn’t keen on the first two thirds, but the final third was sweet, lovely, thoughtful and I enjoyed it. It’s lovely because it’s written by an online personality who went through some challenges and has reached out to her followers to share her experiences. From that point of view it is very powerful, young people need these kind of role models. Unfortunately there are a lot of typos. I don’t think they are on purpose, I might be wrong, but this is slightly frustrating. I’m pleased I read it.
This collection was filled with thoughtful messages and from the writing itself it seems (in my opinion) that the author is very understanding of how life is filled with many ups and downs and that it’s a process that we’ll always be in to remind ourselves that we’re all doing the best we can at the given time.
I will say there are some grammar and spelling errors and that would take me out of the reading experience at times and I’d have to reread pieces to fully comprehend what the author’s intent was due to these.
i like to come back to this book a lot. the structure is clever, representing the progress of the journey in recovering, meaning i can reflect on where i am through my own. yet recovery is not linear, you can take 2 steps forward and 8 steps back. i like poetry bc it can put these feelings towards the past, urself, the world, into words, allowing u to reflect with a deeper understanding of what ur going through, and i most definitely believe this book achieved that.
I really wanted to connect with Be the Blooming Flower by Freya Ede, but unfortunately, the poems just didn’t resonate with me. While I can appreciate the effort and vulnerability behind the writing, I found most of the pieces hard to relate to. The themes felt either too vague or too specific to the author’s personal experiences, making it difficult to feel emotionally connected. I know others might find meaning here, but for me, it simply didn’t land.
This one was good, but not one of my favorites. It had some great messages behind it though. I enjoyed 3/4s of the book, but I don't think it'll be one that I remember down the line like other books I've read. I think it might be because I've read similar poetry books and I've liked other authors a lot more.
I liked this book a lot but the format of it was way off. That’s why I gave it 3 stars. It was a simple but meaningful collection of poetry!! All in all it was a solid read!!
a very sweet collection of poetry, I only have 3/5 stars for the formatting. It was hard to follow in the kindle version and there were some spelling errors. However, the message is still clear of this sweet collection of poetry.
Knock-off Rupi Kaur/Amanda Lovelace. Last third was pretty good at times, the rest of it just didn’t really resonate. Too many mixed metaphors and even some spelling/grammar mistakes.
The formatting was a little off on the kindle edition but I thought it was pretty good. Her analogies and metaphors were beautiful and I would definitely read her stuff again :)
