Ya know, the ONLY reason I was drawn to this series in the first place was because of issue #2's cover art. LOOK at how beautiful dat shit is!! Orange and Blue? Check. Graveyard and symbolic contrast between futurism and rural aesthetics? Check. Female protagonist? Check.
That's three checks and it's looking pretty good!
Only problem is I started with issue 3 first. Then I got 2 and now... I'm not confused necessarily. But like, don't do what I did. Cause now I gotta read issue 1. And it will just complete the circle of reading backwards.
That said it's all very solid. I know it's like the law to compliment any comic book art regardless of whether or not you actually like it. But imma be real with you. I LOVE this art! Absolutely fucking love it. Everything from the lines to the colors. (ESPECIALLY the colors)!
It's also a well told story. Feels a bit like retread but for what it's worth, the pristine execution is what you're getting the most benefits from.
Out of most comics being sold right now this is the one I think is most promising.
