Rogues #3

Entrapped

Rate this book
If I wrote my autobiography about my life right now, I'd call it “Blackmailed by the Billionaire”.

Ruthless, callous, and self-serving are the nicest words to describe the powerful CEO who wants what's mine.

He'll use any method at his disposal to emerge victorious, including coercion.

Okay, fine, I'll concede defeat, but as his interest pivots I spot the opportunity for payback.

And hell, I'm gonna take it.

If you like your romances full of angst, heat, and fast-serve banter, then you’ll love Entrapped, the third book in a brand-new six part billionaire romance series from International Bestselling Author Tracie Delaney.

Anti-Hero, he's pretty ruthless.
"“I’m twenty-nine years old, and the most dates I’ve ever been on with any woman is four. And believe me, there have been a lot of women. And that fourth date? I’d only show up because I’d had a shitty day and I knew that a fuck would release some of the tension riding me. That’s the kind of man I am.'

He makes no promises other than the financial commitments he makes.

Other woman drama.
He thinks about having sex with a previous hookup before they get together but stops after some intimacy.
HEA.

Fabulous read

Yet another fab instalment in the Rogues series. What can I say about this series that I haven’t said before about Tracie’s other books because I’ve read every single one of them, you know.

Well, for a start, Garen is an absolute... insert the worst possible name you could possibly call a bloke here. I hated him for the way he treated Catriona but then, I suspect that was the authors intention.

Garen is a callous SOB, he’s a cut throat businessman always on the look out for the right businesses to buy in order to build swanky hotels on. This is where Catriona comes in, she runs a ballet school on a prime lot that he’s set his sights on.

The chase begins and there are a few tense moments thrown into the mix as well as a number of heartbreaking ones along the way.

A great, steamy romance that will have you turning the pages swiftly.

Boooooo

Terrible childish manchild says horrible, horrible, disgusting things to/about the woman he loves just to save face to his friends. Then, he blames it on some uncovered childhood bully. Then screams at her again when she, rightfully, thought he was doing something malicious.

And then she forgives him after the worlds worst apology because she just loves him so much.

I'M SO OVER THE LACK OF ACTUAL GROVEL IN THESE NOVELS. IF YOU'RE GOING TO WRITE TERRIBLE MEN DOING TERRIBLE THINGS TO THE WOMEN THEY LOVE, AT LEAST MAKE THEM REDEMMABLE WITH A GOOD GROVEL!!!

A good read but the least so far in my favourites. About half of the book I was thinking of ways to kill Garen. He was just too much for me. His arrogance deflates my eagerness of wanting to read more.

Now this book is a real enemies to lover with a happy ending granted Garren needed to grovel more but I loved the storyline and I enjoy how it ends on a happy ending for them but cliffhanger for the next book it’s interesting

For those that know me, they know I’m not a lovey dovey, sweet romance kind of girl. I very much like the alpha-holes, the anti-heroes and the downright dicks when it comes to my book boyfriends. As previously seen with this author, she’s not afraid to write these men. We had Cash in Winning Ace, Calum in Against All Odds and Draven in the book of the same name, Draven.

And I tell you now, that she has written another blinder of an alpha-hole. Another guy that you want to hate.

There were times when reading this that I wanted to throw my kindle across the room and punch the main character Garen in equal measure. Sadly I could do neither. But the urge was very much there and I dare you to feel differently. You’ll want to scream, shout and curse the name Garen and all he stands for....in the beginning. Now I’m not saying he does a 180. What I am saying is that you will fall in love with him, just as he is. You won’t have a choice, it’ll just happen. I fell in love with him and didn’t realise it. That’s his charm.

Now let’s switch over to the main F character, Catriona. There were times where I wanted her to have more of a back bone and there were times where she absolutely gave Garen what for and deserved and I loved that mix, that give and take, that push and pull.

Absolutely loved this book, from start to finish and I cannot wait to see what this author does next!

Great emotional read about Galen and Catriona and their path to happiness. Galen is a cold hearted, cocky and annoying man he wants Catriona’s ballet studio to build yet another hotel and he does not care what he needs to do or say to get it. At this point I loathed him and was ready to bury him under that hotel. Catriona is a strong, independent woman and she is working to keep her family, her little brother and grandmother, together but life keeps getting in the way. Her latest test comes in the smoking hot but yet annoying Galen, who takes advantage of her and blackmails her when her brother is diagnosed with a life-threatening disease and must get expensive treatment in Switzerland.

Swallowing her pride and letting Gallen blackmail her, she is forced to spend time with Galen to save her little brother and Catriona slowly falls in love with him while Galen shows her his softer and much nicer side until he doesn’t and opens his mouth and demeans and minimizes their relationship while talking to his friends and she overhears. When she tries to save face by trying to leave the relationship, he becomes a total and demeaning jerk to her. The things he says to her rips her apart and leaves her heartbroken and humiliated.

The book has great character building with amazing chemistry between Galen and Catriona, the love that develops is heartwarming and its heartbreaking watching Galen struggle to come to terms that he is in love and he does deserve to be happy. Both characters are strong, well developed with depth and easily relatable and the author did an amazing job highlighting and describing the emotions and feelings between Galen and Catriona and their growing attraction to each other. The supporting characters and relationships between them were realistic and well done.

The only problem I had was that while Galen and Catriona get their HEA, the cliffhanger at the end that leads into the next book left me wanting to read the next book now. A must read

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Oh sì, e in grande stile!

Buona lettura!

Verbal Abuse 1.5 Stars

There should definitely be Trigger Warnings for this book!

The "Hero" of this book verbally abuses the h from almost the beginning of the book all the way to 85% in. Anytime he doesn't get his way, he acts like a toddler throwing a tantrum but with misogyny and cursing thrown in. The excuse for this behavior is laughable, at best. Spoilers Ahead:

How he talked about her to his friends was gross and something only a grown man who had serious mental and emotional issues would do. And, even though the h wasn't a doormat all the time, after they get together in the last couple of chapters, the h says she deserved his last bout of abuse. There are other things he does that goes beyond just verbally being cruel and it was repulsive and unforgivable, imo. Like using her brother's cancer diagnosis to blackmail the h and humiliating her as a test of how far she'd go to save her brother. Also, the whole thing where he kept her dance studio and stuck it basically in the middle of his hotel is ridiculous and felt like a last ditch effort by the author for the H to be redeemed. It didn't fit in with how horrible the H was when this decision was supposed to have been made and just felt desperate.

I usually like books in this trope, but only when the progression of the story makes sense and they address any serious issues, not just sweep them under the rug. I like angst as much as the next person in my romances, but there was no angst; just annoyance at how the author handled the material. Do better and put trigger warnings in your books that need them. Hint: verbal abuse=trigger warning.

Oh Garen what a absolute A hole you was to poor Catriona, i loved this book as you got to love a bad boy that thinks he has it all but when it comes to women he hasn't got a tube of glue.

I was looking forward to reading this story about Garen one of the Rogues guys and boy what a story this one was. He was the most infuriating, callous man to start with and i wasn't too sure if he could redeem himself, but little by little he started wondering if Catriona was more as he never saw any woman after four dates.

Catriona is a feisty lady that takes no crap when it comes to her family and her business, but she has bury her pride and sell her business to help her brother with his illness and this is where Garen takes advantage of her situation and is a total asshole to her. There is lots of fighting and sparks being thrown around between this couple and you could cut the tension with a knife as this relationship to start with is going nowhere fast.

As the story develops Garen becomes more and more tender towards Catriona and we see a different side to him, but nothing lasts before he is being a totally a hole again, loved all the back and forth between this couple with hot steamy moments thrown in before they finally get to sort out this attraction that is developing between them. But seriously that ending OH BOY that was a huge cliff hanger, naughty naughty Author to do that to us poor readers. I now can't wait for Upton's story.

I do like this series but so many things in this book bothered me that I doubt I will re read.
Garen is this grumpy, sexy alpha male and Catriona is the definition of an independent bad bitch but as much as you start to see this other side to them, Catriona slowly starts to morph into the typical pick me girl and Garen's personality just changes so much that it is hard to believe it is the same character.
Catriona has such a traumatic past with losing her parents and her little brothers cancer diagnosis and it just made her stronger. She channels everything into her ballet studio that was passed down from her grandma. Insert Garen who is a billionare CEO trying to expand his business but to do so he has to demolish businesses in this row where he wants to make a hotel.
Now to the things that bothered me. The things Garen was doing to Catriona were so unforgiveable, he treated her like shit on the bottom of his shoe and the fact Catriona forgave him so easily just doesn't sit right with me, it is unrealistic.
Garen and Catriona's relationship did grow on me but I feel instead of character development it just seemed like I was reading a completely different story with 2 new characters. Aside from this, it was a good easy read and the spicy scenes were gooooooddddd but it is a forgettable story.

Garen is ruthless businessman and will do anything to get what he wants and he doesn’t care what he has to do or who he hurts.
Catriona is an very strong willed woman and will stand up for herself. She is a dancer and owns a dancing school that once was her grandmas. The school is everything to her. Garen wants to buy the school so he can tear it down and build a hotel. She is the only one that stands between him and his hotel. He loved the banter back and forth with her and getting her all riled up. He would do it on purpose at times. When her brother gets diagnosed with cancer and she needed money she decided to sell to Garen. Garen was happy that he can finally proceed with his plans to build his hotel but he wanted to know why she did the about face. She wouldn’t tell him. There is something about Catriona that made him want to spend time with her but he couldn’t understand why. What will happen when he offered to pay for her brother’s cancer treatment but she will be at his beckoncall. She was hesitant but she would do anything to save her brother. Will spending time together soften his hard outer shell?
While reading this book I wanted to throat punch Garen and give Catriona the biggest hug ever. Tracie knows how to tear my heart apart and then puts it back together.

emotional read about Garen and Catriona and their path to happiness.
Garen shows himself to be a cold hearted, cocky and annoying man ... yet he wants Catriona’s ballet studio to build yet another hotel and he does not care what he needs to do or say to get it.
At this point I he becomes a character to not like. Her latest test comes in the smoking hot but yet annoying Garen, who takes advantage of her and blackmails her when her brother is diagnosed with a life-threatening disease and must get expensive treatment in Switzerland.

Swallowing her pride, she somehow breaks her own convictions and allows Garen to blackmail her, she is forced to spend time with Garen... in order to save her little brother and slowly Cat falls in love with him while Garen begins to show his softer and much nicer side.... until she overhears him being demeaning and minimizing their relationship while talking to his friends. The latest installment of the ROGUES series… Oh boy! Be prepared for a cliffhanger of epic proportions. I swear this author is going to be the end of me with cliffhangers. I need the next book now!

To say it’s an emotional roller coaster is a bit of an understatement. The characters grab hold and don’t let go. They pulled me in and wrung me out. Be ready for the feels to fly!

Catriona has dealt with a lot in her life in such a short time, and the challenges just keep coming. One of those challenges comes in an overbearing, driven billionaire - Garen.

Garen is a shrewd businessman, determined to buy all the businesses in one section so he can build a new hotel in his chain of hotels. He doesn’t do relationships and just sees Catriona as yet another roadblock to go around to get to his destination.

What happens when two immovable forces collide? Sparks, fires, and a heck of a lot of tension! When they’re on, they’re on. When they’re fighting, they’re vicious. The road they walk is not an easy one, and their relationship is tested from the start.

Oh Garen you really are the one we all love to hate... I wanted to punch the hell out of him at all times. He is the stereotypical bad boy who doesnt care who he hurts/tramples over to get what he wants and right now he wants Catriona’s ballet studio and he doesnt care if he has to fight dirty to get what he wants . Catriona only gives in because her brother is sick and she needs the money for his treatment. Garen finds this out and has a proposition for her he will pay for treatment if she works for him.. is at his beck and call. The more time he spends with her he finds himself in untested waters as he is a love them//leave them kind of guy but his is finding he doesnt want to leave her. When she overhears a conversation between himself and the rogues its game over and she ends whatever they have and they are both lost. What can he do to get her back, will she take him back . I loved and hated Garen i wanted to slap him so bad. I loved the other characters they fitted in really well and that ending... oh i cant wait to read the next one.

This battle of the wills only gets hotter and hotter

Entrapped is the third book in The ROGUES Billionaire series. This story is about Catriona Landry and Garen Gauthier, who were introduced in the previous two books. Garen is Oliver's best friend and a fellow billionaire. They meet when Garen wants to buy the building that is her ballet studio. The other people around her may have sold up but Catriona is not going anywhere, no matter how much is offered. The studio means to much to her with the memories of her Mom, Dad and Grandmother. At one time she has been an accomplished young ballerina, until she injured her ankle. Garen is frustrated by the one woman who will not sell him her building. He has plans for the land in downtown Vancouver, Canada. He has plans to build a luxury hotel and he was determined to get his way. Who is going to win this battle of the wills.....my money is on Catriona bringing Garen to his knees in the end.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

After meeting Garen in the previous book, Enraptured, I was really looking forward to his story as I was expecting fireworks and trust me, I got them in spades once he met the very feisty Catriona!

If a-holeness was an Olympic event, Garen Gauthier would without a doubt win the gold medal. He was stubborn, ruthless, callous and at times just plain cruel, but there was something about him I couldn't help falling for, even though it pained me to do so, especially in the first half of the book! This man was infuriating, but I have to admit I got some comfort by thoroughly enjoying his inner turmoil, discomfort and utter confusion over his emotions and feelings for Catriona.

I loved Catriona, she had fight, sass, determination and a heart of gold and often gave as good as she got when she could. Family was more important than pride and my heart cracked for what she was forced to lose to help her brother.

Tracie Delaney has succeeded in creating two more wonderfully diverse, enthralling characters with multiple layers that grow in stature and warm your insides the more you get to know them, even if at times there is a real desire to throttle them. I say them, by them I mean Garen 😉

I loved this enemies to lovers romance. The tension, the chase, the heartbreaking and tender moments and the intense, steamy, fiery passion throughout kept me turning the pages until the very end......I cant wait for the next book after that teasing ending about Upton! Cruel Ms Delaney, cruel that we must now wait for more!

Garen may just be my favourite of the Rogues so far. Not to be messed with billionaire Garen is used to getting his own way with work and women. However when the only thing standing between him and his new hotel venture is Catriona the firefly dancer who owns a dance school right in the middle of the street Garen needs to demolish and she has turned down every offer he’s made to her so far.
Catriona hates the egotistical charmer that is trying to demolish her life’s work but she desperately needs the money to pay for her baby brother Aiden’s cancer treatment.
The most explosive relationship of all the Rogues but can Garen grow up and start thinking with his heart instead of his head?
I absolutely loved this story and I’m looking forward to meeting the next hot guy who comes along, cue Uptons story.

Let me tell you something: Garen is in another league by himself. For most of the book, you hate him because he is a pure red flag, but I don't know when you will end up liking him and rooting for him. On the other hand, Catriona is a saint, and I don't see how she accepts half of the things Garen put her through. At least she has a strong head and is intelligent. She is putting a stop to Garen's antics.

Entrapped is the third book in the ROGUES series, and it tells the story of Garen and Catriona. Of the six guys in the group, Garen takes the cherry on top as the most arrogant, selfish, and asshole of all. I'm still trying to understand how Oliver, the best of all, is his best friend because they are the opposite. Either way, apart from the male lead, Inteally loves Catriona and her family. This story was so different and unexpected that you get trapped and wish them a happy ending.

In the end, Garen has a good side, but only for the people he wants, so that makes him a little better. Their romance was passionate, and it needed to crash.

Oh the MMC made me angry 😡

As much as I love a morally grey MMC Garen made me angry. He was so arrogant and pompous until he wasn't. Oh the amount of times I shouted at him for how behaved, the back and fourth on his feelings gave me whiplash. I would have decked him so many times over. Catriona was far to soft. I loved the fierceness of her at the start and the way she stood up to him but she gave in way too easily. Should have made him work harder for it. Would have been nice to see Garen with his tail between his legs telling the ROUGES how he truly felt about Catriona and watching him squirm to win her back. I know they got their HEA but I'm left disappointed with how their book finished. I will continue to the fourth as I'm enjoying the series but this was definitely not my favourite.

He’s ruthless, successful, and a billionaire. Can have anything and anyone he wants at the snap of his fingers. Thing is that he’s an alpha-hole (yay for me). She’s stubborn and unfazed by him and that excites him. Shes about to lose everything she has worked so hard for because of him but not without a fight.

It’s the most perfect enemies to lovers romance. I am loving this Rogues series. Can’t stop saying how much I love Tracie Delaney’s writing. Love scenes were steamier than the 1st 2 books, so 5 stars for that. Reason I rated it 4 stars is because of the cliffhanger ending. The previous books didn’t end with a cliffhanger and would have loved to see a little more of Garen & Catriona.

5 Stars — Blackmail, Banter, and a Burn-So-Slow-It-Sizzles

Catriona runs a dance studio. Garan wants the property. So what does he do? Oh, you know—just casually blackmails her into selling by dangling the funds she needs for her brother’s medical care. Real prince behavior.

But here’s the twist: she doesn’t roll over. She fights back—smart, sharp, and unshakable. And somehow, through the tension, the insults, and the power plays, these two fall hard.

The chemistry is fire, the enemies-to-lovers slow burn is perfection, and watching Garan get emotionally humbled by the woman he tried to strong-arm? Chef’s kiss.

She gives as good as she gets, and he absolutely deserves the emotional chaos she brings.

This story? A delicious mess in all the best ways.

Garen, was a love & leave them kind of guy. As part of the Rogues group he had a reputation as a diehard bachelor.
Catriona, was a dance teacher at the family run dance studio. She lived with her Grandma and teenage brother.
The Rogues were planning to build a brand new hotel but two establishments were blocking their plan. Garen decided he needed to speak to the owner himself.
This is where the two stubborn attractive people meet for the first time. There was no love lost between the two of them.
As the story develops we see the characters struggle with the changes they see within themselves. Can leopards actually change their spots?
An easy read with some adults themes.

Third in the series.

I like to read stories about alpha holes, but Garen was just too much for me. Catriona put up with way more than she should have. He was cruel and their relationship didn’t last long enough for her to have the strong feelings she had for him. There were some good moments which redeemed the book somewhat.

Having read Oliver’s story, and knowing he and Garen are best friends, I expected him to be a better person. He’s not. The ending brought it together a bit more, and he did redeem himself somewhat, but it was hard to like his character. And really, can a hotel be built in 4 months? Everything just moved too fast.

Entrapped: The ROGUES Billionaire (3)

These books just keep getting better, cant believe I've now finished book 3 . Garen & Catriona's story. Catriona runs a ballet school, it was a family thing, she enjoyed it growing up, and loved now she was teaching. The ROGUES group wanted to build another of their hotels there, had already bought out all of the businesses in the area except hers and one other. Garen was responsible for getting it done, he kept sending in larger offers, she kept refusing. Then her brother got very sick, needed expensive treatment in Switzerland, so she had to cave in, accept the offer. He was cruel in his victory until he found out why

Why Forgive So Easily?

I really like this series so far and I did really like this book but it bothers me (across the hundreds of romances I have read) that the fmc forgives with barely an apology after the male main character does/says the most horrific things. This story is one case of that even though I liked the rest of the book. I just think a little more realistically a women would be more reluctant to forgive the types of things Garen said to Catriona. They may also question the history that lead to being treated like that and if he liked her for her or simply because she looks like someone from his past.
