In the near future, great woolly mammoths, revived through cutting edge genetic engineering, roam freely in the vast Siberian tundra. Ryan, Luca, and Dr. Lauren Shepherd are employees of the famous Pleistocene Park. They have been tasked with caring for and protecting the magnificent beasts that rule the massive park.
When deadly poachers threaten to destroy the rare animals for nothing more than profit, the brave park rangers put their own lives at risk to save the mammoths. The stakes are raised when the team introduces a new, and exceptional mammoth into the park, one that is a true marvel of science. The mysterious and dangerous Mr. Smith soon joins with the poachers, and plans to take much more than just valuable game.
Will the unlikely team of three be able to save the animals, as well as the park, or are the dangers and secrets hidden there, much more than they can endure?
So, just found out this junior high school school teacher who wrote this book is MAKING his students buy both of his raggedy books from Amazon and then they have to leave a five-star review to get a good grade in his class. And he makes sure to tell them NOT to mention that he is there teacher. What kind of unethical bullshit is this? His name is Brandon Downing and he is a teacher in Texas at York Junior High.
The author is a Middle School English Teacher and he is telling his classes to BUY HIS BOOKS AND GIVE 5 STAR REVIEWS - in exchange for an A+ on a project. Not to mention his verbiage when speaking to his students uses grooming tactics, he tells the classes he is only telling the class he trusts about this deal because making them feel special which is typical for grooming someone you have power over in exchange for something. This is deplorable.
Downing is a teacher. He LITERALLY instructs his students to give him 5 star reviews (or they can do an in-depth project that *actually* reflects their learning). He also makes sure to tell them: “do not say “he’s my teacher or I’m in his class or anything like that.”
That is verbatim from his slide shown to his CHILDREN students.
He’s gross and thus regardless of anything about the contents of this book, it should never be read.
This author (and teacher) has been leveraging his junior high students’ final project grades to increase book sales and buy Amazon book reviews for this title…disgraceful! Especially considering that not all students may be able to afford to buy BOTH of his books (which is required to receive a 100%) and would actually have to do the “26 page” assignment to receive a grade. So much for standing on your own merits! Unbelievable.
Is making his students decide between buying his book(s), and giving a 5 star review, and giving them a 100… OR reading another book, and writing a 26 page paper in it. Abusive, low, unethical. The also instructs them to not tell he’s their teacher. Grooming!
This author is a teacher who gave his student the “option” of writing a 26 page paper with a flip book or the option of buying his two books and reviews for an automatic A on a major assignment. This is deplorable and unethical. I will NEVER be reading any of this authors works. These students deserve a better teacher.
This book is amazing!!! I really recommend reading it. The emotional journey throughout the book is impeccable. I don’t usually enjoy reading books for fun, but I couldn’t put this book down even for a second. You need to read this book!!!!!!
This author is a teacher at a middle school. He’s been grooming children to buy his books and make them give his books 5 stars reviews on Amazon for an A+ as a grade. This is so wrong and disgusting.
This junior high teacher offered there students a 100% in his class, if they bought his two books, left reviews and showed him proof. He sells grades and buys reviews.
This book is sort of hard to describe. It is not a horror story, or fantasy story. The best I can come up with is science fiction with a dash of action adventure. The main characters Ryan, Lauren and Luca are likeable. However Dr. Church and Mr. Smith are not to be trusted, each having their own secret agendas. The mammoths are likeable animals that are far more than they seem. My only problem with the story was the surprise at the end. I did not see that one coming until it happened. Will I read the next two stories in this series? The answer is yes just to see if the bad guys get their just rewards for being the bad guys.
