This short collection of poems is written in honor of the fictional characters who inspire readers to dig deeper and fight harder. With themes of overcoming all odds and never giving up, fans of the manga and anime, Haikyuu!!, will enjoy these reflections about the Karasuno team players.
Growing up, Laura A. Grace dreamed of being a Sailor Scout and searching for the seven dragon balls so she could make a wish. Those dreams have continued to inspire her as co-founder and co-organizer of the devotional Finding God in Anime as well as a writer and YouTuber for Beneath the Tangles, a website that blends discussion of anime and Christianity. She also even started her own anime-inspired small business, Cheery Tangerine Creations! When she’s not busy brainstorming new pin designs or filming YouTube videos to convince others to read her favorite manga titles, you can find her playing video games with her husband and three children.
Come see what manga she is reading and recommending on her YouTube channel!
Team Lines is a beautiful collection of passionate encouragement to never give up and never step down.
The words of these poems are full of passion and a stubborn grit that stirred my heart. Creative and artistic, they're beautiful in every way--both in the artistic and meaningful formatting, and the heartfelt mantra of encouragement and inspiration. These are words I'd want to hang on my wall and remember always.
I technically knew about this collection when it first came out last year, but 1) as much as I love poetry, I don't exactly love reading lots of it xD, and 2) Haikyuu!! was at the time just this random anime that some of my friends liked to talk about. BUT now that I am 100% in love with Furudate's series, I sped through these poems in one sitting :)
And yes, each and every single one of them touched my heart because not only were they all true to the characters they're "dedicated" to--characters fans of this series know and love--but they were, at the same time, true to the readers. Furudate's characters are each so complex and layered, holding his own thread of the story; and these poems use that as an advantage to reach any reader. This review looks so calm and professional. While I was reading these poems, you can bet I was anything but.
Though I particularly recommend this collection (which is free to read on Laura's blog!) to fans of Haikyuu!!, I know it contains meaningful messages for those who aren't acquainted with it in the least. And yeah, I think that's really cool.
Team Lines is an extremely uplifting group of poems that gives the reader pumped-up encouragement. It made me want to be a better overcomer! Love it so much!
Team Lines is a beautiful collection of poetry, about the power of team work, friendship, and never giving up.
I have never been much of a sports person, but these poems can be enjoyed by anyone who is feeling discouraged or lonely. Laura's beaming personality shines through each of these word painting to show you that you are never without hope, encouragement, or forgivness.
The best part? This inspiring collection of poems is available to read for free on her website. Unicornquester.com.
What can I say? I read this because I love poetry, but I also know nothing about the topic it surrounded so that brought in a lot of disconnection. The poems were good and I would read a full poetry collection from Laura A Grace. Maybe we will get one someday. Maybe.
