Archer Austin induced sexual frustration may just be the death of me...
Everything in my life was just peachy, until my roommates ditch me and my brother Bates, gets the bright idea to move in and bring his best friend Archer with him. The more the merrier, he says. The problem is, Archer and I had a one night stand last year and now he’s convinced we’re meant to be. I however, strongly disagree because not only is he Bates BFF, I’m also his agent, and I need him throwing balls, not wanting me to play with his. There is no way I’m going to jeopardize my career by breaking that cardinal rule again. Nope, not happening. Unfortunately, he’s every bit as stubborn and determined as I am and what Archer wants, Archer gets. This time he’s not letting me go without a fight.
*A feel good romcom with all the heat that you'd expect to be feelin' in the midst baseball players locker room. Note: There were no jockstraps harmed in the making of this book.
Book 3 in the Unexpected Lovers series. Can be read as a standalone. Series order- Starfish (0.5) Flirty (1) Nerdy (2) Dirty (3) Risky (4) Frisky (5)
JB Heller is an average Aussie housewife and Mumma in her early 30's. She lives on a mini farm with her family and a few cows, sheep, a parrot, cats, fish, dogs, and a butt load of chickens. It's JB's dream to one day add a llama to the mix and an alpaca or two.
She writes across several genre's including RomCom, Romantic Suspense and Contemporary. You can always expect a healthy dose of heat, intrigue and wit in her stories.
Monday to Friday you can find JB glued to her laptop weaving words or trolling Pinterest for her next potential muse. Come the weekend, it's family time. (And of course lots of reading and Netflix binges.)
Stars: 3.5 rounded up Length: Novella POV: dual Series: Unexpected Lovers Book 3 (Stand Alone but Connected) Ending: HEA Re-read? No
"Loving him looks like the kind of happiness I never pictured for myself."
Well... I was disappointed by this book. I'm a big JB Heller fan and I've been blown away by the first two books in this series. I found this story disappointing. I didn't really care of either of the MCs. However, Asher was just slightly better than Lennon.
All I could think about every time I was in Lennon's POV was that scene in Holidate where Emma Roberts talks about how in all romantic movies the girls make up all these fake problems of why she can't be with a guy and just whines about it constantly. That's Lennon. Even when she still finally realizes that they aren't real problems, she freaks out AGAIN over something stupid. She was just annoying and spoke so much about how she didn't want a relationship and wanted to be alone that I also wanted her to be alone. Forget giving her a romantic ending. I could not stop rolling my eyes.
Honestly, it got a little better for me towards the end, plus there were some pretty funny parts with her brother. Those were the only reason's it got an extra .5 points from me.
I would say that I would just happily forget this one and move to the next book of the series but the next book stars Bates. And honestly, she's already made me hate Bates a little bit. I hate a man that's a hoe and just bounces around with several women a WEEK and can't even remember their names. It's gross. I don't know if I'm going to like the next book but I'll give it a try.
Archer and Lennon had me in stitches. He is a man on a mission to get his girl. After a very Hot one night stand, Lennon tries very hard not to think of Archer as more than just a friend and client. All Archer wants is for her to give them a chance and see where things will lead. When he pulls the ultimate trick by moving into her apartment, she cannot get away from her feelings and finally gives in to his charms. I so enjoyed their story and glad they finally got their issues sorted. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Another fantastic book from jb heller Archer really wants lennon, but really wants her job more to is she willing to give up the man of for her dream job to get to the top?? Sounds easy right nah lol this book had me hooked from the get go it was funny sassy and has abit of romance thrown in to aboustly loved it definitely one to get your teeth stuck in girls.
Abso-freaking-lutely amazing!!! Gah! I floved Lennon and Archer so much. Lennon is totally independent, strong willed and terrified of committing to Archer. Archer is just as strong willed and determined to win her over. Their connection is fabulous with lots of steam but some drama thrown is threatens their HEA. Another amazing story and I can't freaking wait for the next one.
Dirty: Unexpected Lovers Book #3 - J B Heller ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This series goes from strength to strength and I think that Archer and Lennon have secured their places as my favourite characters from this series.
Lennon is the kick-ar#e sports agent who’s he’ll bent on a no complications life. Her job is her life and her strained and awkward relationship with her superstar client Archer just keeps heating up.
Archer has it bad for his best mates little sister, his agent Lennon. He knows their one night together was a mistake but he just can’t shake her from his thoughts. No other woman can come close to what he feels for her.
With some great one liners, a heaping dose of angst and a whole lot of brilliant characters, this story will have you binging from cover to cover.
Great characters, fun story and a ready supply of super hot sex makes this a must read.... immediately after you’ve read the previous books in the series. After all, you deserve to understand these wonderfully quirky characters.
Archer and Lennon are everything! Lennon had to overcome a lot of her fears to even start a relationship with Archer! I loved seeing her grow. I need more Archer 😍😍
Oh, J.B!!!! Another home-run?! (See what I did there? hehe)
Ugh. I think this one is my favorite by far, because of the angst. I love me some angst. In this book, we get to know the story of Lennon and Archer (I adore their names!), after one night with each other, things are never the same for the both of them. One of them regrets it, the other one can't wait for it to happen again, but with something extra, something deeper and meaningful. Which one is which? You'll have to read to know, but let me tell you, it will blow your mind. Lennie is this top agent for the sports stars, and Archer is a top baseball player she represents, which makes matters even more complicated.
The characters were absolutely relatable and hilarious, J.B comes up with the most hilarious sayings and quotes that I for sure will be using again. I laughed, choked up and felt a warm fuzzy feeling while reading this book.
Yet another quirky, funny and frustrating hit from JB Heller. Lennon wants Archer, more than anything she's ever wanted except the job she's determined to be the top of... Archer wants Lennon, even more than the job he's already top of. They both want each other - should be easy right? WRONG! We all know you don't always get what you want, especially when the sexy as sin lovegod is your brothers best friend and your best client... and your girlfriends are all matching up and knocking up. Life and hormones are frustrating, a sex adict brother is frustrating, a tempting roommate is frustrating - a laugh a minute book full of confusion, denial, leaking amniotic fluids and a pair who need to get their heads, hearts and hormones all onto the same page before someone - possibly me, combusts.
I think Archer might now be my favourite H. He is a sweet alpha male who knows exactly what he wants and is happy to patiently wait for her to come around... while also stacking the deck so she has to see him! I love that Once Archer decided Lennon was for him, he didn’t whore himself out, sleeping with anyone who offered. (and being a pro baseball player he would have gotten a lot of offers.) We also get another glimpse at the hilarious Arlo! I love that kid and really hope he gets his own book! I love how JB intertwines the rest of the cast from previous books into each story. I think this makes her stories that much better! The only complaint I have about this book is that it ended... I could keep reading about all of these characters indefinitely..
Lennon and Archer have some serious chemistry in this book. Once I started to read Dirty I couldn’t put it down and had many chuckles to myself reading it. Love it like all the rest of J.B Hellers books
I absolutely love rom coms and Dirty is a wonderful example of why. Funny, heartfelt and a little bit steamy, I devoured this book and enjoyed every second of it.
Another JB Heller masterpiece. Funny, romantic and in depth relatable characters that leave you wanting more. In a year like 2020, you need a pair like Lennon and Archer in your lives! Honestly cannot love this enough. I’ve already started rereading and rate it a solid 5 stars!
Dirty is a romantic comedy at its finest with laughs, love and friendship. JB adds in humor to this best friend of the brother troupe. Lennon has had a secret thing for Archer for a while and one night they take things to a level that they never expected. Then, Lennon avoids Archer ever since the incident but Archer does everything he can to spend all his time around her. Archer’s plans are funny and witty which makes me love him just for the way he fights to get Lennon to see things his way. Lennon tries to act like a strong independent women but she needs what Archer is offering her. When Archer ups his game plan it will make you fall in love with his heart. I love a man that will fight for what he truly wants. I love the relationship dynamics in this story with all the friendships and family drama. This is a great read that will keep you laughing the whole way through. You will fall in love with the group of friends all over again just from being able to read about them again through Lennon’s eyes.
*I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review*
First things first; I really like the cover of this book! Dirty is the third book in the ‘’unexpected lover’s’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and hilarious. I devoured this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Lennon is a sporting agent that is at the top of her career and loves it. She has been in love with her big brothers best friend for a while. Archer has wanted Lennon for a while but will he get Lennon to give a relationship with him a chance? The chemistry between Archer and Lennon is clear to see and I loved them together. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series. I cannot wait for Bates story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is the 3rd book in the Unexpected Lover's series. This is a romcom with the sweet HEA ending and let's not for get those sexy scenes. Lennon is at the top of her career. She is one of the highest paid sports agents and is known for her take no crap attitude. There's only one person that has the ability to make her crumble and she is determined to keep him at arm's length. That is till her brother moves in her apartment and brings his BFF along. Archer will do anything to make Lennon admit there is something between them. Even make himself appear homeless. She can't ignore him if he's in her space all the time. I really am enjoying this series. I love all the banter between all the characters. Can't wait for more.
It was good enough, not as good as the first two, but fine. But then the ending was sooooo rushed, it felt like there was at least 2-3 chapters missing. No update on the biggest issue with their relationship (how their relationship being public will impact her career). They avoid having sex the whole book, which should be gearing up to a steamy scene solidifying their relationship, but no - nothing. This seems like a side quest to have news on the couples of the two previous books, rather than a stand alone story. Super disappointing because there’s not much missing from it to make it good, it legit reads as if chapters were deleted by mistake.

Dirty is book 3 in the Unexpected Lovers Series.the comedy throughout is amazing and so well written. The characters Lennon Handler and Archer Austin will leave you wondering how long lennon can continue to try and control and stop running from the fear that everything she has fought for in the career as a sports agent if she allows herself to fall for her brother's best friend, and her client. This is a wonderful sports romance read filled with a great storyline and wonderful characters. You won't be disappointed. This book can be read as a standalone story. Highly recommended reading.
Loved this book!!! Lennon is a strong-willed independent woman who wants to make it on her own. Archer is her brother’s best friend, and client, that she spent one night with months ago - but neither of them can get the other out of their heads. Archer pushes himself into Lennon’s life and wants more. It finally works and they get their happily ever after - of course after some drama.
This is a great story with cameos from the other characters in the series and blends in beautifully! Definitely worth the read!!
I’m kicking myself for waiting so long to read this! I absolutely LOVED the previous books, and this one was no exception. Though Lennie annoyed me a bit (girl! He’s perfect! Get outta your own way!!!) I really loved the interactions between the main characters and all the side characters. Bates is kinda icky with his playboy ways, so this next book will be interesting, but I love everything this authors written, so I’m sure she’ll find a way to redeem him.
Lennon and Archer made me smile with their blooming romance to their antics in the bedroom (and out). Lennon is a strong-willed career focused woman who has known Archer for many years and who also her brother's best friend and teammate. The shenanigans between Archer and her brother Bates made me laugh and you would think they were a couple of teenagers. Add in a mixed, quirky bag of friends and you have a stellar rom com.
This is the third book in this series that I read. I like that it’s a simple romance, with a small bit of conflict between the two main characters. Archer and Lonnie are a cute pair. I have to say that I hope Arlo gets his own story down the line. It’s going to take a special woman to grab his heart. Off to read Starfish, Hannah’s story. Then it will be on to Bates’ tale. Can’t wait to see what has been making him so “off.”
This is a great series to read is has romance ,issues and humour. I seriously cannot get enough of this series. Lennon us a sports agent who manages her big brother and his sexy best friend.
After one hot night Lennon must keep Archer at bay something Archer is about to put an end too. With a little help from her friends. Great read
Funny , this is a good change, the other are similar in some ways!
There were several amusing parts in the storyline and I had to laugh! Good stuff! The sensual moments were good too! Star fish method was really crazy. Now I got read all the books! Oh well , got to do it. Keep them coming!
I am loving the fact that Arlo is still the sassy teenage hormone filled bag that we loved from Kinsley amd Atticus' story... but is just getting older. I would have liked to have seen Lennon have to work harder to win Archer's trust and relationship back....
You can’t go wrong with reading this series. It’s such lighthearted, funny yet romantic book with some light steam. I’m so happy that I found this
“You’re not sold on us yet—not completely. And I won’t let myself have you until you know with one-hundred-percent certainty that I’m it for you. Just like you’re it for me.”
This was a great read. I loved getting a look at the other couples in the series. I totally loved Archer. He was such a sweetheart. Lennon needed to grovel a little bit more but I’m glad they got their HEA. I hope Bates book is up next.
Perfect rom com! Lennon and Archer were adorable together, especially Archer. Lennon is very career driven and nobody really rattles her except her brothers best friend Archer who is on a mission to make her admit she likes him. Such a cute story
Such a fun, quick read! I loved it! Lennon and Archer are sizzling hot! And the push and pull of their interactions creates the best kind of tension that puts them in some swoony (and hilarious!) situations. Another must-read—as is always the case with JB Heller!
Lennon and Archer were amazing! This is definitely a chuckle out loud kind of book that you’ll devour in one sitting. Lennon is fiercely independent and I loved her. A great read that is well written and so worth picking up.
I loved the relationship between Lennon and Archer. I really enjoyed the banter between them in the beginning and the slow burn of giving in. It was wonderful reading and I had to laugh at Bates and his antics. Loved the ending!
