This book is aimed at children between 3-7.

A positive and uplifting book for young children.

You can be anything that you set your mind on.

This lovely book showcases an array of different careers in an easy to understand way. Ideal for young children.

It is also very important for non-black children to read books with BIPOC characters. Differences should be celebrated from a young age.

Representation matters.

This picture book was written and illustrated by Jayla Joseph. It is an informative piece about children becoming anything they set their minds to achieving. Different career options are portrayed, and the illustrations on each of the career descriptions make it easier for the children to understand the context of each career option. More importantly is that the book has a BIPOC character which is important not just for black children but also for non-black children so that from an early stage, they can start to recognize the differences. There is so much clarity with the illustrations such that when the child says she can become a painter, there is an illustration of the child painting, and he says he wants to become a firefighter, the character is clearly shown wearing the firefighter work gear. The author presents several career options to illustrate that black children could anything they want to be depending on their talents and interests.
