"We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. Medicine, law, business, engineering, these are all noble pursuits, and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman: "O me, o life of the questions of these recurring, of the endless trains of the faithless, of cities filled with the foolish. What good amid these, o me, o life? Answer: that you arehere. That life exists, and identity. That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse.
What will your verse be?"

1) "We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. [...] That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. [Aquí Keating mira a Todd] What will your verse be?”

2) Toda esta escena: https://genius.com/Tom-schulman-dead-...

3) Neil: I want you in, but being in means you gotta do something. Not just say you're in.
Todd: Well, listen, Neil. I-I appreciate this concern, but I-I'm not like you. All right? You, you, you say things and people listen. I'm, I'm not like that.

I read it in one sitting, because i couldn’t put it down.
It was good , better than good. I loved this book and the characters, the characters were funny, lovely, incredible and just amazing. And the title… poems… the poems in this book were so heartwarming. This classic was really good now i need to watch the film !

O Captain! My Captain! It is not just a line from Dead Poets Society but a way of thinking that teaches the new generation how to live. The book inspires readers to see life from a different angle, to question, to feel, and to think beyond limits. It shows what real education means, not just memorizing lessons but learning the art of life.
Even today, there are teachers like Mr. Keating who encourage students to discover their inner strength and follow their dreams. Dead Poets Society is truly a masterpiece that touches the heart and celebrates the power of words, passion, and individuality.

maybe the problem was in the translation or that i read the screenplay version (couldn’t found book version) but it was so hard to read and i barely could remember the names of the main characters at the end of the book. but I'll give this book a second chance after i watch the film and next time will try to read it in english because everyone loved it so i guess the problem is me and how i read :(

Since the movie is a 5/5 for me, it is hard to give the same rating to the screenplay, which by itself doesn't fully correlate to the beauty of the film
