Do Mia and Bella not believe in a proofreader? Editor? Anyone that would help with the insane amount of spelling, grammar and overall issues with this book? It was so annoying and distracting!
I felt that Johnathan was a whiny little bitch and didn’t deserve Carrie. Carrie was a masochist because she kept allowing herself to be screwed literally and figuratively by Johnathan.
And THIS drives my crazy: “I shook my head in agreement and offered my leg to him.” Don’t you know the difference between a nod and a shake of the head?!
Also, Carrie’s name switched to “Cassie” in chapter 20.
I loved this story from Mia Ford and Bella Winters,,,,,
This is the story of Carrie, a college student going to college to be a paralegal,,,, she gets done with the semester and decides to blow off some steam and backpack into the mountains,,,, with a guide she has hired site unseen,,,, her roommate and best friend Kasandra isn't a real outdoors type so she stayed home,,,, Carrie goes and drives to the meeting point to find her guide,,,, Mitch,,,, he gets out of his truck, looking like a slob and Carrie thinks twice about going with him anywhere,,, but she has hired him, he should be ok,,right,,,???, so she and he start their journey,,,,
Johnathan is a loner who lives up in the mountain, with his dog, Jake,,,,, he has lived on the mountain for some time now after a pretty bad event happened in his life and then he decided to move there and be a loner,,, contemplating suicide on more than one occassion,,,, one night, Jake goes all ballistic on Johnathan and won't stop barking and jumping around until Jonathan lets him out of the cabin door., at which point he runs straight thru the woods to save Carrie's life,,, between Jake and Jonathan, they take her back to their cabin and keep her safe until she wakes, she has a head injury and a badly sprained ankle,,,,
Now, I've given you a couple characters and all,,, it's your turn to grab this book and give it a read,,,, find out what happened to Carrie???,,,, where'd the guide go???,,,, why is Johnathan alone???,,,, all good questions which can be answered,,, grab this book,,,it's even got some of that very hot steam included in it,,,,, just an awesome book,,,, I was honored enough to read and review this book,,, I would definitely recommend this book to anyone ,,,,

Mia Ford and Bella Winters have created a wonderful romance for us here to enjoy and I did enjoy it very much. Jonathan has given up on humanity, or so he thinks, after being brutally treated by an ex and his so called family turn their backs on him. He moved to the mountains to just be himself and not have to put up with so much deceit and lack of loyalty. Carrie is a college student and she has planned to go hiking in the mountains. She thinks that she's thought of everything but she hadn't and whilst up there she needs help. Jonathan comes across her and he decides, despite his initial thoughts, to help her. As they spend time alone and they get to know each other, we are given access to these two wonderful people learning to trust one another and developing very deep emotional bonds that turn to lust and love. Can Carrie help Jonathan learn to trust her and become a part of society again? Will he believe that his and her feelings are real or just lust because of proximity?? The passionate scenes between them are RED HOT and you'll need your fans set to MAX COOL, but they are so beautifully written that it doesn't seem intrusive. I was hooked at page one and entertained right to the end plus the bonus story, Claiming Charlotte, which has not been published before and is a great read too! I was rooting for them both and I loved the ending. I urge you to get get your own copy of this amazing story.
I received a reader's copy and voluntarily leave my honest review of it here. However, I loved it so much that I bought my own copy!
Carrie plans for a trip to the mountains and laughs at her friends worry about her going. What should have been just a normal hiking trip took a turn for the worse real quick. Jonathon lives alone on the mountainside with just a dog for a companion. One day while they are out his dog goes crazy and come upon Carrie being attacked. Jonathon pulls the man off her but before he can do anything else the man disappears. Jonathon takes Carrie back to his place to care for her and to decide if she'll be able to hike to the rangers station for help. When Carrie wakes up she is scared until she sees Jonathon and realizes its not the guy that had attacked her. While she recovered at Jonathon's place they grew close as they both bonded with the help of his dog. But can two wounded people trust another enough to try again at love?
This was an emotional story and is well written. The characters are drawn to each other and slowly build a relationship with one another. This story will have you turning pages just to find out what is going to happen next. I couldn't stop reading this book until the end and still wanted more. This is a must read in my opinion.
Carrie, There’s something about Johnathan. Somewhere, underneath all that hair and that amazing beard… is a beautiful soul. And yet, it’s not a wonder, I suppose, that you hesitate to trust him… even though he saved you…even though he’s kind of-- gruff and rude. He’s also kind of-- magical. You can see glimpses of him, shining out of his beautiful green eyes.
But there’s wariness in those eyes, too. He carries his own painful burdens. And meanwhile, he is such a man… Long and lean, warm and strong… And when he smiles, he is kind of-- beautiful. Not that he smiles that often… Well, at least his dog likes you.
The questions, and yes, doubts, I had at the beginning of this book were answered in some rather unexpected ways throughout the rest of it. Johnathan and Carrie were really well written characters, that I grew to like very much. Bottom line: Way more to this story than immediately meets the eye. 5 stars.
This is a story about Jonathon and Carrie. Jonathon was betrayed by the people that should have loved him most, so he moved to the mountains to live alone with nature and his dog. Carrie was betrayed and her trust shattered and wanted to go to the mountains to see if the solitude would help clear her mind buts ends up being attacked. Jonathon and his dog rescue her and he takes her to his cabin to have her heal. When she wakes she sees it’s not her attacker and eases a little. As she heals they find that they are helping each other learn to trust other people again. Will this lead to more as they help each other overcome their past to see a future. I love mountain man romances and “Broken” is certainly one worth reading. This story involves Jonathan a recluse living alone on the mountain because of a broken heart. Carrie is in need of a relaxing get away and decides that a week in the mountains with a guide is just what the doctor ordered. Carrie's guard ends up being a dirty, dangerous man who attacks her. Jonathan and his dog save Carrie from rape and murder and he brings her back to his cabin. The attraction between Carrie and Jonathan is read hot and undeniable. Can they act on their attraction and over come their trust issues? “Broken” is a well-written, emotional, and intriguing story. A must buy for a wonderful reading experience. Very well written sweet romance. Great storyline and plot. Characters have amazing chemistry and insta connection. They are well described and develops nicely. The characters both fight agains their past and present life. They have to work it through to get their HEA and their future. They have both to fight to find their soulmate but mostly it all comes when not expected. The story has a lot going on. It sometimes confused me but it all falls into place and make sense at one point. He saves her and protects her but it is still slightly different from other mountain men books. It has a charm in it that made me read on. Absolutely worth the read.
The story is not bad and the plot idea is quite good, I would have developed the story with more transport and more passion at some point you can really feel the need of the writer to finish the book, bored? I hope not because when you write you need to be really careful in what you transfer to the reader and if you jump fast to the end this is what the reader experience. I don’t know if it’s shyness or a choice but this book would have benefited of a stronger passion and more steamy scenes, plus maybe a good proofreading step and more grammatical attention, you really can’t ruin a good story and a hard work with a superficial attention to the particulars....
This book took us on a journey of one man and one woman who fight what is truly going on in their lives, figuring out if love and happiness does exist or if it's just another big fat lie. Does it mean that life can possibly go on or do you just give up. In this story we are faced with so many different issues, it liter drives us crazy but in the end everything comes full circle and love is definitely found. With each story you write we see many sides of you. This one is wonderful and worth the read. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy.
This was a sweet romance that dealt with some difficult subjects, but sweet and kind hearted nature of Carrue enabled them to persevere. Trap in the mountains after being attacked by her guide, she is stuck with Jonathan until her ankle heals. They are both dealing with issues, but Jonathan doesn’t seem to know how to let the past go and learn to trust again. Will Carrie’s perseverance be enough?!
A nice read, with likeable characters, and a take of hope and overcoming adversity. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Johnathan and Carrie's story is not your usual romance in that he has to save her and then look after her after she is attacked. They both have issues from their pasts that they need to work through, whether they want to or not. Can they do this or will it destroy them? What happens to Carrie's attacker? Broken was very well written and the characters were very intriguing and mysterious especially Johnathan.

When Carrie’s guide attacks her Johnathan just happens to be nearby to rescue her. He takes her back to his cabin and as she is healing sparks fly. Broken is a sweet second chance love story about two people trying to get over their past heartaches. When Carrie gets attacked while hiking in the mountains Jonathan comes to her rescue and takes her back to his place so she can recover. I loved these two together and how their connection grew the more time they spent together. This is an emotional well written book with believable characters. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
The way these ladies describe the scenes in this book makes the pages come alive and reach out to pull you into it's depth. Jonathan and Carrie's journey is a wild ride into the unknown the question is it love or lust ? Stay with them and you will find yourself lost in the pages and not coming up for air till the end. What started as a camping trip in the mountains turned into something much scarier you will see when you get your copy of this book.

Broken is about two people whose paths literally cross in the most unlikely of places. Johnathan and Carrie, though attracted to one another, build a beautiful relationship. It’s sweet and sexy and you can’t help but cheer for them. Their story is exciting, warm and dramatic. Definite recommendation. I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.
Who would of thought such a horrible ordeal would bring two broken people together. These characters were fantastic and with Johnathan's cranky attitude bring out the best in Carrie both having trust issues are able to comfort each other. This was hot hot hot and their chemistry was off the charts working their way into each others heart that they thought was lost and broken forever. I loved it
Loved this book, the usual drama, steam and angst to be expected Asian all Mia’s books.
Loved Jonathan, great to finally read about an alpha who is actually far more emotional and needy than Carrie. And poor Carrie, what a start to her adventure. This book kept me hooked till the end
