I would like to give this a better rating but I can’t. I am super surprised that the other ratings were so high. Which is the reason I bought the book. I have read so many MC books. I like them because the guys are pretty brutal in the way they talk and handle business but have this love for their club and family. Not all books are like that but the ones I read, I enjoy. This book was not that. It tried to be. The main character, Lane was having a lot of inner turmoil. That turmoil turned into fear of dying. This can be okay but sooner or later you have to take care of business and your MC. The author, in my opinion, needs a little more research in how hard core, prior military, free living, bust your balls men speak. It was not there. I was waiting on the grit. No grit. She tried. But when one of the guys described something as “Ewww”. I knew it would be bad. It’s a shame because the storyline seemed pretty good. I think I’ll pass on this series. Great covers. Was looking forward to book 3 just by the cover. Yum!
This book I don't know it didn't hit the spot she was trying top get justice for her BF who had been killed spent half the ti me of the book Harding the man then suddenly she likes him get it on and everything is forgotten it just didn't make sense to me it didn't tell you the mole didn't give any clarifications on who really killed her BF just not right on so many levels
Oh my! I love a good MC romance and this one did not disappoint! Lane and Angela were amazing! I knew when they first met it was going to be something special! I’m glad that after they got to know one another better everything fell into place for them! 💛
I just can't get over what a whiny cry baby the main guy was. How does someone right out of law school with no previous experience become deputy DA? Couldn't finish it. I like strong male lead especially one that's supposed to be the pres, this one was just lacking.

While the bones for a great read are there the execution is not. This is the first book by this author I've read so maybe it's just their debut or something. While not a total dnf I did struggle to stay engaged. The character plots are there but it never seemed to quite reach the peak. It genuinely seems like maybe the overall plot of the whole series was more hyper focused on then the smaller plot of lane/Angela and the basis of allowing the readers to learn about the mains and mc specifically. Add in the usual angst of mains having issues with life or love but typically the story focuses more on the HEA; whereas lane and Angela go from "she's just an angry hater" to being together without even really delving into Angela's core reasons for her actions (i.e. pressing more about the traumatic event involving both lane and Angela and at least 1 more mutual person.) I will say there was a really refreshing air about an MC prez expressing serious concerns/feelings about his role as a leader. Instead of the usual stubborn, arrogant or cocky mindset.
Maybe it was just a fluke or marketing ploy but I ran across this book rec in a group claiming it was a "gritty, spicy sex and mc" story. The romance scene were far less engaging than a made for primetime tv show. Not necessarily bad or negative just was alot more timid than I was to believe according to the rec. While there was sufficient violence in the story it just seemed very I don't know, "insert tab A into slot B type" plotting.
Also, having read hard-core 1%er style books by the ton seeing an mc officer refer to something with "eww" just gave less credit to the storyline of this is an mc series.
All in all I am willing to try another installment bc I do think there is a strong enough structure here for the series to turn exceptional. So please do not take this review as a hard "no" do not read.
This is a good start to a new MC series. A bad boy who doesn’t want to do bad , but has for the sake of the club. A good girl whose out for revenge for the death of her friend. It’s a rocky start but both Lane and Angela come to an understanding, that not everything is as it seems. They both remember the death of Shannon, Lanes girlfriend and Angelas best friend. In a time of uncertainty, they form an alliance and friendship that becomes a love story . Lane thinks he a traitor in the the Black Reapers and isn’t sure who to trust. Angela, is trying to take down the Fallen Saints MC, who are dealing drugs and terrorizing the town. It all goes to crap quickly when lane and the other Reapers are attacked. They find a way to pull thur with the help of an unlikely allies.
Lane and Angela, two different points of view on one subject. Oil and Water. She wants him arrested, he wants her gone. Tension at the very beginning and I was wondering if it was going to work out. It was a page turner and the suspense was there. It does have a HEA, but there are also questions left for the next chapter in the series that leave you wanting (or ready to read the next chapter). This was my first time for this author and I will continue to read their stories. Recommend this MC series. Definitely worth the read.
I enjoyed it, but it felt a bit rushed and really, he’s an MC president that’s essentially a snitch to a deputy DA, really, he’s giving out information freely one minute then secretive the next, I enjoyed it but there were parts that were just not believable. There’s no way he would have been handing out information about who killed his girlfriend, that’s ’club business’ and saying anything is snitching, that’s not done and would get you killed, but no, he blabs his heart out to her. I like the gist of the story but there are just some very unbelievable elements to the story

I think that by reading the other mc series this one just fell short. I will try another one to see if it was just the storyline of this one that I didn't particularly care for or what. She is working for the DA to avenge her friend's death that she blames Lane for because she was his girlfriend..... and yet in a very very short span ends up falling for him smh. Could not get into this book and almost didn't finish it but others recommended it so we will give the series another go and see if it gets better.
So this is my first novel from the author. I have to agree with other readers.. doesn't feel too much like an MC book. Their language and character doesn't add up to a biker per se.
Then there's Angela and Lane. Their story was literally an insta love...which isn't my thing. How you go from not liking eachother to immediately sleeping together then next day in love.
Not sure if it was done purposely because it's a series but we never found out who's the rat.
Lane (Black Reapers MC Book 1) by Trent Jordan . I absolutely enjoyed this book the characters were full of determination to overcome their Fear ...Lane and Angela what a combination and yet they were explosive as One .. This series is incredibly great in my opinion. I can’t wait to read the next book.
I have read a lot of MC books and this one rates at the top. It has a lot of action and drama. There’s also fighting and shooting. Lane and Angela don’t like each other at first but, after a short time the chemistry between them starts to sizzle. This book is so entertaining that it is hard to put down.
I didn't hate this story but at the same time I did not love it. Lane and Angela are grief ridden they can't see anything other than their grief. Angela comes in wanting justice for her best friend. They do not like each other and boom, they fall for one another. I didn't feel the connection at all. Other than all that, it was an interesting story.
I have to admit when it comes to biker books I get pretty nit picky...lol All I can say is WOW!!! LANE blew me out of the water! From the first page it captured my attention and I could not stop reading it! This for sure will go in for keeps to read and read again!
Oh my!! This is the first MC book I've read and I am in love! It grabbed my attention from the first page all the way to the end, I couldn't put it down. Lane and Angela's connection is electric and so hot! I can't wait to read Patriot's story!
This was a good read. It was better than what I thought it would be. It had the excitement and the suspense. It even had shooting and fighting. I am looking forward to reading more in this series and from this author
Interesting spin on enemies to lovers... I liked how the characters' feelings of confusion through the process of falling for each other came in to play and how they both came out the other side stringer together.
I’ve seen more chemistry between a loofah and soap. Idk why they even got together. Supposedly her being his exs dead bed bothered both of them then a few paragraphs later they decide to like each other no nothing built lmao
Wow! I have never read an mc book before . Trent had me captivated from the first sentence. Great book , fabulous scenes . I love when I feel the book come to life and Trent did just that !
I pushed myself but couldn't get past 20%. I have to have something that hooks me fairly early on. Perhaps I should have given it more time, but alas, I was board.
