Rate this book
It’s Summertime at The Cornish Confetti Agency!

When Lexie Harrington is asked to co-ordinate Kat and Dylan’s ‘English village fête’ wedding, she’s determined that this time everything will go according to her carefully laid plans; no ice bucket challenges, no whoopee cushions, and absolutely no googly eyes attached to everything in sight!

With gorgeous journalist-cum-wedding columnist Theo Barker to offer a helping hand, Lexie is optimistic that she can deliver the fairy tale wedding her clients have always dreamed of…. until the best man Noah is targeted by a loose hosepipe, the wedding rings go walk-about, and his beloved scarlet Porsche takes on a distinctly unpleasant aroma.

Can Lexie and Theo uncover what’s behind the mysterious goings on, or will the Cornish Confetti Agency be forced to close its doors to the future brides and grooms of glorious Cornwall?

An uplifting, feel-good story perfect for the summer holidays, and the second book in The Cornish Confetti Agency series.

Daisy James loves writing stories with strong heroines and swift-flowing plot-lines. She especially likes to create sunshine-filled settings in exotic locations - the Caribbean, Tuscany, Cornwall, Provence - so she can spend her time envisioning her characters enjoying the fabulous scenery and sampling the local food and drink.

When not scribbling away in her peppermint-and-green summerhouse (garden shed), she spends her time sifting flour and sprinkling sugar and edible glitter. She loves gossiping with friends over a glass of something fizzy or indulging in a spot of afternoon tea - china plates and teacups are a must.

What a fun book! A little romance, a little mystery, and a lot of fun! Lexie is back planning another wedding and hoping things go more smoothly this time. Unfortunately it looks as though somebody is out to get her. Between the crazy practical jokes being played on the obnoxious best man and a rival wedding agency starting rumors, Lexie is determined to keep the agencies reputation intact. Once again Theo is there along with Jasper and Freya to offer support and puzzle out what is going on. Lexie is such a wonderful character and I just loved this wedding that she planned. It was just so sweet and perfect and topped off with a fete for all the people of the village. Rides and games and yummy treats. There were a lot of humorous moments especially some of the practical jokes played on Noah The Best man. The romance was very subtle and sweet between Theo and Lexie, I am excited to see what the future holds for these two.

Cornwall... confetti...chaos...chuckles, yup all the c's are present in this incredibly entertaining new book in the Cornish Confetti Agency series.

It is great to see the chaotic Lexie attempt to have another wedding go smoothly, all she has to do is follow the pre-supplied check lists and do everything on them, what on on could go wrong.

Well when you have an incredibly obnoxious best man in the wedding party who becomes the target of some funny practical jokes, and a rival wedding agency who seem like they may be out to get the Cornish Confetti Agency... then nothing is as simple as it sounds.

Add in a romantic interest Theo who is her fellow sleuth when it comes to odd wedding related mishaps, but he does keep disappearing leading Lexie no idea what to think about him, and you have all the makings of a great few hours in the sun as you read on.

Oh did I mention the wedding feast, my mouth was watering as it often does when reading a book by Daisy James, so many delicious sounding treats, that I started craving a pain au chocolat and wondering whether to add some to my next online delivery!

Oh and the descriptions of the summer fete themed wedding were so vivid, I could really picture the scene perfectly and wished I was there too, and so inspired!

This may be the second book in the series but I do feel it can be read as a standalone, although anyone who has read the first story, will be delighted with all the regulars returning including Jasper's waistcoats!

A really quick to read, piece of summer escapism perfect for a world where creative Cornish weddings for a whole village to enjoy, may not be occurring anytime soon in real life.

Thank you to the author for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Romcom set near fictional Pengarth, CORNWALL

I was delighted to read this book on a Summer’s day when it is pouring with rain and I have the heating on – yes, it’s June in England! The novel is also set in June but it is full of summer sunshine, warm days, open top cars and pretty scenery. Further, I got to name the snow-white labradoodle in the book and I called her Dilly! I was on tenterhooks to see when she would appear and indeed she did materialise in the company of Theo, more of whom shortly.

Lexie is down from London, standing in for Marley who owns the wedding planning company, The Cornish Confetti Agency of the title. It is just a few days until Kat and Dylan tie the knot and she has her hands full. The family and the wedding guests are a delightful bunch of people but there is one young man with an arrogant streak (who also drives a red Porsche, you know the type), who also happens to be the best man and who seems to have an enemy in the ranks. Accidents befall him and enrage him. Lexie has to play detective and try and settle ruffled feathers.

The stress of keeping all the balls in the air take their toll but in the background is grounded Theo, who is maybe catching her eye, just a little. Could he be part of her future? Could she actually stay in Cornwall and build a business and leave behind her partner Elliot (who cheated on her) and her life in the city?

Romcoms have a happy ending and you will not be disappointed.

This second book in the Cornish Confetti Agency series has Lexie back planning another wedding, solving another mystery and hoping that things will go smoother than the last wedding. Kat and Dylan’s ‘English village fête’ wedding is taking place at the vicarage and the whole village will be invited. The best man, Noah, is not very well liked by the group, except for the groom, and someone has targeted him as the recipient of a series of practical jokes. As Lexie tries to sort out what is happening and ensure that nothing happens on the wedding day, she finds several people who are keeping secrets and have reason to get back at Noah. Theo is back in this outing, trying to help Lexie out as much as he can, but he also has a secret that he is keeping from Lexie. Marley, the owner of the Cornish Confetti Agency is also going to be home at the end of the month so Lexie has to decide what she will do at that time.

I love the relationships in these books. Freya and Jasper are back planning and working the weddings as well as adding a bit of humour. I love the closeness between them and Lexie as well as others in the village. The practical jokes played are hilarious and had me laughing out loud with the characters. I love reading about the chaos that seems to surround Lexie wherever she goes and how she is going to solve it. The romance between Lexie and Theo is so sweet. It is not in your face, but sweet and romantic. I love how it is developing and I am so looking forward to seeing what is next for them. The story is well developed and plotted. All the characters are well developed and I would love to meet each and every one of them, even Noah. I love how this story ended and set up a wonderful story for the next book in this series. Each wedding is so well planned and has such great themed activities, as well as delicious sounding food and beautiful flowers and decorations. If I ever get remarried, I would love to get married in Cornwall with my wedding planned by the Cornish Confetti Agency. I received a copy of this book upon request from Rachel's Random Resources. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own.

I loved returning to Cornwall for the second book in the Cornish Confetti Agency series. This could be read as a standalone, but it was lovely to see the return of Lexie, her friends, and the sexy Theo. In this, Lexie is still standing in at the agency, and has another wedding to oversee, complete with daily checklists to keep everything running smoothly. I loved that the wedding this time was a village fete, complete with bunting and entertainment.

When Noah, the obnoxious best man, appears to be being targeted by someone who clearly does not like him, Lexie and Theo join together to find out who is doing everything. It was impossible to avoid having a little giggle when the accidents happened because Noah really does seem to be an unpleasant and manipulative person, but all is not quite as it seems.

As well as some of the returning characters, I loved the wedding party, from the chilled vicar (and father of the bride), to the mother of the bride who was an absolute dynamo of a vicar’s wife, with a very hidden side to her that honestly made me giggle. The wedding theme was so perfect for both the families, as well as the location, and I couldn’t help but picture myself in the middle of everything. I love Cornwall, and the location was simply idyllic.

The burgeoning romance between Lexie and Theo was wonderful, in spite of a few crossed wires. The new addition to the group of Lexie, Theo, Freya and Jasper is adorable and perfect in every way! I look forward to seeing how things go between them all in the next book in the series.

Seriously, if you would like an idyllic summer read, complete with a wedding, and a mystery, this book is perfect for you!

I have been a fan of Daisy's work for a while now. I haven't quite caught up with all of her work yet but I am getting there. I try to read one of her older books whilst at the same time keeping pace with her new releases. Daisy's most recent book is called 'Summertime At The Cornish Confetti Agency' and it was released on 11th June 2020. It is actually the second book in a series- the first book is called 'The Cornish Confetti Agency'. 'Summertime At The Cornish Confetti Agency' is another amazing read from Daisy and I thoroughly enjoyed every single second of it but more about that in a bit.
I warmed to Lexie from the start and it didn't take me long until I began to feel as though she had become a friend of mine. I ended up feeling quite protective of her and I kept wanting to leap inside the pages of the book to sort out whoever it was that was upsetting her at that moment in time. Lexie is running her friend's wedding planning business, whilst her friend is away. Lexie is a lovely young woman, who works really hard and she wants to make a good impression on her clients. However, things don't exactly go to plan and there are a couple of mishaps during a couple of the weddings that she has helped to arrange. The latest mishap involves the best man, who is a pain in the bottom, and a series of practical jokes. I won't go into any further details as that would spoil the story. Lexie teams up with the adorable sounding Theo, who is a journalist as well as being a potential love interest for Lexie, to solve the mystery of who is sabotaging or trying to sabotage the wedding. Will they solve the mystery? Will Lexie get the happy ever after ending that she so deserves? Well you are just going to have to read the book for yourselves to find out as I am not going to tell you.
I was drawn into the story by the interesting synopsis. I loved the way in which Daisy combines the romance, the drama with a large dose of humour and the feel good element. 'Summertime At The Cornish Confetti Agency' even has a mystery element to it. This book came along at the perfect time for me. I was feeling a bit low, the whole COVID19 issue was getting to me and I needed a pick me up. Well this book was certainly the tonic I so badly needed. I started to read and I didn't move from my seat from the moment I first picked up the book until the moment when I read the last word on the last page. The story isn't particularly a long one so it was didn't take me that long to charge through the book. I was so deeply immersed in the story that I managed to lose track of time and lose track of just how quickly the pages were turning. All too soon, I had to bid a temporary farewell to Lexie and her friends.
'Summertime At The Cornish Confetti Agency' is superbly written but then I think that to be true of all of Daisy's books to date. In fact, 'Summertime At The Cornish Confetti Agency' has to be my favourite of Daisy's books that I have read so far. Reading 'Summertime At The Cornish Confetti Agency' felt more like a chat between friends rather than reading an actual book. I hope that makes sense. I found that I became a bit too involved with the characters to the extent that I began to argue with the book as if the characters could hear me. In particular, the obnoxious Noah. If I could have jumped inside the pages of the book to given him a good slap with a wet flip flop then I would have done. Before anybody says anything, yes I know that this is a work of fiction but I find that if I enjoy reading a story to the extent that I enjoyed this one then I tend to 'live' the story as if it were real. I have an imagination that is far too vivid for my own good at times. I felt as though I was part of the story myself and that's all thanks to Daisy's superb storytelling.
In short, I loved, no make that ADORED, reading 'Summertime At The Cornish Confetti Agency' and I would definitely recommend it to other readers. I will be reading much more of Daisy's work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.

I seem to make a habit of reading Daisy James books mid-series, but they're so easy to read that you can always catch up with the characters' histories and fully enjoy the fabulous story. Summertime at the Cornish Confetti Agency is the second book in the Cornish Confetti Agency series and it can definitely be read as a standalone. I haven't read the first book in the series but Daisy James paints a multi-coloured picture of events in the first book to ensure that readers picking up a book mid-series are not disadvantaged.

After losing her job, Lexie is looking after the Cornish Confetti Agency while its owner is away. The first wedding didn't quite go to plan so Lexie is hoping to redeem herself by making sure that the village fete wedding she's planning for the vicar's daughter goes without a hitch. Of course, some things are out of Lexie's control and when someone starts playing pranks on the best man, Lexie needs to identify the culprit before the wedding is ruined.

I think I put on a few pounds when reading this as Daisy James describes all of the mouthwatering cakes and pastries made by Scarlet, the local baker. Daisy James has a real talent for describing sweet treats in the most delicious way; I was almost drooling at the thought of biting into a freshly baked croissant and experiencing the scrumptious flaky buttery pastry. Daisy's delectable words describe the sights, sounds and smells so vividly that they leave little to the imagination and if you're really lucky you'll experience the most amazing smell hallucinations, like I did.

I also have to mention the magical sleep fairies that Daisy James introduced me to in this book; the thought of chasing the sleep fairies when you're unable to sleep or being captured by them as you drift off is perfectly delightful. I love this idea; saying that you've been chasing the sleep fairies is much better than simply saying you couldn't sleep - what beautiful unforgettable words from Daisy.

With a sprinkling of mystery and a dollop of romance, Summertime at the Cornish Confetti Agency is a fabulously entertaining book. Daisy James writes with such exuberance and charm that you feel enveloped in the book as if it's a huge hug. Summertime at the Cornish Confetti Agency is my favourite Daisy James book so far and I plan to read the first book in the series while I wait for the next fabulously festive instalment.

I chose to read an ARC and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Summertime at the Cornish Confetti Agency is the second book in the Cornish Confetti Agency series. Having already read The Cornish Confetti Agency I was very excited to get my hands on a copy of this latest instalment!

Lexie Harrington is covering the Cornish Confetti Agency whilst its owner Marley is dealing with a family emergency abroad. Her personal life is more than a little messy, and The Cornish Confetti Agency has provided Lexi with the escape that she so desperately needed. Her first wedding was a success despite the drama and mystery, leaving Lexi hopeful that this second wedding will run more smoothly. Instead, Lexi is left feeling like trouble follows her wherever she goes, and she fears her involvement will ultimately destroy Marleys business!

Whilst dealing with all the drama that goes alongside wedding planning, Lexi also struggles with her feelings for Theo as she is often left confused by the signals he is giving her. In addition, she knows she has some major life decisions to make as she realises she can't keep running from her problems. Will she return to London and the job that she loved? Or will she leave her life behind and start afresh in Cornwall?

It was so lovely to return to Cornwall to visit Lexie, Freya, Theo and the gang once again. I loved reading about all the wedding planning (who doesn't love a wedding!) and the drama that went with it. Lexie and Theo have a great will they/won't they vibe (clearly they like each other, but no decent romance runs smoothly!). This is such a lovely, easy to read novel, perfect for these balmy early summer evenings (I appreciate this week has been a bit rainy, but I'm still optimistic that its just a blip in our heatwave!). So grab yourself a chilled glass of pink wine, a blanket and settle yourself in the garden for an evening of relaxation with Summertime at The Cornish Confetti Agency!

Thank you to the publisher for providing me with a copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

4.5 stars

I'm pleased to share my review for this summer time read by Daisy James, a new author to me. Thank you to Rachel's Random Resources for a digital proof copy so that I can read and review for the upcoming blog tour. My thoughts are my own.

I hadn't realised that this was the second book in a new series, the first was published in March 2020. However I quickly picked up on the events from The Cornish Confetti Agency and the blossoming friendship for Lexie and Theo.

I've still not visited Cornwall in person, but Daisy James brought the area to life for me. The book is set during the week of the wedding of Kat and Dylan, a very busy week for temporary wedding planner Lexie.

I loved the continuation in this story and the expansion on the main characters within. Although I gave it five stars there were elements in this book that made me cringe and makes you think about the outcome of the human nature and a person's jealousy and all it can to do ruin other people's lives.

As a whole it was funny, made me sigh with relief in parts and made me think of the days I was a wedding planner and the types of hazards we come across.

Well worth a read and quite relaxing if you are looking to sunbathe on holiday or Costa Del Your Garden.

This is a refreshing summer read set in Cornwall full of wedding fun and romance with a little bit of mystery.

"Agatha Christie eat your heart out!" Lexie doesn't want to repeat the past and just wants to plan a wedding with no problems, but someone is playing havoc with her friends' big day and she's putting her detective hat on.  As for the wild and adventurous Theo, Lexie's love interest...what's with the disappearing act, and what is extreme ironing?

The characters in this sweet romance are fun and entertaining. From the arrogant best man, Noah, to the wonderful vicar's wife, Judy who has some racy news to share.  I guarantee you will find a favorite character or two of your own.

A wedding to remember with a beautiful setting, great friends, and his and her sack races.

Thank you to Ms. James for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

This was such a fun little book with all the ingredients for a good romance, and a little bit of mystery. Lexie is such an enjoyable protagonist to follow and the storyline, similar to book one, is cute and fun, though a little predictable. This is a perfect summery read and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.

Another wedding with a mystery for Lexie and Theo!

Lexie is organizing Kat and Dylan’s ‘English Village fête’ wedding.  But a wedding for the Cornish Confetti Agency wouldn’t be the right wedding if there weren’t any mysteries…

The planning is going smoothly until the best man Noah seems to be targeted. Who is behind all the misfortunes?
And why is Theo behaving oddly?

Again a real pleasure reading about Lexie and her adventures, no matter how much chaos they cause her!
Lexie is enjoying her life and her temporarily job as a planner. But she has to decide how her future will look like.
She likes planning weddings, but what when the owner of the agency returns? Will there still be a spot her for?
And what about her feeling for Theo? She knows how she feels, but haven’t said the actual words yet…
So many things to think about and then the upcoming wedding seems to go wrong…
Noah is the targeted man, and yes, he seems like a prick, but when I got to know the reason for his ‘assholeness’, I couldn’t feel but sorry for him.

I enjoyed reading how Lexie and Theo are teaming up again for finding the culprit. The way they are trying to unfold the truth together, was making me be a detective myself. But the moments that they spent together, not being detectives, were real sweet. The way they just seem to be perfect for each other, ugh, just wonderful to read.

What I didn’t like although, was the way Theo sometimes behaved. Even if I knew that Theo was one of the good guys, the way he acted was off…
I honestly did not want to doubt him, but he just gave me no choice. Poor Lexie, going through the same distress as me!

Without giving away anything, the end will make you swoon!

A beautiful story again, with a dream wedding, a Lexie finally figuring out where her future lays and an ending making me all happy!

Can’t wait for more!!!!

What could be more enticing on a beautiful June day than a return to Daisy James' Cornish Confetti Agency? You can read the story as a standalone but you get most out of the story if you have read how Lexie has come to end up as a wedding coordinator back in Cornwall. All the characters who were introduced are back again and there are some lively moments as Lexie's arrangements begin to unwind. You can absolutely visualise the beautiful settings and feel like a silent guest at the wedding.

There is a mystery to uncover as before, and some new people to get to know. It feels like a romcom meets a cosy mystery which is a great combination for a light, summer's read. It is always a good sign when you get to the end of a book and want to know what happens next and how the next wedding fares. This is a series with the potential to run and run.

Thanks to the author for a copy of the book.

I do love a book by Daisy James and this book combines a brilliant author, in a beautiful location and with the ultimate role of making sure a wedding goes off without a hitch.

Lexie had the odds stacked against her as random pranks are played against the obnoxious best man who appears to have no sense of humour and is intent on rubbing everyone up the wrong way.

So amongst planning the wedding she is trying to ensure that nothing else happens that could pose a problem to Dylan & Kay's dream wedding.

A wonderful read that I really enjoyed, this book had great characters and I loved the descriptions and theme behind the dream wedding. A totally inspired idea that was easy to visualise as it all came together.

A book that grabs your attention so you just want to hide away and read uninterrupted for a few hours.
