It was only supposed to be a little ink. A parting gift to myself from myself. Because when your girlfriend dumps you for a famous rockstar, you leave. You move on. You get the hell out of town and forget all about her. But I never counted on Amanda. Or the night we shared. Or the mark she left when she put her ink on my skin.
I have to go back. For her.
AMANDA
There are three things I know about Nick: he’s cocky, he’s amazing in bed, and he’s the father of my unborn baby. When he walked into the shop, smelling like heaven, wanting his first tattoo, I should have refused his business. Because I knew the moment I set eyes on him, I didn’t stand a chance. Still, I fell down the rabbit-hole with him.
Now he’s back in town. With no clue I’m pregnant. When I’m forced to tell him, I tell him it isn’t his. Because he left once, he could easily leave again. And guys like Nick, they don’t stick around for girls like me.
Hi! I'm Sarah Darlington. I write contemporary romance books that are steamy, sexy, and sweet. I love creating book boyfriends you won’t soon forget, and the heroines who give them hell.
Marine biologist Nick Jasmine, 23, is still reeling after his girlfriend left him for a rockstar (see Never Trust a Rockstar). Amanda, 25, is the tattoo artist who leaves a reminder of Kill Devil Hills on his skin before he kisses the beach town good-bye. Except he inadvertently leaves Amanda with a little memento as well.
I liked both Nick and Amanda in the opening chapters. The turtle thing was cute. It was off to a good start. But when Nick returns from Maine, both characters went downhill.
For Amanda, it was her lie about him not being the father. I don’t really get why she did that. I’m not sure Amanda even got why she did that.
“I knew that I should have been honest with him from the start. I should have told him the baby was his.”
It not only was a lousy and immature thing to do, but it was just the beginning of crappy communication and wishy-washy behavior on both of their parts.
Then there’s Nick. His character, like often times their romantic connection, seemed to suffer from tell vs. show. Amanda describes him as cool, confident, and gorgeous, which I suppose was how he was supposed to come off to others, but then in his POV the reader gets the real Nick, the insecure one who suffers from a panic disorder. Or was this just another facet of Nick’s personality? It was hard to tell, and I struggled to envision a clear picture of him. It didn’t help that he too flip-flopped so much on what he wanted.
“…I don’t want kids of my own.”
Okay, he might have even had a valid reason, but then why not be super diligent about protection!?
Their lack of safe sex practices and lack of safe sex discussions made them seem immature and irresponsible. So did the fact that he ditched a good job he loved in his career and fled town to avoid his previous girlfriend. His acceptance of raising someone else’s baby with a stranger he barely knew just made him seem desperate. Nick was all over the place. Which brings me to the dinner scene...
The fake “social” story that Nick tells just made him seem….well fake. And the lack of condemnation over it was bothering. That scene didn’t help make Nick more likable, and it was a big miss in terms of interweaving John and Dani (whose voice was noticeably absent) from the previous books/sister series (see Never Kiss a Rockstar).
All in all, the story just fell a little flat (as did their love scenes). It had tons of potential, but the execution left their chemistry hard to feel alongside so many issues that could have been resolved with basic communication and simple conversation. And given that they were going to be parents together, I really needed them to display the foundations of a solid, lasting relationship.
Told via Amanda and Nick’s alternating first person POV, the safety angle is good which I always appreciate, but the characters just left me feeling kinda meh. I didn’t love it; I didn’t hate it. My recommendation—if the items mentioned above don’t bother you, give it a whirl. If communication is key, you might want to sit this one out or check out other titles in the Kill Devil Hills universe.

Inked is the start of a new series in the Kill Devil Hills world by Sarah Darlington. I really love this world Sarah has created and I was happy to see she was continuing to write in it. Although it's part of the KDH universe, Inked can be read as a standalone.
I love a "beta" hero like Nick. He stole my heart right from the beginning, with his insecurities and feelings of inadequacy, stemming from being dumped for a literal rockstar. When he shows up at Kill Devil Ink for one last hurrah, (in the form of a sea turtle tattoo), before moving back to Maine, he actually gets more than he bargained for in the form of Amanda, the pink-haired tattooist.
This was an engaging read. Nick and Amanda are both kind of lost when they first come together. Although there was an instant attraction, Inked is actually a bit of a slow burn, as these two felt their way around each other. There was some back and forth, from each of them at different times. I really felt for Nick, dealing with his panic attacks and feeling like he wasn't worth much. Amanda is independent, but also has her own issues. I admit I was upset with how Amanda first handled the pregnancy, but in a way I can see why she did what she did, considering she knew next to nothing about Nick. I guess you could say these two had a complicated, yet easy, relationship. It was a relationship I was rooting for, because Nick and Amanda deserved love- to love and be loved in turn.
5 TURTLE TATTOO SOULMATE STARS!! This book touched my soul...Nick and Amanda were so much fun to watch all the way through this story. Every emotion button I have was pushed, as I read this book. If you believe in soul mates, you will definitely want to read this book. These two will engrave their names on your heart, so get ready.
Hi everyone!!! This novel will be Nick’s novel. You might remember him from Crazy Sexy Notion (as Mick’s half brother) or from Never Trust a Rockstar as Emma’s bf in the beginning. He’s a complicated character, and I can’t wait for you to really get to know him in this ‘Kill Devil Ink’ standalone.
I’m hoping to release on July 11th, the date of SaSS in Norfolk this summer!
I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.
‘Inked’ is the story of Nick and Amanda. It’s a standalone story but if you have read this writer her rockstar series then you will recognize some familiar faces in this story. But if you are new to this writer, then know that there is no need to read those stories first to read this one.
Nick and Amanda meet each other for the first time, when Nick goes to Amanda’s workplace to get a tattoo. From the beginning there is great attraction between the two of them and they both decide for their own reasons to act on it. So Nick and Amanda have an one nightstand, both knowing that they will not see each other again after that. But to their surprise they can’t stop thinking of each other, especially Amanda when she discovers that she’s pregnant from their one night together. And when Nick decides to move back in town, it will change everything. But like always, life isn’t that simple and both will have to overcome their fears to find a future together.
‘Inked’ is a new adult story, that is light to read but like always with Sarah Darlington’s stories, her main characters are somewhat different/special and that is one of the things that I like about her books. That she writes light but still emotional stories about people that aren’t ‘perfect’ but who then find someone that is perfect for them. Who accepts them just the way that they are.
Just like Amanda, I was immediately intrigued by Nick, because let’s be honest, who wouldn’t be… by a hot guy who wants a turtle on a certain, special part of his body. There is something fascinating with that cute animal and especially that body part, I think. But Nick may look confident, cocky, charming and be self-assured on the outside, that is all just an act. Inside he’s more introvert, insecure and lonely. Because he’s hiding a big secret. From a young age, he has been suffering from panic attacks (he has a panic disorder). He feels ashamed about it and he hides it from everyone, even his parents and his older brother. Only his best friend Lou knows that he suffers of them.
Amanda is a bit of the same, she may have pink hair and have a lot of tattoos on her body but that expressive exterior isn’t like her shy and introvert self. The fact that both of them had two different sides to their personalities was something that intrigued me a lot.
And it was lovely to see how these two lonely people with their gentle heart felt for each other. How they accepted each other just like they were and how they supported each other. That they could be themselves with the other. Of course, their self-doubt made that their journey to love wasn’t that simple, it made them believe that the other could find someone better.
The story is told from both POV’s. I especially liked it that each chapter was told alternately from Nick’s or Amanda’s POV.
This book stole my heart. I loved Nick and his turtle tattoo idea but what I loved the most was he was such a relatable character because he was flawed. Nick had the money, had the gorgeous looks, but he suffered from panic attacks that were debilitating. I could sympathize with him as someone who suffers with anxiety and panic attacks I knew exactly what he was feeling, how it effects everyday life, and how more than anything the need to just feel normal and make them stop. I also loved Amanda she was this gorgeous, amazing tattoo artist who was independent and introverted. These two are almost total opposites but they make it work because Amanda wants nothing more than to help Nick and be someone that helps ease his anxiety, but it takes Nick to realize he is the one controlling them and he has to help himself to an extent. It was such a great storyline and I can’t wait to read about Finn and Lou.
I haven‘t read anything by this author so far and I think I started with the perfect book. This story is emotional, heartwarming and inspiring. The main character Nick is a very complex character and I loved how the author didn‘t sugarcoat any of his panic attacks. Amanda was the calm to his storm and he definitely needed it. He is such a sweet character and just wants to fit in somewhere. He doesn‘t feel like he fits in at home so he creates these multiple persona‘s to someday find someone who love‘s him as he is.
Amanda is in my opinion such a stron character. She‘s not afraid of anything except being alone maybe. She‘s a loner but I think she also seeks to be loved deeply.
Those characters really took over my heart in an instant. The writing and storytelling was great from start to finish.
I hope to read more from Sarah soon.

*Read more of my reviews at Whoo Gives A Hoot* Inked is the first book in Sarah Darlington's newest spin-off series, Kill Devil Ink! When she announced that she was once again bringing us back to Kill Devil Hills, I couldn't have been more excited because I freaking love this world that she has created for her readers, a world that I have been in love with since the very beginning!
Nick and Amanda's journey begins with a sea turtle tattoo on his butt cheek and a one-night-stand that leads to a special little surprise and a deep connection that neither one of them ever expected. Their romance is fast paced and messy at times, but one that I loved every second of. In all honesty my one and ONLY complaint really is that I didn't want their story to end. However, I still found myself devouring the words in one sitting because I couldn't put it down, which ALWAYS happens when it comes to Sarah Darlington's words. Her storylines captivate my attention and her characters my heart. She knows how to get me hook, line and sinker every single time!
Whether this is your first book from Sarah Darlington, or you have read them all (LIKE ME), you won't be able to put it down! I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in the Kill Devil Ink series, especially if the couple is who I think they are! We already get to see a glimpse into their relationship in, Inked, and I am BEYOND excited to experience the journey of the next couple in the series. It should be an interesting pairing and the growth of the characters will be so FUN to see!
As his last night in Kill Devil Hills, Nick decides he needs to get a tattoo. When he is at the tattoo shop, he meets Amanda who sets him on fire. He has an immediate and violent reaction to her. Their connection is so intense that they end up spending the night together at the tattoo studio. The next morning with Amanda’s boss comes in Nick leaves in a hurry to return home to Maine. Two months later he returns at the urging of his best friend, Lou. Their first stop upon moving back is at the tattoo shop so he can get his favorite hat back but it is really just an excuse to see Amanda again. They make arrangements to have dinner where he learns that he may not have left just his hat behind two months ago.
I enjoyed Nick and Amanda’s story and that it was a different take on the accidental/surprise pregnancy trope. I really loved that he was so easy going and accepting of the pregnancy even when he thought it wasn’t his at first. I loved that he wanted to be there and be with Amanda regardless. I respected the mental health aspect of the story. I liked that it wasn’t just a reference that you saw Nick’s breakdowns. It made it real. It also made him slightly awkward in my opinion but again I think that was a product of his mental issues, so it felt right. If that makes sense. My only complaint is that I felt that there wasn’t enough development of either character or deep dive into the issues they both had. His mental health and her with her mom and dad. I felt like that was lacking but I still enjoyed Nick and Amanda a lot.
4.5 Stars for Inked This is the first book I have read by this author and it certainly won’t be the last because truth be told I’m really struggling to understand why I haven’t come across Ms Darlington before now. Inked is a stand-alone romance that starts in a tattoo parlour, Nick walks in to get his first tattoo and it’s Amanda who is the tattoo artist who has the honour of tattooing his virgin skin. An instant attraction turns into a night of passion, they are never meant to meet again but Nick can’t get the stunning tattoo artist out of his mind. Amanda is also struggling to forget the handsome guy who left her with more than just memories and when he arrives back in town she knows he deserves to be told he is going to become a father but will the man who struggles to understand his real worth ever feel worthy enough to be a father she knows he is capable off..... This is an emotional read that at times broke my heart, but it also had me smiling as the characters learnt to love themselves as well as the partners that came into their lives when they least expected it. Inked is beautifully written, it covers mental health issues compassionately and it’s told in both Nick and Amanda’s POV. Love is not always easy, it’s not always simple but it’s always worth it. Looking forward to reading more from the very talented Ms Darlington.
Inked(Kill Devil Ink#1) by Sarah Darlington. Nick is heartbroken and going back home to Maine. Before he goes he decides to go by Kill Devil Ink for a tattoo. You see he is Emma's ex. She left him for Caleb Mills. If you haven't read the Rockstars in Kill Devil Hill series please do. 4 really good stories that I really enjoyed reading. Not a necessary read for this story just really good stories. Amanda is the tattoo artist at Kill Devil Ink. Nick is a tattoo virgin. The attraction between the two is instantaneous however they only have one night together. Back in Maine Nick isn't as happy as he thought he would be. He misses his job in NC regardless to his ex still being there plus he left his favorite hat. All Amanda has to remember that night is Nick's hat he left and a baby growing inside her. She has all intentions of having this baby alone but when he comes through the shop doors for his hat, she has a decision to make. Nick has serious issues of his own. His issues are a very interesting story all by itself. I enjoyed the two of them. Both have issues they need to overcome and then add a baby. Their dilemma had me hooked from page one till the end. A great start to a new series set at Kill Devil Ink. So looking forward to the next book in the series. 4.5 stars for me.
Sarah Darlington is a new author to me and I am surprised that I have not come across her before. Inked is Nick and Amanda’s story and I was invested from the first to the last chapter. This is a well written story that ticked many boxes for me.
When Nick walk in to the tattoo parlour where Amanda weaves her magic, he has no idea that they are about to embark on a journey that will change both their lives forever. Their attraction is instant and what follows is a night of passion which as Nick is leaving town will be all they have.
Fate works in mysterious ways and when Nick returns to town, he is shocked to learn that he is going to be a father. This was an emotional read at times and my heart almost broke for both Nick and Amanda on occasion. I also appreciated that the author tackled the issue of Mental Health with dignity and respect, she didn’t shy away from it and I appreciated that.
Can Nick and Amanda, both with baggage come together and forge a path to love and happiness and above all else become a family? One click and find out.
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**
O.M.G. I can't believe how i fell in love with Nick. A man who you would think from the outsiders it all, a rich family, a good education and charisma, however the poor guy has a secret. He has panic attacks and try so hard to fit in and be the perfect guy for everyone.
Most of the book seemed to be about Nick and his emotions, then the plot line of him and the connection to Amanda and how for the first time he feels more than anything and that she helps to ground him.
We get to see very little of Emma and Caleb Mills and we get to see a little of John who ends up marrying Dani Mills from Sunset Revival, we also get to meet Finn from the tattoo parlour and Nicks friend Lou. Finn and Lou are going to get their book next.
Its certainly a book to read and if you have read one of the authors most recent books you will have met these characters before and therefore got a feel of them previously.
Certainly a book to read and like me this book will be read fast.
In romance books, there is usually a man or woman that did you wrong. The way the author writes about that character makes you detest them, and prepare them to look like the villain. Then Sarah Darlington writes about the "villain," and you fall in love with that character. You find out they aren't as bad as they seemed. They just hadn't found their special someone. You didn't have their whole story. I found this with Nick. His ex-girlfriend dropped him for a rockstar. She found him so dull that she fell asleep at dinner while he was talking! This leaves you to believe that Nick is one big dud. However, digging deeper into Nick's life and learning his quirks, it wasn't because he was annoying, just not made for his ex. Amanda is the critical piece to his puzzle. Amanda is exactly what Nick needs. Someone that finds him irresistible wants to care for him, grown with him, and love him. I love how Nick had a bite of the "love at first sight" bug but didn't pay it any heed. Amanda is a vibrant, easy-going girl that is the calm to Nick's storm. Darlington writes another rockin' book that will leave its imprint on you! I received a free copy in exchange for my honest review.
I loved this book so much! I was so excited to read about Nick and see who his lady was gonna be. Amanda is perfect for him! She is so sweet and so understanding. Nick is also sweet and a bit self critical. I hated that he had to go through all he did. To have to experience panic attacks and never know when they might occur is so scary, but Amanda, even though she had no clue what to do, was so supportive. I love the surprise pregnancy and how Nick reacted! What I love about Sarah Darlington is how she puts real issues, be it physical or mental in every book. There is never a miraculous fix. Her characters have to work for every bit of their HEA and it's still not always smooth. Just like real life. Because of that it is so easy to connect with them and understand their actions. It makes me think "what would I do ? " in the same situation. Great writing, great characters, and a very sweet/steamy read! I was given the opportunity to read a copy of this book.
Inked is book one of the new series Kill Devil Ink by new to me author Sarah Darlington. Boy was this book a roller coaster! It dealt with some mental health issues that may be a trigger for some people, so a trigger warning has been added. Inked follows Nick a marine biologist who suffers with panic attacks and insecurities that run deep and Amanda a tattooist with her own troubles with grief. I found this book particularly hard to connect with. The lies between the two main characters made it hard for me to believe their connection and I struggled with their immaturity at times. Overall, it was a well written book, however, not one of my favourites.
Once upon a time, I read a book called Kill Devil Hills that made a big impression on me. I fell hard for the two main characters and their story has stayed with me over the years. So I was excited to return to North Carolina’s Outer Banks with Sarah Darlington’s latest release, Inked.
Nick and Amanda had an unforgettable encounter when he came to her for a tattoo. When their one night together resulted in a pregnancy, Amanda panicked, certain that Nick was out of her league and would leave her high and dry, and told him the baby wasn’t his. What came next was the story of two people slowly opening up, learning to trust, and figuring out they are better together than apart.
What was endearing to me about Nick and Amanda is that they both felt that the other was out of their league. Amanda viewed Nick as wealthy and privileged and Nick thought Amanda was carefree and creative and wouldn’t be interested in him (especially after his ex told him he was boring). Nick had been diagnosed with Panic Disorder and it was heartbreaking to see the toll the panic attacks took on him. His outward persona was one of charming confidence but in reality he was self-conscious about the panic attacks and very much an introvert.
Nick was very all-in and committed from early on which seemed rather unlikely, but I rolled with it. It was easy to do because he was just such a sweetheart. They both leaned on one another and needed each other for comfort and support even before they could recognize or admit that to each other. Their path wasn’t conventional, but I enjoyed watching them figure out their way together. Inked was a sexy-sweet story of two gentle souls who accepted each just as they were.
Wow! I honestly loved this book! Sarah what are you doing to me? I read all your books (or as many as I can). This one was probably my favorite so far. I romance based on a chance encounter mixed with a baby and I’m hooked....no need to feel me in further. They both have things they deal with on their own, but he issues seem more intense. The whole idea of his soul mate having the same tattoo, in the same place too was wild. Honestly this story touches on things everyone must feel, like they are good enough, pretty or rich and it shows you there is someone out there for you...just be patient. PSA: there is sex, romance, insecurities, a baby, and a HEA!
To be honest, this book really wasn’t for me. There was a lot of promise and I think the plot itself was great, but the execution wasn’t my cup of tea. I liked Amanda for the most part, but couldn’t connect with her. Nick, just didn’t completely make sense in my head and he seemed to skiptrace emotions and actions. Without spoilers, none of this may make sense so I do encourage you to read and make your own opinions about this romance. It was a HEA and quick read for me.
I absolutely loved the hero of this story Nick, everything about him was perfect including his tattoo of choice lol and that’s how he meets Amanda. These two have a instant connection and since Nick is moving they have a one night stand that leaves more then just lingering feelings but when Nicks back Amanda does some things I don’t personally like in books but overall I still really enjoyed the book and how it deals with real life issues.
I fell in love with this book from the very first chapter. The chemistry between Amanda and Nick was off the charts. I would definitely recommend this book to others. I received an ARC of this book from the author and this is my fair and honest review.
Amanda and Nick cut deep enough to leave a mark on your soul. Darlington aims for the heart and claims it as her own personal trophy. Inked is a love ballad that will tie your ever emotion in knots. From tempting to heartbreaking there is no escaping the bruises left behind.
I hate to say this, but I only made it halfway through this book and did not finish it. There was just something about the characters that grated on my nerves. They were so unbelievably immature.
Now I understand the mental health aspect and tried to understand where they were coming from, but honestly they just kept getting worse and worse as the chapters went on.
The story starts off with Nick in the tattoo shop Amanda works at. The first thing out of her mouth is, “are you sure you want this? I hate this tattoo” and blah blah blah. Super unprofessional. Then she starts the tattoo and then says “nevermind, follow me.” And draws up a completely new tattoo for him. AFTER SHE ALREADY STARTED ON THE OTHER ONE.
They spend a night together, in the tattoo shop might I add (classy), Nick leaves, she finds out she’s pregnant, and the rest of the book is a fight or flight for Nick.
Their decision making skills were severely lacking throughout this whole book. I just couldn’t get into it.
I met Nick in Never Trust a Rockstar but didn't really get the chance to know his character, so it was great to meet him again in this new and so enjoyable story from Sarah.
Who knew that Nick was hurting so bad when Emma leaves him for rockstar Caleb? As he is getting ready to leave town he decides to get some ink, meets super sexy tattoo artist Amanda and fireworks explode around them. What starts off as an appointment becomes a one night stand that neither of them will ever forget. When his friend Lou persuades him return to Kill Devil Hills Nick meets Amanda again and starts a passionate romance with her.
What a surprise to find out that Nick is not the shallow entitled rich boy that I thought he might be, but instead he is loving, passionate, easy going but has a big secret. Although he is trying to hide his mental illness from Amanda she witnesses it first hand and rather than run from him she loves him and supports him even more.
This is a beautiful love story about two people who have never really fit in with those around them but fit perfectly together. I was totally engrossed and never wanted it to end. Everyone wishes they could find a love like this though not everyone does.
Although I am a big fan of the Rock Star Books I think that this my favourite of Sarah's so far. Her writing seems to have matured and I think that she has put more feelings and depth into this book as she explores the issues of mental illness and unplanned pregnancy and I was definitely moved by her writing. I was left intrigued by what happened between Lou and Finn so hopefully that will be a future story to enjoy.
before leaving town for good.. nick decides he needs a tattoo... he picks one of a average Sea Turtle.. but when he meets Amanda.. and she talks him into letting her give that average turtle a update.. how can he say no.. the attraction between Nick & Amanda is instant and hot!! With one night left in town.. they spend it together... little did they know that one night will be one they won’t forget..
this is my first book by this author... def not my last... I need FINN & LOU’s Book!!!
Wow oh wow!! I LOVED LOVED this book! I highly recommend this book! Nick and Amandas story is an emotional roller coaster and they both have been through a lot & are going through a lot. The tension between them is crazy intense. I wish there was more to their story. I love how they slowly try and work through whats going on. This story is funny, sweet, loving, sad and just all around a great book. I especially love that it takes place in kill devil hills, NC. It hit home for me. I love how both of them grow as characters in the story seperately and together. I love the different relationships with people they have. Finn and Amanda as well as Nick and Lou have very unique relationships as friends. I can not wait to read the next book! I'm secretly hoping we mite learn a little more about Amanda and Nick. A must read in my book!!
Sarah Darlington gives her readers a nice little read that feels chock full of story when it's all said and done. In Inked, we meet Amanda and Nick. Two people that couldn't be more opposite in life that it isn't funny, however feel an instant attraction to each other when they meet. Amanda is twenty five, living on her own, making a living as a tattoo artist in a small beach town. Nick is on his way out of said beach town with his tail between his legs after being dumped by his girlfriend. Nick wanders into Amanda's tattoo shop and asks for a tattoo that she can't even bring herself to put on him.
Amanda and Nick were very likeable characters from the get go. She was a strong woman, yet underneath that tough exterior was lonely. While Nick looked completely put together and confident, he was far from it. Each of them had some baggage they have been carrying around for years, letting it effect current relationships. Nick is completely down on himself when he meets Amanda and she can't believe somebody like him shows any interest in a "girl like her."
Amanda and Nick get along too well on his last night in town and he leaves her with quite the parting gift. Neither one can forget the other, so as Nick makes his way back to her, all kinds of trouble ensues. First off, Amanda doesn't admit to him that the baby is his, which doesn't last long at all and then Nick has to let Amanda know the real him. All the while, they have family and friends running a constant commentary on thier relationship.
The book is well written and had quite a bit going on other than the pregnancy storyline. At some moments I felt like I was missing out on the whole Nick and his ex's story and I'm not sure if this book is a spin off, but it sure made it seem like it was. While I appreciated these characters, I felt we were a little short changed with thier back stories. They both had pretty interesting ones that we barely scratched the surface of. That said, I liked this little group of friends and definitely want to know more about Lou and Finn next!
INKED is the second instalment in Sarah Darlington’s contemporary, adult KILL DEVIL INK erotic, romance series-a spin off from the author’s Rock Stars in Kill Devil Hills. This is twenty-three year old, marine biologist Nick Jasmine, and twenty-five year old, tattoo artist Amanda’s story line. INKED can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line/series is revealed where necessary. Nick was first introduced in Never Trust a Rockstar (Rockstars in Kill Devil Hills #1) and is Mick’s brother (Crazy .5).
Told from dual first person perspectives (Nick and Amanda) INKED follows the building relationship between twenty-three year old, marine biologist Nick Jasmine, and twenty-five year old, tattoo artist Amanda. Nick had been dumped by Emma, his girlfriend of six months, dumped for a rockstar, and to commemorate his time in North Carolina, Nick decided a tattoo would be his parting gift but Nick never expected to meet the woman that would call to his heart, tattoo artist Amanda. A one-night stand would result in an unexpected pregnancy but Nick had left without looking back. Two months would pass before Nick returned to Kill Devil Hills, and with it, the knowledge that not all was right in our hero’s world. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship between Nick and Amanda, and the potential fall-out as Nick’s struggles with issues of mental health, issues that could easily affect his relationship with the woman he loves.
INKED is a story of fate and love. On his last night in town, Nick walked into Kill Devil Ink, never knowing he would leave behind a piece of himself. With his best friend Lou in tow, Nick would return Two months later to discover that life as he knew it was about to change.
We are introduced to Amanda’s fellow tattoo artists Patrick and Finn, and Nick’s friend Lou; and the cameo appearance of Emma Winchester and Caleb Mills (Never Trust a Rockstar #1)
The premise is emotional and sometimes heart breaking; the characters are colorful , charismatic and flawed; the romance is tender, seductive and steamy.
