Meredith McKenna is neither graceful nor a beauty, but that’s never stood in her way. She knows who she is and, more importantly, what she deserves. Not one to wish on a star or hang her hopes on a fairy tale like true love, her practical nature won her the hand of a prince. But before the royal marriage can be consummated, she must complete a traditional indoctrination—one that requires a trip to exotic Trésor du Coeur to be trained in the royal bedroom arts.
Tasked with selecting one of the island’s professionals as her tutor, Meredith chooses Anders Collier—the most insubordinate and infuriating of the lot. But behind those steel-grey eyes lurks a white-hot secret, and behind closed doors lies everything their hearts and bodies have yet to learn.
Trésor du Coeur ~ An island once cursed is now a tropical sanctuary for lovers. Presided over by the beautiful, mysterious Madame Athena Duval, Trésor du Coeur has secrets to reveal but only to those willing to believe.
Fans of over the top, insta-love, escape reads, and the secret idenity trope will love this sexy sassy contemporary romance.
This book is not good. The female main character as so much internalized misogyny. She hated women. There isn’t a single other female character in this book who she doesn’t absolutely mentally trash. The male main character isn’t much better.
For a book that takes place at essentially a high class brothel, there’s a significant amount of sex work shaming, sex and kink shaming, and also no on page sex.
There’s also this excellent scene where the madam of the island is explaining to the girls that marriage only works between a man and a woman because they are complementary but different, like a key and a lock. It just wouldn’t work with two keys or two locks.
The plot and chemistry were both terrible. I can recommend absolutely nothing about this book.
Ok. First off I am thankful I got this book for free because if I paid for it, I would have been mad.
This book from the synopsis sounded great. But then as I was reading it didn’t really seem like how it was described. First off: there was no smut. How can you have a book set on a brothel island and have no smut?
Secondly, and this is why my review is so low, this book was PROBLEMATIC. There was a scene where the madam literally says that marriages between the same sex don’t work because “men and women bring different things to a marriage”. Like what in the homophobia is that?? Also there were other small things that some of the characters said that really made my red flags wave.
This is the story of Meredith and Anders. She is about to marry a prince but must attend a training for bedroom arts on the island of Tresor du Coeur. She has chosen Anders to be her trainer. What happens when the training begins and their attraction for each other is hard to resist? I enjoyed the twists and turns in the romance. I look forward to the next one. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Somehow when reading the blurb I missed the fact that this was a school for seduction, not etiquette at being a princess. However, this book was better than I expected. There were only a couple steamy scenes and there was a very intriguing and exciting side storyline.
I was gifted a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
The book is a good romantic suspense read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story is an enjoyable and entertaining read

These characters are engaging and well developed and the chemistry is undeniable making this a worthwhile book to read. The flow of the storyline moved smoothly throughout the pages.

Can’t believe I thought this would be better. This is not the way to start the year. Maybe trying out new authors isn’t such a good idea….this was a bust.
Loved it, great characters and story line and EmKay Connor has a flair for drawing you in to her book and keeping you there.
This story is about Meredith who is betrothed to a Prince - where her Prince is from they have a tradition that the fiancee has to go and be instructed on how to make love in order to keep him satisfied so Meredith finds herself on Tresorier Du Coeur - an island paradise.
Anders Collier is there undercover and hates impersonating a gigolo so he is insubordinate and infuriating and tries not to get picked, however Meredith has plans of her own and chooses him.
Madame Duval is the owner of the seduction retreat and knows when people are meant to be together as she has visions but things are happening that she can not figure out and keeps disappearing so this leads her to be is under suspicion by Anders.
The story progresses with the lead characters getting to know each other and both of them fighting their feelings for one another. This story is full of intrigue, kidnappings, friendship, and of course love. I really enjoyed this book and can not wait for the next installment in the Tresorier du Coeur books as I want to learn more about Madame Duval too. Congrats Ms Connor for keeping me entertained and I look forward to reading more from you.
