The Dockside Cooking School classroom was the set for The Chocolate Easter Baking Challenge. Everybody hoped it would go smoothly, more smoothly than the Christmas Cookie Challenge. It should, since the guy who'd caused most of their problems was the other side of the Atlantic Ocean now, but it seemed his antics had given somebody else ideas. The question in Seascape Cove Police Chief Trent Marlow’s mind was if only one person had those ideas? Was he dealing with one culprit, or two? "The Chocolate Easter Baking Challenge (The Seascape Cove Cozy Mysteries #7)" by M'Lissa Moorecroft is more chocolate themed than Easter themed but there are at least a few mentions of Easter. The mystery was about the theft and vandalism towards a chocolate baking contest and its contestants. It was a multi culprit situation that made it a little more difficult to pin down a for sure suspect.
Really the only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 is because it could have used one more edit. Some spelling and grammar things that could have been caught letting a speech to text read it aloud. For instance, at several points the word "panty" is used instead of "pantry."
An excellent addition to the series and includes recipes
Cressi is presented with the opportunity to run a six episode chocolate Easter baking contest. She agrees as long as she can be the executive producer and that the Sonoma fire crew be the charity that gets money donated. From there the story takes off with lots of twists and turns and a surprise ending.
Love the changing locations & shared characters of this series. I appreciated the lack of a murder in this one but still having the necessary investigation to find the culprit. Always a Good Read.
Who stole the chocolate, wrote those letters and slashed her tires??? Other than that, it was a peaceful Easter season, wasn't it??? I enjoyed this story and recommended the book.
