She’s spent months training hard, taking names, making friends, and Purging beasts with a newfound confidence. Everything, she thinks, is going swimmingly.
But secrets are brewing in and around the Institute, ushered in by the arrival of a mysterious stranger who is fundamentally opposed to everything Persie stands for. But he’s fascinated by her.
And he needs her help.
While Persie is forced to confront her entire belief system, Nathan struggles to hide dangerous secrets of his own. The awkward, bookish, monster-loving scholar’s aide is much more than he seems—but if the truth were known, he would lose everything…

Fantastic book. Really loving getting to know Persie and her creations. Falling in love with the beasties. Love the shocking news from Nathan had a feeling he was going to say that once he did what he did. So glad for him and Genie. She is an amazing character can't wait to see what more she can do. Can't wait to see more of the witch hunters have some theories with these lot aswell. Can't wait for the next book. Bring it on.
There were a lot of things I loved about this book and a lot of things I didn’t. What I loved about it was Persie (though the poor girl was too nice for her own good in this one), Nathan being such a sweetie pie, leviathan actually caring about Persie and trying to help her, all the awesome new purge beasts and just how unpredictable and thrilling the whole thing was. Because while I loved the Harley books, they were pretty predictable when katherine’s rituals started. So this was a welcome change. I couldn’t put it down. On the other hand it was a little slow for a bit and I couldn’t stand Reid. I guess his heart was in the right place but man that guy was annoying. That and Nathan’s secret was pretty obvious. As soon as the book confirmed it I yelled “I KNEW IT”. Though at the same time I didn’t connect the dots about him being a necromancer, and it was a good thing he was because while I didn’t think Genie would actually die. I did get worried for a sec. So while I saw it coming it wasn’t a bad twist either. Just made me love Nathan even more. However the only reason I’m giving it three stars instead of four is because what happened to Gren broke my heart. What the witch c@nters (sorry had to do that) did to him made me hate them more than Katherine and Davin combined. More than any fictional villain I know of so far in fact. Because I love animals with all my heart and think anybody hurting them is a special kind of evil. That said this was still a great book and I hope this series never ends.
I wish the next book was out too but with everything going on in the world, delays are to be expected. I sure pray nothing has happened to her or her family during this precarious time in our history. I know the next book will be released when it's released so patience is what I will employ at this time. I can't wait to see what happens next and I do hate cliffhanger as much as the next reader but I also know that is the nature of Bella's writing. If you've read this far in her series, that's something ALL READERS are aware of at this point. Instead of being ugly in comments, maybe instead show some care for your words, they have power and consider what's going on before making assumptions and negative remarks. Bella is an amazing author and life happens to all of us. Let's not throw stones but show some gratitude for that which she has blessed us with and show some empathy and patience for the next installment. Too many are used to getting their way (participation ribbons 4 everyone kinda people) and need to learn self-control, patience, gratitude, and that the world doesn't revolve around them and their demands. Be ready to read the next book when it's released and be thankful that the story continues. Thank you Bella and God Bless
I found this book a little darker than I expected. Once again, the 2 friends get tangled in problems they are not supposed to know about. As they become more certain that the 'monsters' have feelings and personalities and should not automatically be locked in glass boxes to provide energy to power the magical's world, they struggle with breaking the rules. By now they are recognized as productive members of the institute's student population. Whenever they hear of problems in the outside world, like their parents before them, they feel a responsibility to help. I frequently found myself laughing at the antics of Persie's purged 'children'.
A fun read that follows in the tradition of the earlier books of the series.
Bella Forrest is amazing. This book was a emotional roller coaster. I laughed, I cried, i yelled and then laughed some more. Persie is a firecracker. She is honning her ability and getting so much better at it. She saved the day twice in this book and even got herself out of trouble. Genie and Nathan are so cute together. I gasped when I found out who his dad is. I mean I kinda seen it coming but was still shocked. He is so sweet and the total opposite of his dad thank chaos for that. Can't wait to see where the next book takes them. I am kind of getting bad vibes about Victoria.
Persie is off by herself with her bff, Genie, in Ireland at the Basani Institute, learning to be a monster hunter. The adventures she's had thus far have taught her that she is indeed worthy of her Merlin heritage. She is learning that she too can be a force to be reckoned with just like her mother and uncle.
This is book 20 in this series. I can hardly wait for book 21. This is a totally captivating story!
I have read the entire series from harley, finch, and now persie!!! LOVED LOVED LOVED this new book! Love seeing persie evolve into a bad ass mother of monsters!! And really love the interesting relationship dynamic between persie and levithan ! More of that in the next book please!! Great series! ♥️♥️♥️
I love getting to know Persie and Genie with each book. As Persie learns more about her power of purging monsters, things seem to go a bit crazy. This was a great story about magicals and non-magicals alike. Can’t wait to read the next book. Hope all of the Merlins come together to fight!
That was a huge secret of Nathan his father is davin doncaster. I cried when genie was dead. I'm happy for genie and Nathan they are a couple. I'm happy that persie is starting to control her purge, Wonder what kind secret she has. Can't wait the next journey
I was sort of bored at the beginning of this book. I don't remember where I had read to, I think it was way before the middle. And it got so exciting with so many things happening. Many things bad, many things sad, and so many things that made me happy and glad. So if you are kind of bored at the beginning of book 20, just hang in there. You'll be glad you did.
An amazing read with lots of action and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole book. Love Perdue and her connections with the purged creatures and the way they communicate. Definitely thin anyone that hadn't read this series should read the whole series. Each book is connected and ends in a way that you are looking forward to the next edition.
Trying to figure how a human turns into a demon like fiend along with other strange things going on with the magical world is hugely important for all. How it can affect everyone and also who are involved is making Persie, Nathan and Genna resolved to find out what and who is involved.
I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters. It was sad that Persie lost Gren he was a gentle giant but at least she purged another for him and her emotions Atlas seems to do what she wanted. Can't wait to see what will happen next for them and who put the hex on Reid and the other hunters.
Persie is developing into a unique individual. She at first came off as a little bratty . Now she seems more independent and contributing to her relationship with her friends, parents and even Leviathon. Her character didn't pull me in until almost the end of the book. Nathan's story is coming along quite surprised. Can't wait to read the next book.
Loved reading believe that she, being the child of two gitthis set and getting to know w Persie and her perils. I find it extremely difficult to believe that the child of two such powerful magical families would have no powers of her own. Love the direction the books are going, and can't wait to read the next book! When will it be out?
Good book moved really fast . Percy is up to her old tricks Getting into more mischief . This time she involves her best friend Genie And best friend Nathan. He's in charge of the repository. A good thing as Persie is purging faster. Lots of action Someone dies And then someone doesn't die? You'll have to read it And find out for yourself.
Oh my god what a good book. Just wish I could get book 21 to finish these books off. Was nearly in tears when gren died but managed to pull through an happy that Persie has another purge beast as a friend including genie and nathan. Sorry for people who have yet to read this book but I assure you it is good.

Yet another great story from Bella! I love the character development that continues to happen. The story was suspenseful and kept me reading, I couldn't put it down. It was funny and it was heart breaking. There were laughs and many tears. Definitely a great read!
AMAAAAZiNG!!!!!!!!! There was soooo many plot twists in this book I read it so fast! I don’t want to spoil anything though! but definitely give these series a chance, I recommended them to my best friend she’s just starting but she loves them! Bella is so brilliant
Persie is really coming into her own, I really thought that she would come into her own powers eventually. It is getting really exciting can’t wait to see what Bella brings us next.
Great developing story. Persie learning to control her "gift". The burgeoning relationship between Nathan and Genie. A couple of twists during the story and a heartbreak towards the end. Lively and entertaining. I can't wait to see where the next one goes!
Good to see Persie come into her own in this book. Good to see her gain more control over what she can do. And Nathan and Genie finally!!! Can't wait for the next read....the anticipation and this introduction of Reid Darcy!!! Excited!!!
I am so very happy that this book is not the end of the adventure of Perdue Merlin. I am quite involved with the characters and want to continue with this adventure.
Great book, fantastic storyline where we see Persie and Co. involved albeit unwilling at first with a Witch Hunter. With secrets and lies abound and Persie discovering a new “talent”, who know what lies ahead?
Love Persie and her unique crew, they work so well together...purge beasts included. Can't wait to see how the story unfolds with Reid and the hunters and Victoria. I hope the purge beasts get to live freely with the magicals eventually.
I am very grateful that not only did Bella Forrest create this fantastic series but she made them a long and evolving story arc, can't wait for the next one.
Persie gets kidnapped but escaped them her kidnapped tells her of his curse, and Persie,Genie & Nathan get pulled into her scheme to help the cursed kidnapper. All this intrigue calls into question who the real culprit is. More to come!
Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I love all the new purge beasts that Persie has. I love disPersing is connecting with the beasts. I can not wait for book 21!!!
This book was written very well. So were there first 19, of course! I loved this book for many reasons. There were crazy twists and turns happening, surprises you wouldn’t even have thought of, and mythical beasts. This is a great series and I would 10/10 recommend!
