Stéphane seems really interesting because he loves art, yet he is a small child. Paul is the most relatable person I’ve ever read about. His lack of interest in art and his tendency to discuss ghosts is very strange, but we all have flaws. I think it provides a wonderful commentary on childlike innocence and how far we have strayed from a sense of unity as a society. I also enjoyed the references to the flaws of unchecked capitalism from Stephane’s absent parents. 10/10 Would not recommend.

It is an appropriate book for those who are learning French, especially for a level A2, B1. The focus is really on reading, despite the quality of the plot. If the focus is to read to improve reading skills in French at these levels, okay. But in fact, I consider it not worth the investment, it is possible to find similar materials on the internet for free.

I wanted to give this book 5 stars, but I realized that was mostly because I’m proud that I understood every bit of it! Any words I didn’t understand, I was able to figure out through context. The story was fun. Just the type of thing a 1-3rd grader might like to read.

It was a very predictable story. It was very informative though and it was nice to read a story in French for a change.
