Great down to earth stories well worth a read if you enjoy a good thriller I highly recommend these books
Jane Adams writes about Mike Croft over a period covering more than ten years of his career. There are a handful of recurring characters who evolve throughout the books. At times there are almost supernatural events. Well worth taking on holiday and rereading when you're home.
Quite a good set of detective novels. I felt the first book, The Greenway was the best, and that the last book seemed to have so many different story-lines going on at the same time that it was a little hard to follow. Thankfully they all more or less came together at the end, with a final twist you won't see coming.
Quite drawn out snd intriguing collection of stories,
All with fascinating twists. A little slow for my taste but well written and with no obvious errors. My first read ofthis author and Iwas not disappointed.
These books kept me reading instead of doing chores. I recommend these books to anyone who enjoys British crime novels. Just the right amount of really strange components.
Not a close knit family. Sad in the sense that his grandfather could do such a despicable thing an not care. An me having to know who was responsible for the deaths,an here I was thinking of werewolves or at least one werewolf.😅
I liked the characters, I liked the setting. The stories felt familiar but not overly predictable. I felt the books got progressively better- my favorite was the last one.
Thoroughly enjoyed this set, will be reading more soon. The detective has you believing in his methods from the start, getting the reader totally immersed.
The Liar , book4 in the series.Mike Croft investigates the death of a seemingly innocent woman. All is not as it seems and Croft is drawn to a messy ,complicated affair where characters are not what they portray .As friends are drawn in the layers of subterfuge are peeled away . A very good read .
