From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes BRUTUS, a Paranormal Romantic Comedy that will surely cause evil vampires to kidnap the author.

CAN THE WORLD’S TOUGHEST IMMORTAL WARRIOR WIN THE HEART OF THE WORLD’S TOUGHEST IMMORTAL WOMAN?

Brutus is not your average immortal warrior. He leads the gods’ army, he’s tough as nails, and his mind is so powerful, he no longer speaks to communicate with his men. Some call him telepathic; he just calls it being a badass.

But despite the many bloody battles and hard-won victories, this is one mission he’s not so sure about. There is a plague sweeping the immortal world. Gods, vampires, incubi—no one is safe, except for those with mates, and sadly, there just aren’t enough women to go around.

To keep the gods’ army intact, ready to protect the human world, Brutus must convince a group of ancient female warriors, located deep in the Amazon jungle, to return home with him, and…well…go on dates with his men.

But when the toughest, meanest, man-hating, sexiest woman of the group catches his eye, all he can think about is conquering her heart.

WARNING: This book contains a smokin’ hot immortal warrior looking for his forever love, a randy invisible unicorn, and bad, bad, such bad language. Okay, and some sex. Fine, yes! Lots of sex! And a kitten, a bit of violence, a man who loves knitting, mannibalism, unruly deities, Mayan priests who babysit animals, a naked goddess who wears a bee bikini, leather pants (for men), a very randy ghost who’s desperate for her HEA, anecdotes about evil mermen, a BIG plot twist even the author didn’t see coming, and a ton of romancy kind of stuff.

Brutus is book six in the Immortal Matchmakers, Inc. series by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. This series really is best if read in order. This book, maybe even more than any of the other books in this series, is filled to the brim with total chaos, sexy deities, utter craziness, and did I say chaos?

Brutus’s heart is broken. The universe had given Colel two fated mates, but she chose Rhys, not Brutus. He’s given up on finding love for himself. For now, he has other pressing issues, like saving the world. The plague is sweeping all of the immortal world, causing any unmated beings to flip, meaning if they were good, now they are bad. The world is in chaos. Brutus has traveled to the Amazon jungle to find a village of beautiful female warriors that live there, hoping to convince them to come back with him and hopefully mate with some of the immortals. Of course, things don’t go as planned. Not only is he taken prisoner, one woman in particular has made him forget all about what happened with Colel. The only problem is, she hates him.

warrior women in the jungle - Google Search

Fina is the daughter of the queen of their village. She doesn’t agree with their archaic ways. But her mother won’t listen to her ideas. When the gorgeous man walks into their village, she can’t help but feel the zing when they touch. But men aren’t allowed. That is the rule. And this beautiful man has no idea what he’s gotten himself in to!

I have to also mention that we get a lot more of Zac and Tula’s saga in this one. Mimi has been torturing us with their ongoing dilemma throughout this series. If there ever were two people that deserve a happy ending, it’s these two.

There really isn’t much more that I can say without spoiling anything. Only that I advise you to hang on to your hat when you’re reading this one. I might be alone in thinking there are hidden messages throughout this book, real life messages. But, one thing is for certain. This is a wild ride from cover to cover. Have fun!!!

Irreverently funny, sometimes shock-worthy, Mimi Jean Pamfiloff’s BRUTUS is another madhouse ride into the unknown with the immortals of her imagination! Leave it to this author to take a plague, immortal egos and the end of times and turn it into a sassy and sexy romp through mischief, mayhem and matters of the heart that will have readers laugh out loud, gasp and forget about reality for a few hours!

Fun reading, always entertaining and actually unforgettable. Ms. Pamfiloff is back and Brutus is her latest victim, proving the bigger the ego, the harder they fall!!

I received a complimentary ARC edition from Mimi Jean Pamfiloff! This is my honest and voluntary review.

Holy immortality, what lunacy is this I just read?! Since I just recently found this author a couple of books ago, this Immortal Matchmakers, Inc. world is all new to me. While it might serve a reader to read the books in order, I didn’t feel at all lost and thought the author did a great job filling in the blanks on previous events and peripheral characters.

This book features Brutus, an immortal warrior who finds his own warrior princess. A princess whose tribe makes some unique dinner plans that, at best, make Brutus sweat. And then things just get more bizarre and out of control from there.

I think Mimi Jean should be crowned Queen Supernatural Being Wrangler because there are more beings I ever knew existed and there's a plague that's making them all go crazy. And crazy pretty much sums up this book. A crazy mess guaranteed to make you laugh out loud, get you a little hot and bothered, and just maybe leave you with a little food for thought.

If you’re ready to escape into a world that’s even more messed up than ours, with endearing characters who will steal your heart and leave you with a smile on your face, teleport this one to your device and start reading right away!

Bhahahahahahaha! Snort laughing!

Honestly...this series is the best way to cure the covid doldrums....I mean it, start at the beginning and laugh your way through. I've said it before and I'll say it again, there is no one who "takes you there" with more thoughtful humor than this author.

Brutus is a fantastic addition to this series and seriously...what just happened with Minky??
This series always leaves me wanting more.

Oh my lord this insanity just keeps getting beyond what my poor little human brain can understand. Brutus captured and sexually molested by Amazons is just the tip of the craziness going on although to be truthful this powerful ( wink wink ) male was a true delight to read about. Fina might be the Queens daughter but she's truly a trail blazer and I loved that she had integrity although perhaps she has patience issues ! Add in all my favourite, gorgeous Gods and Goddeses popping up and this wild amalgamation of utterly preposterous, complicated mayhem was such a heady joy to read. If you thought everything would get nicely wrapped up here with a big sparkly bow you might be as happy as I am to realise that there's one more story left to tell. So if sexy times a plenty, wicked goings on and you really want to know how fertile these immortals are then get this book and feel your mind well and truly blown . It's my opinion that very few authors can write as entertainingly as Ms. Pamfioff can !
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

In this next installment of the Immortal Matchmakers, the author takes us on another rollercoaster of emotion and action. With the world in the balance and unmated immortals turning evil, Zac, who is trying to get back the body of his mate, Tula, from Cimil’s crazy unicorn runs into trouble. Tulsa’s spirit is barely holding on. In the meantime, Brutus is headed into the Amazon rainforest to try to convince a band of women to return with him to mate with immortals. As usual, nothing goes as it should! Neither Zac nor Brutus has much luck, although Brutus does “get lucky” many times, whether he likes it or not. Once again, the build up to the ending leaves you in the edge of your seat and the last page leaves you yelling “Noooo!” Now we wait till 2021 to find out where this goes! Mimi Jean is almost as evil as her characters!

I love when I'm chosen to ARC read for one of my all time favorite authors!
Thank you!

What a load of absolute, hilarious drivel!
I was only an hour in, and had lost count of all the snorts and giggles.
So, with this being (apparently) the last book from this series, you'd be expecting a nice story with not too much drama?
How Dare You!!!!
How Double Dare You!!
How could you even expect something so droll and boring from Mimi. Of course there's no nice story and definitely no lack of drama! WOW!!! The whole book just goes crazy. The end of the world!
Of course, there is a HEA, for some of the characters, not for all! So who gets the happy and who doesn't? Haven't we happied everyone?
Hahahaha, I'm not telling.
Wait to meet "The General" Senor Gato, and Mimi's favorite friend Cliffy.
Yes, she can even give us one of those in a final book!!!! Or can she? Maybe it's not really the end for the Matchmakers?

This was a great laugh a minute read for me, full of utter rubbish, like Minky's sparkly toilet!! and other assorted hilarities, that I'm sure lead to Mimi being classed as not quite right in the 'ead.
Thank the gods for that!!!

I have loved this series, and it will be sad to see it finally end,BUT, onwards and upwards!

How can you resist a big burly hot warrior who calls a kitten 'Señor Gato'?

Okay, confession time: I haven't read the rest of the Immortal Matchmakers, Inc. Well, I read the first book.

That being said, despite our dear, darling author's ever expanding bookiverse spread over many many books and I haven't read them all...I was STILL able to enjoy Brutus thoroughly. I realize I may be the oddball that I have a tendency to jump around in series and still grasp the threads of the story and the overarching themes and ideas of the bookiverse.

(Note: I will say I have a binge planned with the other five before this one now. Oh and some Mermen and men in leather pants and vampires. Reading Mimi has the definite potential to derail my reading calendar. I absolutely adore the journey her muse takes us on. Plus I am way overdue a Mimi binge.)

Brutus has been alive for centuries. He thought he had found his mate but the universe had other plans for him. Unfortunately, he finds himself at the mercy of A LOT of Amazons. But one Amazon in particular catches his attention. And luckily for him, she actually listens to what he has to say.

He may annoy her at first. But Fina and Brutus definitely have a spark.

I don't even know how to express to you the madcap insanity that is this world. Mimi gives us humor, some hidden commentary on our world, hot men, amazing women, a cute kitty, a crazy unicorn, gods, demigods, immortal warriors, vampires, ghosts, a mind bending array of paranormal beings and twists and turns.

I absotively posilutely floved it!! Trust me, you want to dive into this insanity! You may want to start at the beginning and read in order OR you can be like me and just go with the flow and enjoy them out of order.

I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

*** Disclaimer: I received an e-ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you, Mimi Jean Pamfiloff ***

Do you love roller coasters? Twists, and twists, and more twists? A page-turner? Look no further: BRUTUS is here! *happy dance*

I do have to warn you that this is a hot (hot, hot) paranormal romance, so expect steamy scenes and graphic language. If you don’t mind those, I encourage you to read this novel (and the whole series if you haven’t already)!!!

Ever since I discovered her books last year or so, I became a Mimi aficionada, and I just love her style (romance, paranormal, humor, what else does a girl need?). 🙂 I say it for all her novels, they are so funny! If I’m feeling a little down, I read them to feel better, even if it lasts only for the few hours I need to finish–I mean devour them!
It’s the kind of stories that absorb you completely, and you feel like one of the protagonists. Yes, the one that tags along and can’t help whatsoever, except to yell at the others to be careful or be quick about something. But I don’t mind being in the backseat. I enjoy hanging out with my new “friends.”

I always have a Mimi’s book on the side for when I need friends to cheer me up. The kind that help you put life on hold (like taking you out for ice cream or to party but without moving from the couch). So, yes, for me Brutus is therapy. 🙂

I can’t say anything about what happens in the book, because I’m afraid to spoil it. I want everybody to enjoy it, so I will keep quiet. Just read it, you will not be disappointed!

If you need a pick me up, a laugh out loud crazy read, look no further. This book, this series of loony but loveable immortals, Gods and Goddesses are just the ticket.

Brutus is adorable, dedicated, stubborn and very tough on the outside, squishy, selfless and sweet on the inside, didn't think he was looking for love. He's on a mission to help other immortals find mates to prevent them turning evil from a plague infecting the non-mated. Instead he finds a tribe of beautiful but sex starved female Amazonian warriors who (mostly) worship the word of the loopiest Goddess of all....Cimil! They all want him, well the General anyway (*sniggers*), but Fina the Princess who doesn't is the bravest and most beautiful of them all........and so starts the mayhem!!!!

Kittens, knitting, fierce warriors, horny ghosts, manibalism, a vampire unicorn desperate to mate and were-penguins can be found amongst the humour, utter chaos, sexiness, leather pants and suede bikinis. It has the usual MJP twists and turns I never see coming, although this might have one of the biggest ever....and a cliffy. Nooooooo!!!! It has made me laugh and put a big smile on my face. MJP has an amazing imagination, so who knows what else is to come? I mean what's with Minky??? I for one cannot wait 😁

I thought Mimi's writing couldn't get much crazier than it already is but damn! She out did herself. Brutus is an insane roller coaster ride through Apocalypse where the good ones are flipping to the evil side and the only cure is the love vaccine. Only those who have found love and are mated are immune to this madness.

Brutus, on Gods orders is to find and bring a group of immortal female warriors so his army can find suitable mates. But it's not that easy.
In between Fina and Brutus story and the madness of Apocalypse we get bits of Zac and Tula. This side story has been growing since the first Immortal Matchmaker book and for me is the most interesting pair. I've loved Zac and Tula from the very first and the way this book ended (on a hated cliffy) I can't wait for the final book- ZAC!. I need a full length novel of perhaps 800+ pages of Zac's awesomeness *sigh*. Can't wait!

Rape is rape regardless how you spin it. And then have 93 pregnancies resulted from it...and for the H and h to be okay with it!?!? No. Just no. And for Zac and Tula first time to so unromantic...WTH. I don't understand how so many enjoyed this book. To each their own.

My first book in the The Immortals Matchmakers universe and lets just say this is book is totally crazy! But in a infectious ridiculously good way. It was a humorous read that made me laugh out loud at the craziness of it all.

Brutus on a mission to save the world from plunging into more chaos and destruction travels to the Amazon to locate an all female warrior tribe to convince them into returning to civilization with him and mating with the many paranormal beings to stop them from going completely evil and destroying each other. But things don't go as planned because these warriors haven't encountered a male specimen in a very long time and they are all sex crazed man hating mannibilisms. Let's just say that Brutus is a extremely virile man that meanest and most resilient warrior cannot ignore.
It's crazy, I know, but this story just works. It's filled to the brim with shenanigans that are extreme and ridiculous leaving you giggling and wanting more.

Although this book is about a new couple, I would suggest reading all the books in this series so you would not be as lost as me. The books are interconnected and has chapters from other characters POV as well. It also ends in a cliffhanger of sorts.

It makes me wonder what truly goes on in that brilliant crazy mind of Mimi Jean. Her imagination and creativity is superb, refreshing and totally wild.

These gods are definitely crazy! Mimi does it again with another insanely ridiculous romp around the globe with the most unbalanced cast of deities ever to rule the universe. Part romance, part comedy, and all a wild ride, this author has an utterly unique writing style that is just simply fun.

As the world continues to spin into chaos as the unmated gods and deities must find partners, Brutus, the immortal head of the warriors must brave the Amazon to find a legendary tribe of women to mate with his troops in order to keep them from becoming evil. At the same time, Zac, the god of Temptation is trying to escape an evil, infatuated invisible unicorn who has stolen the body of his dearly departed mate. The Mistress of Bees in on her way to assist him. What could possibly go wrong?

Describing this story makes it sound like a hot mess, and in all honesty, it is. It is a train wreck of epic proportions that you can’t put down, can’t look away from, and must see what happens next because you become so invested in these people. I truly wonder how the author comes up with this stuff that she does, because it’s silly and over the top, yet it always just brushes the line of too much without ever going over the edge. It’s escapism at its finest and I’m glad that we’re not yet done with this cast of characters.

Totally Gobsmacked!!!

You know when you have to take time to fully digest something you have read before you can accurately put into words your thoughts on it? This is one of those books! My first thought was gobsmacked and then I couldn’t get past that word. Mimi Jean has managed to find a way to keep her devoted readers off balance and completely blindsided by her ability to take your head clean off with twists that you would never see coming. How many times did I yell “Mimi, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?!” Too many to count.

The immortals and gods of the world are on the fast track to becoming evil, that is unless they can all find their fated mates and fall in love. Brutus is an over the top immortal with a hero complex determined to save the world. On a mission in the Amazon looking for the tribe of fierce warrior women in hopes of saving his brethren from the curse, failure is not an option but apparently capture is. Broken hearted from his disastrous declaration of soul deep love to Colel he’s certainly not looking for love, let alone the curve ball the universe has in store for him. After all It’s not possible to have more than one soul mate… Is it? But when he lays eyes on Fina, Princess of the warrior tribe all he wants to do is capture her heart. Brutus is in for the ride of his life as he tries to survive with his temper intact, while trying to convince women that have only one use for men, that they are in danger of turning evil and in order to save the world they should come back to Arizona with him and go on dates.

Mimi Jean Pamfiloff has managed to create a fantastical world full of eccentric Gods and Immortals who are so endearing all while being completely oblivious to their own parallels to human nature. Full of sarcasm, witt, and laughs Brutus is book 6 in the Immortal Matchmakers series and can be read as a stand alone, however for a more captivating glimpse into a witty and eccentric world of immortals and gods you may want to start with the Accidentally series which bore the Immortal Matchmakers spinoff series. I love this whole series but Brutus takes it to another level. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next.

Chaos is reigning in the Immortal world as only Mimi Jean Pamfiloff can create. No one and I mean no one does quirky and funny the way Mimi does. Who else could conjure up a plague that turn good immortals evil, an immortal matchmaking agency, a goddess who wears an army of bees in a hive on her head, a kinky evil invisible unicorn...you get the picture.

Brutus is world and battle weary. He's tired of turmoil and duty. Maybe it's time to just give up. Except he's on a what seems to be an easy, routine mission to the Amazon. It turns out to be anything but a walk in the park. Fina, a warrior princess, rescues him from certain death. She's fierce, strong, resourceful and beautiful and calls to everything in his Uchben heart. She breaks the last bond of his attachment to Colel. Meanwhile the chaos of the plague plays out with jaw dropping consequences.

Another great read by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff.
In the world of the Gods, anything is possible and usually disturbing... very disturbing. Brutus is living the dream of most heterosexual men. Being tied, tortured and forced into sex (Wait! That’s what I’d like to do to him). He is on a mission for the Gods. To stop the flipping of the good gods to evil and the evil beings into good by finding mates for as many of of the good guys as possible.
How can he do this if he is the only one enjoying the company of all these warrior women? The world has gone wonky and Brutus has taken on more than he can chew. But, hey, he’s giving it the ole’ college try.
Meanwhile, Minky, Cimil’s unicorn is doing some strange things to Zac (another god). To bad for Zac that Minky isn’t all sparkles and glitter.
Will all this craziness end or...

Brutus is an immortal warrior who faces quite the challenge as if he wants to ensure that turmoil and mayhem doesn’t erupt he needs to use his charm to convince a clan of female warriors that they would like to mate with his army. It’s a perfect plan but getting them onside, especially the powerful princess of the clan is more of a challenge then he expected.

Fina and her clan have never been exposed to men so when she meets Brutus, she is equal parts intrigued and confused by her feelings for him. Their way of living has suited them well up until now but will Brutus be able to convince them that status quo won’t be as much fun as the alternative?

Fina’s feisty and fiery personality is exactly what Brutus needs as their journey takes us on an experience filled with thrills, surprises and steam that leaves us wanting more stories set in this world.

I’m loving this 6th book in the series! Seriously hot immortals and their fated mates, along with a cast of fun side characters like Chuck, Senor Gato and Niccolo all make for an exciting, fast paced read. Read the series, in order, you’ll love it!

On a side note, I’m glad Minky has finally found her fated mate! I’m not sure if that’s a good thing for the world or not, though only time will tell!!!

I’m a big fan of MJP’s books but I haven’t gotten around to reading her paranormal rom com, Immortal Matchmakers series, so this is my first. Evil unicorns, immortal Gods, warriors with their human mates, and so so so much more. Brutus’ story was so entertaining, unpredictable, funny as heck, sexyyyyyyyy and just couldn’t put it down. In the Immortal World, it’s falling apart, his people are dying, Brutus has got to save it, one way is to head to the Amazon to convince some ladies to come save some of his immortal hopefully to mate. He’s given up on love, but then he sees her. Too bad she doesn’t like him.

Definitely going to make a point to go back and catch up in the series I’ve missed when I can. Mimi just has a way with her stories, such fun, unputdownable, surprising stories. Looking forward to the next one!

As soon as I saw the warning: hot immortal warrior, invisible unicorn, unruly deities, Mayan priests, ghosts…and having read Colel, the previous book in the series…I had to have this. Each book can stand alone, but if you are anything like me, once you read one book of a series that you love, you want them all.

We have lots of laughs, fun, some danger and hot sex. What more can you want in a paranormal, fantasy romance.

I love how Brutus started out. Brutus is tied to a tree and after the 9th Amazonian warrior demanded he put up, he said, “Hurry. Get it over with then.” He is a demigod and has an unlimited potential to get it up. 🙂 I love a god that knits. And, he has a dog he knits for. LOL

He thought he could escape at any time, but he needed their help.

Zac has been tricked into mating Minky, the invisible unicorn, and is paying a hefty price for it, losing his love, Tula, his true mate. How will he be able to get rid of the pesky, vindictive unicorn and get his human back by his side?

Plague, zoom meetings, all the supernatural and paranormal characters, lots of laughs amidst the danger, makes Brutus an exciting, nonstop adventure into the world of the Immortal Matchmakers series.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Brutus by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff.

Those of us who love the Immortal Matchmaker series have been waiting (impatiently?) for this book and it doesn't disappoint. It is arguably the funniest story of the bunch, and the most perplexing.

Brutus is the most badass of all the Uchben soldiers, who pledged their immortal lives to the Gods and saving the world. Brutus has been tasked with convincing a tribe of immortal female warriors that they must come with him to find mates or turn against each other and go full evil. Let's just say they are more than a bit resistant. But Brutus has an army to worry about, as well as the unpredictable Gods.

""Are all of the gods so crazy?” she (Fina) whispered. “Yes,” he replied. “I heard that!” Colel barked.

When his love, Goddess Colel, chose a different mate than him, he was devastated. But does he have another chance with one of the Warrior Princesses? We meet Queen Chacacacakhan, which meant She Who Swings Fastest From the Tall Tree of Wisdom and Crushes Skulls for Fun. Brutus realizes quickly that he is over his head, and runs away with Fina, the Queen's daughter. I loved the sparks that flew between Brutus and Fina. And we learned all the less manly skills that Brutus has, like knitting and communicating with kittens. So many laugh out loud moments while Brutus, Fina and Colel traipsed through the jungle and ran from the tribe. And of course there are the Gods that were in Sedona, watching over the unmated immortals. The sheer ridiculousness of some of the funny scenes will make you laugh. Like the God of Death discussing torturing a Zoom meeting pervert bomber.

“There’s another one.” Votan listened and nodded. “Yes. He’s showing me his penis.” Votan listened. “Yes, that would be lovely. Thank you.”

And when the evil turning immortals start to put their efforts into social media.

"“They appear to be on some program called Twitter and are writing mean messages about people—someone called the Orange Man and another they call Creepy Uncle.”"

There are lessons learned by both Brutus and Fina, such as:

"Weak is the person who needs control.” and "Heroism wasn’t always about running headfirst into battle or fighting wars. Being a hero was about duty—to your family, friends, tribe, team, and companion animals."

This story ends with true chaos and bewilderment. There are surprises and a dreaded cliffhanger. I loved how after working with these characters through two series, author Pamfiloff still has fresh things to say about them. She's not done putting them through the wringer. And let's not forget about the God of Temptation Zac and his long lost love Tula! There's plenty of stuff to make this book a perfect quarantine palate pleaser.

The Immortal Matchmakers, Inc. continues!

The latest installment from the Immortals’ saga is overflowing with drama, chaos, sass, and sexiness. Book 6 features Brutus, one of the hottest of the immortal soldiers in service to the Gods, and is yet another 5-star read from Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. Her books have become an automatic 1-click for me, and across all the different genres she brings us, I have yet to be disappointed. The Immortal Matchmakers, Inc. - Book 1 (Andrus) was actually my VERY first Mimi Jean book! After Andrus I went back to devour all the Accidentally books, and now I’m pretty sure I own her complete works. #sorrynotsorry

We see nearly EVERYONE from the Immortal Matchmakers world make an appearance throughout this book, which I just loved. That check in to see what they’re all up to after we’ve absorbed their stories earlier in the series is such a treat! In my opinion, this series is best read in order, because there is a LOT (of amazingness) going on. Mimi Jean’s world building is fantastically fun!

If you enjoy hilariously sassy wit, adventure, steamy romance - and a serving of extra chaos and crazy courtesy of the Goddess of the Underworld, then you absolutely need this book. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. However, I’ve purchased MANY of Mimi Jean’s books in the past, and would have happily 1-clicked this one!

My general rating rationale:

3 – Perfectly fine story, perhaps some minor editorial errors. Entertaining. Typically with this rating I feel like there could have been MORE – be it believably/relatability, character development, internal dialogue, explanations or depth, richness to the overall storyline, etc. May lose a bit of engagement here and there but always finish reading.
4 – A very good book. Engaging, with well-developed characters, a great plot, relatable scenarios; keeps you invested to the last page. Would recommend to reader friends.
5 – Can’t say enough amazing things, loved the characters, fabulously detailed plot, a quick hook, intense investment in both story and characters (including supporting characters) throughout the book. Will tell anyone who will listen that they should read it (if they won’t listen, I’ll be louder).
