"I don't know what to do with you."

A Socially Conscious Alpha

Selfless heir to the Rutledge family fortune, Thaddeus Rutledge leads a life of privilege he'd rather not fall back on. After returning home to Aurora from military deployment, he follows his heart and opens a community soup kitchen to serve the less fortunate. But no matter how much he gives, something's missing. All Thaddeus wants is someone who can love him for who he is, not what he can do for them.

A Runaway Omega

Seth Cooper is locked in a gilded cage. Abandoned as a baby and taken in by The White Lotus brothel, he's learned that as an omega, he has no value other than in service to the alpha clientele. Still, Seth can't help but wonder if somewhere out there, there's an alpha who could treat him right.

A Rescue Of Two Hearts

When a medical emergency gives Seth the out he so desperately wants, it's up to Thaddeus to decide his fate: either give Seth up to the men hunting him down, or shelter him and risk it all for love.

Love Me is a 33,000 word stand-alone novella set in an alpha/beta/omega universe. It contains alpha/omega knotting, loving and depending on each other to be exactly what the other needs.

Piper Scott

Piper Scott debuted as a trio of authors looking to write together for fun. Their collaboration led to three novella-length books (Love Me, Save Me, and Keep Me,) before life sent them in different directions, leaving just one author with an omegaverse plot bunny that wouldn’t leave her alone. Obey was born several months later… but the plot bunny never left—it multiplied.

Left to her own devices, Piper Scott writes scorching but heartfelt contemporary omegaverse romance about men you can’t help but fall in love with.

Also writes under the pen name Emma Alcott.

It was a sweet, light-hearted story, with a good enough background plot to keep us interested even more in the romance development. There were a lot (and I mean A LOT) of typos, but the story was cute enough to make me less irritated with them. I did love the epilogue though. It was quite funny.

Oh, this could've used some serious proofreading! There were so many errors that it was hard to enjoy the story. There were also issues like saying in one part of the story that Tad's last relationship was 6 months before but later on it said that he had been celibate for years. I guess both those things could be true but I highly doubt it. Also, I am not usually ok with rescuers taking advantage of the people they rescued even if they try to abstain.

You can always count on Piper Scott to deliver a sweet , quirky and hot tale and Love Me , isn't the exception.

Love Me is an entertaining and satisfying , less than two hours , story.

Dennis Adams is a new to me narrator . I liked his voice and reading style; listening to him at 1.5 was the right speed for me to enjoy this audiobook.

Piper Scott lays the groundwork for a very intriguing omega-verse universe in the first of her Rutledge Brothers novels, Love Me. The story of Seth, a runaway enslaved prostitute, as he helps to bring the powers of The White Lotus Brothel to justice.

Very romantic, the wealthy Thad (who has a giant heart), pledges to help Seth. Ms. Scott performs her magic, and they fall in love.

The audiobook is performed by Dennis Adams. New to me, Mr. Adams does a great job. I love his smooth, melodic voice. I hope this is just the beginning of Mr. Adams career, because he’s perfectly suited to the M/M romance genre.

While this book is pretty much a companion to the His Command series or at least in the same 'verse, it can be listened to as a standalone.

Seth manages to escape from the evil clutches of the White Lotus Brothel's owner and is determined to find a way to help rescue his best friend and the others in the brothel. While escaping from one of the Director's men, he is found by Tad Rutledge, who runs a Soup Kitchen and who vows to protect Seth and help him bring down the Director and his empire.

This was a short audiobook at almost 2 and a half hours, still, it was entertaining and the story was well-developed. The romance was pretty insta, but considering the length of the book, it's understandable. It has action and violence and hot, knotty sex.

Dennis Adam is a new-to-me narrator, and I found his voice pleasant and engaging. It was a pretty smooth, even narration that I have no trouble recommending.

Nice novella. If you need a quick story with a little suspense but no drama. This is the story for you. I enjoyed the story. Loved the writing, and a loved a few side characters. I’m not really a novella girl so I’m like it could have been so much more if longer but the story works for a novella.

A society where Omegas are thought to be of no value, used and abused as Alphas see fit. Raised in a brothel Seth is one of those Omegas and he has spent his life “servicing” his boss’s clients, until he can no longer take it and jumps when opportunity presents an out. Tad is different from most Alphas in the fact that he sees value in everyone and runs a soup kitchen and Omega outreach in an effort to better his world. Luckily Seth manages to find Tad just as his boss “Director Baylor” is almost on him. Sweet story with interesting characters, Seth is so far out of depth with Tad as everything he has learned and had to do to survive only make Tad angry with him, Seth must learn that there is more to him then he was previously taught and that he can be loved and Tad is the perfect one to show him.

Short and sweet with the perfect amount of drama.

Really enjoyed this rerelease from a favorite author. I’d read this series once before but long enough ago that reading it again with updates was a new and enjoyable experience.
Seth and Ted go great together when they figure it out. I loved Seth’s hidden strengths and the courage it took to escape and then step up to set things in motion to help others. Their attraction and chemistry was really great and I love their dialogue as well.
Since this is pretty short there isn’t a huge amount of world building and detail but still plenty, you can easily see and understand what’s going on.
Overall, give this a read, it’s really a good fairly quick non-shifter omegaverse/mpreg.

Great start to a new series. Seth and Tad's story grabbed me from the first page, even though its a shorter read then I usually go for I loved every part of it. We get two people coming together; both struggling with their own secrets and drama, but a connection that could save them both from themselves. Cute, sexy and leaves you wanting book 2 now. Can't wait for the next. I seen this was a previous released book but has been edited and changed some. I didn't read the previous version so I can't compare that to this I can only say this was awesome and worth it. I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book.

What a great read!

Wow. So this is where it all began. I first read Piper Scott with Obey. This explains some things I missed by not having read these books first. I’m so glad the authors started on this journey. Having read most of what Piper Scott has done since then and how the world has grown and expanded, I am truly grateful. I may know the outcome of what comes next but being able to read their stories makes it so much better. I highly recommend reading these if you’ve read the His Command series. If you haven’t then these are the best ones to start with. You will love getting lost in Piper Scott’s world.

I loved reading Love Me by Piper Scott. I loved Tad and Seth. They were wonderfully developed and both strong characters. I loved that Tad was able to see through Seth's tricks and wouldn't allow him to use them on him. I loved the chemistry between them and how they complimented each other. I loved the ending of the story and how it made me laugh. There were some grammar and editing mistakes, but as I read an advanced reader copy, I am hoping that the book went through one final round of editing before being released. Loved it

I thought that it was a bit odd that Seth's past had no impact on any of the Rutledge's from the get go. It's not like they were wary until they got to know him, but rather, he was immediately and openly accepted. It made for a nice story, but I didn't find it to be realistic.

Beside that one point though, I thoroughly enjoyed reading about how strong and brave Seth was as he ran from The White Lotus. He truly lucked out when he was found by Tad.

I can't wait to read the other books set in this world.

This was sweet. Thad is a good guy and Seth hasn’t met a good guy in his life and it takes a bit for him to trust.

This is one of those stories that I like but can’t say much about. Seth was able to let his walls down and find what love really was and with Thad’s support he was able to take down the man who had used him for years.

I received an ARC of this book and am giving an honest review.

Chivalry is not Dead

I absolutely loved this book. It might seem like I give a lot of high ratings, but with over 9,000 books on my Kindle & counting with new titles being released daily, I have the luxury of only reading what I truly want. If I don't like a book I don't bother forcing myself to push through to the end. My limited free time is very valuable. One of my favorite genre is Mpreg Paranormal initially until authors began writing Contemporary Mpreg.

I've owned this particular book since February 7th, 2017. Nearly two years and I am just now rediscovering it. I am so glad I not only purchased it but the other two books in this series. The Third Book was re-released and it peaked my interest. Fortunately I have finally learned to trust my instincts, so I checked the list of Piper Scott books in my Amazon Cloud Contents. Low and behold I not only owned what I thought was just a new intriguing book to read, but its other two companion books as well. Such a discovery on a Friday night is sad and wonderful. Exhausted from a week of working, knowing I was going to be catching up on missed sleep, and trying to finish up reviews for books I'd read earlier in the week.

Beginning a new series with obligations is difficult, but oh so pleasurable I couldn't resist. Piper Scott has steadily grown as an author, but this book showed me she had found her niche when she began writing contemporary Mpreg. This First Book in a series is wonderful despite terrible things that occurred in it, maybe because of them.

Piper was adept at handling challenging subject matter and creating a world where the reader is pulled in. Rooting for the good guys and detesting the villains. Reading about Omegas being treated as less than is a trope that I can go back to like my favorite sugar / snickerdoodle cookies. Only I gain knowledge and an entertaining story instead of annoying extra inches ;0). Tough Omegas forced to endure terrible treatment just because they were born Omegas makes me so angry. But reading how they triumph despite every horrible thing that was thrown at them is a special treat.

Piper Scott did this in her first Rutledge brother book. Seth was that mixture of tough yet vulnerable that my soul craves. Tad his Alpha rescuer was just the right combination of smart, proud, tender, compassionate, yet lonely that Seth needed. This is a runaway story, that is full of fear, violence, sexual abuse, compassion, hard work, generosity, manipulation, temptation, and finally love.

I am going to do a few errands and then I am going to start Book 2. Thank you Piper Scott for a wonderful weekend with the Rutledge Bros and their amazing Omegas.

3.5 🌟 rounded up

I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read with Insta-attraction between the two men. This bothered me a bit due to Seth's previous circumstances, but it is what it is.

Tad runs a soup kitchen and is wanting to expand by adding a second hand store. He is ex-military and able to deal with the riff raff that happens to come in occasionally. All he aspires to do is to help others without depending on the wealth of his family, and he is doing his best to make that happen.

Seth has been a virtual prisoner to a man called Director Baylor. He and several other omegas are trapped in a sex trafficking ring, and no one has ever escaped; until now. When an emergency arises, Seth has an opportunity to grab Baylor's phone and escape. He is able to get away, but he has never been on his own, let alone on the streets.

When Tad is closing the soup kitchen and taking out the trash, he happens to notice a small sound or movement. He is on guard, but soon realizes that the person hiding is most likely not a threat. However, the thugs coming down the alley most definitely are, so he covers for the young man until the coast is clear. Then, he brings his new stray inside to get some food into his belly.

Seth is scared, but he is also terribly tired. He asks if he can just stay the night at the kitchen, but Tad tells him that won't work. However, he does offer for Seth to come home with him, and Seth decides that he is willing to do what he is used to doing in order to not sleep on the streets and be safe from Baylor's goons. But when they get to Tad's place, he is offered a bath, clean clothes, and the guest room.

Tad knows something is going on with Seth, but he isn't going to push. But when Seth tells him his story, he reaches out to his friend on the force for help. Things progress pretty quickly between the two men, and they end up attending a party under both police protection and Tad's wealthy mother's private security. However, danger still lurks around corners, but this time Seth has back up.

When the unexpected happens to Seth, he fears that Tad will blame him or be angry. He is definitely not expecting the reaction with which he is met. The two men have faced danger and come out the other side to live their happily ever after.

Happy reading!

This was a sweet little story about a young prostitute on the run and the white knight who takes him in and turns his whole world around. It was easy to like both characters. While I found Tad a little too good to be true sometimes, he made a great rescuer and nurturer for Seth. One thing that I liked about Seth's character is that the authors made him more realistic based on his background. He is used to seducing men and being wanted for sex, so it makes sense that he initially tries this in a confused attempt to deal with/thank/relate to Tad. The Director makes a menacing character and the sense of danger threading through the story adds a great touch. The one place that I felt the story was lacking was in editing. I'm reviewing from an advance copy of the story and (aside from a few proofing errors that I trust got cleaned up in the final copy) what struck me were the occasional inconsistencies and things that were repeated too often, as if the authors didn't coordinate enough. According to the author info, the book is written by three authors working together. I think this may explain things like Tad reflecting that his last relationship had broken up 6 months earlier but, in a later chapter, revealing that he had been celibate for years. I also found it disappointing that the mpreg piece was almost not there. I will still definitely read the sequel--already set up with the fact that Tad is one of a set of identical triplets. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.

This book was a lot more suspenseful than I thought it would be, with Seth on the run from a criminal boss type character; I enjoyed that aspect quite a bit, felt like a crime novel, not just a romance. I could've actually seen this being a full length book, had the author wanted to draw things out & I would've been totally on board.
That isn't to say that the book felt incomplete; it was one of those rare shorts that didn't feel terribly rushed, even if I would've enjoyed more.
There are some dark aspects to the story; however, what would've been the darkest parts occur either off page or in the past off page; they're strongly alluded to, but never described in detail. Seth might be a bit too mentally well even for all in his past, but I can't say if that's realistic or not. There's enough lightness & humor & sweetness in the book that recovery seems highly possible. And it is fiction.
This did contain a few of the frequent aspects of omegaverse books, so if omegaverse isn't your thing, I can't say for sure that this would turn your mind otherwise; however, I enjoyed it.
The narration was good too - I was not familiar with this narrator, but I was pleased.
I will definitely be reading the next two short books in this series & would enjoy them in audio if that should ever come.

*Review of 2019 republished version, which has been re-edited and the content has been significantly changed*

Loved it! It’s pretty much insta love, but that’s no surprise since the story is short. I’m not always a fan, but it worked in this story. Seth is a total firecracker and Tad is the definition of a caregiver and I just liked them together. A sweet, organic and uncomplicated kind of love. I wish the story had been longer! I would read a full length novel in a heartbeat.

The background story is interesting. It’s not brand new information if you’ve read the related series (both of them), but I appreciated getting more of an inside view of Baylor and his operation. It really makes you feel for the victims, especially since this kind of stuff happens in real life.

And a note - Mal (one of the side characters) is my absolute favorite character written by Piper, so I’m glad he’s introduced here, but I honestly got emotional reading about his younger, vulnerable self. I need Vincent to swoop in and heal his heart now!! His story is so incredibly heartbreaking, but beautiful. If you haven’t read it, you’re missing out!

This was my first omegaverse/mpreg story and I was super nervous but it did not take me long to start loving it! I got hooked quick and while I thought specifically the mpreg would turn me off at least a little bit.. I did not feel that way at all. This really was the perfect intro into this genre for anyone new to it!

This was a sweet and captivating read. I really liked both characters and the author did a great job of really demonstrating their characteristics as alpha and omega. I liked Tads protective streak and Seth's resilience. Also... who in the heck knew that knotting (which I just learned about today) could actually be kinda hot?

Lastly, this was a first time author for me and her writing was incredible and I was able to jump into the story with ease. I am always nervous to start a new author so immediately being able to connect to the writing is always awesome.

I cannot wait to read more from this series!!

I really liked this couple and the drama that brings them together in a dark back alley! A meet sinister as opposed to a meet cute.
Author Piper Scott did a great job of keeping the story focused, limiting the hand wringing and introspection. No extensive or explicit description of Seth's work as an escort, but I did not need all of the salubrious details of Seth's life in Baylor's hands to understand his desperation. As a result, I enjoyed this story more than I thought I could with its shorter length. It just could have been a tad longer on describing Tad and Seth's time together before the happy finale; maybe a bit more of the romantic times to balance out the Baylor syndicate drama.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the story; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Short, sweet, thrilling, and surprising!

I really enjoyed this book. It has everything I like and more.
A hero with a heart of gold and a strong and firey omega that steals his heart. I loved that the omega side was sort of secondary to the story and it's such a thrilling, intense, and somewhat devious story. So much happens and I was fully immersed from the first sentence.

A very concise story, I just wanted more, especially with the ending 😉 I'm looking forward to more in the series and hopefully, we'll get to see more of Seth & Tad in the future!!

I’m a huge fan of Piper’s work and this was no exception. Tad and Seth met in darkness, fear and abuse yet came through to the light. The horror of Seth’s life fortunately was not too descriptive, easy enough to understand his suffering. Tad a true strong hero, Seth is snarky and I loved the anticipation of Tad and Seth coming together. It wasn’t just the mc’s I fell in love with, most of the characters were part of a huge family network.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book for my honest opinions of which I’m under no obligation to do so. I recommend this story and can’t wait to read the books of Silas and Harrison Rutledge.

I was a little iffy on the concept of the relationship that developed between the MCs. There are definitely gray areas of consent to my eye. The power dynamic between a runaway and their rescuer isn't something I would think would make a romance, but it kinda works here. I get that Tad really does fall for this guy right away. I just wish they had taken more time to let the relationship develop. The whole story felt rushed. The editing also shows a rush to market. If you can overlook the poor editing and aren't put off by the speed of the relationship, it's a good story.

Sweet story with interesting characters:-
Seth - an Omega raised in a whore house, used to servicing his boss, Director Baylor and his client's and Tad - An alpha triplet and owner of a soup kitchen.
When Seth gets saved by Tad from one of Baylors hench men he's apprehensive as to what Tad wants in return. Can he ever trust anybody to not want just his body but him as a person and show him the love that he truly deserves?!
A sweet sexy book and I for one can't wait for book 2! Great start to the series.
