Hannah and Noah have not only got to know each other better, they are also starting to understand what Hannah’s family connection to Porthgolow really is. But will the answers make Hannah happy? As Christmas approaches, could their yuletide escape send shivers up their spines? Or will it be as warm and toasty as a glass of mulled wine?
I grew up in London surrounded by books and with a cat named after Lawrence of Arabia. I studied English Literature at the University of East Anglia and live in Norwich with my husband David.
I'm a total book nerd and my TBR pile is out of control. I would quite like to be a ghost hunter, and I'm a huge fan of a fictional hero.
When I'm not writing, I spend my spare time reading, returning to London or exploring the beautiful Norfolk coastline.
I love hearing from readers, so please get in touch if you have a question or if you just want to say hello.
Despite being part of a linked series set in the same place, I read this novel as a stand alone and it worked perfectly. Some of the characters have been in previous novels so I am definitely going to catch up with the other books but it’s not essential to have read them first in order to enjoy this wonderful festive romance. I love Edinburgh and enjoyed the little snippets of familiar and recognisable places that pop up. I have never visited Cornwall though and Cressida McLaughlin really brings it to life. I live by the sea and know how it can be differently beautiful in the winter months. I felt this throughout the whole novel and I’d love to visit Cornwall someday. The hotel sounds like bliss and I kept escaping there for a while. I just want to slink into one of those luxury beds after filling up on delicious food at the cream tea bus. Such a vividly described back drop really helped to bring this novel to life. As Hannah and Noah are stranded together for Christmas, they are thrown together for the festive period and sparks begin to fly. As well as their budding, romantic friendship, a mystery around the past of the hotel develops as well as some interesting things about both Noah and Hannah. I loved the added mysteries and drama within the romantic plot and enjoyed speculating on reasons for things that happened. It was a great way to develop the main characters through something a little more than a romance. This is a delightful book and my only complaint is that it ended. I am definitely returning to Porthgolow to find out more about its residents and its charm. A perfect festive read.
Book 4 of a 4 part book series. Note to readers, you can either read/listen to this as a 4 part book series like I’m going to or there is a full length novel which includes all of the 4 parts should you prefer to read it in that format.
So that was the last book to the 4 part series and what a great lovely series it has been, I have thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. I loved how it all turned out for a Hannah and Noah. There was a couple of bonus bit’s too which occurred, which involved a surprise wedding proposal & nope I’m not telling you who, and also the return of two characters from a previous series, being Delilah and Sam. Was lovely to catch up with them for sure.
I’m also please to know that it doesn’t end here, there are more books to come with this series based in Cornwall and featuring the cream tea bus and all the characters I’ve met so far. So I’m very glad that I don’t have to say bye to the characters just yet.
Wow. What an ending to a magical Christmas read on the Cornish Cream Tea Bus. The relationship between Hannah and Noah was wonderful and I loved how Spirit was involved in everything at the hotel. The inclusion of Audrey and the potential ghostly sightings added a lovely side story and when Lila and Sam returned for Christmas it felt everyone was where they should be for a wonderful Christmas. Just a brilliant finale for a great series of reads. I can’t wait to get the paperback for my shelves.
Just when you've got to know the residents of Porthgolow & they feel like coming home to family, the series ends 😔
I have loved every minute of reading these fab little books & I so hope Cressida is planning more for Charlie & the bus. I've absolutely adored the sub titles of these & the covers are so beautifully illustrated.
Awww I'm a bit teary now that I've finished The Cornish Cream Tea Christmas. It was amazing and I loved it. I highly recommend this series to anyone but do suggest to start with The Cornish Cream Tea Bus first.
I enjoyed this series, it was exactly what i needed at the moment. Light hearted, easy going, fun and fast paced. There was a little mystery, a little romance and great friendships. The ending was as I expected but I still love these predictable stories. They leave me warm and fuzzy.
4th and final part of the series and you knew exactly what was going to happen. Mixed signals etc but it all came together in end like you know it would. I read this in 1 day joys of being unemployed. I have a new spin off series to read called The Cornish Cream Tea Wedding featuring characters from the previous 3 series set in cornwall. I hope to read these in 2026 and get my kobo down to a respectable figure.
