If you enjoyed "You've Got Mail" you're going to Love this book! Claudia Burgoa gives us something perfect to add some lightness to our days while we are "Sheltered in Place" and I for one LOVED IT!

I have always enjoyed Claudia's Rom-Com's but this has to be the best one that she has written to date. I think this was going to be a standalone originally but I am THRILLED to see that we will be getting more, up next is Ford's twin brother Nate and I'm not telling you who the lucky girl is you'll have to read this book to figure it out.

5 That Was The Best Stars

If you are looking for something to lift your spirits, to take you out of yourself right now, THIS IS THE BOOK. I loved the blurb and idea so it was a no-brainer to click and get it. It read fast because it was fun. It wasn't too out there/over-the-top hilarious, it was just right for me. There was enough for me to sit, not do what my life said needing doing and enjoy myself silly.

Now, what is important to know about this book is the problems or hiccups for these two main characters are not earthshattering.
You will not be feeling great angst. Money issues, medical issues, anything that may normally happen to regular people are not part of this tale.

But this story does highlight a specific issue more normal in this world of Influencers and people of great public interest. Not everything is as it appears...the visuals that show up regularly on everyone's pages on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter may not tell the real story.

Influencers have come forward and shared the pressure to show a perfect life and the need for constant content 24/7. People who have made huge technical discoveries become wanted not for who they are but for what they can do...for their talents and how it can be used by others if they are not careful.

So there is that. And if you are one of those people, with MILLIONS of followers watching your vlogs, listening to your podcasts, watching your channels on Youtube, and watching every post you do on Instagram, it can become more than you ever thought...and maybe you might lose your self.

With being the geeky tech guy who unfortunately has a crappy relationship with his dad and stepmother/family that too can be hard. It can make you not trust anyone or if you do, they better be part of the very inner circle.

Love, no...Parents' relationship taught that lesson, not happening. So this grownup geek learned and only does "fun buddies" and is very explicit that there is no chance for more from the start.

Now how these people are part of this book is what you will learn if you read it. And read it you should. Slow Burn, Smart Story, Fun Ying/Yang, and Smart Life Advice, It's all here. Enjoy.

Such an enjoyable book - loved it!
5 stars

Good God - this book slayed me. I feel like I might have had some sort of profound epiphany from reading this book. Obviously, I’m a romantic and believe in love - but this book just made me confident in the fact that there’s a lid for every pot, and that you can find your perfect guy if you just be yourself. 🥰

This is the first book I’ve read by Claudia Burgoa and yet somehow she managed to get into my head and write a love story about two perfectly imperfect people that I immediately fell in love with. Although I’m the polar opposite of Persy - she's wild, confident, mouthy, extroverted - I connected with her. Her fears are my fears. I found myself saying “same, girl” throughout the book - which was nice, if embarrassing. She was quirky - but in such a way that made her endearing rather than irritating. I could keep waxing lyrical about her - but simply put, I loved her.

Ford is equally delicious. He’s a grumpy introvert - irritated by Persy and everything she stands for. He’s also a card carrying commitment-phobe. Relationships are a four letter word for him. And unlike other heroes who are supposedly anti-relationship, Ford is ride-or-die with that shit. Yet he can’t help be intrigued by Persy and slowly but surely, it progresses into something more.

I suppose this is a slow-burn kind of romance. It’s the progression of disliking to tolerating, to a tentative sort of friendship through to best friends. And then… Yet there’s not much of the sex - or even kissing; Just one sex scene tacked on at the end. And while I am always down for a sex scene - this book lost absolutely nothing by not having much. It's about so much more.

I loved the texting - both because it’s cute as a button but also because it’s fun to read a story with a mix of normal storytelling, texting and the occasional podcast episode. We get both perspectives - his and hers - and it’s in first person, present tense. Add to that, it’s written in a very chatty, informal way. I felt it was almost like we were having a conversation with the characters and they were explaining to us, as a reader, what was happening in their lives. That makes it a really quick read. Those pages keep turning and I couldn’t put this book down. I actually got the rage when I had to put the book down to attend to life stuff. Once I’d finished the book, I felt genuinely bereft. What am I going to do with my life now? Well apart from take life advice from Persy and go find my very own Ford, that is.

I’ve a funny feeling that Ms Burgoa is going to be my next obsession. If her other books are even half as good as this one, then I’m all in. And if Nyx, Eros, Nate et al get their own books, too, then I might just keel over in happiness! This book left me feeling hopeful, happy and with that lovely feeling of butterflies in your stomach just like falling in love. 5 stars and very highly recommended.

Claudia Burgoa has delivered another amazing book with Wrong Text, Right Love. It had me laughing out loud and loving all the characters. This quick read had me in a perma-smile and left me feeling the hashtag #happyisu. Wrong Text, Right Love has very little angst which made it such a refreshing, light, feel good read that I could not put down. I recommend this rom-com to all that is looking to be captivated by humour, banter and fun characters.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW:
You know it’s a good book when you forgo much needed sleep to finish it. All the narrators performance as Percy, Ford and all the secondary characters were amazing. Claudia Burgoa’s words brought to life never fails to amaze me. I laughed out loud and even got choked up a couple of times. Overall, this is a great audio to get lost in!

I keep falling in love with Claudia’s stories over and over again!
Not only is she a great writer, but she also creates beautiful characters that remain in your heart even long after you finish reading.
Persy and Ford are perfect! They are a unique combination. They made me laugh and smile a lot. And the secondary characters are amazing too! I wouldn’t mind getting to know them better.
Which is great because I started reading this book thinking it was a standalone. But I am thrilled to learn that we will have Nate’s story next! I assure you, he is as intriguing as his brother.
I have to mention too that I loved how Claudia smoothly incorporated podcasts, emails and texts messages into the story. They complemented it and made it more dynamic and entertaining. Which really makes sense considering the theme of this modern romance.
A topic that, being in my twenties, was really easy to relate to. Not that I’m an influencer or a billionaire. Anyway, read it and you will understand what I mean.
So yes, you should read this beautiful slow burn story that will leave you with a big smile on your face!

RATING 4.5 STARS

Wrong Text, Right Love is book one in the Against All Odds series by Claudia Burgoa. I’ve been wanting to start this series for so long and I’m glad I finally found the time because I enjoyed it so much. These two were complete opposites, or so they thought. This was a fun, sweet book that I can’t wait to tell you about!

Persephone (Persy) Brassard is twenty eight years old and is a very successful influencer. She has a degree in psychology and runs a blog where she gives advice to people all over the world. She is also an author of self help books. As a result, she shares her life through social media with the world. Persy believes in love, her parents are a perfect example. But she herself hasn’t been so lucky. Her boyfriends call her fun, but not the kind of person they can bring home to their mothers. With her recent break up, she needs a new place to live. Luckily, her agent is able to help her find a great place except for her new grumpy next door neighbor.

“Love is extremely complicated and should be handled with care. I choose not to deal with it.”

Ford Chadwick is thirty four years old and is a self made billionaire. He is a workaholic and thrives on his privacy. He requires quiet to concentrate on his projects. He stays completely away from all social media. His home is his sanctuary until the new neighbor moves in. Ford does not believe in love, especially for himself. Past experiences have proven that it’s not for him. When the beautiful new neighbor starts distracting him with her yoga on the balcony and that sexy voice, his life is turned upside down.

While Ford and Persy battle it out as neighbors, Persy struggles to figure out what she keeps doing wrong in her relationships. She rarely allows herself to drink too much but on a rare occasion while out with her sisters, she does and drunk dials her ex. Only it’s not her ex, but a stranger she oddly connects with. They begin the perfect relationship, no names, no private details, just talking, sharing, getting to know each other.

Persy and Ford’s relationship confuses them both. While they argue more than anything else and irritate each other, they also feel attracted to one another. But doing anything about it is off limits. They are neighbors and don’t even like each other. The more time they spend together, though, lines seem to blur. At the same time, Persy’s text relationship is also confusing and addicting. She’s never felt so free to share with anyone before. They are getting to know each other at a level she’s never experienced.

This book was just so much fun, completely adorable. I loved Persy and Ford. And watching things play out was just so endearing. I was turning the pages to see how it was all going to work out. I loved getting to know both of their families. The next book is called Didn’t Expect You and features Nyx, Persy’s sister whom I have already met in Claudia’s The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series. And Nate, who is Ford’s brother. I can’t wait to read it!

I liked it, but not as much as I:

1. Expected to like it.
2. Wanted to like it.

This started off nice and I mean it was a little quirky too, but somewhere it just lost its charm for me and I couldn't feel the characters anymore, I started skimming and yes.....it just couldn't pull me in as much as I thought it would.

When I started reading the book, I was enjoying it and the light-hearted feel of the book was a good break from the other book I'm currently reading (that one isn't dark but it is emotionally exhaustive at certain points, at least for me). So, naturally I built expectations based on the promising, albeit a little cliche, starting.

I went from this:

to this:

by the end of the book.

This had the Sunshine and the Grump trope and I'm ALL for it.

and me whenever I find an author who writes it with ✨ perfection ✨:

I like those buoyant and bubbly heroines when I'm in the mood for it and I was. And no doubts, I liked Persy/Persephone but it was Lang I didn't really root for in the book and let me tell you: I'm a rooter. I need to root for the MCs or the book just loses a few points in my eyes. She points it out and I agree: He gave her mixed signals and . I wouldn't have been this disappointed if there would have been some grovelling and taking time to come to terms with everything that has happened, but there was no such thing and I just couldn't hold it in any longer.
Plus, the writing was good, a little cheesy and even though Lang/Ford waxed poetic sometimes, it was more like speaking hearts and flowers in general and not something substantial to them. When I look for hearts and flowers, I want something that is uniquely them and doesn't sound like a rip-off of those anniversary cards of gift shops, duh.

At the end of writing this, I feel that I'm being generous with my three star rating but I did enjoy the family moments they had with their siblings, so it compensated for the elements that I felt lacking between the couple. I'm not saying I hated this, but I didn't love it either.

I usually like Miss Burgoa's works. Wrong Text, Right Love is not the right one for me. The sex scenes is really toward the end of the story. Just that.

The story is very confusing for me. I can not understand the plot. The writing style is not helping. Too much text and it is confusing while listening to the audiobook. The chemistry between the characters is cold and distant. The comedic banter is not funny. This is suppose to be a enemy to lover romance. In this trope, I need a strong chemistry between the characters.

Anyway... it is super cold in the office today. Moving on to the next book.

What a deliciously fun read this was!! I devoured it in just a couple of sittings (If I had the opportunity, I’d done it in 1) and couldn’t get enough of it. It was well past my bedtime last night (1AM) when I finished the book. The day after; I’m EXHAUSTED now, lol. But.I.just.couldn’t.stop.reading and this book was well worth staying up for! If I was able to do so, I'd give it a 4,5 star rating over here on GR.

It has a fun and engaging story-line that provided me with more than enough LOL moments thanks to the writing. There’s an amazing cast of characters present and our two MC in particular have such fun dialogues and banter present among them. The secondary characters left me aching more. I’d love to read their stories as well!

I also really loved the presence of text and e-mails, especially when woven into the story-line so well as it was in this one. It just fits it all perfectly and adds a little ‘more’ to the reading experience.

The romance is a good slow-burn, which I normally not always find attractive and/or addictive, but within this story it was all just perfectly executed I think. There’s a good balance of development, fun, romance and steam. I truly LOVED it. It starts off with a whole lot of banter and even a bit of hostility, the characters then ignoring their attraction for one another and forming a sort of friendship from which their romance developed. It was GOOD.

I’m always a fan of reading from both pov’s which, in this case, gave me the opportunity to reaaaaally fall for our male MC. Because Goddamn… he’s something perfect alright! Do guys like him really exist, lol? I think it sometimes felt like he may be too good to be true, but I also couldn’t care less really because HELLOOOOO Chad. Whenever he entered the scene, I lost all working braincells and could only hang onto every word he said and every action he did. Sigh. I fell for him, HARD. Chad, the Grumpy neighbor is one I wouldn’t mind having living next door, interrupting me with everything I’m doing hehe.

Conclusion
This book is one I highly recommend picking up as soon as you’re able, when you’re in need of an engaging and addictive RomCom that also hasn't too much drama present, which I really think is a huge plus punt as well.

It otherwise also has basically everything present that I could've wished for; a strong, engaging and thrilling story-line, great characters, banter and steam which are woven into a beautifully developed romance. It’s fast paced and addictive and a perfect book to pick up anytime, anywhere. I cannot wait to get my hands on a printed copy when it releases, because this one is definitely going to be re-readed in the future.

I was given an ARC of this book by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for me leaving an honest review. All opinions are my own and not being influenced

Oh well, I think the bookish God has been playing tricks on me lately; my recent reads either turned out to be a huge disappointment or started promisingly but ended terribly. Wrong Text, Right Love, unfortunately, fell into the exact same category of my bookish travesty. The main reason I gravitated towards this book was because of the super intriguing synopsis, I mean, who doesn't want to meet someone who sounds handsome and funny in the texts? Besides, I've heard lots of great things about the author so I had pretty high expectations for this book accordingly.

To be honest, this story started out pretty amazingly, with unforgettably hilarious main characters, Percy and Ford, both of who bore a wicked sense of humor that totally added spice to the book. I truly enjoyed 70% of this book all thanks to the light-hearted banters between them, and the cute (but drunk) texts between Joy and Lang, and I was almost convinced that this was THE story I've been waiting for.

However, not until the last 15% or so part of the book did the story took a sudden turn and quickly rushed, I meant, seriously RUSHED, to an end. I kept flipping back to the previous chapters just to double check that I didn't miss anything crucial because things simply went too fast. In a nutshell, this book was so full of potential and it could've been one of the best books I've read this year, but it just ended too abruptly. All the slow-burnt romantic relationship between Percy and Ford, or Joy and Lang, seemed like a total waste compared to the ending coming literally out of nowhere.

All in all, Wrong Text, Right Love was enjoyable at first but it could've been wrapped up more flawlessly, in my opinion. Despite the disappointing ending, I'd still recommend this book to anyone who's looking for a fun and quick summer read. Again, I hope you'll love Percy, Ford, Joy, and Lang's story more than I do!

It all started with a drunken text... to the wrong number.

Persephone was a successful, yet broke, lifestyle and sex influencer. Her entire 'image' was based on the premise that we control and create our own happiness.

Ford was a successful, yet reclusive, programmer/inventor/entrepreneur? Due to his parents' acrimonious divorce, he grew up to have a very jaded perspective of love and relationships.

Together, these two were like oil and water. She believes in happily ever afters and soulmates. He believes in limited connections, small circles of trust, and reality. Yet, the more they're around each other, the more they're able to relate. The more time spent together, the more they start to be in sync. Suddenly, the wacky and colorful girl next door with unreasonable ideas about love is the most appealing person Ford has ever seen. And since Persy has been attracted to him from the moment she saw him, them being together should be a no-brainer.

But Persy's seriously falling for drunken text guy. The guy she's able to be herself with. The guy who seems to really see her. Who should she choose?

My only real issue with this story, why it didn't get five stars from me (because it was a really great story), is because Persy sometimes rubbed me the wrong way. She preached way too much for my liking. What works for you is all well and good, but please don't push your ideology onto someone else. Don't say that people are perfect the way they are, that we shouldn't try to change each other, while steady trying to change people. Hypocrites don't get my vote.

Wrong Text, Right Love is the summer feel good RomCom we have waited for and NEED!

Burgoa pens us a novel that takes a deep look into what love is!? Not just love in the romantic sense but love within families, friendships and most importantly the way we need to love ourselves!

Our sassy heroine is woman who is not only trying to figure all this out herself but she helps others a long the way! As she embarks on a new adventure in life she meets our sexy broody hero who isn’t trying to save anyone much less himself! He is trying trying to do what he loves in the peace and quiet of his own home! But her presence brings unwanted complications and tensions begin to run high!

These two are like oil and water but what they don’t realize is when everything has been stripped away and they are at their most vulnerable they are a perfect match! If only they could let go of everything they think they “need” and finally open up to beautiful possibilities that come with love!

This story is jam packed with hilarious dialogue, quick witted comebacks, and sibling fights that will have you rolling with laughter! Each character will leave their mark but it’s the Hero and Heroine who will steal your breath away!

“I thought you were like the Beast, but you’re Peter Pan without the green leggings,”

This quote actually explains my experience with this book BUT I don't really mind peter pan without green leggings...unless he is wearing something else in it's place... keeping it PG.

The first thing that I would like to say is totally to myself,
READ THE FREAKING DESCRIPTION!
(continue)

This book was not what I thought, not that I had time to think. I recently finished reading 'Chain of gold' and after that I haven't been feeling like reading. I don't really remember picking this book but, I have no problem with how it turned out

I am still in awe with the kind of girl Percy is. I'm still in a 50 50 with her.

Basically, it's a fast paced book but when with this fast pace, this book reached nowhere...

This book gave me major ‘You got Mail’ vibes so if that you thing you will love this book!

It’s a very sweet easy light, neighbours, enemies/friends to lovers book. It’s a good Rom-com.

I liked the characters I like the side characters, but tbh there wasn’t anything that really stood out, the characters weren’t these amazing earth shattering characters. And tbh neither was the plot line.

It really was just a super quick easy, need a feel good book. It’s a good book to cleanse the palate.

If you are looking for a fun entertaining read look no further than Wrong Text, Right Love, it’s a fun, hilarious read that will have you laughing out loud.
Percy is happy giving relationship advice to strangers but she doesn’t find it so easy when it comes to her own love life, men see her as a woman who tests “toys” for a living and that makes her interesting for one thing only....
Chad is a billionaire tech genius who values his solitude and the last thing he needs is an outgoing woman who isn’t afraid to speak her mind moving in next door.
A very colourful character and a hermit should never connect but as they say opposites attract and that’s exactly what happens as Chad and Percy get to know each other. This is a book ticked all my boxes, it’s a slow burn that also witty and at times very funny, the characters are adorable and their story is entertaining so I urge you all to one click this gem.

From the first chapter I thought *gonna love this shit* because it gives off STRONG early-2000s-romcoms vibes (my absolute obsession), but with the today's influencer/social media thing.

So, Persy (Persephone) is a relationship counsler, sexologist and relationship influencer who teaches her followers about happiness and love (and sex). And although she loves her job, it affects her greatly in her personal life; every guy wants her for fun and nothing more, nothing serious (and she wants serious). She dreams of love, marriage and a family with her dream man (whom she can't find).

Ford is the introvert next door, grumpy as hell and if he hates something more than commitment and socializing, it's influencers!
And from the first moment he meets her, like every guy else, he wants to get in her pants . But he finds himself getting in another place, something he is not used to and out of his comfort zone.. But totally worth it.

"I found my exception—you, my happiness doesn’t depend on you, but I’m happier when you are around me. You are what makes my days brighter. I live for your voice, your laughter, and your smiles... Life, the people around me, the circumstances harden me. There was an emptiness in my life. Like I couldn’t quite feel complete. Then, you happened to walk into it.. Sure, I could live the rest of my life without you. I’ve survived almost thirty-five years on my own. I just don’t want to do it."
— Ford

The book was so good, I enjoyed all of it.
I like how the MCs' characters and relationship developed and how Ford accepted and adored Persephone's quirky personality. The topics she even discussed on her podcast were actually good (or at least funny), and it was so sweet how he interrupted her each time and helped her recording. I also like their relationships with theirs families and siblings (looking forward for Nate and Nyx's book).

I LOVE how once he knew her full first name was Persephone he kept calling her that and not Persy because he liked her name while she kept calling him by the nickname he hated the most (Chad) and he never even bothered to let her know that his real name was Ford, because it didn't matter as long as it was her voice calling him :)

I was surprised by how little and subtle the spice was, almost non-existent (it could pass for a closed-door romance actually), despite the fact that the FMC is a sexologist (still, the book isn't clean because of that).

I have two comments about the plot tho: (Spoilers)

1. The coincidence that she texted his number out of all numbers is very unconvincing, it's so rare to send a text to a wrong number of someone you actually know in real life, but I'll ignore this because it also happened in Mr. Wrong Number by Lynn Painter and I ignored it back then. I like to be fair with my books.

2. I don't know how they kept anonymously texting for that long and didn't even suspect each other identities, they were close in real life and there were obvious similarities, but I'll ignore that too (just because the book was good lol)

My only comment about the writing is that the e-book edition I have, has some mistakes I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't notice like swatching names or a wrong date, probably the latest editions don't have those.

3 Podcast Stars ⭐
Spicy Level: 🌶️🌶️/5

So...apparently past me ALREADY read this...and I had to go back into the depths of my iTunes Library and find out...I DID read this... in 2020...

It was only about 30% into the book that I was sure I was crazy as I kept thinking, this sounds very familiar...I swear I have read a book about a girl whose name was Percy because her parents are obsessed with Greek Mythology, and wasn't she also a sexpert and needed to write a book on a deadline...and had a sister who refused to buy her a new phone because she wouldn't call her Ex when Percy left her phone in his car (She never gets it back btw)

Mostly the plot is forgettable...and I didn't remember the podcast part or the dating requirement, or the cat and potplants and yoga...

Percy is an influencer and therapist who is very open about talking about sex and how it is not something to be ashamed of. She was relatable in that fun way that you would connect to someone who does your favourite podcast, as she is funny, clever, and has a heart of gold. But she is tired of being seen as this party girl, and wants to settle down...and wants a man to see her for her and not some kind of freak in the sheets.

Chad(wick) was a general asshole, which I guess comes with the territory when you're a reclusive billionaire in your 30s and don't have many friends who aren't after you for money. He has some serious trust issues and it was sweet how through the friendship that blossomed with Percy how he managed to overcome that. He fell a little quickly and I didn't fully believe the transition he had from sleeping in a bed together (nothing kinky happened yet) to now LOVES HER UNCONDITIONALLY when he was a "sworn Bachelor for life"

My brain seemed to think this was more romance than it was, most of it is almost bordering on chick lit aspect as it delves quite deep into finding your happiness without the help of other people, and while this is directed at the characters in the story, the psychobabble can also be directed at the reader - so it was quite deep in that regard.

Overall a quick fluffy read. Impossible given the circumstance that out of EVERYONE she happens to text she texts her sexy next-door neighbour...Right... SUPER POSSIBLE...

▶ Multiple POV
▶ GrumpyXSunshine
▶ Billionaire Romance
▶ Enemies > Friends > Lovers
▶ THERE IS A CAT
▶ Cute Text Exchanges... so could be called an "epistolary novel" at times

This book was one of the better fun flirty rom-coms I have read in a while. I have only read a few of Claudia Burgoa’s books but I am slowly becoming a big fan. Her way of telling a story and creating unique characters is captivating. I don’t think the blurb does this story justice. It is more than flirty random text that connect these two.

Persephone Brassard (Persey)- Sex therapist, self help author, social media personality, podcaster. Persey, lives her life in the public eye. It has created all sort of issues for her. She has had difficultly surrounding herself with people that truly see her under her public persona, outside her family.

Langford Chadwick (Chad)- Chad is Persey’s grumpy neighbor, a man of mystery. He seems to not like anyone other than his Brother Nate(wick).
I loved the story of Persey and Chad. It did not go quite as I expected but I think that is why I loved it so much. The twist of the story line and the way the characters come together is unique. I loved the way this relationship develops but also how each of the characters have their own moments of self-discovery.
I really don’t want to give to much away because the twist of the story is what makes this such a good read. Be prepared for fun flirty banter. Quirky fun characters. Supporting Characters who only enhance the story. This was a 4.5/5 read for me. I would recommend you add this to your TBR Pile.

Wrong text, Right Love is Claudia Burgoa's latest fun and flirty romance that is alittle bit romcom and a lot of steamy tension that burns slowly for new neighbors- laid back Persy and the reclusive Chad, Ford or whatever he is calling himself at the moment. Let's call him mystery man..also Mr. Hot, Grumpy and Annoying!

The anticipation was killing me, watching the fuse slowing burning between them and waiting, oh so patiently for the fireworks to finally ignite..boy did they ever! The way the storylines presented themselves were fun, different and entertaining with a few little secrets tucked in here and there to add additional spicy twists to the story.

'Chad'and Persy's lifestyles seemed destined to be on a collision course- this loud, colorful, free spirited woman next door and the annoyed man who wants to keep her quiet and at arms length no matter what. It's a combo that'll keep you guessing and wondering what in the world is going to happen next!

Sometimes, someone you could never imagine being with turns out to be the only one you can see, even if you've been in denial and blinded yourself to the possibilities. As a reader, it's fun to watch the dawning of that realization while the story unfolds and reveals all of its surprises!

Claudia Burgoa has taken a break from her latest series to give us a witty, dual POV standalone with a quirky couple who needed their story told right now and I'm so glad she did. Wrong Text, Right Love turned out to be the perfect bright spot in my boring, rainy day!

I received an early copy of this book and this is my honest review after reading it.

This brilliant RomCom was another tribute to Claudia Burgoa's versatility in writing. I didn't think she could top Maybe Later, which had me in stitches half of the time and swooning over Jack Spearman the other half! Well, Langford Chadwick gives him a run for his money! The grumpy neighbor to Persephone (Persy) Brassard is a handsome devil, a tech genius, and a hermit due to people always trying to take advantage of him. His twin Nate and stepbrother Clyde are some of the few people who know his whereabouts. Clyde is married to Persy's agent, Sheila, who is one of her oldest friends.

Persy is the antithesis of everything Ford wants as a neighbor. She is a therapist and has a popular Podcast and blog where she is a Media Influencer. She gives self help, sex and dating tips. She lives life loud, colorfully, and bold. Persy and Ford slowly chip away at their preconceived impressions of each other and form an unlikely friendship. As Ford gets into her Podcasts, I was amazed at the transformation of these two! And the slow burn! Scorching!!!

Persy drunk texts her old boyfriend but mistakenly texts the wrong number. She begins a text-relationship with Mr Wrong Text and I loved the witty banter between them! This book was amazing! I loved Persy's crazy, loving family and finding out the truth about people really hurts sometimes. This book had everything!! I LOVED it!!

I wish I could rate more than just Five Stars!! And I am excited to hear we will get a book about Nate!

5 Star Review of Wrong Text, Right Love by Claudia Y Burgoa

AUDIO REVIEW:

Having read this book a while ago I was excited how it played out in audio. With a cast that includes narration by Aaron Shedlock , Brooke Bloomingdale , Jason Clarke , Pippa Jayne , Teddy Halmilton and, Virginia Rose I couldn’t wait to listen and I was not disappointed.

This is one of my favourite books from Claudia Burgoa, it ticked all the boxes for me with characters who you cannot help but fall for and I was totally invested from the first to the last word in Percy and Chad’s story.

This is a feel good story that had me smiling and laughing throughout and I was sad when it ended. Not only did I fall for Percy and Chad but the secondary characters were highly entertaining and brought an additional layer to the story.

Can opposite’s truly attract? Percy is outgoing and quirky, whilst Chad is a man who loves to keep to himself. This slow burn romance was entertaining, the only question is will they both take a leap of faith and in doing so find their forever love?

The performances by all the narrators were spot on and I loved hoe they played off one another. This was already one of my favourite books but the narration brought this to life for me.

I enjoyed this read, although, it certainly had its flaws. The concept was fun enough and I enjoyed both our main characters. However, some things just didn't feel like they matched up/didn't satisfy me. For one, that ending felt so out of character, they did the typical: confess, sex it up, move in, marriage, baby....like no??? It was so out of nowhere and while I know Ford acknowledged Persy as his "exception", it still felt like too much of a 180.

Also, earlier on it's mentioned that the only time Ford really felt something for a woman (besides horny) was some random stranger he'd see walking around when he was younger but never had the courage to talk to. That just never came up again. I was hoping it would come out that that person was Persy but nope, nothing.

I don't know, this whole book just didn't feel all that well-paced or thought out. Still fun enough though.

This review is hard to be write, but here goes. I really, really didn't enjoy this book. The characters were unlikeable and I sometimes couldn't tell them apart during their dialogues. It's is not smoothly written and felt disjointed and choppy. And I feel like the H's turnaround came out of nowhere. I love books with texting or email conversations, but this really fell flat. And the storyline with the H's friend, Sheila, was odd and out of nowhere. It's really not worth reading, I'm sad to say.
