How long had I spent wanting and pleading to die? Then, at my darkest moment... I'd found a reason for hope. A possibility for something more than what had been a fairly depressing existence thus far. So, the irony of being as close to death's door as I'd ever been was not lost on me. I suppose this was my opportunity to enjoy the closest I'd ever get to death. I was in Hell. Except hell was far different than I expected. By day the Art Deco hotel paradise featured a fantastic martini menu and my handsome psychopathic boss. By night it became a playground for a bloody hunt.
Broken House: A show like nothing you've ever seen! If 'show' was defined as a 'hunt'. Hunting of exotic creatures was fairly popular with demons because it allowed them a night to do whatever the hell they wanted with them. The best part? My brother and I were on the menu. My problems are growing bigger every day as I avoid a vengeful Momon. My boys have no idea where I am and my brother has completely checked out.
I could give in to this chaos...but I want to live. I didn't want to live in a tortuous cycle of pain anymore. I know. Shocking. What I really wanted though? My boys back. Unfortunately, there was only one man who could give me that Is my happiness worth what it would cost me? I guess we'd see. Note from Author: The Tears of the Siren series will feature characters from both the Reborn series and Descendant series. It will not be necessary to read either of those to understand the plot, however, they do intertwine in a way that enhances the universe. Don’t worry, no spoilers are present!
Broken House is the second installment of the Tears of the Siren series. This is a dark paranormal romance reverse harem romance that features multiple triggers and heavy topics such as: substance abuse, violence, post traumatic stress, and sexual assault/abuse. All characters are over the age of 18.

I didn't like this one as much as the last one, so more like 3.5, but rounded up because I still enjoyed it.
This is definitely one of the better, or more personally enjoyable new RH series I have read this year. The concept of what Lorcab is is reasonably original and I like the relationship development and how mostly diatinct the men are (although some could do with a bit more characterising).
However, I had a few issues with this, though, which I didn't have in the first one.
Firstly, one of the things I found fascinating about Lorcan was her self medication though her drug addiction and the way this affected her day to day life and relationships. It felt a bit incongruous that she would suddenly just cold turkey guve up that amount of hard core drugs with no issues. Now, I know she is a supernatural creature, so the effects of the drugs aren't so great, and she spent a month in the demon realm where she was forced to go cold turkey, but I felt that lack of showing the come down and consequences of that just trivialised her whole addiction, which I felt like was a bit of a disappointment.
I also got a bit annoyed at the last third of the book, where not a lot happens and it's just all of the guys growling. I guess I wanted a 'I am woman, hear me roar moment' from Lorcab, which I did I really get here.

I loved these books, I'm really sad the third one isn't out yet but I'll be keeping an eye out for when it does and be sure to read it. I would recommend these books to others... I don't understand how there aren't more reviews for both of these books because they're my new favorites!
Omg! After reading the first book in the Tears of A Siren series I knew that this was gonna be one of those series that I absolutely loved and the second book, Broken House, has proven that tenfold. This book was beyond fantastic with incredible details and complex characters.
I really do love Lorcan she has sass for days and won't back away from anything, plus her inner commentary is the best, at times it's hilarious. One thing for certain, I thought that the crazy came from the drug use but she's stone-cold sober and it's never been more clear that the crazy is all her. She's not by herself because all her mates are a little broken like her but also crazy as heck but in different ways. The guys really let their crazy hang out in this one but they all love, cherish and wish to protect Lorcan in this one because Lorcan really does have a good heart even though she doesn't want to show it. Their relationship ship has grown and each guy agrees he isn't walking away, no matter what comes their way.m, and Lorcan agrees that she isn't running anymore.
No second book slump here, the story just kept getting better. It somehow was darker than the first book, once again hitting all those emotional moments but had moments of light as well. Also, this book was so unique, the setting was different than anything I've come across. The story mainly took place in a demonic hotel that reminds me of the real-life murder hotel that H.H. Holmes created. Seriously Google it, that crap is unreal. Then add in the different supernaturals and their powers, how they work and interact is totally different from anything I've ever read and I love it.
Broken House was everything. It had everything from grouchy alphas to unknown stalkers, unique magic to mating marks, weird hotels to plane crashes. So much happened and that was just the tip of the iceberg, I freaking loved it but I have so many questions. Questions about the stars and Lor's power, about the plan for Broken House, and the things they have yet to face. I already have the next book and will be excitedly jumping in soon.
well that was a helluva adventure (wink, wink)! how lorcan continues to get brutally broken apart to come back stronger each time is jaw dropping. i know shes absolutely not okay per say, but she watching her kitty cats and kings taken pieces of her trauma and help heal her makes me heart so happy. she is facing big bads across realms at this point, but not necessarily knowing who they are is driving me bananas!

Broken House book 2 in the Tears of the Siren series and it picks up right where the first book ended. With Lorcan and Cormac stuck in the Broken House with no way to escape. At the mercy of Mr Black a sadistic man who uses all kinds of terrors and horrors to break the folks that ended up in his realm. Draven is a great addition to this book and i really liked him. He was a contradiction of a character. He was quiet and withdrawn at the beginning and then came out more as the book progressed by my heart genuinely went out to him. He seemed like such a loner with a lonely existence.
This book was no less action packed and the steam level was raised here too. Cormac got some great book time too in this book. Im loving this series so much. Each character and the new ones were so well written that i couldnt help but like them. Bring on the next book
Lorcan and Cormac have been ripped away from their home and taken to a place where even Lorcan's guys might now be able to save her. We also get introduced to another guy to add to her harem who I really fell in love with. Like Lorcan, he's a little broken too but in his own ways.
This book is filled with a lot of action just like the first, and Lorcan is her usual self-sacrificing self, but she will do anything to protect those she cares about even if she gives other reasons for what she's doing. The guys are trying hard to find a way to get her back and they do find a potential way to do it in the end but will Lorcan agree to it.
Cormac also got a little more love in this book too which I really enjoyed. Really can't wait to read book three.
I fell in love with M Sinclair's book when I read about Vegas so I had to go back and read the rest of her books. I love Lorcan's story so much. You can really feel how broken she and her brother are. It's going to take a lot to put them back together. The chemistry with her guys is amazing and keeps getting better each time she opens up to them a bit more. I can't wait to see where this story goes.
I fell in love with this author with the Red Masques series. I freaking loved that series and did not think she could get any better, and then she does. With the Tears of the Cosmos she has captured me with Lorcan, after all that this girl has been through she still goes on. She was wanting to give up, but now, now that she has something to live for, she is going to fight. I want to fight right along with her. Also, a warning, there are some triggers in here, a lot, so if you are sensitive to such things, please be warned.
The story picks up where Horror of your Heart leaves off. Lorcan and her twin Cormic have been kidnapped and taken to Broken House. There they cannot escape. They are being hunted and tortured every single night. Meanwhile Lorcan's guys are trying to get her back, but how can they when her soul is tied to Broken House. If they do, she dies. So while they are doing all that they can to get her back to them, we meet Draven, who is a captive as well. He does all that he can to help her. But will she be able to survive long enough for her guys to rescue her or will she give in to the pain?
There is just so much to say about this series. I don't know where to start, and I don't want to give anything away. I can say that Lorcan has had enough. In the first book, she did not want to live. Now she has something to live for. I don't know if you would consider it fast or not soon enough, but how can we gage how each of us recovers from trauma? All I know is that i am cheering her on throughout her journey. How talented of this author to create a story where the reader feels so strongly. My heart was beating fast, i was scared and heartbroken for Lorcan. I cheered her on and felt like i was fighting right along with her. The guys, Dean, Cash, Adri, Desi and Rhett. I fell more in love with them. I so long overprotective alpha males, and yeah they fit that to a T. And can i just mention Draven, wow, I fell in love with him as well.
So overall, this is a dark and difficult read, but I promise you the journey will be so worth it.
For those who have a problem with PTSD or other triggers of abuse, you may want to rethink picking this series up. But I did not have a problem with this story which I contribute to the writing skills of this author whom is fast becoming a favorite.
Book 2 finds the twins in a darker realm of Hell as they were abducted and taken to "Broken House" where Lorcan & Cormac meet a a few more characters that are thrown and attached to them. One day in the Earth Realm translates to several weeks at Broken House.
As stated previously, this is a much darker series but I felt the author handled the themes beautifully as nothing came off as excessively disturbing to me. Lorcan's character/species, required this darker side to be written for the story to flow. I did not find the darker side off-putting but that may be just me. I just couldn't put this book down and now I'm off to read book 3.
"Broken House" is one of those books that make me wonder my own sanity... I mean: it's weird to be smiling and laughing while twisted things are happening, right? The humor in this series is crazy and morally grey, and I'm loving it. The first book already showed a bit of humor, but with Lorcan being severely depressed during a big part of it, it had more sadness and hopelessness than this one. With Lorcan finding a sliver of hope and a will to live, she becomes a fun character, even though her life still isn't filled with sunshine and rainbows.
I loved the worldbuilding in this second book, the introduction of a new main character and the short look we got in Cormac's life and mind. Every chapter I read, I fell more in love with all these characters. I refuse to pick favorites; they are all amazing in their own way.
Great series so far, and I'm looking forward to seeing what will come next for these characters.

I am in Hell. Literally. I’m in the demonic realm and those on Earth call this place Hell. If only they knew. My brother and I were kidnapped and we are trapped in this place called the Broken Hotel. Time passes differently down here, it feels like it’s been a month but back on earth it’s probably only been a day or so. My men are safe and coming for us, I know it, I just hope they get here soon.
The Broken Hotel is ran by this man named Mr. Black. He leaves us alone for the most part, and even when he does focus on us, a man named Drevon manages to divert his attention. Drevon protects us, I’m not sure why but he seems fascinated with me. I wonder if it’s just my magic, but I’ve found that compulsion doesn’t work on him.
The day isn’t bad. My brother and I are left to our devices and we spend most of that time drinking and smoking. It doesn’t affect us, it just gives us something to do with our hands. At night though… night is a problem. Demons show up to torture us. To maim us. To hurt us. My brother and I try to use our powers to make them leave us alone but when that doesn’t work we hide. Things are changing down here though and I have a feeling it’s only about to get worse.
Review:
I loved that the book picked up where the first left off and threw you back into the action. It gets us up to speed on where the twins have been for the past “month” and what they have been going through. Twisted things doesn’t even begin to describe it but for what amounts to Hell, what would you expect?
We are introduced to a new mate in this book and it brings our total up to six. I hope we don’t get anymore because there’s a difference between having a Harem and having …. A football team. It’s getting to be too much but luckily he brings us something we didn’t have. I thought Adriel was out morally grey love but he has nothing on Drevon. Drevon has moved into the number one position in my eyes, especially when you consider the way he is with her. It gives “hate everyone but you” vibes, but done in a good way. He wants to protect her and we get to see the way their bond naturally forms.
In the first book we get to see Lorcan deal with PTSD and attempt to heal after suffering abuse at the hands of an ex lover. She was doing better and had slowish progress which came across realistic and well written. I was concerned that she would just suddenly be fully over it and while there were moments that it felt like she should be dealing with a panic attack yet didn’t, we did get to see some lingering affects. I hope the author continues to show progressing growth over the series and doesn’t just randomly “cure” her.
My only complaint with this book is Lorcan’s internal “siren” is cheesy and irritating. The siren is written as this other being living inside Lorcan’s magic that drives that side of her. I think it’s meant to rival how shifters are portrayed as having an internal animal, but it comes across feeling contrived. It reminds me of the “internal goddess” from fifty shades of grey. I was waiting on a similar scene to be written with this chick on a chaise reading a book and raising her eyebrows at Lorcan. I feel like I rolled my eyes every time she was mentioned on the page. The only times I liked this internal character was when she rose to the surface and “took over” Lorcan’s body. It felt like an accurate representation of Shifter Animals behavior but these moments were few and far between.
Overall a good follow up and I still plan on continuing the series.
Oh god, where do I even start? Broken house starts off with Lorcan's guys trying to find her when she got kidnapped by Momon. This book, of course, contained dark elements. In addition to this, Lorcan got a new guy to add to her harem- Draven whose a fallen angel.
This book had so many sweet moments and I had more than half of this book highlighted.
“Who am I to you, Lorcan?” Dean asked, his breath suspending.
My eyes met his as I sat up and took his jaw in my hands. The two of us were nose to nose so I didn’t have to speak loudly, but I first considered his question.
What was Dean? Dean was it. He was the man I’d been in love with since I was six and following him around because he was more fun than any of the girls I knew. The same man who I never thought could feel the same in return.
“You’re the king to my queen.”
Then he did something that caught my breath in my throat. Something that made me melt at the same time as I fought the urge to tell him to stop.
The man knelt.
He pressed his head into my stomach as those arms wrapped around my waist as he rested on his knees. I tangled my hand in his hair as he tilted his face up.
“Please forgive me?” His words were almost inaudible and immense guilt shone up at me through his richly colored eyes.
If I had to add more parts that I highlighted, you won't even need to buy the book. Like the last book, Broken House also ends in a cliffhanger; but not so intense as the last.
M. Sinclair, this was an amazing follow up in Tears of the Cosmos series. I am a little stunned at the moment writing this review to try and get my thoughts together. Fair warning: if you have triggers, then this book is not for you. It is dark and emotionally deep.
This story begins exactly where it left off and the intensity builds throughout. I was sitting on the edge of my seat, and wishing I was there in the story to help Lorcan out. When you can read a book and feel your heart beating out loud and wanting to become some amazing supernatural so you can help the character out, then the book is freaking amazing. The journey that Lorcan endures in this book is dark and intense. You ask your self is she strong enough to get out of this? Will she be rescued or still be alive? Will there be anyone who can help her bring the light back into her eyes. So much darkness, sadness and action.
The chemistry she has with the guys is strong and steamy. These guys will set you a blaze with all heat they give. I loved every word of this book. M. Sinclair, you have outdone yourself. Such a great continuation of the story.
**THIS IS AN ADVANCED READER COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW. ALSO, PURCHASED THIS BOOK.**
“You’re only a prisoner if you let yourself be one.”
This second instalment of Lorcan’s story brought another load of pain, abuse and torment for both Lorcan and Cormac. During the first book, Lorcan finally accepted her guys and understood that they weren’t affected by her powers, and she genuinely seemed to understand that they loved her. However, at the start of this book she’s separated from her guys once again and only has Cormac to rely on during Broken House, until she meets Draven. This book was an amazing addition to Lorcan’s story and I can’t wait to find out where her story is going to go next. Is she going to go back and destroy the Broken House? There were so many cute moments in this book that kind of balanced out the pain and abuse (in my opinion at least)! Lorcan and her guys get to further cement their bond in this book through lots of different ways, as well as Cormac getting a surprise of his own. You even get to see their adoptive parents, and even our second favourite jinn showed up again! I loved some of the new characters, and I think that it was really interesting to bring angels into this series too. Highly recommend and I can’t wait for the next instalment. Another amazing series by M. Sinclair.
Broken House is the second installment in the Tears of the Siren series by M. Sinclair. The continuation of Lorcan’s story is raw, gritty, and emotional. Just when she has managed to find some happiness, her entire world is turned upside down when she and her brother, Cormac, are abducted. They are taken to a dark part of Hell where time passes differently than the Earth realm. I was definitely on the edge of my seat the entire book and devoured every chapter! So much happens in this book that I may need to re-read it right away!
This is a slower burn romance but it’s obvious that Lorcan’s harem of men are 100% devoted to her. They want to protect her, care for her, and posses her. I loved that Lorcan had such great chemistry with each of her men. Their individual connections definitely gave Lorcan a piece of healing. I also loved reading about the strong relationship that she has with her twin brother. There are so many unanswered questions and I’m excited to read more books in the series. I’m so relieved the third book is already released because I am diving into it right away!
Tropes: Dark paranormal romance, reverse harem, demons, hell, famous heroine Heat: Minimal TW: Check author’s warnings
Sinclair has done it again with the second book in her Tears of the Siren series. Broken House is a fabulous continuation that will take you on a darker, pain filled ride to literally hell and back.
Just when Lorcan was finally finding happiness, and a reason to actually live rather than yearn for death, things escalated quickly with an abduction that left Lorcan and Cormac in a dark realm of Hell—and man is it a crazy ride! Time travels differently, old characters return and new characters make an appearance.
This is a story of broken souls being slowly put back together and so much emotional and character growth that it’s absolutely amazing! I love the chemistry and connection between Lorcan, Dean, Rhett, Cash, Desmond, and Adriel and can’t wait for more!!!
Sinclair did an amazing job of weaving such a dark painful tale and capturing all the emotional turmoil and trauma that these phenomena characters endured all while staying true to the story. Overall this is a definite must read of amy dark paranormal fans! Just remember to closely check your triggers before reading!
Wow...just wow! The emotional depth and range that M. Sinclair showcases in this story is unreal. I went through the emotional wringer with this story, but it was beautiful, heartbreaking and hopeful at the same time. I felt everything that Lorcan and her men felt, so in tune with the struggles, vulnerabilities and love that flowed so effortlessly from the pages.
This story is definitely not for the faint of heart and trigger warning should be headed, but M. Sinclair describes the struggles and pain with such raw realness. Despite the paranormal aspects, M. Sinclair is so authentic in her storytelling of Lorcan, and others, trauma. It’s truly outstanding and beautifully done.
There is just so much to love about this group of characters. While things may not be easy for them past, present, or future they are hopeful for a happy future together. They love one another and care for one another unconditionally.
I am beyond excited and hopeful to see where this story goes!
Sooooo okay I really was enjoying the storyline. The MC is not perfect and as a celebrity we get to see that her life is also not perfect. However I really appreciated how raw the story was and how the story was navigating these different issues. I wanted to learn more about the guys, Lorcan and see their relationship develop. HOWEVER when I got to the third book I read on the authors note that there would be a m/m relationship. So yeah I didn’t know about that and I thought I checked beforehand. I don’t know how that is even going to work on the story so I’ll be stopping here.
Kinda bummed out that I won’t continue with the story cause I was really enjoying it. But if that’s something you like then I’ll recommend you read it cause so far so good.
Lorcan, a modeling and music sensation, had slowly started to find happiness with her five men, Dean, Rhett, Cash, Desmond, and Adriel toward the end of Horror of Your Heart then reality snatched it away from her at the last minute. As the story progresses the horrors continue, she adds to her retinue, and as she settles back into the earth realm things happen to change her view. M. Sinclair added sprinkles of light to counter the darkness in Broken House. Thankfully Lorcan and Cormac have always been able to rely on each other or they may not have survived their time in the demon realm. Reader discretion advised due to dark subject matter and/or possible triggers.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
This installment was better. I now think the lack of clarity in the first one was, in fact, intentional to portray the heroine's state of mind. I will say that this author needs a new editor. I love independent romance writers and can understand the occasional error, but anything that would show on a simple spelling/grammar check should be corrected prior to publishing. I don't need it to be perfect (I've gotten used to this common issue), but I don't want to have to try to figure out what the author was trying to say, had they edited properly.
I really like the guys and I like Lorcan a lot better in this one. I want to see what happens next.
This series just gets better and better!! I loved it. I really feel for Lorcan and all of the events that happen to her and things just keep happening, it seems never ending. This girl needs a break!!!! There is so much that happens in this book. From the school to dealing with the unknown. Lorcan handles everything way better that I would!! She is so strong and her guys help build her up and not try and stop her from doing anything. The flashbacks are a great help in showing Lorcan when she was growing up and how she met each guy. It also shows the feelings involved with her guys when they met her. I hope that we get to see more of everyone in her next book or book series!
Here we are on Book 2, which is naturally where a series droops a little. It's kinda like your Great Aunt Cheryl. You love her, but when her unrestrained fat bags start swinging at you, you back away or try to avoid eye contact.
NOT THIS TIME, CHERYL!
This series keeps getting better and better. I was not expecting Draven, but he has become a fast favorite. Each male character has their own style and personality. They are addicting!
It is so easy to get wrapped up in Lorcan's world. She is simply amazing. As someone with PTSD, these triggers and flashbacks are spot on. It can make you question EVERYTHING, and time has no meaning.
I enjoyed the first in this series, but I liked this one even more.
Lorcan will always put herself in the line of fire to protect those she cares about, and there, at Broken House with Cormac, was no different. Broken House is a genuinely awful, twisted place.
The guys spent all their time trying to find their way to Lorcan, to bring her home safely, but this is not an easy place to get to or to leave. They have to tread carefully, which is not a simple task when the one they love is in danger.
I can't wait to read the next book. Everything seemed so calm at the end, so you just know it won't stay that way for long.
When I say I hate reading about abuse and rape I really do it absolutely disgusts me and I wish people would stop putting it in fantasy/ romance books.
I like that Lorcan is healing but man this poor girl…also didn’t nova and her crew end up at broken house at some point and didn’t she run into lorcan??? I’m so confused.
Anywho it is interesting seeing how all these girls are connected Maize , Lorcan, Nova, Maya, Gray and Vegas. I wonder who else is apart of this universe as Sinclair has more books like this but maybe they are in a separate universe ??
I will find out soon enough all in all a good book.

Loved it!!! A little dark, but no graphic details.
I absolutely loved this book. It does get a little dark in the first half of the book, but it doesn't go into graphic detail. I read the first book last Year, but I put this one off for so long because I was a little scared of how dark it would get. But I finally put my big girl panties on and I regret waiting so long to read it. It takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride, but the love and support her guys show her makes it all the better. And Cormac! 😲🙉👨❤️👨👩❤️👩😉
Wow what a great second book to a series! I was completely drawn into the story and couldn't but it down. I love Lorcan! I love how strong she is. I love that even though she is starting to see how her trauma is affecting her that she doesn't just completely get over it right away, that we see a true struggle. I love the relationship she has with her brother. I love the connection she has to her men. There are still many more things that need to be answered and I can't wait to read book three!
