Cassie thought she’d escaped the psychic abilities that had haunted her all her life. After two years of vision-free bliss living on her small farm outside the tiny town of Napping, Cassie’s only worry is her secret crush on the hot local sheriff, Ty.

But her quiet, anonymous life is destroyed when murder rocks the sleepy town and Cassie’s visions thrust her into the middle of the grisly mystery. Reluctantly drawn into her own search for the killer, Cassie begins to unearth the town’s tangled secrets with the dubious help of Napping’s quirky residents…and the sheriff, whose mere presence is enough to make her blood heat.

As she gets closer to the truth, her relationship with the sheriff intensifies, and Cassie struggles to hide her psychic talent, fearing that discovery of her unusual gift will drive him away—and destroy her last chance at happiness.

Reviewed after a re read.

And again, another enjoyable read by Katie Allen.

Cassie recently moved to the small town of Napping, where she thought she had managed to escape from her psychic visions.

Ty is the local sherrif, who had been nursing a crush on Cassie ever since she had moved to town.

When Cassie suffers a new vision on the side of the road, and the sheriff is informed she had been acting strange, he finds her to make sure she is ok, and the attraction they both have felt for each other cannot be denied any longer.

I love when you get a hot sexy man, who is a bit bossy, grumpy, yet oddly shy and vulnerable and Ty is the perfect mix of that.

Cassie, I love too, and her trying to work out what the vision means, save the person it is about, while not letting on that she is psychic, so she is not again hounded out of a home made for some fun.

Cassie and Ty had some great banter and were a lovely couple together.

"You're still in a hell of a lot of trouble."
The threatening rumble made Cassie smile. "I know. I will take my punishment like a man."
Ty pulled back a little so he cold raise an eyebrow at her grinning face. "Saying it like that makes me a little uncomfortable"

The town of Napping and all the residents made for a fun and enjoyable read.

Great banter, an interesting plot and likeable characters make for a fun read that I do not have to think to hard about. A great light 5 star read.

4.5 stars for another terrific book by Katie Allen! I am loving her sweet stories! This is an easy read that will leave you happy.

I totally love this hero and heroine. They were both great. This is a super sexy read. A lot of sex and it is hot! I hate to mark this a paranormal, because her visions are not a huge part of the book. Yes, the fact that she had them and the subject of them is, but not her having them. She had a total of two. Please do not let this aspect put you off the book.

I love the contradiction of the hero. Alpha male, but kind of shy. He actually blushes! But you would not think him weak, at all. He "mooned" over her for two years. (Actually I marked it down a little because of him not going after what he wanted.) But I love how they are together. There was a minor relationship drama. I was a little mad at him, but I understood why he reacted poorly, but he apologized so I had to forgive him. There is some mystery to add a little to the story.

There are zero triggers, totally safe. Not a manwhore, no OW/OM at all, and no doscusion about it other than it had been a long time. I am very confident that he had no one during his two years of mooning over her.

I totally enjoyed reading this, even reading through dinner. It was nice to be able to just enjoy without any stress. Sometimes I just need a low key read that is not boring and chaste!

I really liked this short, sweet read. Ty and Cassie were very sweet together and they had some great steamy times too. Their relationship moved quickly but they had their eyes on each other for 2 years. It had been years since Cassie was with a man. We didn't get a timeline for Ty, but from everything he and the townspeople said he hadn't been with anyone since laying eyes on Cassie. I really appreciated that he cared about his reputation as a small town sheriff and didn't sleep around and act like a manwhore. The suspense portion of the book was good too.

Love it!!! I'm so glad I'm out of my unlucky phase, the couple of last read books simply weren't my cup of tea but this one for sure is.

The story starts with Cassie moving to this tiny town of Napping, where she's starting over by living on a small farm with her two horses. Now, Cassie isn't just some ordinary human, no, she has psychic abilities. She get's visions of peoples deaths. After the two year vision drought, Cassie thinks she can finally start living a normal life but unfortunately for her vision-free life comes to an end. She 'sees' someones murder and of course tries to prevent it from happening. And that's how Cassie and the sexy sheriff Ty's story begins.

I liked all the characters, even the evil ones. Also, it had humor, romance, a bit of angst, action and the mystery of who commited the murder.

A great read, recommend. :)

3.25-3.50 RATING- I think this authors writing is very readable and this is the second book I've read by her that I've enjoyed. This one was pretty heavy on the sex instead of story but that wasn't an issue. I wasn't looking for anything plot heavy, just a quick, guilty pleasure read. This fit the bill just fine.

Started reading not knowing that Katie Allen is the "fabulously filthy-minded alter-ego of romantic-suspense author Katie Ruggle" and then I understood everything.
I loved her Search & Rescue Series and this story and characters reminded me a lot of that.

Cassie and Tyler pinning for each other and the mystery of who was the killer made me devour this story in record time.
Also Cassie and her visions were a nice supernatural touch.

2 1/2 Stars ~ While I enjoyed the mystery plot and I thought the characters were engaging, there seemed to be something lacking in this story. The sex scenes were very well written, though some were rather repetitive and not really moving the story along. Sometimes more is just more. Ms. Allen has a lovely writing voice and I really liked Cassie and Ty whose chemistry did smolder off the pages.

Loved the alpha hero - and the slightly unusual goody small town. Also nice to see an "old school" psychic. I need to read more Katie Allen books again. :)

Straight from Ms. Allen's 'Marriage Lessons' (which I loved) to this story. Not at all disappointed. Ty a confident man but shy when acting upon his attraction to Cassie. Cassie's admired Ty from afar but once they crossed that threshold the heat of story blasted! The other small town characters were funny and their involvement in Ty and Cassie's relationship added nicely to the story. Bit of suspense as well.

Next book all lined up waiting for me, Baking Lessons by Katie Allen.

Cheers

Way too much sex and too little of a storyline. Couldn't connect with the characters. Also, the suspense was comical.

I went looking at some of Katie Allen's other works and "Seeing Blind" looked good. It seems to be a standalone with no sequels planned from what I can see.

Cassie has settled in a small country town desperate for a normal life. Except she isn't quite normal herself. Her visions give an elusive clue to coming events. Can she change the course of a crime? Does she really want to get involved? I liked the mystery, Cassie can't help but try and change the outcome of her violent vision she has right at the start of the book. But she is relatively new to town and people get a little suspicious when she starts asking questions.

Ty was the smouldering local sheriff who has been eyeing Cassie for a while. In the end she asks him out, and she iniatates the first kiss. Which is a nice change from the guy always making the first move. These two were hot together, no doubt. Ketie Allen can write a smouldering sex scene. "Seeing Blind" is completely from Cassie's point of view. Which was disappointing, because at times Ty seemed kind of remote. You do wonder if the sex is going to turn into more of a relationship. These two certainly don't 'date' in a traditional sense.

I liked did enjoy this book. I just wish Katie Allen had given me a little peak into some of the other characters view points along the way.

As money and time permits, I've been slowly been making my way through Katie Allen's backlist. The plots themselves have been very interesting so I keep waiting to read that one book where everything else snaps into place. It hasn't happened yet.

I was disappointed by this book. It was short, just 100 or so pages, and I felt that Allen could have done a lot more with this. I did like that the hero was somewhat of a dork. Despite his job as sheriff, he definitely wasn't alpha and was endearingly awkward with the heroine. I also liked the fact that the heroine wasn't particularly enamored of her psychic abilities and didn't exactly want to go off & save the world. It was very different from the standard psychic romantic suspense. The mystery was somewhat predictably and I had the Big Bad on my shortlist for the killer.

I dunno, I just felt like there were a lot of opportunities for Allen to make this amazing. I think Allen needs to hook up with a beta or critique partner who will really push her, especially if Allen ever wants to go mainstream. Right now, the rough is really obscuring the diamond.

H is cop, and he's loved the h for 2 years. She lives quietly for a reason, she has visions and believes a woman will die soon. They hook up, very steamy scenes but the issue is of course, can she trust him? The h is independent and he dithered before he finally reveals how much he cares about her. I liked it, but she was the hero not him.

Good enough plot. Lot of gratuitous sex. Fun supporting characters. Light read. Mystery wasn't too surprising, but not so much that you think the characters are complete idiots.

I like her books as Katie Ruggle. Will probably read more of the Katie Allen books if need a mindless read.

Good

I wish there was more story. It was all sex, when the story and characters were interesting and could’ve been expanded upon. We never really hear about her past, and that could’ve been really interesting (sorry, that word again). Her visions barely made an appearance in the story. This story had lots of potential and was fine.
