This a book about a subject that most people would rather ignore, service men and women, coming back from active duty with PTSD. They are being to “man up” and live with it. Some do some are so messed up that they will do anything to cope with it and make it stop.
In this story Dylan is just back from active duty, but no-one took the time to help him become acclimated to civilian life.
Leah, has been used and abused by the system, and is now living in her car, under the underpass. She makes ends meet by singing in the bar. Dylan hears her sing one night and her singing soothes his demons so he can function and sleep. With Dylan ,Leah feels safe and protected.
They help each other and fall in love. They each enjoy the life they have and live it to the fullest.
I got this book as an ARC.
