Jesus in Me Bible Study Guide: Experiencing the Holy Spirit as a Constant Companion

by Anne Graham Lotz

The notion that Jesus can literally be inside of us should startle us with the extent of the intimacy we can have with Jesus, and astonish us with the depth of connection he offers.

And it's all possible because of the Holy Spirit.

In Jesus In Me, revered evangelist and Bible teacher Anne Graham Lotz guides us to a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit, who is Jesus without skin.

In this practical study that is a true Bible study, Anne starts with a workshop on how to get to know the Holy Spirit by listening to him when we're studying the Bible. Then, we apply the skills of asking and listening as we work through five Bible studies per week on selected Scriptures about the Holy Spirit.

Through eight sessions, we will discover why the Holy Spirit is not an optional extra in the Christian life.

We can have a relationship with this living, thinking, feeling Person, who is our comforter, counselor, friend.  We can enjoy his constant Presence, inside us, filling us.   We can receive and experience his Power.   We can live a life of Purpose, directed by his guidance.  We can understand the Precepts in the Bible by hearing directly from the One who breathed it.   We will be convicted of our sin by his Purity.  Discover how you can better love and rely on the Holy Spirit—and embrace how much He loves you.

I read this guide as part of an online bible study. I had not been able to find time to study the bible daily as I once did. I had hoped this study would help me to get back on track. The video, online discussions and other support helped me to incorporate other perspectives into my study and was a big support. I enjoyed the study. Learning the purpose, power, priority, purity and person of the Holy Spirit was really informative. I feel that those seeking a closer relationship with the Holy Spirit like me will benefit greatly from studying this guide.

This was a challenging study, but in the best way. Anne gives you step by step instructions on how to read the scripture, break it down, pull lessons from it and then apply it to your life. It forces you to examine your life and whether you are truly working towards living like Christ and recognizing the Holy Spirit's presence and the Holy Spirit within you. I participated through my church's womens study and I would suggest doing the same to be able to have the discussion time together and watch the corresponding videos together.

Really enjoyed the actual book and this study guide. We started it as a Bible study until the majority dropped off - the format was too difficult for the newer Christians and those who were not wanting the depth it led to. We continued as a very small group every other week because we started a new / replacement Bible Study for the rest.

“Jesus in Me” is a powerful study that will help you understand the Holy Spirit IN you. You will learn how to walk in constant companionship with Jesus, develop habits that will transform your life, and grasp hold of your purpose in this world! A must do!

This Bible study and the accompanying videos were wonderful! It was a deep and “meaty” study, but it still felt very approachable. Specifically focusing on The Holy Spirit was new for me and something I plan to continue. I am going to follow up by reading the book this study was based on.

Excellent Bible study on the Holy Spirit. This is the workbook that goes with the video series led by Anne. She has a published a regular book by the same title that I plan to read at some point.

The verses were hard to connect with the message and didn't make sense to connect a lot of the time. But the messages were powerful (when watched along with doing the readings).

I completed the workbook, not the book.

I took me awhile to catch on to the way Anne studies...I think I've got it :/

I was disappointed in this workbook compared to the dvd and book. The majority of this workbook are pages where you can do map versing. Not like other book studies/workbooks. Wasn’t for me.

Jesus in Me was such a great Bible study! We completed this one as a small group at church, and I really loved the experience of going through it together.

This study does a wonderful job of helping you slow down, break down Scripture verse by verse, really dig into what God’s Word is saying, and then think about how you can apply it to your own life. I especially loved getting to hear everyone’s different takeaways and perspectives on what each verse meant to them. There’s something really special about studying God’s Word alongside other people and seeing how He speaks to each person in different ways.

Anne Graham Lotz did a wonderful job with this study. It gave us plenty to reflect on, discuss, and take with us beyond the group.

Definitely a study I’m glad I went through! 💕📖
