Unfortunately, I am of several minds about this book. Aspects of it are absolutely wonderful, but one thing just annoyed the heck out of me, which keeps me from giving it the highest rating. I have read a number of books on empaths, and the bulk of this book is actually one of the better ones that I've seen. The sections that contain the 50 tips are very helpful and actionable on a wide range of topics that could be helpful to empaths, even giving journal prompts so you can explore your thoughts and feelings on the particular tip. This is where the book shines. What I didn't like is that I felt like the author led me to believe she would deliver something within the book that she did not. A look at the ToC shows there to be a section on crystals and empaths. I've always adored working with crystals, so this immediately interested me. This information, however, was not a part of the main book. Nope. After a few sentences of description, you're given a link to download it—asking for your email address, of course, so you can get it. I read enough contemporary nonfiction books to know and understand the concept of a lead magnet, but you shouldn't list it on your contents page as if it were a part of the book. That sets up false expectations which, of course, are not fulfilled. Other than leading me to believe the book had something that it did not, I thought the rest of it was excellently done. I would have given this a full five stars if not for the misleading entry into the table of contents.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
