Reckless Romance #1

Reckless Romance

He leans towards me and whispers, “It’s been nice knowing you, Violet. Maybe in another life, things will be simple. Where we wouldn’t have to end this way.”

My eyes dart to his hand on the remote and see him close his eyes.

“I’m sorry. But I can’t let you do this.” I say and pull the trigger.

When I first saw him, I hadn’t paid much attention.

Sure, he was cute and my heart skipped a beat every time he smiled at me. His mesmerizing brown eyes held me at their mercy. I could look into their depth for the rest of my life. Our connection was more than a chance encounter. It was fate.

Forever and always.

I wanted that with him, my days and nights, laughter and tears in his arms. But I should have known better. People like me don’t get happy endings.

So I left. I would always be the one to leave.

But not before I made a terrible mistake. One that would cost us both our lives.

I fell in love with him. And he loved me right back.

Jannat has a soft spot for myths and legends, especially when they’re woven with romance and irresistible chemistry. She adores reading about sexy heroes, sassy heroines, and love stories that refuse to play by the rules.

Away from the page, you’ll likely find her daydreaming or snuggled up with her cat Sasha, whom she loves more than words can say.

Want romance and an action packed book in one? This book is definitely for you!

I started reading this book thinking it was gonna be a student teacher romance but woah I did not expect any of the twists Bhat three into the book. This book isn’t my normal read and not what I’m usually into but Bhat’s writing was awesome! The story was a really fast paced story and got to the point while also keeping you guessing at every turn.

The story is about this girl Violet who is just living her life, traveling, going to school, the normal things college aged kids do. In Paris she stumbles into a man who she shares an entire day with but remaining complete strangers. When she comes back to school and realizes he’s her professor, things start to take a turn. I don’t want to say more and give anything away!!!

This book was a very interesting read and if you’re into a really action packed book, this romance is perfect for you!! I really enjoyed the writing but just wish the characters and plot can have been a bit more developed. I felt that the chemistry between the characters was a little lacking and could have been a little deeper. Otherwise, the plot lines were great and the twists were also very well thought out.

Okay! I finally have the time to sit down and write this! I was also waiting until my physical copy of it came in. Woo! Here we go.

Let's talk about the physical copy of the book~
It was nice. A pretty typical paper back, pretty cover, etc. But the formatting of the first couple of pages was all over the place. It was also a bit funky in the E-book version i read but i figured that that was because it was an e-book. So to say I was disappointed that the physical copy was also funky is a bit of an understatement. I hope it's something the author can look into and fix - it was jarring.

The story itself was fun. I thoroughly enjoyed it, though I do admit that the begin was just a tiny bit slow. But honestly 90% of all the other books I read also start out a bit slow so it didn't bother me. As I got further and further into it though I definitely enjoyed it more and more. I was rooting for the romance and enjoyed the action and drama. The only thing for me is that the protagonist, Violet, seemed to me younger than she was. I'm not sure what age she was supposed to be but based on the setting she was a college girl. So, definitely an adult, but the whole time I felt like she was in high school so that brief teacher thing that happened at the beginning of the story was a little creepy and i couldn't shake that feeling the whole rest of the book. Even though I KNEW that she wasn't any kind of minor! So that was a little kink in my wrench but once I kind of... was able to ignore that feeling it was good. There was a part later on in the book

So the reason this book only gets 4 stars instead of the usual 5 I give to books that make me cry, laugh, etc., out loud, is because of the tenses. It drove me nuts. The tenses switched back and forth constantly and it was just really really distracting. There was also several typos that popped up and whatnot but the biggest thing for me was the tense issue. Like, it was kind of sad that it was harder for me to enjoy the book due to the shifts. I don't know.

But yeah! so 4 out of 5 stars, I loved the story and the characters.

I start this review by saying that this book is not my kind of book but for the ones that love the genre romance I recommend it :)

3.5/5 - Cute and easy to listen to! I grabbed this one from Kindle Unlimited and I enjoyed the story. Especially considering there was a twist I didn’t expect at all once I started reading?! It's sort of a hidden spy element that wasn’t very well talked about in the synopsis but made for a fun read. (I don’t want to spoil it, so I’ll leave it there.)

It is a college-age romance but also has some high-school elements: Professor (young) & college-student romance.

This was really good. The storyline wasn't what I expected going in. It was so much better, honestly. It had some plot twists I did not see coming, the main one though I kind of figured. 🤣👏 I've been known to read between the lines.

Overall, I liked it.
