This is not a book I will ever “finish,” as defined by Goodreads. It is my go-to literary “sacred text” of the Romantic period of the mid-18th to mid-19th centuries. Noyes’ introductory essay on English Romanticism is a stand-alone must-read. Poets featured include Wordsworth, Coleridge, Lord Byron, Keats, Shelley, Burns, and so many more.
