A crappy book written by an entitled brat who had to tell you her whole stupid self indulgent story before saying

Diet counts. Duh.

This book is an incredibly inspiring story of Raelan's recovery that's filled with tons of practical tips to help recover from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). I've been struggling with this illness the last four years and reading this book was one of the catalysts that propelled me to take actions that are really making a difference now in my recovery. Alongside the book Decode Your Fatigue, I think these two books are mandatory reading for anyone recovering from CFS or with a loved one doing so.

I really appreciate this book. Having long covid, I can relate to Raelan's personal story of having CFS. I found her advice on healing to be very wise and practical. I hope I can incorporate some of her strategies into my own healing path.
I do have one nagging question about how to define recovery. Is recovery finding a 'new normal' or is it regaining all the capabilities that the chronic illness stripped away? I don't necessarily want to pick back up all of the responsibilities that I handled before I had long covid, but unless I feel capable of juggling those things as I did before - if I choose to again - I don't believe I will feel I've recovered. I had seemingly endless energy before; I could keep a lot of balls in the air; and I enjoyed doing so many things. Now I have to drastically limit what I do and what's on my radar because I don't have the energy, stamina, or brain power that I had before. Everything I do now - the simplest of tasks - is a chore that uses up the limited energy I now have, so I have to pace myself carefully. I have come a long way in three years, but I am not recovered yet. It is difficult to know if full recovery, as I would define it, is even possible, because it's not clear how covid has damaged the body's systems and what treatment would heal that damage. This lack of clarity makes it challenging to know what interventions to try. Having said that, I am grateful for the ideas presented in this book and I will keep them in mind as I go forward. I will continue to watch Raelan's YouTube videos to see what other people have found helpful as well. Thank you for your work, Raelan!
