He threatened my guard and my brother. My need to enact revenge for the brutal massacre of my parents is all-encompassing. If he wants war, a war he will receive.
First order of business... returning to a land and home that I haven't seen in years. Will everything have changed? Will the politics of court allow for my shift in policy? Should I enact the Always Punch First rule? Why the hell are there carriages?
My secrets have been laid all out in the open for inspection, but returning home means that my guard are subjected to the same light. Not only do we have to deal with court politics, but family politics as well. Can I even hide my relationship long enough to convince the light fae to stay allies with us?
Will I even make it the coronation? Or will our merry band of lunatics have problems before I can even touch the throne?
The only question I don't have? How I will kill the dark fae king.
*** It is not necessary but adds to the experience if you read the Red Masque series as well. Characters from both series will be brought together, however, adequate descriptions for what is occurring plot-wise will be explained throughout during any crossover.***

Just remember to love cats... that's not negotiable.
Lunatics is the second installment in the Vengeance series. There's one good thing about this book - it's very easy to devour. Other than that, not a whole lot happens in these books. Or at least in this book. Some things were kind of interesting and I really enjoyed Gray being Queen and such. Yet, at the back of my mind, I'm just wondering why this couldn't be a standalone or a duology.
Maybe it's me?
There's also the looming threat of war to potentially happen. It was kind of leading up to a lackluster event for me. I just honestly didn't see the entire point of it all. Plus the enemy was just kind of over-predictable. Which definitely made things a lot more boring in my eyes but, again, it was a short book so what can I really be mad about?
In the end, I guess I'll just sit back and wait to see how it all ends.
3.5 Stars It didn't feel like much happened in this book aside from one small fight and Gray claiming her Kingdom. The books are so short I really think they should have been combined because this end came very abruptly. Gray jumps into her role as Queen as if she never left. Her brother has no qualms stepping away and she has opportunities to show the people of her Kingdom why and how she is the one true heir. She knows war is probably on the horizon and her enemy is already at work sending assassins and such to take her out. Her men and her are no match for the lackey's he sends and I'm curious what the next book will entail as I imagine at this rate the big showdown won't be until the final book. I mean it's not been a bad read at all, I just think they needed to all be combined into one novel rather than these small bits with limited action and development.
It is official, this series is my newest obsession. I finished book 1 this morning, it is now the evening of the same day lol. Off I go to download the next book.
Lunatics is the second installment into the Vengeance series by M. Sinclair.
This book picked up the slack from the last one. Expanded on the world building, filling in the vacuum left in the absence of detailed knowledge regarding not only the species but the forefront characters as well.
The writing? Improved from the last book. I suppose it was a creative technique pinpointing Gray’s emotional state before the men arrived and introduced the healing balm that is their presence? The words flowed easier. The story benefitted, smoothing seamlessly with the change.
The plot? Yay! Coronation time! Gray has invited Mario, Dark Fae King, to basically surrender himself and save his people from the ravages of war. He of course, being the duplicitous cretin he is, declined. Oh, and it’s officially stated in Gray’s presence that she has a mate(s), although she’s confused on the concept as of yet.
The Harem? A deeper delving into the twins mainly. We learn the defining reason behind their so contrasting personalities, due to Neo’s growing up with their father while Athens was raised by their mother. Safe to say, we’re all awaiting his death. As well, some further insight into Taylor. In regards at least towards his family. Lovely Palo and his, hopefully, eventual pairing with Marabella. (Two of my new favorite characters).
Having already read Lost in Fae I know the answer to one question, but I can’t wait to learn more in regards to Vegas’ origin. And her relation to Gray? Unanswered questions spiraling over her powers.
I reveled in the one fight scene in this book. All of the brain melting, ashing, neck snapping craziness that is wholly encompasses this group.
And then there’s Lunatic, cute little fluffy mystery kitten. More to the story there? Or simply a new mascot for this Queen and her guard?
I don’t know why I don’t just automatically read everything that M. Sinclair writes. Honestly, I can’t think of anything I’ve read from her that wasn’t awesome.
I am greatly enjoying this series so far. Grey is now Queen. I found the description of this book somewhat misleading, it hinted at much more conflict than there was. We only got one instance of fighting in this book, the rest of the time was pretty easy going. Also, the description tells us that evil king tells her she has five mates, but that never happens. He doesn’t even show up in this book.
Grey is taking the time to get close to her guards. How she doesn’t realize they are her mates, or even know what mates are, is frustrating. Honestly, she should have known just by the tattoos. In this book she gets close to the twins and has one instance of intimacy with Neo towards the end.
This is a short, novellas length books. Not much happened. Either way it was enjoyable and I look forward to continuing her story.
I have fallen completely in love Gray and her men! M. Sinclair continued to weave a brilliant story full of twists, turns, action, love, lust and more!
I loved that in this book was got to see more of Gray’s relationships with each men start grow deeper. It’s clear as day, that despite duty, their love is completely raw, real and uninhibited. It is all Gray. The dynamic between Gray and her men is truly stunning. They all have such a special and unique relationship with Gray and I cannot wait to see them expand and deepen even more!
I truly loved seeing Gray step deeper into her Queenly duties. She was clearly born to rule. Her compassion, loyalty and fierce protectiveness over the Horde and its people is a priority for her. She cares deeply and will do everything in her power for them.
I absolutely cannot wait to see what comes next and to see Gray continue to be the bada** she is!
Binged this within a couple of hours, it’s too good to take it slow.
I’m not always a fan of fae reads as depending how they are written and what era they are in can be lacking so to my utter surprise well I say that but M. Sinclair is one of my favourites so I knew she wouldn’t disappoint. Our FMC is changing things and I’m here for it. Not only fae but other supernaturals are included in this awesome series. Which balancing my kind of read 😁. From slow burn, a tease here and a tease there, now finally getting some treats 🥵
I can’t complain, I absolutely love how this series is going. Fun, entertaining, exciting, addicting and just what you need in your life.
This book was awesome! Gray and the guys are total badasses! I love the emotion and action and romance in this book. The twists and unexpected events are so amazing. I need M. Sinclair to really hurry with this next installment because I can’t wait. The relationship between all of the guys and Gray is growing so much. M. Sinclair really drags you into the memories and flashbacks and emotions that the characters are feeling. This fog was just awesome and hilarious and so full of wit and sassiness. M. Sinclair you rock!
I didn't understand why the author wrote a fourth volume except to introduce a sequel with Luna🙄🙄 The whole story could have been written in three volumes so the third one wouldn't have been so boring! Things with Colliard dragged on and he has been captured so easily at the end that it was almost ridiculous. I was expecting a big fight! On the other hand, I loved reading about their wedding and their children😊 The sequel with Luna may be interesting. It should be followed!
This was really good reading about the cat and esme and bobby returning made me really happy. I do see as I read on that I definitely should have her books but ah well. I will do it correctly another time!
Again this was good and also of Ayden killed Mario’s dragon why didn’t he immediately go to avenge him?
Also he just doesn’t seem like the kind of guy to only focus on gray and her men I feel like he would hurt her by going after someone else. And if he did come to her it would be with overwhelming force killing her people and army before ever touching her.
We shall see..

What a great sequel! It’s so great watching Gray grow and take control of her kingdom, Queendom? Yeah.. definitely Queendom. This woman is about to make a lot of changes, I feel it in my bones. The only thing I’m still missing is my man Taylor’s backstory! I fell in love with him the moment Gray met him and I needs to know everything. Here’s to hoping book 3 finally delves into him.
This series is mind blowingly good. Gray is a bad a@@ that takes names and kills to protect what is hers. She finally comes home to take over the kingdom and get revenge for her parents murders. This book has me laughing out loud and even reading lines out loud because I could feel the attitude Gray had to have to say it. Devouring this series! Don’t know why I waited so long to read it.
Absolutely loved the second book! Was even better than the first and the first was pretty epic! I love everything about this story, from our kick a** heroine to her hot as hell guards. Really keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting for what’s about to come next. She’s been through so much and still does what she can to protect others. Amazing story! Can’t wait for book 3.
In book 1, we start to figure out who Gray really is. In this book, Gray goes back to the Horde to take her rightful place as the True Heir. However, the Dark King wants her dead, and traitors are in the Horde. Gray and her guys need to go all out to stop them and to bring change to the Horde.
It was really a quite good read and it gave us more insight about Gray and who her guys are and how they came to be.
If you haven't read book one you are missing out but book 2?! OMG! Loved this book and the characters have grown so much since the first book. So much is going on and even though there are many unanswered questions this book is a must read. M. Sinclair was a new author to me and will definitely be one I look for again!
So many details clicked into place for me after reading Lunatics! I'm finding that I can genuinely relate to the incredible character that is Gray. She just keeps going. Pushing to be the person she wants to be. I'm loving how her relationships are progressing with her men and how this is leading to some healing for all of them. This world will forever be one of my favorites.
I probably said this in my first review but seriously Gray is a badass! She so strong and even if her confidence wavers sometimes, she always has her men with her. I love that their relationship is progressing and that she is letting her walls down with her guys. Can't wait to see this crazy group grow even more!
Oh my goodness. I just couldn't put the book away. What a great second book the characters just jump out at you and you cannot help but fall in love with them. I love the gradual build up of relationships between various characters and the interactions with new characters. Cannot wait to read the next book in the series. Well done to M.sinclair
1 Star = DNF. 2 Star = Finished. Didn’t really enjoy. 3 Star = Finished. Story was neither good nor bad. 3.5 Star = Finished. Story was good. Will maybe pick up next in series if there is one. 4 Star = Finished. Enjoyed story & will definitely pick up next in the series! 5 Star = Bloody Loved it! ♡
Really enjoyed this second instalment setting the scene for the upcoming war with the Dark Fae. Seeing the characters develop and relationships blossom - even amongst the carnage and betrayal!
4 star read this time - mainly due to the less than stellar editing and proofreading. Improvements needed. However still a good read. Add to your TBR.
I'm beginning to understand what this story is all about now. I'm loving the relationship building between Gray and her guys and the delving into more of the fantasy side of things. The story is picking up speed now and my fingers are crossed that the upcoming battle will be epic!
Better than the first but still not great. Mario, as the evil Dark Fae King, underwhelming to say the least. He doesn't feel like a threat. The FMC is so nonchalant about things, that the plot just feels like it's about her harem and that's it, it feels like the series is going no where.
Plus the main is just a little too perfect. Typical 'ur so perfect, i love you so much' eye roll
Continuing the story from the first book this one follows Gray’s next steps. I’m trying to keep my reviews as spoiler free as possible but I enjoyed this book and you get to meet Vegas and her men who feature in another one of M Sinclair’s book series based in this universe. This is one of my go to series to read
I just fell in love with this series!!!!! Grey is such an awesome character!!! She is badass but still kind, and completely lovable . Her guys are absolutely wonderful and I can’t wait to get deeper into their relationship!
I really enjoy Gray as a character. She is fiercely protective of those she cares for and revenge is definitely not off the table. There are so many more questions and I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds.
I really really love these books! I'm hooked on this author, I'm doing rereads before I'm finishing the books that are out. Grey and her men are amazing. They are getting ready for war, I almost feel sorry for Mario...not!!
I read M. Sinclair's series out of order, but I love getting to read about Gray and her men. I really enjoy Sinclair's writing style, and the story flows smoothly.
I really enjoy reading this series so far. Gray and her men are amazing. We also meet Vegas and her men, which was nice, because this encounter happened in the Red Masques series too, where we got the other PoV. Very compelling read!
