They took too much from me. Now I will burn their world to the ground.
The final book in The Offered series.
They broke me, stole my will to live. I survived. I’m put back together from the pieces they took and now surviving is no longer enough. Love is not enough. There’s a darkness growing in me that demands vengeance.
Rust is a post-apocalyptic romance and adventure with some disturbing themes set in a dark, dystopian world.
Claire Vale lives in a small town outside London. When she's not thigh-deep in real life, you'll find her head-and-heart-deep in the tangled lives of her characters.
A lot of books have a frustrating ending. Even worse is an ending that feels to abrupt, like they couldn't stick the landing and just gave up. An ending that doesn't sense. It infuriates me when an author has trouble with endings and they just give up. It leaves me unsettled when an ending doesn't make sense. This ending was satisfying. It made sense. It felt like an ending, and they aren't easy. Claire nailed it. I'm not going to give you a synopsis, because that would ruin it for you. Just know that this truly is a trilogy - and it's a good one. If you like paranormal romance, or dystopian fiction, you will like this series. You may or may not agree with it, but it's written well. In the end, you won't be left wondering, unsettled, or unfinished.
The moment I finished book two, I preordered the conclusion. I really wish each of them were longer and more flushed out but the tension is just so good. I was addicted to Kane (sorry Gabe). The banter between Senna and Kane reminded me of all the fun part of Jude and Carden from The Cruel Prince (yes, high praise).
The pacing was always perfect. There was never a moment where I thought it dragged. Or that it was too fast even. Despite craving more, I know this was a great series. However, I really wish the ‘finale battle’ was more... harrowing and... complicated. I hate when things just fall into place, which is just mean of me for wanting the characters to suffer but it’s just more juicy and twisted that way.
I want to thank BookSirens and the publisher for getting me hooked on TITHE. It was a brilliant move to suck me in.
Can we get a spin-off with the frontier? There so much potential for more (even if I’ll miss one of my favorite slow build ups).
This series was definitely fast-paced and easy enough for me to binge all three books in one sitting (with some skimming that didn’t really affect how I understood the story or characters, which is usually a turn-off for me).
It’s an interesting world at the beginning, but the more I read, the more it felt like a fantasy romance and less dystopian romance. Maybe it’s just the vibe for me with the vampyers, etc. but I had a hard time believing this book was set in a future dystopia of my current world. I didn’t even know we were in the US until the second book (I thought we had been in a made-up city, which I guess is where I really started to get the fantasy feel from).
Senna’s issue to pick between two boys as polar opposite as night and day is made very clear right from the get-go, and I’ve got to admit that I hated it. I hated the way it panned out. I didn’t want a love triangle in this series (because it’s rarely done well) and I just don’t think this book delivered on that front. It was obvious to me from the get-go (from the blurb) that the author’s endgame for Senna was Kane, but I couldn’t find myself fully believing Senna’s reasons for giving up Gabe and choosing Kane.
While this book did offer entertainment and something for me to read on my downtime, I wouldn’t spend time reading it again. It was just mid and there wasn’t much that felt enticing about the writing or characters for me to really invest myself in (I did spend some time skimming in the second and third book just so I could get to the end).
Rust is a roaring end to "The Offered" which is overall a great series. The tension is kept at a great pace and the interplay between Senna, Kane and Gabe kept me guessing until the end! Some pretty tense and dark scenes & themes, but never gratuitous, always well-written. This was a cracking story and ended the series on a high note. The story line was good too, the focus is always on the challenges Senna and her friends must face, but there's an undertow that did make me think about the mess we're leaving the world in for the future youth. Like Senna and Kane & Gabe, will our children and grandchildren have to face the task of re-building a world that's been distorted by pandemics and climate change? I highly recommend all three books in this series, Book 1 Tithe, Book 2 Silk and the best of the three, the final story Rust
This is a fantastic series. I read the first two books back to back but had to wait a few months for the final installment. But picking it up again it dropped me right back where I left off and there were no annoying references to previous books or characters. The plot of this book is a little less action and more schemes and plots for revenge, be t the pace was still good and the ending satisfying. The cloak did reappear, though not how I expected and there was a little twist at the end.
What I love about this series is that it's different. I'm not into vampire fiction particularly, but this was different. It was a dystopian plot and a vampire story all mixed up in one, and the world created was simple to understand yet we'll set out so you could imagine it all. Definitely one to read.
Well, this series ended on a much higher note than it started for me!
The third book had a lot more going on and action. Senna went through a lot in the second book, so it stands to reason she wants to do something about the Vampyres rather than nothing and live life like nothing happened. I mean there’s no way I could continue life as normal after what she went through. So, I’m glad Senna seemed to be put herself more together and actually do something that didn’t involve boys(even though she still allowed them to distract her at times), but she seemed to grow up a bit. She took the reins and devised a plan, no matter the sacrifice, to stop the Vampyres. The only thing is that I wish the way it ended wasn’t so fast. It just didn’t seem believable. It felt rushed when I think it could have been dragged out a bit.
Overall, I enjoyed the series. It was a unique and different idea from the norm, and I really appreciate that in a book. This series definitely stands out. There were just little things that bothered me, like Senna 😅, but overall it is a good story.
A perfect conclusion to this trilogy. This is truly one of those trilogies that you know you will read again just because everything pleased you as a reader. Each character had a role to play and played it beautifully, the storyline kept you glued in willingly, and from one book to the next, everything picked up with a flow that made sense. You can’t help but wonder about what path we are presently on ourselves. This author made it easy to recommend this series highly. All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
There was a lot of plot building leading up to the final book in the series, and I’m left feeling just a bit unsatisfied by the ending. The whole “burning down the world” thing was extremely rushed for how long it took just to get up to that point. It seemed like I blinked and it was over. Also, I wish the author flushed Kane and Senna’s story out a bit more. *spoiler* Even thought she ends up with him over Gabe, Gabe sure did get way more written about him. It wouldn’t been nice if there was a touch more HEA.
Although this wasn't my favorite series, and I was very disappointed with the revelations of the 2nd book, I wanted to finish it. It certainly is not comparable to the Hunger Games or any other highly acclaimed series, it was well written. The characters were nowhere near developed as well as other books. They were all mostly infuriating and often stupid. Katniss Everdeen volunteered for her sister. Who knows why Senna volunteered. So many comparisons that make this series a shadow of other books. Really, just a wannabe.
I have never read a book so suspenseful and emotionally captivating as this one. I never knew which way Sennas life would end or who she would choose but in the end I can’t imagine a better end! I wish that this series could be continued!! I have read a lot of dystopian novels/books but none were as action filled and emotionally investing as this series!!! Definitely recommend!!!!!
I really appreciated this trilogy for being that vampire YA romance but I feel like it also dug a little deeper. It hit on love and loss and your first love and how it isn’t always THE love. It didn’t leave me feeling like twilight did that’s for sure lmao. I also feel like I didn’t know who was going to get the girl in the end UNTIL basically the second half of the third book and I feel like very few authors can hide that as long!

I enjoyed the last two books of this series far more than the first. While the storyline kept me interested, I think the buildup of killing a 3000 year old vampire king could’ve been more extravagant? Dramatic? I feel like we just glossed over it and bam, he was dead. But overall, it was a quick, fun series to read. And yes,
If Kane has million fans, then I'm one of them. If Kane has one fan, then I'm THAT ONE. If Kane has no fans, that means I'm dead.

This ticked all my boxes, a dystopian romance of perfection.
The FMC grows and develops relatively independently, without being consumed by the romance in the way so many other authors seem fond of. The MMC was better than Rhysand (other than sense of humour). I was sad to finish this series (in under two days).
Anyways, I'm going to buy this series as I know I'll read it again and again.
I liked the story line and the love triangle. The author did a great job of keeping us on our toes about which guy she’d end up with. My biggest problem was all the spelling, typing, grammatical errors throughout all three books. It seem like nobody every proofread the story before it was published. It’s hard to take an author seriously with so many mistakes. I won’t be reading anymore of her books because of the sloppy writing.
Wasn’t sure where book one was going but it certainly intrigued me. And then Boom! It was Mr Toad’s Wild Ride! I really enjoyed this trilogy. Kudos for keeping my attention through all three. Although the ending did seem rushed. I was really wanting a little more drawn out ending with the King. But hey! All well that ends well!!
This final book in the series was so good! It had all the mystery, drama, and romance I look for in a book. This whole series was so good I hated to see it end. I cried, laughed, felt fear and terror, and fell in love with the characters. I would recommend this series to anyone who loves to read.
This book series was very good! Not just for YA! I am very selective in what I read. This kept me very entertained and even though the first book started out slow I enjoyed every page. Once the characters are explained the story's flies through all the action you could ask for
This book felt very rushed at the ending. We all knew what was going to happen, but the ending just happened and then it was done…but the rest of the story I enjoyed. I debated Team Gabe vs Team Kane through the whole thing even though I knew where she would end up. Entertaining read, even if predictable.
Sooooo many typos in this one and I felt like the ending was rushed. This series could have easily been spread into more books and character building, so I am a tad confused on why that didn’t happen.
Despite all of that, I am a tad sad to see the series end. If you want a quick, good series to read, this is it.
This story is such a satisfying ending to the series. Senna is amazing and I loved what she says at the very end to Kane. It shows her growth and how far she’s come. I also enjoyed the pacing and the plot of the story as a whole and within this book. This series has been on my TBR for awhile and I’m so glad I finally decided to read it!!
Such a fantastic trilogy I ate this trilogy up in a single day. Fast paced. Twists turns, cliff hangers, angst, YA. I love Claire’s writing and this dystopian view on a fictional vampyr rise and fall. I loved Senna, Gabe and Kane. Each will have a special place in my heart. Couldn’t recommend enough. Bravo Ms Vale on another fantastic trilogy!
Not as good as the second book as it was just too predictable. I have to honestly say that I never came to care for Senna and that surprised me. Senna was just too wishy washy for me and I could hardly tolerate her back and forth between Gabe and Kane.
I did not see anything that happened was coming. It was such an amazing trilogy to read. I was sucked in immediately. I can't wait to see what else Claire Vale has released or will release!
tvI recommend this series. I read all three books in two days. I could not stop thinking about Senna and her determination to create a safer world for mankind.
A great ending for a great trilogy. However, it really could have all just been one book. I wish she had included an epilogue that gave a glimpse of 5 years down the road.
Read all three. You won’t be disappointed. A real love story. Not just love between boy/girl but of oneself. Teaches acceptance of hard things and that it’s ok to move on.
I was pleasantly surprised by this little trilogy and its new take on an old trope. I won’t say more to avoid spoilers. Overall, It’s a well written (only a few typos) fun read.
I love this book. It was such a great ending to a really good trilogy. Senna and Kane…. Whilst I don’t want to give away the story and ruin it for everybody. I’m so glad that they ended up where they ended up.
I did truly like this series. The flow from each book and the characters growth made the story great. Personally though I never forgiven Gabe even after the story completed. Sienna is just too forgiving. Great read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy. Claire Vale brings her characters and books to life. I was sorry to see the end of the trilogy but she ends it perfectly! Can’t wait to read some more of her books!
