Harnessing her powers as a witch was easy, being the princess of the New Order was something no academy or amount of training could have prepared her for.
Cinnabar (Cinn) Knight understood that her parents and her aunts and uncles were the glue that held the collective order in place. Growing up, she accepted she was different, but she had no idea how special, or how powerful she’d become. Not only that but no matter how much training she’d received, she was ill-prepared to become the princess of the New Order. Worse, that her prince, Axel Grove, the arrogant bodyguard assigned to keep her safe from the Elite Brotherhood and those who wanted to the balance of psychic power to fall in the wrong hands, thought she wasn’t capable. As a matter of fact, he believed she was nothing but a spoiled witch who didn’t have what it took to lead the New Order into the future and beyond.
A waitress attending night school at the academy discovers, along with the gift of magic, she has royal blood flowing through her veins. America’s latest foodie channel sweetheart is a real charmer, who discovers not all the magic happens in the kitchen. Clair struggles with taking control of her magical powers until she meets a guy who really needs her help. A beautiful witch, empowered with the gift of creating strong magic spells since childhood, now refuses to use them––until her friend’s murder changes everything. An investigative reporter’s strange visions force her to really use her powers. When a rival tries to mess with her magic a witch must find a way to rekindle her flame.

Cinn has a life away from Lake George and her family, NY city is exciting and her modeling let to a role on a daytime drama. Now she's been summoned home, the event they've been waiting for is close to becoming reality. Cinn has always been a strong witch but she's out of practice. Something she's not willing to admit.
Axel is a werewolf, he's also Cinn's mate. He's been trying to move on since Cinn left to pursue her dreams but he loves her still. Her parents sent him to pick her up at the airport and Cinn is not happy. Axel is the one who chose to stay behind, he could have done his art in the city and stayed home instead of keeping them together.
These two have to find common ground or they will lose the coming battle. There's also Cassidy who Axel has been seeing, he's been thinking in terms of not having his mate and settling for less. She has different ideas and isn't happy Cinn is back.
Axel and Cinn are going to her family's private island to reconnect and work to strengthen her powers. Some new things pop up and then there's the problem of the upcoming battle with Zelig.
Plenty of heat in this book, Axel and Cinn are mates and when it comes right down to it neither one of them wants to settle for less than the love they share.
Not so much action as planning and trying to figure out who to trust. Finding ancient artifacts and unlocking key elements are key in their battle.
This is not the end. The New Order needs to have all the Queens, and Cinn with Axel as her King is only the first.
I can't wait to read the other books in this series.
This is the first book in a new multi author series but it is also a follow on from The collective This is the story of Cinnabar (Cinn) Knight and Axel Grove.

Now with the Wizard Zelig Hart back and bent on destroying all they hold dear they will have to work together if they are to survive At the same time they will have to deal with Cassisdy a woman who Axel has been dating after all his mate had left him. Can they survive and triumph You will have to read to see
The first book in this series is a follow up to the previous “The Collective Order”. An enjoyable paranormal series that brings us the children of the characters in the previous series. Cinnabar “Cinn” Knight, after completing her training at the Witches Academy was not ready to be the princess of the New Order. She moved to New York to become a popular model and actress. Now it is time for her to return home and be reunited with her werewolf lover and bodyguard Axel Grove. Axel is second in line in his pack after his father. He knows that it is up to him and Cinn to join forces to defeat the wizard Zelig Hart. When they hear that Zelig is back, will Cinn and Axel’s combined power be enough to defeat him once again? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)
The ending of the Collective Order gave us a foreshadowing of what was to come with the New Order, and I’ve been looking forward to seeing how it would play out ever since. This is Cinn and Axel’s story; part urban fantasy, part second chance romance. In the beginning of this book, I didn’t much like Cinn. It was very easy for me to see her through the lens of Axel’s hurt and I couldn’t see where she got the idea that she was the injured party. I really enjoyed seeing them work out those old wounds and grudges and find their common ground as fated mates again. I think this story sets the stage for some very interesting things to come and I look forward to reading more about them. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Cinn Knight was always told that she and Axel were destined to be together and defeat the Wizard Zelig. Cinn doesn’t know if or when this will happen, and wants to pursue her dream of being a model and actress and moves to New York. She feels betrayed when Axel refuses to move with her. Fast forward a few years to find that Cinn is summoned home because Zelig has been released and the battle will occur. Cinn doesn’t want to admit that she has let her magical powers get rusty, but goes along with her family’s wishes to spend time with Axel to build up their powers to prepare for the ultimate battle. Good second chance romance, and the build up for the ultimate battle. Looking forward to reading more in this series.
This book starts after the Raven sisters and the collective. In this book the children from the sisters and their husband's have grown up and it's their turn to fight evil. This book is Cinnabar and Axel's story. She is called home by the family because of the enemy Zelig. Cinn has been told all her life she is special. But she doesn't care to come home and is bored about the whole thing. Will she be able to get her act together when they need her too? Will Cinn and Axel who is her mate come to a agreement and get past everything? There's the unseen enemy and fairies. I thought the fairies were great. All in all great start to a new series.
It’s now the turn of the next generation after the collective, and what a way to start! The book opens with Zelig’s thrall and banishment, and it follows Cinnabar and Axel – but on first meeting, there is much to be concerned about. Cinn is bored of waiting for her destiny, and she’s stopped practicing and has become complacent, riling Axel no end, which leads to some brilliant scenes. The story is packed with everything you’ll enjoy, including faeries, some laughter, and the great characters we expect from this author.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
Twilight meets even more insipid plot, one of the few books could not bring myself to finish, was trying to get through the series, in order, because had read Anna Celeste Burke's, #3 I think, but not like this one, almost did not bother to review, but after reading #2 which was not even sure rated the 3 gave it, backtracked to this one. Next is Anna Celeste Burke's so at least I know that one will be good to me, though no idea about #4 and onwards, though if too bad, to me, will simply stop reading the series, as I went through over 300 books last year, and a stroke, so life is too short for bad or unenjoyable books.
A New Order (Witches Academy Series Book 1) Jen Talty
Knowing she was supposed to be the leader and protector of the New Order never sat well with Cinnabar. She wanted her modeling and soap opera career. She also had wanted Axel, the werewolf bodyguard, to go with her. Now he believed she was a spoiled bratty witch who couldn’t defeat the evil thus getting them all killed. Could she prove him wrong and save the New Order and give them a happy ever after? An intriguing story of twists and turns that at times has you holding your breath. Another late night read in the world of the new order.
This is a great start to a new series. A prophecy has foretold that Axel and Cinnabar are to become King and Queen and must save the world from the evil Zelig Hart, who was banished to the core of the Earth but has now somehow escaped. There is much more to this struggle between Zelig and Axel and Cinnabar, but it can't be told here without spoiling the storty. The families of Axel and Cinnabar are a delight in how they handle Axel and Cinnabar. This is a book that you won't be able to put down once you begin reading it. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
“Honestly, Cinn, I wish I were. Having you home is about the last thing I want. You basically turned your back on all of us, and frankly, with you at the helm, we’re all doomed.”
And, I'm really sorry. I wanted to like this book (I read and reviewed book 5 and I gave it 5 stars) but if Cinn and Alex are all this group has against Zelig they are all doomed. I did not finish this. I cannot say I want to read any others. I really tried, but it's angry and boring. Cannot recommend.1/5
I received this book for an honest review. The is the first book in the new order series. A great read and a new series to follow on from the collective order. This is the story of Cinn and Axcel and the continuing fight against an old evil I enjoyed the read and look forward to the oncoming of further books
This is the first in a seven Witches Academy Series with each by a different author. Being a paranormal story, Cinnabar Knight is a witch and Axel Grove is a werewolf. He is her bodyguard and was her mate but they didn’t part on good terms. He plans on keeping her safe from the wizard Zelig Hart. Will they be strong enough to handle everything Zelig throws at them?
Cinn and Axel have loved each other for years and are destined to be Queen and King. They are fighting about how they feel about each other. Each have a dream of the life they want and where they want to live. Then there is the prophecy they are to fill. You start out disliking Cinn, she seems too full of herself but she changes, fun to watch the change.
You will absolutely love the main characters, Cinn and Axel who were both very hurt, angry, and nasty to each other to protect themselves from their feelings of true love. I was disappointed with the battle scene, which wasn't really a battle and the villain Zelig escaped. Weird!
The start of a new multi-author series, as well as a spin-off of the Collective Order series. A witch and a werewolf must save the world, too bad they have history. Perfect for fans of Rebecca Zanetti.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author, I really like the storyline, and I like the characters. Cinn is a famous actress on TV, and a well known witch. She and her family will face a great evil. I want to read another book by this author.
I liked the characters, especially Cinn and Axel, who hold the future of their people in their hands. The storyline was intriguingly different and enjoyable.
A great start to the series. There's the enemy to worry about and the fairies were something else. Cinn was really spoiled and she needed an attitude adjustment. She left home for a modeling and acting career. Her family said time to come home. Although her fated mate wasn't too sure about her anymore. Get ready for a great story and funny at times. HEA.
I received this book as part of an ARC review. It is set about twenty five years after the Raven Sisters series with the children grown. They have a new enemy, Zelig Hart. I do have to wonder more about Gertrude and hope to find out more as the series continues. Gertrude buys time until Cinnabar and Axel are ready to fight. Cinnabar or Cinn as she goes by was in a relationship with Axel but when she pursued her career, it stopped. When she called back to her family, Cinn had to repair the relationship enough so they could fight together. It wasn't hard as both Cinn and Axel never stopped loving each other and they were fated mates. They reconnect just in time for the battle. They manage to defeat Allanon but not vanquish him. The battle will continue with the next queen. Although I loved Cinn's title of The Queen of Modesty. Cinn and Axelwill get married and start the next generation of the Order. I love this new series so far.
