This book is full of information about chins - the rodents with very big ears and the softest fur imaginable. Written by a veterinarian, it covers everything from birth on including food, housing, toys, health, breeds and breeding. New owners will appreciate the completeness.

Choice Book #1 Quarter #3 The Chinchilla Handbook By Sharon Lynn Vanderlip
The genre is non-fiction.
It is about taking care of chinchillas.
In this book the author explains how to properly take care of chinchillas, a popular small pet.
I liked the book a lot because even if you know completely nothing about chinchillas, when you read this book you would be ready to get one in no time. I also like it because it gives you a lot of facts about the chinchillas. The book tells you what they eat, what not to eat, what kind of cage they need to live in, different things about grooming, and how to pick the best chinchilla for you.
My favorite part of the book was about what they eat because they can eat so many different things.
The emotions it made me engage was inspiration because you can teach something you know to another person you barely knows about it.
Yes it felt complete.
I can compare this book to other books about small rodent-like pets.
I would have added a warning that there was going to be a part about breeding.

I brought our girls to some library programs this summer which featured interesting animals. Two of the programs introduced us to the adorable chinchilla. Our oldest was in love and insisted on finding a book about them at the library. This is a very comprehensive book about chinchillas, primarily the care and feeding of them. We didn't read this whole book; mainly we read about them, where they came from, and how they narrowly avoided extinction. Then we looked at all of the cute pictures that are scattered throughout the book.
