I didn't hate this book, but I can't say I really enjoyed it either. Even as short as it was, I had a hard time finishing it. To me, it seemed almost more like an extended synopsis than an actual story. It was an intriguing premise, but didn't flow very well, almost like a kid telling a story. You get some of what was said, a bunch of what happened, but it jumps forward with missing pieces. So many interesting things were simply glossed over and never explored. For example, you get a VERY brief glimpse into Richard's former life as a bad boy biker, but that's it. No true sense of what it was like, though it's mentioned several times. All in all, I was disappointed by this work, and I won't be reading more by this author.

I had a hard time actually feeling the story. Not sure if it was the editing or the characters were meant to sound that way but some of the things that progress don't make sense. The way James hires Ellen and the comments the receptionist says at the beginning already had me scratching my head. I could see how their chemistry could potentially cause them to just jump in, but the way it's written doesn't jive with that. It doesn't seem organic and I love insta-love, short stories. I won't dismiss the author and will read a few more stories to see if maybe it was a fluke or it was just me not feeling it.

I won't dismiss the author and will read a few more stories to see if maybe it was a fluke or it was just me not feeling it. The story needs better editing so that it would flow and also remove the grammatical errors. The characters had no real depth to them and I am still not sure what kind of business or industry was involved. The story left me with questions.

The story was good, but this book very much needs to be read through and edited. The first chapter really pulled me in and it made the story very intriguing to me, but as I read I found so many things that needed to be fixed and worked on that the story just couldn't be enjoyed. No offense to the author, it was a good concept but it desperately needed to be read before publishing and edited for mistakes. There's a character named Fred, later in the book he's called Frank. I really wanted to give this story more stars, but I just couldn't because by the end I was just glad that it was over and I could move on.
3.5 stars First things first; I like the cover of this book! This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline entertaining. When Ellen is sacked from her job she is gutted. When she quickly gets a new job she never expects to fall for the boss. The chemistry between Ellen and Richard is clear to see and I liked them together. I loved how Ellen stood up to Fred! The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an easy read.
Kendra Roberts has written a 5 star book. Ellen has applied with Richard's company after being let go from the company she worked for. She gets a interview with Richard who is attracted to her at first site. As they spend time working together their feelings grow stronger towards each other. Will Ellen and Richard get together or will they fight their feelings? I received an ARC of this book for my voluntarily and honest review..
Ms. Roberts is a wonderful writer and I really enjoyed this book. The characters are well written and have an instant chemistry. This is a short story that grabs your attention. Richard is a CEO and Ellen is unemployed searching for a job online. Their first communication is through email and then they meet in person for her job interview.

I didn't necessarily like certain aspects of how the relationship played out but that lends to a this-is-real-life-and-not-everything-is-all-unicorns-and-rainbows aspect that gives this book depth.
Maybe this will be a book you like, I'd read another book by this author, given the chance.

Richard and Ellen first communicate through email and they meet in person on the day of her job interview. They are attracted to each other, but they don’t act on it. As they spend more time working together, they flirt. Grab your copy and see what happens in this short story.

This is an good short read if you are looking for something to do. The characters lacked depth and there were no supporting characters to make it interesting. The book felt superficial, however I liked the book but its not a favorite.

It is a short story, so a quick read. The story needs editing properly so that it would flow and also remove the grammatical errors. The characters had no real depth to them and I am still not sure what kind of business or industry was involved. The story left me with questions.
This story doesn’t feel like a book as much as a chapter in someone’s life. There is a few spots that skip ahead so you don’t get to build a strong connection to the characters during the story. The characters are good and I wish we had more time to get to know them as a part of the story.

This is the 4th book I've read written by Kendra Roberts; she has done a great job at writing a good short story; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the characters.

A bit on the short side but more importantly, I couldn’t really feel the love between them. I liked how the author started out the story but found it not quite believable once they met. Maybe a bit mire interactions and depth might have helped.

Fast paced with an easy sense of getting to know these characters. Like the connection, done with respect to each other not only as attracted to one another but, their work ethic and mind as well. Quick novella.

This story plot was very heartwarming to say the least. Kendra Roberts did an amazing job with the story and love they both ended up sharing. I will for sure be reading more of her books
A good book one in the Sweet Desires series! The story line is entertaining, well written, fast pace, and interesting. Endearing characters; their chemistry is instant and strong! Definitely recommended!

The story flows way too fast for the reader to care for the characters. I feel like there are many chapters missing from this, chapters with backgrounds on both the protagonists and the antagonist. It's not a bad story, it's just too short.
I just love this author. Her stories and characters are wonderful and now there is a new series to look forward to. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
