Blind Dating is a romantic novella that introduces us to Kimberley, a divorcee with 3 kids that finally decided that she needs to get out there and finally experience the world and everything that she has been missing out. Her children are her everything but the non-stop schedule is tiring her and she had enough. After deciding to start chatting online, she's taking control of her life and of her body. Working out, doing reckless things, dating out in the real world gives her more confidence to be a better friend, sister and a mother.

Fast, funny and enjoyable read. I finished the story in just few hours. What I can say about this book is that from the start it sounded like I'm sitting in the middle of a therapy session and just listen to the woman express her feelings. But as the book went on, I really started enjoying the book because it was funny and was written very lightly. It was one of those books that really easy to read but was kinda pointless at the same time.

Romantic Comedy is a genre that can totally work or totally not. Blind Dating has more romance than comedy to it, in my opinion. While some portions of the story were definitely worth a chuckle, meaning I will never look at two social media sites the same again, most of the story was not comedy. There was clearly some emotional baggage that weighed the story down into a more humble category of romance.
Kimberly is a rather likable character who has been dealt a raw deal in her early life. As the years progress and her main role of mom is about to not be her top priority she is looking for love. Enter the Internet, an ex-boyfriend, a few friends, and her dating pool is limited and a tad damaged. Her one constant is her family, her three children, her sisters, and her parents.
Ultimately this story stumbled a few times, I would love to have seen more development of the characters other than Kimberly. The plot was good, but when the story line began it was hard to follow. I spent far too long wondering where the story took place, and why certain things happened when they did. Technically I felt that the book needed a good polish edit, as there were plot holes and basic errors that could easily be fixed to make this a better story. Remember I am an editor though, and an author myself.
End of it, I would say that, I would like to see this book buffed up and then I think it would be a great romance novel.

Blind Dating is a fast paced, quick read about a woman trying to re-discover single life after going through an unhappy, loveless marriage and then finally divorce. This book had scenes that had me laughing my butt off because of the mental images I was having in my head! Kerry Taylor did a fantastic job at detailing the adventure women go through on getting back on the dating horse when they are no longer young and have the rockin bodies of a 20 something.

Kimberly was in a rut.... her life was a routine bore with 3 teenagers, work, and nothing else! She has been divorced from a man that was useless, cheated on her numerous times... one being their wedding day... for five years and has sunk to an all time low. She decides to try online dating, or chat rooms, and see if that can spark a little something something with someone. Kimberly soon finds herself with a revived outlook on life and gets back into the dating game. She becomes close friends with a fellow chatter and starts to wonder... to meet or not meet?????

I give Blind Dating 3 stars on the knock my socks off scale. This book is a funny, quick read that was entertaining. I think women, especially women who have went through the same situation as Kimberly, can really relate to this story and will definitely need to add it to their TBR list!!

Kimberly feels trapped by everything in her life. A no-good ex-husband who never lifted a finger to seriously help her, even before their marriage. Twin daughters and a son who are good, but who also lean more on Kimberly's younger sister for the important things. The "oh, I should have married them" former boyfriends. All this leads her to try a dating site, and that's when the fun begins.

As I read this book, I noticed one thing. It's more slice of life than light romantic comedy, and I could relate to it. Granted I only had two children to raise by myself, and there was no internet connections at the time I divorced my first husband – therefore no easy way to meet men, but our lives parallel in one way – the feeling you never have time for anything but kids, getting to and from school, sports, events, visitation, and the rest of your life revolves around work, errands, and housecleaning.

That being said, the book was a good read. It moved fast, which is good for anything light. But there was a lack of good plotting. The subject jumped around, and at times, I felt as if I were reading a treatise on womanly complaints. All in all, the story is good because so many women can relate to it.

Note: I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.

Kimberly is a single mother of 3 children in her forties whose life is pretty much going nowhere. So Kimberly has taken to going on a social media site to meet people. From then on her confidence starts to raise and she takes on meeting different men, men from her past and is out there having fun.

This book was pretty interesting. I liked it but when it came to the ending for me it fell flat, maybe its because I'm so used to my books having a lot of action or something building up to an amazing ending or a cliffhanger. Even though the book is good the way it is I wanted more. I was hoping that LonelySingle was her really her boss and it turns out they have a lot in common and she gives him a chance.

I found it hard to relate to the character, maybe because I'm of a younger age range and not close to the experiences of a married-then-divorced, middle aged mother. I liked the book but I think my mother would be more interested in it than me. If I wasn't recommended this book I probably wouldn't have read it or found it on my own. I told my mother about the book and shes really interested so when shes done reading it herself maybe she'll recommend it to her friends and write a review for the book from an older woman's perspective.

Overall I liked the book. Escape Into A Book

I recieved a copy of this book via email several weeks ago after emailing the author (who is so sweet by the way!) The genre of the story is chick-lit *sigh* which I love! The cover is super girly and the story super sweet. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars is because some of the grammer was distracting, I felt words could have been abreviated a little better but seeing the bigger picture; it is contemporary chick-lit, relatable to most readers, has well sculptured characters and storylines not to mention a gorgeous cover! I loved it, would love to buy the actual book.
Go check it out!

What an utter piece of crap!!! This novella doesn't even deserve one star.

The story is complete nonsense...wait, there isn't even a story. A central theme is not even existent. Paragraphs are breaking off and suddenly talking about something completely different. There are changes from personal to I-narrator and back. Punctuations doesn't seem to be one of the narrators favourite things either.

The only positive about it: It was very short.

I had the opportunity to read Blind Dating, and let me tell you, it's pretty funny. I couldn't stop myself from laughing. The story had a nice flow. Kimberly has had bad luck with men for a long time, until she meets someone online. The thing is, he might be closer than she thinks. I absolutely love the ending to this book. Kerry Taylor has a particular way of writing, so not everyone could grow costumed to it, but I think once you get used to it, it would be a very good book.

Kimberly is a 40+ single mother of three. She thinks she's doing well, until it dawns on her that she doesn't have a life. Well, at least not outside her work and kids.

Determined to make a start, to at least keep up with her mother, Kimberly braves an online dating chat group. And life gets very, very ... interesting.

Any book that has a main character older than twenty-five is going to get my attention. Like Nora Roberts' "Black Rose", I just love any book that realizes women of all ages are looking for and capable of love.

Sadly, Blind Dating does not live up to the promise of its premise. It could have been a phenomenal romantic comedy - there are certainly enough "What the heck?" moments to make it memorable. But it is so disjointed that I could barely follow the plot.

Yet, I think, with some work, this novel could reach its potential.

The author is a Brit living in Spain - either of those locations would have been a terrific choice for the book. Why put your book in a place you've never visited? So many readers, such as I, beg of you: Please - take us there.

Although each chapter has a title - a focus - the content does not support the title. An outline - a timeline - for the book would probably help this, tremendously. There are so many interesting stories. But they are broken up and repeated, in bits and pieces, in too many places. It dilutes the impact.

In its current form, I cannot recommend this book. I would, however, love to read the second edition.

I couldn't even get past the first couple of pages to read this book. Seriously, who edited this thing? Better yet, who wrote it? I don't think I was even that bad in grade school. The very first page starts off with this mess:

"Nicole refused to have the baby without being married first and Eric felt trapped but he went along with it, he did not trust Nicole and felt she may go do something stupid, like have an abortion, and he was not game for her having one, but then he was not game for her having his baby either - typical man!"

I seriously hit my face with my palm after that sentence. Just because you threw a whole bunch of commas in the sentence does NOT mean you can keep adding to it! However, I was just reading this as a light read before bed so I decided to go on.

After a few more run on sentences I saw "He dumped me, I am completely gutted;, I explains to my sister, Catherine on the phone." Run on sentences is one thing but "I explains" is only overlooked from foreign people who just came to this country and are still learning the English language. It wasn't even worth finishing the book after that.

Since Fifty Shades came out and fans defended the terribly quality of writing as being unimportant as long as the story was compelling (my thoughts on that abuse-filled POS is for that review) there has been an uptick in self-pubbed books that have forgone all editing. Unfortunately for self-pubbing authors who spend the time polishing their works, books like Blind Dating are burying the quality pieces.

The brief summary is good enough. A middle-aged woman gets into online dating at her mother's insistence, gains confidence, and finally meets one of the men in person only to find out they'd been friends in real life and never knew each other in this way. But the run-ons, grammatical errors, unnatural dialog, and general whining make for a hard read. Elementary school children would be given F's for the mistakes she makes.

To be quite honest, I think this was a NaNoWriMo piece that underwent no further work. It reads like a rushed first draft. A poor first draft is completely fine, and most are terrible, even for people like Stephen King. This is why writers have editors.

I read the blurb about this book and it looked very promising. However, the book wasn't very good at all.

It had no main story line. The written was very unorganized. It kept skipping from one event to the next with no direction. There wasn't any depth to the story either. And I couldn't connect with the main character. I really truly do not even know what it was suppose to be about.
And it states that its a romantic comedy. But I didn't read a lot that was funny. And the romance was lacking. I truly do not like this book, and I do not recommend it. It was a waste of time, and was grateful for how short it was.

I'm sorry if I may sound harsh, but this book is BAD. B-A-D! The writing, the editing...OMG...I have no words to describe how much this book sucks. It is probably in the top 5 worst books I've ever read. The plot (if there is any) is ridiculous and the writing is horrible. It was a total waste of my time.
I guess I'm in no mood of writing a proper review, but guys seriously, consider yourselves warned and invest your time in another book.

oh, my.... first time ever that I gave up reading a book at 17%! The impression I got from the writing was... how can I put it? Well, the author must be in the first English classes of her life. I'm not even sure whether English is a proficient language for her... really UN-bearable!!!!!!
