He has only one rule:
Never run. Surrender.

I owe my life to a masked killer.
He came for me, like an avenging angel of death sent to spare me from pain and humiliation.
Yet teach me the price of salvation.

I am bound to him by the blood he spilled for me, but he didn’t save me out of mercy. I don’t think he even knows the word.
He wants submission.
He wants me by his side.
And he wants this city for his own.

I will never surrender.

Alpha is the first book in Nora Ash’s suspense-filled Omegaverse series, Alpha Ties. Each book is a full-length novel with a complete romance storyline.

This series gets dark, and it gets dirty. If you don’t enjoy your romance scorching and your alphas rough & dominant, give this book a pass.

Please note: This book is the compiled version of Nora's previously published Omegaverse serial, Alpha. It contains the installments Alpha: Taken, Alpha: Masquerade, & Alpha: Mated.

I am Nora Ash, and I write a plethora of different romance books. Some of them are really dirty, some of them are only kinda-dirty, some are paranormal, some are contemporary… Basically, I have a rampant imagination and no way of controlling it, except from just writing down whichever idea pops into my head at the time.

The one thing my books always have in common, though? A great story and a guaranteed HEA.
If you’re ever in doubt about what you’re about to read, have a look at my book page. It has a flame rating for each series, so you know what you’re getting yourself into!

I’m originally from the cold North (AKA Scandinavia) but these days I live in rainy England with my amazing fiancé and our two pesty cats. When I’m not writing, I’m probably reading, watching Real Housewives of Wherever (reality tv it’s my shameful addiction) or hiking in whatever bit of woodland I can find.

Three fun facts about me

I once ran away with a traveling circus
I’m bilingual. Almost-kinda trilingual, but my Spanish is terri-bad these days.
I’m a decent rider (English style only, though)

4 This Constant Unrelenting Yearning Stars ⭐

There was something extremely carnal about this book. Maybe it's the primitive methods our villainous masked hero uses to take what is his. I found it unbelievably hot.

“This is not the fucking fifties, dude! I don’t belong to anyone, least of all some crazy murderer! If you think you can just force your way into my home and I’ll yield like a swooning virgin, then you really are out of your mind!”

You could imagine Leigh's horror when she presents while reporting at a political conference. What ensues is a possible gangbang with multiple Alphas in rut. It's worse because Leigh doesn't understand what's actually happening.

When Leigh ignores all the signs and symptoms, she does something incredibly stupid. She goes out after dark. If it wasn't for her masked hero, rape would have been inevitable. But with a vigilante come to her rescue, he will want payment.

Alpha definitely has a cat and mouse feel with Leigh really out of league. Because this masked Alpha wants her submission and she's now caught up in his affairs. This story had me addicted except for the political trope. Had it been a different trope, I would have been raving about this.

Nothing says I love you like a fist up the whazoo!!

I just love Omegaverse. Anything goes. Like literally, it can go....up the hooha! Seriously though, it's dark and intense usually, and things are always pushed to their limits. Whether it be emotions and feelings, or sexual boundaries. This story from Nora Ash exemplifies that.

I actually read this when it was a 3 part novella series, back when I was an Omegaverse newbie. I loved how alpha Peter Leod was then, and I really loved him now. He's smart, calculating, possessive, and a freaking sex God to boot. Not only does he have a soft sweet spot for his mate, he'll kill to protect her.

Leigh, is a strong independent woman. Once she gets in front of Peter, her biology takes over, and she presents for Peter changing their lives forever. She struggles to adjust her preconceived prejudices about what being an alpha's mate entails. Peter has to fight hard to win her submission, and boy does he. Leigh accepts all of Peter, including his fist. 🤪😱

I liked this Omegaverse story. I liked the evolution of their relationship. I loved Peter's overwhelming Alphaness, but also his sweet protectiveness. The over the top, kinky, steamy bits where just the sprinkles on top.

My Review

I enjoyed this one a lot and will now definitely be reading other stuff by this author in the future.
This is omegaverse and it was done very well it was also quite explicit which is as you would expect from this particular genre and I did especially appreciate this.

It’s set in a modern society but with alpha omega and beta dynamics in place.
Leigh a reporter presents during an electoral candidacy press conference catching the attention of all in attendance including mayor candidate Peter Leod.

This brings her fully to his attention and he definitely wants to know more, there’s danger and heat and also some added dark themes and it really was such an easy page-turner.
Peter a liberal has up until now has tried to suppress his alpha instincts but Leigh’s arrival in his life changes all that bringing all of his aggression and protective instincts to the forefront.

It was really well written and though not a very long read it delivered on all fronts.
If you’ve read this genre type before you’ll know just what to expect if not just a heads up it gets very dirty, but it still has a fully developed story arc running through.
Definitely recommend this one if you like omegaverse that’s not too dark.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Alpha (Alpha Ties #1).

One thing i’ve learned reading Nora Ash’s Alphas is that they are ALPHAS in every meaning of the word.
So,when she offered me the ARC of the new iTunes edition of Alpha,i KNEW i had to have it!
To read the full story in one go,to get the full Alpha experience in one book.
(With a cold shower at the ready for when i needed it.....and let me tell you,i needed it!)
And all i had to do in return, was write an honest review.
No problem,at all!!

Leigh is one of the reporters that covers the debate between the candidates running for the Mayor’s office.
She is professional, driven, and determined to do a good job.
That is....until one of the candidates looks straight at her.
What happens next,is something she doesn’t understand, and something she never thought would happen to her.
And all the Alphas in the room react to what her body does.....causing them to fight eachother to get their hands on her.
She gets away, just in time, but that’s not the end of the story....
Because she’s drawn the attention of one of those Alphas, one of the candidates,Peter.

Peter is a real Alpha, one that’s determined to get elected, removing the current, corrupt Mayor,Bremen from his office.
He’s sure he can keep his feral side under control, but seeing Leigh at the debate brings out his Alpha.
What follows could be a disaster to his plans....but he can’t get her out of his mind.
And it gets worse when he sees her again and touches her.
Actually....it’s more than just touch,it nearly ends in claiming her!

Leigh’s senses are on overload when Peter touches her,and she can’t help but want more.
Need more,to be exact...a lot more!
But she’s more than her needs, and she doesn’t know who she’s more angry with afterwards, him,or herself.
If only he didn’t turn out to be one of the rare Alphas that took her seriously.
That cared about her as a person, and wanted to do right by her.
That she started to care about, wanted to be with.....

But there are evil forces at work, determined to sabotage Peter’s ambitions.
And Leigh is the one they’re planning to use to force his hand.
Will they succeed,or is there a way for Peter to have Leigh ánd still become the new Mayor?

This was a delicious story, with an omega ánd an Alpha that both wanted to be more than just that.
And instead found that unique dynamic gave them more than they expected, and ended up craving it,needing it even.
I loved how Peter tried to hold himself back just to protect Leigh, but when she gave him permission,he gave her exactly what she needed.
And the way Leigh stood up for him when he needed it the most.

Never read a darker Omegaverse book, and I enjoyed this one thoroughly.

The mask was an interesting take to hide his identity from Leigh and let him show a darker side he otherwise could not to others. While I know there is a twist about what his real identity is, I guessed it early on and never wavered despite how it was portrayed. The twist could have been better but for a short little book where the main character gets railed, I can accept it.

The Alpha🅰🐺🍆⛲💪 Made Her Do It
ADULT Alpha🅰 Alien 👽Male Erotic Romance💕 and Adventure.

This is definitely well written ADULT Sci-fi EROTICA, with numerous ADULT situations punctuated by short spurts of story.

Author Ash📚 states that this book is a compilation of her previous novels " Alpha Taken", "Alpha Masquerade" , and "Alpha Mated".

The main character is Leigh💃💋, a reporter who suddenly and embarrassingly discovers she is an Omega♎ in the middle of a news conference! The book is written entirely from her first person perspective, which I disliked.
We get no perspective from her huge Alpha🅰 lover, Peter🐺🍆⛲💪. It would have been really nice to know what Peter🐺🍆⛲💪 was thinking and his motivations.

The ADULT scenes are quite graphic and depict rough s#x throughout and an attempted rape. Obviously, this book is not for everyone and could be a trigger for some.

wanted to use my Spotify audiobook hours. I didn’t realize they reset before the last day of the month. this was a quickie m/f omegaverse where they are not shifters and it seems like only alphas really exist. The omegaverse romances I’ve read before usually have alpha betas and omegas, so this was different in that aspect.

if you’re looking for erotic omegaverse with light plot, then this audio will do ya.

The audio for this book is already out; I'll be purchasing the the ebook copy when it comes out next year.

This is a great example of a repackaging that's beneficial to the author and fair to readers. The author was upfront in her newsletter/Amazon blurb/GR blurb that she's republishing her former books Taken; Masquerade; Mated into this one book. For new readers, if they buy this book they'll be saving a couple bucks too vs. if they purchased the other books separately. 👍

Btw I've read the former books and this is one of my favorite Omegaverse series. Definitely recommend; especially to people who might be new to Omegaverse. It's well written smut and has more of a contemporary feel compared to the other Omegaverses out there right now.

Not as good as Nora Ash's Feral, but a girl could dream?

However, giving it a 4-star. It was a solid omegaverse story, even if by the end, I didn't think anything bad would happen to the hero or heroine, and I don't like feeling like that. It doesn't have to be life or death but it should still mean something.

Also Norah Ash's descriptions of knotting. Whewwwww killing me :P

Solid 4 stars

Wonderful book. NA's writing is top-notch, done in an engaging and fluid style, with tons of sex-fest (I counted, it's easily 1/3 of the book 😍) and actual plot with a great message at the end.

The sex scenes were very graphical and spicy, just like I like them. And for once, unlike other authors in the same genre, there were no spanking elements (we did get a ✊👊🤛 scene though 🤯, and really well written and meshed with a plot point! at that, given that it's basically not my kink). The scenes were graphical and deliciously evocative for sure, and quite slow burn, with sexy details piling slowly upon one another to fuel the lust. Graphical but not in a disgusting lewd, or mechanical way, but definitely in the panty melting way. NA's writing proves to be intelligent enough to balance out interesting story and raunchy sex scenes in a seamless medley.

I didn't like the h in the first half of the book as she proved herself to be lacking some basic brains in the way she could not put two and two together about the identity of her masked lover despite all the hints being there (his voice, his eyes, his built, him mentioning Liberals etc); with her being a reporter, she did not come across as the brightest pencil in the box. But she redeemed herself in my eyes with the affirmative way in which she defended her Alpha in public, not just the man but the politician as well.

“Do not hold Peter Leod’s nature against him when you don’t hold it against every alpha who’s ever knotted a woman, and every beta or female who happily follows them. Do not punish him for what he is—hold him accountable for what he says and what he does, like you should any candidate hoping to lead our city. That is the only way to put a stop to the deceitful doings by corrupt men with too much power and too little respect for the people they are meant to serve. Do not blame their alpha nature for your distrust. If you do, you will only give them excuses. Blame their actions. Blame their ill intent. Hold them accountable not for what they are, but for what they do. And then act on it.

“Do not turn against the only hope Mattenburg has for ending the corruption.”

Concerning the H, even if he appeared to be a bit of a cad in the beginning (and the unique POV of the h did not help), I really like him a lot and the final chapters proved him to me as the perfect Alpha, protective, strong, but also caring and just wonderful. Leigh is one very lucky girl.

As I said, NA's writing is superb. I did find a few typos but not enough to distract me. It's not my first time reading her works but this is the first time I sat to write a review. She writes intelligently, releasing a book because she has a well-tied plot bunny and not because she has to publish something. And she is never shy to bring on the good (omg good) erotica to her stories. So, that's a triple plus in my book 😊

One thing: I am not too fan of 1st person POV, but it would have been great to have Peter's POV as well, esp. as Leigh was quite helpless in the first half. Also, because of having her POV only, I didn't find out her first name until the 40% mark, which was kind of grating.

About the world building: I think there was some clarification lacking. As it is, we know there are Alphas controlling the society, and beta men and no-designation women making up the society. NA used all the tropes of omegaverse without actually naming Leigh as an omega. This would not necessarily disturb me if the h did not again and again mentioned that she did not know all the customs of Alphas. How come? If such a society was up and running, everyone should know about the how-tos of designations, presenting, interaction between designations, why Leigh presented, why some women present and others not (or maybe they all do if they meet their Alpha?)... so many questions and no beginning of answers. I see that from the post-epilogue teaser that things will be getting more complex world building wise. Even if I am not a big fan of the 'military-lab-prisoner' trope in omegaverse (and the trope feels uncomfortably quite a 180° atmosphere change from this book), I will definitely read the next book in the series.

The society of Mattenburg reminded me a lot of the movie Zootopia* (with blatant sex and lust in addition 😏), all primal instincts, barely held back, wrapped in the pretense of civilisation. Definitely not going to work in RL, would have collapsed long, long ago. The high level of corruption (and the lengths to which the leaders will go) is quite disturbing. I know it is a 'light' romance book, but thinking about the evil side of that universe prompts me to say that, 'there's something rotten in the state of Mattenburg'... I don't know if Mattenburg affairs will have an impact on the next book/s, but if it does, I would not mind if the plot got more serious with Peter and co making a go at remodeling this sick society.

* awesome movie btw, highly recommended

This is the first book in the Alpha Ties series and features Leigh and Peter. It is an Omegaverse story so if that isn't your thing then I'd suggest finding something else to read, as this is Omegaverse heavy.

Leigh is a reporter covering a debate between potential candidates running for mayor. While she is sitting in on the debate, she locks eyes with one of the candidates (Peter) and things start happening to her body that she doesn't understand. Chaos ensues and Leigh gets out of there before any of the Alphas can get to her. Shortly after she loses her job because of the scandal she caused and isn't sure what she is going to do without money and security.

description

Peter is an Alpha and wants to win the seat of mayor to make real changes, as the current mayor is corrupt. But when Peter lays his eyes on Leigh he realizes there is something more important than winning office. He struggles with keeping his Alpha instincts under control because everything in him screams to possess and claim Leigh. These instincts could topple all the plans he has, as well as ruin Leigh. When Leigh's life is threatened by those that want to remove Peter, he must decide what is important. Can Leigh and Peter be together even if Peter wins mayor? Can Leigh and Peter have it all?

description

description

Leigh was a great character and while she was 'weaker' she was strong in the areas that counted. Peter was such a perfect Alpha and they complimented each other. The steamy scenes between them were great. I don't want to give away the twist in this story so if you want to know that, you'll have to read it. I thought it was clever, albeit predictable.

description

I really enjoyed this but I would have liked reading Peter's POV. I think missing his POV, I wasn't able to connect fully to him as a character. I also thought this was going to be a much darker read than it was. Maybe I've read too many dark books recently lol but this didn't seem dark to me at all. I think I wanted a little more edge to the story. Overall, a solid Omegaverse story!

This book started with a bang and never looked back. From the moment Peter Leod locked eyes with Leigh at the debate, he set off her Omega tendencies and her body presented going into heat unexpectedly. Every alpha in the place went into rut, and it set everything into a frenzy of rampaging alphas. It also got her put on unpaid leave from her job.

Leigh was totally confused as to what was going on. I’m still not clear whether or not she knew she was an Omega before that point, but there was no doubting it after.

This book seems to have been written for a post apocalyptic time that has evolved to the point where society is reforming. Peter Leod is a liberal politician who is fighting for change while the conservative older alphas want to keep things as they are, basically doing what they want with omegas, etc.

For Peter, seeing Leigh, his every alpha instinct kicked in immediately, this book is about how he chooses to handle his instincts and Leigh’s reactions to him from that perspective. You won’t find nesting or rape in this book, which I find is a good thing. Peter is yearning for change in society, he’s yearning to be the best person he can be, yearning for justice, and yearning for Leigh.

I enjoy reading OmegaVerse books. This is a great new world to explore. It’s a different take on many that have been put out to date. Peter is not your average alpha, and that’s a good thing. .

This one was wild and quick. The perfect palette cleanser between thick fantasy books. The writing wasn't the best but the spice popping. There isn't a strong plot but I wasn't expecting a deep heart-felt story.

Did I like the story? Meh.
Did I enjoy the spice? Uh huhhh, absolutely.

Is this worth reading?
It was great but I'm so glad I didn't purchase it. Considering it's not on KU, there are others that are comparable on KU for free. I'm also not sure I'm interested enough to continue on with the next story (different characters in the same world).

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and well constructed sentences. The world building was competent, though I was disappointed that there was no beta and omega classification for women the way there was a beta and Alpha classification for men. The characterization was excellent, with the hero and heroine both being sympathetic individuals with strengths and weaknesses. The development of the romantic relationship was deliciously scary and and HOT. This novel had a heat level of five chili peppers. The plot was exciting and the pacing was quick. I read this novel in one sitting. This novel had low angst and very high stakes, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel has the Enemies to Lovers trope and the Morality Chain trope. The world building was four stars. The plot and pacing were five stars. The development of the romantic relationship and characterization were both five stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of five stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a major plus. I recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys m/f Omegaverse romances with exciting plots and sizzling heat levels. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. I think I may buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

This was my first venture into the Omegaverse and I’m glad I chose this one! I tend to lean towards dirty and dominant antiheroes so it fit that perfectly. Nora packs in a lot of action in this one with a prominent storyline that will keep you interested but still has tons of heat. The balance between sex scene and plot was executed really well.

Peter is an Alpha politician who has a heart and tries his best to subdue his nature, thinking it grotesque and purely a lack of self control. He quickly learns that he’ll have to eat his own words when it comes to Leigh. She’s a super sassy reporter and even though she is a bit of a damsel in distress she doesn’t completely bow down to Peter. She fights tooth and nail but she can’t help but give into her base being, just like Peter. They recognize it goes beyond simple biological attraction and there’s no use in denying it.

Melissa Moran is a new narrator to me and I enjoyed her narration! She kept me interested and was clear to understand through out the entire book. Solo narration can be difficult to pull off and she did really well with all the voices! Melissa can narrate the male characters just as equally as the female, I’d listen to her again! This was a great quick, super dirty and intriguing book.

Alpha: Alpha Ties, Book one in a series by Nora Ash

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4.5 Stars rounded to 5
🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍 World building
👍👍👍👍👍Characters
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Sizzle

Poor Leigh, suddenly Presents (goes into heat) during an interview, causing all Alphas and the politicians in the room going ballistic, and showing their true volatile nature on live television. Suspended from work, she goes jogging in a park, but finds herself in danger until a masked Alpha (Leod) rescues her, but she just can’t stop releasing her pheromones.

Leod, an Alpha male and a Mayoral candidate whose platform is that Alphas need to reign in their basic instincts and not oppress others. The golden boy of the Liberals, and of the people.

Leigh is abducted and her life depends if Leod would come and rescue her, only this time, if he does, it would be the ruination of his political career. This is a story of a man going against his basic nature, and of a woman who won’t give up her independence and what unites them both inside and outside the bedroom.

This was a fun read as well as highly erotic so beware.

It was.. fine. Nothing earth shattering, not terrible. I'm still confused in Ash's A/B/O world where it seems only alphas exist. They still have mates but are never referred to as omegas. It's just strange to me.

Leigh was fine. Peter was fine. That's all I really have to say.

Beautiful in its brutality

What an intriguing omegaverse. The obvious chemistry between the MC’s has the temperature rising right off the bat. That’s right, this here book is a fast burn and wowza, is it H-O-T! That being said, I must warn that at times, things do tend to lean towards the darker side of romance and there are a couple of scenes that some may find a bit sensitive/disturbing simply because of what is implied. However, I found that it was well written as the author never took things too far and all in all, the story was beautiful in its brutality.

The MC’s were both interesting and strong. Peter Leod (the hero) can only be described as “swoon worthy” because if a man had to treat me the way this alpha acts towards Leigh (heroine) … you can bet your last dollar that I’ll be swooning -- for more reasons than one.

There’s never a dull moment throughout this book and I could not help but finish it way sooner than I would have liked. The only thing that could have (maybe) improved this book is if it was written from a dual POV because it is written solely from Leigh’s POV. **Adding here that the author does give us readers a bit of a taste of what Peter is thinking by offering a bonus at the end of the book.**

There is no “cheating” and/or cliffhanger as it ends with a HEA for the MCs. I would recommend this book to those who enjoy slightly darker reads as well as a book that definitely packs a punch when regarding the steam level.

I was fortunate to be able to receive and ARC copy of this book and this is my straight-up, honest review.

okay, so this book may not be for everyone because on the surface it looks very much like the alpha's mate has very little choice in their mating. but if you give it a chance and continue reading you will see that neither really has a choice. This is all very instinct versus logic. How often are you subject to your emotions rather than your reasoning? It is a similar thing but on a deeper biological level. When does love become an obsession? when is it biology and when is it feelings? In truth, neither Peter nor Leigh have a choice in their bonding because fate chose them for one another and biology ensured they couldn't stay away. Peter works hard to fight his alpha instincts as Leigh works hard to fight the desire in her to submit. They reach a good compromise and have a fairly well-balanced relationship, despite it taking fighting their instincts every step of the way. All in all enjoyable. Though I have to say I hate the whole if you want a Peter POV to go online and download. I hate downloadable content. When I read a story I want it all right there. Not all but one chapter I have to go online and sign up for. It's more likely to put me off reading a writer again. Especially since in romances I tend towards dual POV's more to begin with.

INSANELY EROTIC while refusing to skimp on romance.LOVED!
I was fortunate enough to have been chosen as an ARC reader and I highly recommend if y'all don't mind getting ridiculously hot and bothered while simultaneously being fulfilled by the romantic elements and an effective supporting storyline. Prepare yourselves ladies as the over the top, paranormal eroticism is nearly unrelenting .It has been a bit since I've read a title with the alpha omega trope,so if y'all are not familiar be aware of its intensity which includes aspects of animal behaviors and physicality such as" knotting "and reverting to ones baser ,psychosexual animal ,characteristics\ magnetism along with a pleasing, mythical , larger than life possessive male. This includes colossal "equipment" Everything about him is huge,he knows how to use it roughly, effectively and yet lovingly with trust an essential element.

Peter Leod's status as an anti corruption Liberal candidate in a Fictitious society led by alpha's requires a delicate balance that vies with his DNA. The inherent aspects of his Alpha, physique ,personality and behaviors could clash with the need for political correctness and his ultimate success in the political arena if not dealt with properly. That ability to downplay his raging masculinity and potent alpha sexuality blows up when he encounters his mate at a public gathering .This is where the saga\romance\sexy extravaganza begins and it is a doozey!Required pleasure reading ladies and be prepared to add this author to your follows!

I voluntarily read an arc of this book and am leaving a review. I liked this Alpha romance, it’s very different from her previous Alpha stories which I also very much enjoy. This one has a slight political bent to it that shows the seedy underbelly of politicians and their drive for power at all costs. Leigh is a reporter who is definitely in the wrong place at the wrong time...or is she? This book has hidden depths that I really enjoyed. Leigh is a strong woman and a perfect match for her alpha mate. Peter will do anything to protect her even give up his career. The plot of this book is fascinating and the sex scenes smokin’. I will say though, note to all authors, NEVER use the word “gaping” as a descriptor! Ok that’s all I’m going to say about that. Anyway, this is very interesting and I really recommend it for a super spicy read with an awesome end.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

What started off as a good book, went down hill by the second half.

The connection between the two main characters really never grew. Insta-love and too many times where I felt the reaction to the situation was over blown. Towards the middle the story started to show signs of unrealistic behaviors or eye rolling moments that kind of grew larger to the end. Worse I started skimming the book. Luckily I did. If there is one sexual act that I detest more than any other, it’s FISTING. Could have used a warning for that. And why is it that that thing is always buried in a story. It’s cringe worthy and nothing can easy the horrors that rack through me if I have to read about it in detail. Just no. A warning trigger would have been nice.

A total Meh. Could have been better but lost it during the second half of the book.
